Naruto X

AN: Ah yes. It's that time of the fanfic, where the plot starts to get heavy.

Sarutobi was in his office and for once the paperwork was actually completed early in the day thanks to the shadow clone trick Naruto had brought up and the old man seemed to sit up before smiling. "Well, hello Jiraiya, to what do I owe this pleasure?" he asked, as a man with long white hair came in through the window and stood in front of the professor.

"I was in the neighborhood and thought I would give you the latest on any information I have. I also thought I would check in on my godson." He said, getting a "Hm." from Sarutobi.

"Well then let's hear it. Although I doubt you will hear from Naruto at all for at least a month." He said, making the frog sage look at him in surprise. "From what I've found out, the Kazekage has been found dead, however he was seen still alive and from what I've come to understand, has allied himself with the new village called Otogakure." He said.

"So you suspect someone is impersonating him?" the hokage asked, getting a nod from Jiraiya. "If I had to take a guess, they're tricking Suna into an alliance, but for what purpose?" he said, and Sarutobi narrowed his eyes.

"There was a team from sound participating in the exams, but they were all eliminated. Perhaps an invasion is planned?" he said aloud, getting a nod from the sennin. "I've also got reports that Orochimaru is the one in charge of this new village. Perhaps he lacks the manpower and that's why he's going to the trouble of tricking another village. He intends to have the leaf wiped out perhaps."

The hokage let out a sigh before he waved his hand and the room was suddenly full of various ANBU operatives. "We must double our manpower, get all of our ninja back into active duty if possible and have planned escape routes for all civilians and children. Anyone genin and up are going to be required to fight if that is the case. We will keep the chuunin exams under way but all civilians will be evacuated and decoys of active ninja will take their place. All high ranking ninja will be positioned in key points around the city for quick defensive protocols.

I know the fire lord will be here, I want a four man squad to deliver a message to him with the details, if he is to come he must bring the full might of his guard to protect him as we plan out an evacuation procedure for him. Also, someone get me Iruka Umino here immediately." The Hokage ordered, and his ANBU vanished in a flash.

The sennin raised an eyebrow. "Why on earth do you want Iruka?" he asked "Because he knows where Naruto is." The man said. "Speaking of the boy, how is he doing? I was hoping I'd be able to train him just like I did for his old man." He said but frowned once he noticed the serious look in Sarutobi's eyes. "What?" he asked.

The hokage let out a sigh. "Naruto will be unable to be trained by you I'm afraid." He said, which nearly made the sennin angry. "Just because I wasn't around?" he asked, making the old man shake his head. "No, not because of that. Naruto is incapable of using chakra, so while the offer might be appreciated, there is nothing you can do for him."

Jiraiya narrowed his eyes. "What caused this?" he asked and Sarutobi gave another sigh. "Naruto was injured by a man named Sigma who disfigured the boy horribly. A man named Megaman X had appeared and fought off Sigma and saved the boys life by giving him a prosthetic body. Naruto was able to continue his ninja career thanks to this mans actions, but due to the actions of Sigma, Naruto has lost his ability to use chakra at all." He said, making Jiraiya stare in shock. "What about IT?" he asked and the hokage shook his head. "I do not know the condition of the seal or the influence of it on Naruto. He has shown no effects from having no chakra and despite having moments where he was angry, the fox has shown no signs of ever being active, so for all we know, when Naruto got his new body, the fox was killed for good or sealed off somehow. You would need to talk to Megaman X." he said.

"So who is this Megaman X?" Jiraiya asked, just as he did though, Iruka appeared in a puff of smoke. "You called for me lord hokage?" he said, making the man nod. "Iruka, I need you to go find Naruto and Megaman X. Bring them to my office if you can and tell them it is an emergency." With a nod, Iruka vanished and Jiraiya looked even more baffled.

"You will just have to wait Jiraiya. In due time you will meet them." He said, hoping that Megaman X would answer the call.

-Command Center-

"The hokage wants us to come see him?" X said, looking surprised at this information. Iruka gave a nod at the blue hunter. "He said it was an emergency and that he wished to speak with you and Naruto." X and Naruto looked at one another before they gave a nod, just as they were about to leave, Zero walked in. "I'm coming too. I need to hear this." He said and with that, the three of them went for Konoha.

-Hokages office-

It had been almost twenty minutes when Iruka entered the office with X, Zero and Naruto in tow. Just as they walked in, the Hokage did a seal and the office gave off a glow as the door shut. "Now then, we can speak in private." He said as everyone took a seat and gave their attention to the hokage.

"We have uncovered some information about our neighboring villages. While normally such matters would not concern outsiders, because of your connection to Naruto I feel it would be best to inform you of them." At X and Zero's confused look, he cleared his throat.

"There is a chance that in one months time, we will be going to war." The silence in the room was deafening before Naruto broke it. "What do you mean war? What the hell's going on?" he asked as the professor cleared his throat again.

