He very well remembers the day he met her; it was a hot day, and he never really understood what possessed him to wear long pants, but at least he wore a short sleeved shirt to relieve some heat. The sea breeze, too, helped with staying cool.
He remembers sneaking away to get the alcohol- why, he can't recall- and the senior crewmembers demanding to know why he was acting shifty. He vividly remembers feeling uneasy and nervous, but then again, back then he always felt like that. The memory in the brightest color, however, was the moment when the pirate reeled back to open the barrel an-
How is it open? Who is screaming? Did he even touch it?!
And he recalls blinking, and when looked closer, there was a girl standing there. Her hair was the shortest he'd ever seen on a woman, and he wouldn't have even known she was female if she didn't have a slight chest. Her red vest startled his eyes, having been the brightest color he'd seen in a while, and her straw hat looked slightly out of place on her head but it suited her, for some inexplicable reason.
Then, they were talking, and he knew her name and she had dreams. Dreams that weren't dreams, they were reality- because she would make them so. She smiled, and his heart melted. He wasn't scared of her, not at all- the most powerful emotion he recalls from then is admiration and desire. Desire to be like her, to be able to accept a dream as reality. He felt she was incredible.
He took a step forward.
She defeated his enemies. He took a step forward.
He became a Marine, thanks to her.
Then he took one more step forward, but it was because of a push that he could move.
I completely rewrote this one for no reason at all, but I liked the last line so it stayed. :u Thank you so much for all of the follows and favorites, I really appreciate it! c:
