"Eh? I can't punch you?!"

The girl pirate's startled cries filled the air as the rain fell on Loguetown. The Marine captain's face remained impassive. He grabbed the back of her head and slammed her down onto the now-wet cobblestone of the road.

He put a foot on her back and kept his hand where it already was so she couldn't escape, and grabbed his jutte with his free hand. If he had felt anything, he still didn't show it.

Surprise and a dash of terror sparked in the girl's eyes; his just hardened in determination. He began to draw his jutte, letting her situation sink into her mind; she had no option but to surrender. This battle was his. He bit down on his cigars, when-

His hand stopped moving.

Intrigued, he glanced to his left. A tall figure stood cloaked there, only a smirk and a red tattoo visible on the figure's face. The Marine knew this man all too well- he was the most wanted man in the world, after all, everybody knew who he was.

"You," the Marine hissed.

The cloaked figure's smirk didn't fade. Lightning split through the air and illuminated the shadows under the figure's hood just long enough to get a glimpse of his eyes.

The girl started squirming, asking "who is it, who is it". The Marine didn't bother looking at her, just tightened his hold on her head.

"The government wants your head," the Marine stated, his eyes narrowing. The figure's smirk split into a full grin.

"The world is waiting for our answer," he replied cryptically. Just as the Marine fully comprehended what the figure had said, a torrent of wind akin to a flood rushed through the road. Both the Marine and the girl were thrown about in the wake of the wind, the girl making some odd noises in surprise. Yet, those two weren't the only victims; pirates and Marines alike were caught up in the storm's strength. There was no escaping it.

Then, it stopped.

The cloaked man left.

The Marine and the figure had come to a mutual understanding that moment, when the rain poured on Loguetown. Smoke would never be able to defeat the wind, yet somehow, the Marine was willing to cast that aside and try his best anyway, if it meant he could defeat this girl captain.

Heya! When first I was writing this one it sounded very much like Smoker was trying to- well, rape Luka. It was... not pleasant. (At all.) Once I noticed it I tried to steer it away from that angle, and I think I managed to prevent it from happening, but you never know.

Fun fact: This was the first- and will be (likely) only chapter to use the anime/manga as a source. :D

Remember to review and all that good stuff, please! I like to know what I've done well and what I haven't done that well.
