BBRae Week day #7
Theme:
Realization
Warnings: set on the alternate timeline of s02e14 "How long is forever?", sometime before Starfire appearence in the future; angst, drabble.

Alone inside his cage, Beast Boy tried not to cry.

The future was a really disturbed dystopia where his life had turned into the sole one thing he didn't want to be. He was alone. Utterly alone.

His greatest fear, his greatest worry. To lose his friends.

No Cy, no Star, no Robin and, above all, no Rae.

How he missed her! The fights at the breakfast, the tender moments in the Titans Tower living room, the deep conversations they had after everyone were sleeping…

And then, everything was over. They started to be in separated ways. Robin just rebelled himself and resolved to leave the Titans, turning into Nightwing. That left Cyborg as the Titans leader, but things didn't went good. After some new members and lots of fights, Beast Boy, turned Changeling, got out of the Titans. Raven tried to stop him. He said "or the Titans or me".

And that was one of the biggest mistakes he had commited in his life.

Raven had choosen the Titans, obviously. A choice that didn't last too much, because the Titans were done some months after his leave. When he got the news that the Titans were gone, he went after Raven to try and make a new team.

She was disturbed. Depressed. Heartbroken. She didn't even talked to him. Just sent him away. And… his life turned that depressing free fall to the bottom of the bottomest bottom of all bottoms.

Alone in his cage, Beast Boy realized…

That if he could make anything to reunite de Titans, and have Raven back with him, he would make it.

He just needed a chance.

*Saudade: word in Portuguese and Galician that has no direct translation in English. It describes a deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. Moreover, it often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing may never return. A stronger form of saudade may be felt towards people and things whose whereabouts are unknown, such as a lost lover, or a family member who has gone missing, moved away, separated, or died. (WIKIPEDIA, 2015).
(as a portuguese native speaker i had to borrow the wikipedia definition because
saudadeis something that i just can't describe but… it hurts. a lot. and when i say it hurts i mean it's physically)