"We've gotten word that the Kazekage, the leader of Sunagakure, was found dead in the outskirts of his own village, however he was spotted alive and well so we believe that a double has taken his place and he has allied himself with the sound village, the new village that has recently popped up on the map.

However, we've also received word that the leader of the sound village is Orochimaru, my old student and a defector of the leaf. We believe that with the sand village having participants in the exams, he will use that as an opportunity to sneak in ninja from both villages and attack. We already have plans in the works to evacuate the civilians and the fire lord. But here's where I decided to call you three in." he took a moment to take a few breaths.

"If we are to lose this war, I request that you take Naruto with you." He said, making the boys eyes widen. Just as he was about to argue however, X cut in. "I will do as you request." He said but Zero just shrugged. "I'll stay down here and help out as best as I can. If I sense that Naruto is in danger, I will grab him and get him out of Konoha and the rest will fall to you." He said, which made the Hokage blink in shock. "You wish to stay down and fight?" he asked, making the red hunter shrug. "It'll be easier this way." He said as X just looked away.

The hokage looked thoughtful for a moment before nodding. "If that is what you wish." He said, getting a nod. "With that out of the way, Naruto, you will be the one informed genin out there participating. What I want from you is to keep an eye out for anyone or anything suspicious, if you find it, deal with it in any manner you see fit. I also wish for you to inform any other genin you deem trustworthy with this information. We want as many prepared ninja as possible, but we don't want panicky ones to blow the secret that we know about this invasion." He said, getting a nod from Naruto before the blonde turned towards the sennin in the room.

"So who is this guy?" He asked, before Sarutobi could answer, the man broke out into a dance and summoned a giant toad. "I AM THE GREAT TOAD SAGE FROM MOUNT MIYABOKU!" he exclaimed, getting blank stares from everyone in the room before Zero leaned over to X.

"Am I the only one lost here?" and X just shook his head. Sarutobi coughed before mentally preparing himself for the worst. "Naruto, this man is your godfather." You could have heard a pin drop in the room and Naruto's face looked neutral but his eyes burned with anger. "I see. Any particular reason he wasn't around until now?" he asked, before Sarutobi could answer, Jiraiya spoke up.

"Well you see, I run a huge, elaborate spy network. Anything going on in the world, I can find out. This network along with a group of S rank missing nin I keep heavy tabs on. There's a group out there that call themselves the Akatsuki and they are after something. What it is, we don't know yet, but we do know that Orochimaru used to be a member and Itachi Uchiha is now among their ranks.

What a group of ninja that powerful are doing together, we are trying to find out, but it's not exactly easy. I've lost many good men out there." He said, his tone had changed from the joking one to a serious one.

"I wasn't even aware your parents were expecting, hell I didn't know you existed until you were four and it was after much digging that I found out who you were exactly. I was led to believe you were just a random orphan. It wasn't until I was back on the road did I get the information."

He explained all of this and Sarutobi gave a sigh. "I should probably cut in at this point, it was my decision for everything I'm about to explain and this is why." He focused all of his attention on Naruto which made the boy uneasy.

"Naruto, your parents, your heritage, it's time I told you. I was instructed by your father to never reveal this information until you at least made chuunin or I deemed you ready, well at this point I think you are more than ready." He said and the boys' eyes widened.

"Naruto, your mothers name was Kushina Uzumaki from the whirlpool village, a clan that specialized in sealing and combat. Sadly, they had made many enemies and after a time of war, were ambushed in their own village and almost completely wiped out. Your mother was in Konoha when this happened, she died giving birth to you." He said, making the boys' eyes widen bigger than before.

"Your father was Minato Namikaze, our fourth hokage." He said and the boy almost fell off of his seat in shock. "The man was a genius and the first and only ninja to ever attain the rank SS in the bingo book. He had killed over a thousand enemies in the blink of an eye thanks to his own special jutsu and he was the one who sealed the nine tailed fox into you the day you were born, which is what killed him." Sarutobi said, Naruto was leaning forward in his seat and upon hearing this information had leaned back into his seat with a dazed expression on his face.

"I know that telling you now might make you angry Naruto, but I ask that you think about this from your fathers' perspective. He had made many enemies in Iwagakure and Kumogakure wasn't on the best terms with us either. If any of them had learned of your true heritage, you would have had assassination attempts just for being related to the man, he asked us to hide your heritage until you were strong enough to protect yourself from the enemies he had made.

Make no mistake Naruto, both of your parents loved you very much. In fact, they left some things behind for you." He said, catching the boys' attention. At this, Sarutobi pulled out two scrolls and placed them on his desk and pushed them towards Naruto who picked them up and opened them immediately.

He quickly read through the first note and let out a sigh before he closed it and put away. "It was a note from my father, explaining his situation and saying how much he loved me." He said, making the other people in the room smile.

