Naruto X
AN: I think the revision is much better personally. Though I don't like short chapters, I think that worked out fine.

Lifesaver had never worked so hard in his life. The damage to the boy was so severe and he wasn't sure if he would make it. However, the boy was holding on and that alone was a miracle as the reploid doctor was working.
After stabilizing the boy, he went into a meeting with X and his staff. The consensus was that there would be nothing they could do for him as they lacked the necessary technology to help the boy heal properly.
X was distraught until Lifesaver suggested the most insane idea he had ever heard, they would turn the boy into a cyborg. The blue hunter thought long and hard about that. There were no more cyborgs in this age but that didn't mean the process wasn't impossible.
X gave the okay to perform the operation but then complications arose. The boys brain had suffered damage from Sigma's attack and there was only one thing they could do to completely save him.
X then approved for them to remove Naruto's damaged organs and place them in a chronic healing pad. It was more of a precaution than anything since they knew the brain wouldn't last long in regular bio gel, and they needed it to heal.
That was when things began to get worrisome again as a strange energy began to flare up from inside the boy. Lifesaver grunted in annoyance, if it wasn't one thing, it was always another.
-Fast forward seven hours-
Naruto awoke to the sound of beeping. He stared at the ceiling in shock for a moment and sat up in shock before he looked at his limbs. His body…looked strange. The upper part of his body looked fine but his chest on down and one of his arms looked metallic and seemed to fit underneath his skin.
At that moment, a tall man in a white outfit with a green cross on his hat appeared. "Ah good, you're awake." He said which caught the boys' attention. "My name is Lifesaver. I'm the one who did the operation on you. Quite a nasty situation, running into Sigma like that." He said and the boy looked at him in confusion.
"Sigma?" he asked which made the man in white nod. "Yes. He is a maverick that has been giving us trouble for years. He escaped to your world through a portal. Sadly we were too late in arriving to stop the damage he had done to you, but we were in time to save you." He said, as Naruto just looked on confused.
"What's a maverick?" he asked. "Maybe I should explain a few things from the start." Lifesaver said and so he began to tell the boy about their world.
-Meanwhile in Konoha-
Zero had gone back to look for clues on Sigma when he discovered the man from before with the scar on his face was still in the area along with a man in white robes and a bunch of other people wearing masks.
The scarred man immediately pointed him out, saying that he had taken Naruto with him and despite the tension, the two had remained civil enough to answer a few questions for each other.
"Where did you take Naruto?"
"To a doctor that could save him."
"Who was that man from before?"
"A maverick named Sigma."
"And who are you?"
"Call me Zero."
The conversation went back and forth like that for awhile until they had both calmed down enough to realize that neither was a threat. Zero began to explain in more detail what had transpired that led up to these events and who Sigma was exactly.
The man in white identified as Sarutobi and began to tell Zero about their village and some of the details of Naruto, leaving out a few things he obviously couldn't talk about. Zero told him that once Naruto was alright, he would bring the boy back.
Sarutobi didn't want to agree with this and asked if he could compromise by sending Iruka along. Zero thought about it for a moment and nodded. "Sure why not." He said before he grabbed the person on the arm and the two vanished in a flash of light.
-Command center-
Iruka very nearly lost the contents of his stomach when the teleport was done. After getting back his nerve, he stood up and immediately his eyes widened in shock and awe at everything around him.
Desks that were see through with information on them that he couldn't make out, people of all shapes and sizes in strange outfits or with weird accessories and some that kind of resembled people but didn't look human at all.
Everyone was doing something or working on something and Zero just tugged Iruka's sleeve and began to walk towards a random direction. Iruka numbly followed after him while looking around.
After some time, they made it to a room that had a giant green cross on it, the universal symbol for hospital and Iruka was about to charge in but his thoughts were halted when Naruto walked out looking normal as could be.
"Naruto! You're alright!" the man cried as he ran up and embraced the boy, but to his shock, the boy didn't feel warm like he normally did. In fact, his body felt awkward and cold.
At the questioning look, Naruto's body flickered and suddenly standing before Iruka was Naruto in a dark gray and black armor similar to the man in blue. A tall man in white stepped out from the hospital room and stood next to Naruto.
"I am to assume you are the guardian figure?" he asked which made Iruka nod. "His body was too badly damaged to fully heal. But no worries, we know where parts are to upgrade our medical supplies so that we can help the boy out if need be." He explained.
At Iruka's questioning gave the reploid continued. "We have a precision laser that is used for surgeries and the like. If we can gather the parts necessary, we can upgrade it to perform recovery on a cellular level. For now though, the boy will have a mechanical body. It will help him, but I suggest that he take a few lessons here until he learns to have full control of his body." He said.
"Full control?" Iruka asked, still somewhat lost. "What I mean is, you don't expect him to have full knowledge on how his new body will work immediately do you? We want to put him through a few exercises to improve his motor functions." Lifesaver said which got a nod from the chuunin.
"I see, anything else?" he asked. Lifesaver looked at Zero and nodded and the red hunter sighed. "We'll also be training him in combat with his new body. There's a high chance Sigma will target him again and we have given his body the ability to fight back. He's going to need training from just learning to walk to being able to fight. There's a lot to teach him and while you might be wondering why we don't just upgrade the laser, the problem exists that we don't know where all of the parts are located so it may take anywhere from a year or more to find and retrieve all of the necessary pieces." He explained with made Iruka frown.
Naruto would be stuck in that body for a year? At a second glance he realized that the blonde was much taller and muscular looking than before. "Naruto, how do you feel?" he asked and the boy shrugged. "Great actually, I haven't felt this good in ages." He said and Lifesaver nodded. "His blood levels, sugar and other such things are being taken care of automatically now. This works out because he no longer needs to eat or sleep. While he can emulate those actions, he doesn't gain anything from doing them." The doctor explained and Iruka gave a nod.
"There is also something we should bring to your attention." Lifesaver said and when Iruka looked up, he gestured to the boy who made the cross shaped hand sign and said "Shadow clone jutsu." but Iruka was surprised when nothing happened.
"Just bringing that to your attention, there was also this huge influx of energy that happened during the operation. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that would you?" he asked and Iruka was about to answer but quickly shook his head.
The two reploids shared a look before nodding at the man. Iruka cleared his throat before looking at Zero. "You're sure he can continue his ninja career with his body?" he asked and the hunter nodded.
Iruka turned back to Naruto and reached into his vest before pulling out a leaf headband and handing it to the confused boy. "Naruto, it is my honor to congratulate you on making the rank of genin. In six days you'll need to come to the academy to be assigned your jounin and team." he said and the boy grinned before putting the headband on around his right arm.
"One step closer." He said as Zero gave him a questioning look. "It's always been my dream to become the hokage. The hokage is the leader of the village and he protects everyone. That is my dream, I want to become strong enough to protect my village, no matter what comes." He said, making the three adults smile.
