Naruto X
AN: This is getting way easier as I go. If you're wondering how I'm able to push out so many stories in a small amount of time considering before I would always put off updating for years at a time…well my new job has lots of time in between helping customers and the lack of internet or anything else besides Word and Paint helps. Even on some busy days I can usually squeeze out a couple pages.
PAGE BREAK
Naruto was livid. He had faced down the eight mavericks, TWICE. He took down Sigma's personal guards, he watched Zero die after he took down Vile and now here he was before the man himself.
The anger Naruto was feeling at this moment was indescribable. This was the man who nearly ended his ninja career, the man who had caused so much destruction and mayhem for X and Zero, the man who had tortured him for no reason whatsoever.
Revenge was going to be his and he would enjoy it. At least, that's what Naruto was thinking when he first got into this fight. He barely took down the wolf thing that was with Sigma and then Sigma himself went on the attack. It was a massacre, no matter how much Naruto tried, Sigma was too fast, his attacks really hurt and the worst part was, Sigma would use his saber to block Naruto's buster shots.
Just as Naruto was starting to think Sigma was invincible, he finally had a breakthrough. He found out the wolf that Sigma kept was weak to Shotgun ice, and with most of his health still available, Naruto went on to face Sigma again, trying to find a weakness.
However, Sigma wasn't reacting to any of his weapons, although Electric spark did decent damage to Sigma, it was the same damage as a fully charged buster. Naruto figured it was better to use the shock since it would save him the trouble of charging.
And it stayed that way for nearly four hours. Naruto was unable to defeat Sigma no matter what he tried. Shooting the man? He blocked. Climbing the walls? Sigma would do that too. Drop under him? Sigma would do a dive attack that hurt more than his regular attacks. Then Naruto made the assumption he could just stay away from Sigma and keep jumping over him, but was surprised when Sigma suddenly fired a ranged attack from his forehead.
He had no way of winning. Even knowing the weakness of Sigma, he stood no chance. It was Armored Armadillo all over again, but this time Sigma wasn't losing his armor from being hit.
It was finally once he calmed down from his blind fury and began to force himself to think that he realized, maybe Sigma has an attack pattern he just never noticed. So he spent the next twenty minutes dodging and avoiding to the best of his ability. Sigma indeed had a pattern, but he would change it depending on what Naruto was doing. He later learned that by climbing the walls and quickly dashing off of them and underneath the man, he could force him into a pattern of climbing the walls, making him have his guard open since he couldn't block while in mid air.
And it was with this pattern that Naruto exploited and finally defeated Sigma. As Sigma was exploding, Naruto was cheering with joy…until he noticed Sigma's head was still flying and suddenly something from the shadows grabbed it and pulled it.
Naruto turned and immediately saw that Sigma had attached himself to the head of a giant sized version of the wolf from before. Frowning, he readied himself for another fight and did what he could, but none of his attacks connected. They all bounced off, even the charged buster shot bounced off harmlessly.
He was trying his best to avoid attacks, which seemed easy enough. The wolf would breathe fire or shoot lightning out of its mouth, easy enough to dodge Naruto thought, but sometimes the hands would blast lightning out of them or try to slam down.
What got Naruto confused was why the lightning was blasting upwards as well, and then it dawned on him. He needed to get on those and climb up to Sigma's exposed face. He waited for one of the hands to attack before he jumped on it and it lifted him up. He shot a charged shot at Sigma, only for it to bounce off.
Confused, Naruto tried again for the same result. Finally he let it fully charge, first blue, then yellow, then the red energy. He never used this level of the charge shot before and it showed when he fired the massive blast of energy as it nearly knocked him off of his feet.
Sigma took damage finally, a very small amount of damage. Naruto almost cried out in frustration. He said hell no to that and figured there MUST be some faster way to do this! So he began to go through his weapons, all of them pinging off of Sigma, doing absolutely no damage at all.
Then he got to Rolling shield and it actually hit Sigma and did a huge amount of damage, way more than his buster gun! Motivated, Naruto began his assault while trying his best to avoid the other claw and the lightning coming out from underneath him.
It took a bit, but Naruto finally defeated Sigma! The massive body began to explode and in a flash of white light, Naruto quickly teleported outside, then reappeared on a nearby cliff and watched Sigma's floating fortress fall into the ocean and explode.
The simulation flickered out and Naruto was back in a green and black room, he turned around and looked up at X. "Good work Naruto. Honestly, I'm amazed you made it through form 3 without dying once. You have exceeded expectations right at the end and finished the training faster than estimated. Now we can begin the second stage of your training."
Naruto blinked at that. He had almost forgotten that there was more, but at that thought, his grin got wider. He was really enjoying the training he was getting and looked ready to jump in.
X seemed to be typing something at the console before the room suddenly shifted and Naruto was suddenly on a rider and flying through the desert towards an enemy base. The person riding next to him was suddenly killed by enemy fire and Naruto rammed his bike into an enemy standing before him, taking out the legs of the robot.
He quickly began to attack the enemy, jumping over the cannon fire and running inside. It was a pretty simple base, nothing more than an assembly line for robots, and after clearing out most of the enemies, he dropped through a chute into a huge room where a giant robot with spiked balls for arms appeared.
The thing was pathetically weak however and Naruto finished it off in no time, not even taking any damage. He warped away and found himself at the familiar 8 faces on a screen room. He didn't recognize any of the faces though, so he chose the very first one on the list and was warped into a greenhouse.
-Meanwhile with team 7-
Kakashi frowned as Sakura collapsed face down in exhaustion. He pulled out his orange book and let out a small sigh. "Okay Sakura. Five minute break and then we get back to training." He said and the girl barely gave him a response more than a grunt.
He knew she had almost zero physical training, but this was ridiculous. He had decided that since Naruto was off training, he would alternate one of the genin watching Tazuna and training the other. Sakura had won their rock paper scissors match and got the first day of training. Needless to say Kakashi was not impressed.
He was trying to improve her physical conditioning but it was obvious the girl had never done any serious training in her life. He closed his book and sighed, this was going to be rough. "Sakura." He started, causing the girl to glance up from her face down position in the dirt.
"You've never taken your training seriously before, have you?" he asked, the girl looked confused but he continued. "Your physical conditioning is, quite frankly, disappointing. It's almost as if you don't actually care about being a shinobi." She was about to protest but he cut her off. "You don't eat properly do you? What I mean by that is, do you even eat meat? You're practically skin and bones and you have absolutely no muscle. What would happen to you on a mission? The boys won't always be around to protect you and getting killed isn't the worst thing that can happen to a kunoichi." He said and her eyes widened in shock.
He let that sink in for a bit before he put his book away. "Alright get up. We're going to continue." He said and the girl got up without a single complaint or argument and immediately got back to work. It seems as if his words had ignited something inside her and she seemed to be taking the training more seriously now. Kakashi smiled a little at the change in her attitude, maybe there was hope for her after all.
-Day 2-
Kakashi was pleasantly surprised to hear that while he took Sasuke, Sakura had taken to doing warm ups and continuing her physical training routine on her own while she guarded Tazuna and he trained Sasuke.
With Sasuke, he was having the boy continue to work on his chakra control, giving the boy tips on ways to better go about it. Towards the end of the day he had finally gotten the hang of the exercise and Kakashi started him on taijutsu practice.
-Day 3-
While Sakura was still new to exercising and training physically, she had the steps memorized and was already trying to push herself by increasing the amount of each exercise she did. While 100 squats, push ups, sit ups and laps seemed like a lot to someone not used to working, she insisted and pushed herself hard. Kakashi was a little worried she was overdoing it, but quite honestly he was extremely proud of the girl.
Using what he knew of healing jutsu, he would help calm the girls aching muscles and heal them as best as he could to help speed up her training. After her muscles were done aching, she would immediately get back to it in a display that was quite honestly scaring the jounin. It was as if his words had changed her from being a naïve girl to wanting to go all out and become an amazing kunoichi.
Every day she would work herself to the point of passing out and Kakashi had to scold her yesterday that while he approved of her exercising during guard duty, he did not want her working herself to the point of passing out and leaving the bridge builder defenseless.
She vowed to take it easy on guard duty but to work doubly hard with Kakashi. He smiled at the thought but now he was slightly worried she was going to overdo it. Sighing, he figured that she would learn on her own and just continued to monitor her.
-Day 4-
Sasuke was moving along with his taijutsu very well. The boy had a natural talent for learning taijutsu and was making leaps with his training. Kakashi was training the boy with a more offensive styled form of combat than the basic academy style that he was used to and results were phenomenal. Sasuke was not only getting stronger, but faster as well. Kakashi was pleased with the results.
-Day 5-
Sakuras' training was catching on and it showed. She had considerably more stamina and her body was beginning to show a little muscle growth. It was honestly more than Kakashi could have hoped for and once she had finished her warm up routine, he informed her that he was going to teach her a new taijutsu style.
Her eyes had lit up at that bit of info and he spent the day going over stances and exercises for it. Her style was more about speed and agility. Kakashi had duly pointed out that while he was glad she was training, she was still the weakest physically and to make up for that, he was going to make her faster and have her style focus on dodging, counters and punishing.
He came to the conclusion this style was too perfect for her when she had nearly snapped his wrist, assuming her still too weak to be a serious threat and not expecting her to go all out immediately.
He could only imagine what she would be like once she had mastered this style. His thoughts briefly traveled to Naruto and he wondered how the boys own training was going before he returned to his present thoughts and continued to teach the pink haired girl.
-Day 6-
Sasuke had quickly picked up the next part of his style and Kakashi decided that he had advanced enough that it was time to kick it up a notch. So he called Sakura back with him and to their surprise, had given both of them training weights and sent them about their usual warm up routine.
The Cyclops had an amused look on his face as he watched them both take longer than usual on their warm ups and actually look exhausted. He had given Sasuke 80 pound weights and Sakura fifty pound weights. It was like day one all over for them and they were both getting exhausted quickly.
The day was halfway over and they had just finished their warm ups. They heard the jounin chuckling before he told them in an all too cheerful voice that they would be doing their training with these weights from now on and as soon as they adjusted to them, the weight would be increased.
They sighed and were suddenly in for a rude awakening when Kakashi told them to get up and practice their new taijutsu styles against each other. The genin were both ready to collapse by the end of the day.
-Day 7-
Kakashi was feeling much better by this point and had taken their training to the bridge. It was a good thing too because once they had arrived at the bridge, it was complete pandemonium. A few of the workers were dead and to the great shock of everyone, Zabuza and the hunter nin from before were standing before them alive. Kakashi immediately got into a battle stance as his genin removed their weights and got on either side of Tazuna.
Kakashi immediately pulled up his headband to reveal his sharingan eye, but to his great surprise, when Zabuza and the hunter nin turned towards them, Zabuza's eyes were pure white and without a word, they launched themselves towards the group.
Kakashi charged out and met Zabuza, dodging a swing from the cleaver before countering by stabbing a kunai into his arm. Kakashi was shocked however when he got a backhand for his efforts and Zabuza ignored the kunai. In fact, he wasn't even bleeding from the wound.
The hunter nin meanwhile, had gotten into a fight with Sasuke and Sakura. Sasuke was quickly kicked in the gut and pushed away and when they attacked Sakura, she immediately grabbed his arm and snapped it backwards at the elbow with a sickening crunch that made the girl white as a sheet.
However, she was shocked when the opponent did not react, but instead punched her in the face and then kicked her away before grabbing his arm and snapping it back into place.
Sasuke immediately did hand signs and blasted the nin with his fireball jutsu. The nin jumped out still covered in flames and charged at Sasuke, who only blinked in shock before making a hasty attempt to guard from the assault of punches and kicks until finally he was grabbed, picked up and tossed away.
Sakura was starting to get scared. Not only was this dead ninja alive, but he was continuously shrugging off everything they were throwing at him. She got into another taijutsu exchange with the hunter and improvised at the last second, pulling a kunai out of her pouch, she grabbed his arm and tugged hard.
She heard a popping noise from his shoulder before she immediately jammed the kunai she pulled out into the nins dislocated shoulder in an attempt to prevent them from popping it back.
The hunter looked at the limb for a moment and then glanced away, almost as if it didn't seem to care about the arm before Sakura was once again punched in the face with the other arm.
Suddenly, a hailstorm of kunai and shuriken happened and the hunter was skewered repeatedly by the projectiles thrown by Sasuke. They heard a clanging noise and when they looked at the enemy, they were surprised that their chest was relatively unharmed, even though there were tears from the weapons in the clothing, none of them had stuck.
The two genin narrowed their eyes before Sakura grabbed the hunter from the back and Sasuke grabbed their shirt and ripped it off, only to back off in surprise at what he saw. Their chest where Naruto had shot them was now sporting some metal contraption with a glowing white circle in the center.
That explained that, but it still didn't explain why the ninja was alive to begin with. The hunter tried to break out of Sakura's hold, but she held steady and Sasuke quickly slit the nins throat, but was surprised when they didn't react, but they also weren't bleeding.
The nin then kicked Sasuke between the legs and leaned forward and pulled Sakura over and her head collided with Sasukes, knocking them both out. The hunter turned towards Tazuna, who was sweating buckets at this point and they leapt at him.
-Kakashi-
The fight with Zabuza was…different. The man wasn't talking, he wasn't using any jutsu and while he was fighting with the sword style he was known for, he wasn't making full use of it with his mist and his attacks felt…stiff.
There was also the fact that he was flat out ignoring every attack Kakashi was hitting him with. The man had stab wounds and kunai sticking out everywhere and he wasn't bleeding. That was probably what was unnerving him the most and while Kakashi could read his movement with the sharingan, he honestly felt like he didn't need to use it right now.
His thoughts were put on hold however when he did a water dragon jutsu and launched the swordsman away, expecting some kind of retaliation for attacking him with a jutsu. But to his surprise, the man didn't even react aside from using his blade to block a majority of the hit.
Kakashi bit his thumb and summoned his dogs, all of them quickly latching onto the mans limbs and holding him steady to the best of their ability, but Zabuza was giving them a hard time and struggling to break free.
Kakashi did some hand signs and his palm started to crackle with lightning before he charged in and with a cry of "CHIDORI!" he slammed his hand forward into Zabuza's chest. What caught him off guard however, was his hand colliding with something hard and Zabuza getting shocked, but remaining undamaged.
Kakashi blinked before he grabbed a kunai sticking out of Zabuza and sliced open his shirt, revealing that his chest was made of metal and had a white glowing ball thing in the very center of his chest.
"What…is this.." he said aloud before his thoughts flashed back to when Naruto had let him see the real him for a moment. 'This looks very similar to what Naruto showed me, yet the design is completely different. Are these orbs their new hearts? Naruto did shoot them both in the chest.' He thought as he studied the device. It was attached to the skin flawlessly and he saw no openings or ways to actually open it. He was broken out of his musings when he heard Tazuna cry out in fear and when he glanced over, he saw Sasuke and Sakura down and the hunter nin looking ready to pounce.
Eyes wide, he quickly began to dash forward, but the hunter leapt at Tazuna. Time seemed to slow down before a familiar charging noise was heard and a blue blast of energy flew out of nowhere and hit the hunter in the side, sending them flying away from Tazuna and over the bridge.
Kakashi stopped in his tracks and he looked at where the shot was fired from. Tazuna almost fainted from shock and also looked at where the shot came from. Both of the grown men were never so happy to see a familiar blonde kid with a gun on his arm standing there, grinning like an idiot.
"Don't you know? Heroes always arrive at the last second." He said and Tazuna let out a grunt. "A few minutes earlier would have been preferred." Earning a laugh from the boy, who then turned his attention back beyond Tazuna. The hunter nin was climbing back up over the railing and once he saw Naruto, he completely charged at him.
Naruto raised his buster gun and let it charge. It was at the blue, the hunter nin was halfway to him, it went yellow, they were closing in on him, his energy turned red, which surprised Kakashi and the hunter nin leapt directly at Naruto who lifted his buster and fired point blank as a stream of energy burst out from the buster gun and kept flying.
All was quiet for a few moments before a crumpled metal object fell on the bridge in front of Naruto. They recognized it as the device that was strapped into their chest and the orb in the center began to blink. Slowly at first, but then it sped up and finally stopped and a flash of white is all anyone saw as an explosion suddenly rocked the bridge and sent them all flying. Kakashi was blown all the way back to Zabuza, Tazuna, Sakura and Sasuke were sent flying off of the bridge and Naruto held his arms up in front of him while he took the full brunt of the attack.
Once the smoke cleared, Narutos hologram was down and although he was singed, he didn't look injured from the attack at all. That was when Kakashi got a full look at the boy. The majority of his body was covered in a gray metal that looked like a body suit more than anything, with the hologram down, his head and parts of his face were covered in a helmet and his hands were black in appearance. Kakashi guessed gloves of some kind, although the boys' right hand was currently missing as the buster gun was pulled out and in its place.
Kakashi heard a yelp and when he turned, Zabuza had broken out of some of the dogs hold and was charging straight at Naruto with his blade raised. Naruto blinked at the charging opponent before he turned and reached up to grab the sword handle by his shoulder, only to surprise Kakashi when the boy pulled out a purple laser sword and countered Zabuza's attack.
Naruto kept parrying blows from the demon of the mist until he finally dashed around him, surprising Kakashi once more as the boy had left after images of himself and in a second worth of time, had sliced the man completely through four times.
