BELLA'S POV
They left me. I woke up to a locked coffin and the sound of a door closing. This was my meeting and they just left me. Really? Do they really think I am that sick? Or are they planning something? The last thought scared me. Those two together can actually be a bad thing. Lestat comes up with the strangest ideas and Louis always goes along with them.
What if they find out what Rosalie knows? I would be getting an ear-full when they returned.
Pushing on the coffin I couldn't help but snicker. They really did not think this through. One powerful kick and the door once again flew off. I can see why they needed a lock now since the door was still broken.
Stupid Lestat. Hearing him speak of my mom and me being suicidal really pissed me off. He was smart though, for figuring out my plan, but he still did not have to make my dad suffer. Of course waking up earlier then necessary took a toll on my body. Damn mind erase just had to wear off at the worse time.
Stepping out I changed into some new clothes and looked back at my coffin door, deciding to put it back, when I noticed something was missing. I began to freak and looked everywhere around the room. I ended up flipping the dresser over. Where the hell is it?
When I couldn't find it I growled. Where the hell could it go? Could they…no…why would they? But then, where is it?
I ended up calling Louis, just to make sure. "Hello?" Why the hell did he answer?
"Lestat, where's my dad?"
"Look who finally woke up. Well we are in the middle of a meeting."
I gasped. "You went to see them without me?"
"We didn't want to wake you." I could practically see him smiling.
"What are you telling them?"
"Don't worry princess, only what they need to know." I still didn't like the sound of that.
"Whatever, I'm coming down there." I replied, putting on my shoes and running out.
"I don't think you want to do that."
The cool air felt good against my skin. "Why do you say that?"
"They will want to know everything. Seems that Louis told Carlisle all about Claudia before and now they know you aren't her." Damn, I forgot about that. Even I couldn't erase Louis all from Carlisle's memories. "At this point you have to tell them my dear."
"You know I can't do that."
"Well you may not have a choice."
I growled. "You two need to get away from them now. Just leave them alone for good."
He chuckled. "But that's no fun."
"Damn it Lestat this isn't some game. Having them anywhere near this is going to get them hurt. I want you and dad back home now."
As I turned the corner I was hit with the smell of fresh human blood. Also the scent of another vampire like me. "Lestat. There's someone here."
"What do you mean?"
"It could be Armand."
I heard him sigh, "listen Bella you run. Do not go investigate." I was going to listen but this could be my only chance to catch him before he gets me. I could not just run. "Bella, I know what you are thinking and I'm telling you its suicide."
"Shut up." I hung up on him and followed the smell.
As I walked down the street is was getting worse and worse. And then as I turned down another street, I saw his long black hair, sucking a woman dry as I could see many other blood spots all over her body. He ignored me, wanting to finish his meal. All I got was a small grunt of acknowledgement of my presence. Walking closer my fists were ready when I sniffed the air again and stopped. And I was sure of one thing: This wasn't Armand.
The man let go of the woman and turned to me. He tossed his black hair to the side and looked me over, leering at me. "You must be the little chick Armand is so obsessed with. He did your description no justice."
"You know Armand?" Could he be from a new coven Armand formed? Or some rogue Armand sent after me.
"You could say that. He offered me a lot of money and protection just to find you. I guess his descion to come here won't be a waste of time now. Once I tell him I have you."
I ignored all his talk. "So Armand is coming here?"
He took a step forward. "Yes, and very soon." He flexed his arms. "Well, better get this over with quick."Just as he lunged for me though Louis appeared in front and punched him in the face. "You were told to stay away."
"You really wanna argue now?" I turned as Lestat snapped the man's neck. "So who is your new friend?"
I shrugged. "Didn't give me a name. But he said Armand was going to be here soon." Louis eyes went wide. "We need to leave."
"What? No. We are going to stay here and finish this once and for all."
"I don't want to lose you."
I stayed quiet. What could I say? You won't lose me? Yeah right. "This needs to end dad."
"She's right Louie. Our best bet is staying here and taking him on." Lestat said as he burned the bodies. "Let's get out of here before we are found." The three of us took the bodies, through them in a dumpster, and then went back to the house. When we were there we all sat down before I started asking questions.
"What did you talk about with the Cullens?"
They looked at each other. "Well, they figured out your real name isn't Claudia but they don't know your actual name. And we know that it was the blonde one you tried to memory erase and she told the rest so now they know you erased their memories." I groaned. "Won't be long before they find out the truth. What are you going to do then?"
"Nothing because it won't get that way." Even so, I'll be long gone before they even get an inkling of who I really am. I noticed that Louis was silent through this. He seemed to be thinking of something. "Dad?"
He looked up and I saw sadness in his eyes. "Bella, we need to talk."
This could not be good. "What about?"
He glanced at Lestat and back at me. "What are you going to do when we find Armand?"
"Kill him." I answered without hesitation. He knows this.
"And after?" I knew Lestat said something. I could not hear much when I was sleeping but I did hear Lestat comparing me to mom and I knew the conversation between them was not a good one.
"I don't know." I lied.
He caught it. "Bella, please tell me you are not planning to kill yourself." When I did not answer he knew because his hands were on my shoulders. "Why would you even consider such? That is not the way to go."
"It's my decision dad." He became frustrated, pacing the room.
"How long have you known this is what you were going to do?"
"Since we left the Volturi." His eyes went wide. "Why?"
I sighed. "There's no point. What is there to live for anymore?"
"What about me? What about the Cullens? You could still be a part of their lives."
"No I can't. I'm not who they think I am. They only know me as Bella Swan, the clumsy 17 year old human girl, not Bella de Pointe du Lac, an over 100 year old killer vampire. There's no way we could be together." I turned to him. "And as for you; I'm terribly sorry but I can't live anymore. I want to be with mom."
"I told you Louie." I glared as Lestat walked over to us. "She's just like her mother."
"You need to shut up and stay out of this."I growled.
He smirked, "Fine by me. When you go off on your suicide mission all Louie will have left is me. I guess you won't kill me after all."
Screw the help. I lunged at him, knocking us to the ground, with my hands on his throat. He wasn't fighting back as he kept laughing that pissed me off even more. I began lifting his head and bashing it into the floor. "Stop this now." Louis wrapped his arms around me and pulled me off. "You need to stop Bella." I did not listen and kept trying to grab him.
He just jumped up and laughed even though there was blood running down the back of his head. "That wasn't so bad."
"Bella stop." Louis kept saying as I struggled in his arms. "Now." Seeing as this was useless I did stop. After a few seconds of silence other than my breathing he let go of me. "Don't Bella."
I glared at Lestat for a second before taking a deep breath and headed for the door. "Where do you think you are going?"
"Out." I didn't wait for a reply. I had to get out of there or else we would have a serious problem. As I walked I didn't pay attention to where I was or what time it was until the sun came peering over some buildings.
I turned to leave when the wind picked up and a scent crossed my nose that made me gag in disgust. Getting over the horridness of it I sniffed again and froze.
I knew this smell.
