I am so sorry its been so long! I hope you like this chapter!

Raze returned quickly to the bridge with the med bag in tow. He threw it unceremoniously at the doctors feet before returning to his spot by the woman's side. Bones glared at the hood and mumble, "Thanks a lot."

Uhura came to kneel by Pavel's side as the doctor rifled through his bag. She took his face in her hands, being careful to avoid the bruises and cuts. She looked into his eyes and asked quietly, "Are you okay?"

The young Russian smiled weakly at her and nodded. "Da, Nyota. I am fine."

"Liar." Bones scolded as he pulled out a hypospray from the bag. Before the teen could react, the doctor placed the device to Pavel's neck and injected the cool liquid into his bloodstream. Chekov let out a choked cry at the sudden pain and mumbled Russian curses. Bones rolled his eyes. "Baby. You and Jim both."

"What was zat?" the teen asked, irritably rubbing at his neck. Bones put everything back into his bag.

"Its for the pain. You may feel a little dizzy but that should pass quickly." Bones rose to his feet and went to stand next to Jim and Spock. "He should be fine. Just a few cuts and bruises as far as I can tell. However, I would like to get him down to sickbay to check for a concussion."

"I afraid that wont be possible, doctor." the woman said from where she sat in the captain's chair. "You will be tending to my injured crew members while I explain my demands to Captain Kirk."

"Well excuse me, but I'm pretty sure that my job description doesn't include tending to criminals." the doctor shot back. The hoods glared at him as they stepped closer to them. The woman raised her hand, stopping the hoods in their tracks. She gave Bones a very stern look.

"Doctor, although I do admire your standing up for your morals, I will have to ask you to cooperate due to the fact that I am on a very strict time schedule." her voice was calm but an underlying threat was clear. Bones, however, was to stubborn to bend to her demands. He crossed his arms.

"No. I don't give a damn about your time schedule. I will not tend to these barbarians when we have crewmembers of our own that are in need of attention." the doctor's voice rose with each word. The woman sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose and squinted her eyes close, as if the whole situation was giving her a headache.

"I was hoping to avoid any more violence." she said softly, gesturing towards Pavel and Uhura with a wave of her hand. Before any of the others could react, four of the hoods rushed towards the two crewmembers. Two of them grabbed Uhura by the arms and held her fast whilst the other two grabbed Pavel, pulling him to his feet.

Kirk, Spock and Bones leapt to aid they're friends but were quickly stopped by growling hoods. The woman rose to her feet and turned to face the doctor. She knelt down to pull out the knife from her boot. She held it in front of Bones and looked at him sadly.

"I can see now that this will be much more difficult than I originally thought. And please believe me when I say that this is the last thing that I want to do. But your lack of cooperation has forced me to this." she turned and walked to Uhura and Pavel, who both struggled to free themselves. She looked at them both carefully. "In this kind of situation, when you need a little encouragement, it is important to choose the right candidate; the one that will get you the desired reaction."

She stood in front of Uhura and smiled at her. "You see, when a woman is threatened, the men are much more willing to comply and cooperate due to the basic instinct to protect the supposed weaker sex." The woman quickly pressed the tip of the knife under Uhura's chin, causing the men, including Chekov, to fight against the hoods to get at her. The woman smiled and lowered the knife. "See?"

The woman went to stand in front of Pavel, who still fought against his captors. The woman gently pet his face, making him jerk his head away from her touch. She turned to look at the three men and continued, "But when a child or the youngest member of the team is threatened, the rest of the team would practically give up their own lives to protect them."

The woman look at each of them and saw fear in their eyes. She smiled, knowing she had won, and turned to Raze, who was still standing by the captains chair. Motioning for him to stand next to her, she threatened with a thick venom in her voice. "You will cooperate with me from now on or I will have Raze break every bone in this boy's body, one by one, until he is experiencing so much pain that he is begging for death."

Just to prove her point, she gave the head hood a knowing nod which was soon returned. Raze pushed away the two hoods that held the teen and grabbed Pavel's left arm. He twisted it painfully behind the teen's back, making him let out a strangled cry of pain. Kirk broke away from the hoods that held him in place and yelled, "Stop! That's enough!"

The woman held up her hand, halting Raze's actions. The young Russian was thrown to the ground as Raze left to stand next to his employer. The woman raised her eyebrows questioningly. "So do we have an understanding?"

"Yes. We will cooperate with you, fully." Kirk agreed with a nod, slightly out of breath. He kept his eyes locked on his young navigator, worry making wrinkles on his face.

"I knew that you would see things my way." The woman smiled, her white teeth flashing. The hoods returned to their places along the walls. Uhura ran to Pavel and helped him into his chair.

"I'm fine." he assured, rubbing his sore arm. He looked at the woman, fear plain in his eyes. The protective instinct came out in Uhura as she gripped his hand tightly.

Nyota leaned closer to him and whispered in his ear, "I am not going to let them touch you. I promise."

"It is not me zat I am worried about, Nyota." his voice was quiet but the sad look in his nearly broke Uhura's heart.