Wasting no time, he grabbed the metal torso and immediately threw it with all of his strength off towards the ocean away from the side Tazuna had fallen in. Seconds later, there was a flash and a shockwave had flown back and nearly pushed Kakashi back down. Naruto went "Hm." As he turned around and immediately ran over, seeing Tazuna holding onto Sakura and Sasuke as he clung to the bridge for dear life.
Naruto climbed down and grabbed onto them before dragging all of them back up on the bridge. Once they had made it up, they heard laughter and glanced up to see a short man in a business suit surrounded by various bandits.
"So the demon of the mist failed to kill you did he? Leave his body off in the wilderness did you? It makes no difference. My boys here will be more than a match for you." The short man said as Naruto frowned and began to walk towards them.
"I killed Zabuza in one move. I took his apprentice down with a single move. I've killed enemies with more than ten times the manpower you have and more than twenty times their strength. What do you think a group of bandits are going to do?" Naruto asked, his face looking devoid of emotion.
Gato sneered at the boy. "If you think bluffing is going to intimidate me, you are sorely mista-" his thoughts were cut off when Naruto fired a blue energy blast. The shot had flown past Gato and when he finally worked up the courage to turn around, he almost wet himself as he saw that over twenty of his men now had a single hole in their body before some of them fell over dead or some of them immediately began to scream in pain at their missing limbs. The other bandits stared on in shock, but Naruto spoke up again.
"Your numbers mean nothing to me and that seems like your only source of power since you all seem too weak to fight by yourself." Naruto's armor suddenly changed color to a bright red and his body began to glow, the humming noise began to play, an obvious sign that Naruto was charging up.
"For the sake of my mission and the people of this country, I am left with no choice but to remove you. This is the end of your tyranny Gato." Naruto spoke before he raised his buster gun. Gato immediately fell to his knees "WAIT! I can pay you! Give you anything you want! Money! Power! Girls! How about it? Think about what you're doing!" he said, and Naruto stared at him before speaking up.
"You have six bank accounts across all the nations, your pin is 5473 and your account number…well I'll save that information for later." He said, causing the man to sweat. "H-How do you know that information?!" he asked and Naruto shrugged. "Digital eye." He said before he fired, a small flaming orb flew towards Gato and his men and landed in front of them before a giant wave of fire erupted out and flew over all of them, the screams were heard for miles. Some of them thought to try and run for the edge of the bridge, but they never made it more than a few feet before they were dead.
Once the flames died down, Naruto changed back to his gray armor and let out a sigh. Kakashi had stood up and walked over to Naruto at this point and put a hand on the boys shoulder, making him glance up. "Good job Naruto. While I personally would have liked to avoid combat in that situation, we can't always do everything the peaceful way. I know you tried to warn them but some people can't be reasoned with. You've done this country a huge service for your actions here and you've helped the leaf by completing this mission."
He then turned the boy around they saw Sasuke and Sakura slowing coming to and Tazuna looking at the boy with appreciation in his eyes as the rest of the townsfolk suddenly arrived, armed and ready to fight.
"You saved your teammates. You protected your clients' life and you brought peace back to these people. Not many genin can boast a claim like that on their first high ranked mission." He said, causing the boy to grin before he reapplied his hologram. Kakashi blinked before smiling at the boy and they walked over to the townsfolk.
-One week later-
Naruto had surprisingly taken the entire week off from training with X to help Tazuna repair the bridge. Thanks to his body, he was able to lift things much heavier than a regular person and in large amounts. Also with the help of some of his powers, he was able to transport supplies quickly.
They had found out that Naruto was able to make a bobsled out of his shotgun ice and was using it to send items back and forth across the bridge as needed. Sakura and Sasuke continued training with Kakashi while this went on and soon the bridge was finished.
The team said their goodbyes to Tazuna before they went on their way. As they were walking away, someone randomly asked "Hey! What are we going to name the bridge?" Tazuna smiled and said "How about the super aweso-" he was cut off as Tsunami nudged him. "How about after the boy who saved your life and our town?" she suggested and Tazuna grunted.
"Alright then. The Great Naruto Bridge." He said, and everyone cheered. Team 7 glanced back at the cheering but shrugged and kept walking, all of them eager to return home. Naruto suddenly had a thought and after a quick talk with X through the receiver in his helmet, told his team he had a much faster way back to Konoha.
At their inquiring look, he told them to hold on to each other as he wrapped his arms around all of them and in a flash of light, they suddenly flew off into the sky.
