Naruto X
AN: Naruto, buster only, final rewrite chapter.

The training Naruto underwent seemed cruel and unusual. Walking, running, jumping, climbing, crouching, sit ups, push ups, pull ups were just a few things he had to get used to and once he had shown ANY inkling of getting decent, they put him through a test which didn't do much at first, but as the training went on, it got more and more ridiculous and crazy.
Spikes were added to the jump training, things Naruto later found out were called turrets were added to climbing while other random traps and puzzles were thrown in at any opportunity.
Eventually it had changed from the basic courses and eventually he was thrown into an endless move test that forced him to use all of his previous training just to avoid a wall of spikes that were following after him.
After lasting for nearly two hours, he finally slipped up and missed a jump from a ladder to another ladder and fell. Fortunately for him this was considered a passing grade and he was allowed to move on.
Then the combat training began. If Naruto thought earlier was trouble, then he was in for it now. Random enemies appeared and Naruto just fired small yellow blasts at the enemies who were either destroyed after a couple hits or took much more punishment to take down.
He finally came across a wall that blocked his attacks and he stood there in confusion until X told him that he could charge his attack. With this newfound knowledge, the boy began to clear the training much faster than before until he finally ran into…it.
A small robot with a yellow hard hat with a green cross printed on it. Nothing Naruto did could kill this annoying little robot and no matter what he did, the robot refused to come out from under the hard hat.
Naruto finally got the robot by doing a quickly spin and firing when the robot popped out to fire at him. Finally he was pushed into a room where he had to face off against a hologram that looked exactly like him.
It was an easy fight and Naruto frowned as the hologram exploded before another version appeared, but this one was in a more complete set of armor. What surprised Naruto was when this hologram was using charged shots and moving faster than the boy could fully track.
Using every trick he knew, he managed to somehow defeat this version of himself and the hologram exploded. Naruto let out a sigh when he suddenly felt his energy restored and the hologram that appeared this time caught his breath.
It was him, but in a dark silver version of his armor but it looked way stronger than the armor his last hologram had on, what he could say is at least his last hologram had armor, he was in here with just his base body and this wasn't a fight so much as it was a slaughter.
Naruto fired a fully charged shot at the new hologram that stood there and suddenly a red shield appeared and his shot vanished the moment it came in contact with the shield. A gasp from the boy was all that escaped before a giant red blast of energy flew out and hit him, his energy vanishing in a single hit before he exploded.
When he reappeared in the regular training room, he was gasping and looked at X. "What on earth was that?!" he asked, and the blue mavericks words shook him to his core. "That's what you can become."
-Six days later-
Naruto had finished up his basic training and was given his new armor to wear. He found out about the various other functions on his body but never got any practical training since they had run out of time so there were quite a few things the blonde wasn't sure how to use fully and they had decided to just send him to his meeting and they would start his true combat training after he got introduced to his team.
Naruto was informed that X had the reploids plant a device on his world somewhere that would allow Iruka to come to their world if they needed it. It would only react to Iruka or Naruto, but the blonde was told they could warp him anywhere they wanted, so he requested to be put right in the school yard.
Hologram on, he warped and quietly made his way inside the building. Once he was in, he snuck in and sat near the back of the classroom and kept his head down. As students began to file in, a couple sent him a questioning glance before shrugging and going on their own way.
Naruto had found out he could scan things during his training and had scanned the other students as they came in. To his surprise, the information he was getting was quite detailed and even somewhat personal.
He could see useful things such as names, addresses, and obvious things like hair and eye color, but this is where it got more detailed as it showed what items a person had on them, what jutsu or bloodlines the person knew and if he checked a specific item he could find out what kind of material the item was made of.
Hell, he was quite shocked to find out he could find what people had inside storage scrolls and was further shocked to find that he could get detailed information on jutsu or combat styles such as what type they were, how they worked and how to even perform them himself, not that he needed this knowledge because he himself didn't have the use of chakra any longer, but it was still interesting to know.
He was so wrapped up in his scanning that he completely missed a small shouting match between Ino and Sakura as they fought to sit next to Sasuke. It was only when Iruka entered and yelled at them to sit down that he finally snapped out of his thoughts.
"I want to congratulate all of you…" Iruka began and Naruto just scanned the teacher before drifting off into his thoughts once more. He was snapped out of his musings when he heard his name "Naruto Uzumaki." which got a few whispers from the crowd.
'Didn't he fail?''
'What's he doing here?'
'Who is he going to be teamed with?'
"Sakura Haruno." the girl let out a groan but everyone was amazed when Naruto didn't seem to react. It wasn't a well known secret the boy liked the pink haired girl and for them to be on a team together, they expected some kind of reaction out of the boy.
"And Sasuke Uchiha." which got Sakura to cheer, a few other girls to groan but Naruto didn't react again. Just when everyone thought they had the blonde figured out.
