Rayna was not surprised she'd decided to train the girl.

The similarity to her captain was terrifying, and when the girl would say the same things as the late Pirate King it sent a shiver down Rayna's spine.

When was this chick born again? Had Roger's spirit touched the girl? Or were they simply too similar for any old timer's liking?

Rayna frowned, lost in thought. The girl herself was laughing at the face of a particularly ugly monkey, not paying attention to the fact the monkey was very, very angry. Upon noticing, the master of Haki supressed a smile.

Roger would have chuckled at it, at least, she thought. He was always a man who took pleasure in such things.

Then, for a moment, she thought she saw Shanks- his favorite striped shirt and all. She was immediately reminded of the red-haired boy, and she could see a lot of him in this girl captain. The excited way she looked at the world was definitely reminiscent of Shanks, and her ideals too... not to mention the hat, which was so obvious it didn't even need mentioning.

A great man once said he only ever achieved anything because he has stood on the shoulders of giants, Rayna thought. How many giants' shoulders has this girl stood on?

Rayna hummed for a moment absently. She couldn't remember the name of the song, but she certainly remembered singing it countless times. The girl stops.

"Bink's Sake?" she asks, a smile growing on her face as she turns to face Rayna. "I love Bink's Sake!"

Rayna can only ask where the girl first heard it. It's an odd thought, for a rookie pirate to have heard this song, but considering the men she's met...

"Shanks sang it to me when I was seven!"

...Rayna can't doubt it sounded like something he would do.

"Oh, Luka," she muttered. "You don't know a thing about yourself, do you?"

Luka blinked. "I have a brother and a sister," she said. "Or, had."

"Is that really the first thing you come up with?"

"I also have eight strong nakama who I like a lot and I love meat!" She laughed.

Just for a moment, the past seemed to collide with the present, and those two men stood by that girl, all with that same dumb smile on their faces.

Rayna smiled.

Rayna thinks a lot... then again she did lose someone very important to her, so to meet a girl who says the same things as that person must be so difficult. Rayleigh handled it so well. :o

On another note, after this we have three more drabbles and then the ending! It's kinda crazy to think I've gotten so far. Thank you for sticking through this ^_^
