Hannibal's previously quiet home was now lively. Many of our mutual friends and colleagues made an appearance, including Alana Bloom.
"Alana, how wonderful to see you!" I opened my arms to embrace her in a hug, quite happy to see her.
"How have you been Ariana? Still live in Oregon?" She had pulled her long brown hair into a low braid, and her hourglass figure was dressed in a navy blue dress.
"Yes, but I'm considering moving here, depending on whether or not I'm able to get a good job at the police department." I sipped the champagne that the server had given to me.
"Are you still in forensic science?" Alana sipped her whiskey, her long slender fingers wrapping around the glass.
"I am. And quite enjoying it." We both laughed quietly, as Hannibal walked up to both of us.
"Enjoying yourselves?" He raised his champagne glass to us both. We clinked our glasses together in cheers.
"Hannibal, you should know by now that you throw the best dinner parties." I heard Alana agree behind me.
"Why thank you, you're both too kind." He kissed both of our cheeks, and then walked off to greet other guests. I sighed, and then realized that I was falling for a serial killer.