"Your team leader is Kakashi Hatake." Iruka said before continuing on with the other teams. Once he had finished he put his clipboard away and just as he did so, a black haired woman in a white outfit and red eyes had shown up. "Kurenai Yuuhi here for team 8." she said, as Kiba, Hinata and Shino stood up and followed her out.
Shortly after a bearded man smoking a cigarette showed up. "Asuma Sarutobi here for team 10." he called, Ino, Shikamaru and Chouji got up and followed him.
It wasn't until another three hours that Kakashi had finally shown up. Sasuke looked annoyed, Sakura looked right pissed and Naruto…just had no expression on his face. "My first impression of you three is…I hate you." he said which got a crestfallen expression from Sakura, Sasuke just looked annoyed and Naruto just blinked in confusion, not from what Kakashi had said, but rather the huge file of information that popped up when he scanned Kakashi.
"Meet me on the roof." he said before closing the door on his way out. The three genin stood up and followed out the door and made their way to the rooftop where the jounin was waiting for them.
There was silence for some time as the man was looking off into the sky before he finally looked back down at them. "Alright, give a short introduction on yourselves." he said but Sakura looked confused.
"Why don't you give us a demonstration so we know what you want?" she said and the silver haired man gave a nod. "Very well. My name is Kakashi Hatake. My likes are none of your business. My dislikes are also none of your business. My hobbies include reading. My dreams for the future…hm. I wonder." he said and the girl just shook her head.
"Alright Pinky, you first." he said, and Sakura looked a bit annoyed at the nickname before answering. "My name is Sakura Haruno. My likes…" she looked at Sasuke "My hobbies…" another look at Sasuke "and my dream for the future." At this she let out a small squeal when she stared at Sasuke and the jounin rolled his visible eye. "Great a fan girl. What about your dislikes?" he asked and she huffed. "Ino pig!"
He pointed at Sasuke. "You're next sunshine." which made Sasuke huff but say nothing at first. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I don't have any likes or dislikes. My hobbies include training and my dream, no my goal is to restore my clan and to kill a certain man." he said which made Kakashi shake his head. "Vengeance doesn't become you." he said which only made the boy bristle before he turned to Naruto.
"Alright Puff, your turn." he said and Naruto blinked at the nickname before clearing his throat. "My name is Naruto Uzumaki. My likes are training and the friends I have. My dislikes are ignorant people or those who hurt others for no reason and Sigma. My hobbies include training, gardening and reading lately." he said which got a surprised glance from his teammates.
"And my dream for the future is to become the hokage so I can protect everyone important to me." he finished which got a nod of approval from Kakashi. "Not bad. Alright, tomorrow is the day we do the official test to see whether or not you can become genin." he said as he stood up.
"What? But we already passed the academy." Sakura said and the man gave a nod. "Yes, you passed the exam that weeded out those with potential to become genin, but the actual exam is much more difficult than that. The jounin will test you to determine if you have what it takes to remain as genin. In fact, out of all of the genin that graduated, only three teams will even be selected, not to mention the test itself has a 66% failure rating." he said which made Sakura and Sasuke's eyes widen.
Naruto however looked confused before he spoke up. "Wait, none of that makes any sense. First off, why only three teams? If we have the jounin to train these students, then why only take nine genin at a time? Wouldn't we need that manpower to increase our own ranks?" he asked.
The silver haired man looked at the blonde and was about to answer when he got cut off. "And another thing, a test with a failure rating that high? It would make more sense for the multiple failing squads then, but if more than three squads passed and you are deliberately weeding them out, then the failure rating can't honestly be that difficult which leads me to two answers." he said which got everyones attention.
"Either you messed up your wording and got those two statements backwards, or you're bluffing about the difficulty." he said which got wide eyed looks from his teammates before they looked at Kakashi.
The silver haired man let out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his head. "Well this is awkward, you're the first to ever do that." he said before standing upright. "I will admit its more intimidation than fact. As for the failing teams, not all jounin have the time or even want to take on a squad of genin so those extra teams that pass are cut off based on if the jounin even want to train the kids or the squads potential." he explained and Naruto shook his head.
"That's not right. If they pass the test then someone should train them." he said and the silver haired man gave a nod. "I agree with you. If we had more able teachers, this wouldn't be a problem and nobody has ever argued for their sake before, so the system just continued this way." he said but Naruto had to ask.
"So you ever had a team before?" he asked and the man shook his head. "All genin I've ever trained have failed my test." he said before looking up at the sky. "Well it's about time I head out. You three should get ready for the test tomorrow. I'd give more false information but I'm sure Naruto here would correct me the moment I'm gone." and with that, the jounin vanished in a swirl of leaves.
Sasuke stood up and began to leave while Sakura glanced at Naruto, gave a small nod at him before chasing off after Sasuke. Naruto turned and took a few steps before hopping up and vanishing in a flash of light.

When Naruto appeared, he looked over at X. "I'm ready." he said which made the blue hunter nod. "Now the real training can begin."