He opened the other scroll and his eyes widened. "What…this is directions to a house?" he asked and the hokage nodded. "Your fathers home now belongs to you, along with all of his other assets that he passed on to you. Hidden bank accounts, training scrolls, the forbidden scroll…these are just some of the things that rightfully belong to you." He said, making the boy and a few others gape in shock.

"No one aside from Jiraiya actually knew of your heritage and Jiraiya only found out because he looked into it after seeing you. However, you look a lot like your father, so it was only a matter of time before someone pointed it out." He said, getting a chuckle from the sennin.

"This brings me to asking a couple of questions myself." The hokage said, catching the attention of everyone. "Naruto, did you know about the fox sealed inside you?" he said and Naruto gave a nod. "Mizuki said something about it but that was the last time it was ever brought up." He said, and the old man nodded.

"Ever since your change, have you felt anything from the seal?" he asked and at this point X jumped in. "If I may, the energy source that was inside of Naruto was causing issues with the operation and we had to remove it and contain it in something else." He explained getting wide eyed looks from Sarutobi and Jiraiya. "You removed it?! Without killing Naruto?!" he asked in shock making everyone else jump.

"Yes. It was just a massive form of energy, so we transferred it into something else." The blue hunter explained, getting bewildered stares from everyone else in the room. "What did you transfer it into?" Jiraiya asked.

"A battery." X said with a shrug. "We're currently using it to power one of our ships. Once the battery runs dry, that'll be the end of it." he explained, the two older men and Iruka stared at X in awe, glanced at each other before looking back at X who was starting to feel uncomfortable at all the staring.

"Megaman X, you have done us a huge service, much bigger than you may even realize. If I were to be serious, you have quite possibly saved our world and millions of lives in the future." The hokage said, making the reploids eyes widen in shock.

"What? What did I even do?" he said, and Iruka cut in at this point and began to retell the story of how the fox had caused destruction and mayhem and how there were more than just the fox, but the fox was the most powerful of them all. With them finding a way to successfully hold the fox and drain off its power in such an effective manner, they had accomplished what they could only dream of.

X felt a bit off put how they were praising him since he didn't see the issue but he just went with it and nodded at their thanks. The hokage turned towards Iruka and nodded at the man. "Take a note of today Iruka, I want you to discuss this with future generations and tell them this story." He said as the teacher pulled out a scroll and began to write down the details before pocketing the scroll.

"Now then, what else is there to discuss…ah yes. Zero, if you are serious about helping out, then I would like for you to go under disguise as one of my guards in the booth. You will have full view of everything in the arena from there." He said, getting a nod from the red hunter.

At this point Naruto cut in. "That boy from Suna, Gaara was his name. He has a very strange energy type coming off of his body compared to other people." At this he got confused looks from everyone and the boy pointed as his face to elaborate.

"Digital eye. I can see chakra with one of the settings and normally the energy readings are white, but his energy was yellow, and much bigger compared to everyone else. Do you think he could contain one of these creatures?" he asked which got Jiraiya and the hokage talking to one another for a short time.

"Thank you for bringing this information to our knowledge Naruto. If the boy does indeed contain a tailed beast, then this poses a serious problem, especially if he is among the invasion. I fear they might plan to have him unleash the monster upon us." Naruto gave a nod before he spoke up. "I think something is wrong with him, both times I've encountered him, he's said something about his mother wanting my blood." He explained, getting worried looks from a few people.

"It sounds like his seal is unstable and the creature is trying to control him. I wonder if I could get a look at his seal, if he even is a container for that matter." He said. He then turned towards Naruto. "Do you think you can find this kid again?" and Naruto nodded.

"Jiraiya, why don't you two go do that while I discuss things further with Iruka and Zero?" he said, getting a nod from the toad sage before he and Naruto left the office.

After they had left, the hokage turned back to the hunters in his office and sighed. "That went better than I expected." He said, although neither of the androids said anything. For a moment nothing was said until Sarutobi finally sat up straight.

"I have a bit more explaining to do about some of the procedures going on with the plan, along with some small bits of history I feel like I should share." He said, getting a nod from the two hunters before he began to speak.

-Naruto-

He was leading Jiraiya through the town right towards where he could see the energy coming off of Gaara. The older man was trying to make small talk with the boy but he was getting ignored. The toad sage frowned and tried to change the topic.

"So believe it or not, but I was your fathers instructor." He said, the boy didn't seem to react so he kept pushing. "If you want, I could train y-" "Not interested." The boy said, making the man blink in shock. "Besides, I can't use chakra. There's not a lot you can teach me." He said and the man chuckled. "Oh but there are still SOME things I can teach you." He said as Naruto let out a sigh, this guy was persistent he would give him that.

"Example?" he said, making the sennin go "hmm" as if he were deep in thought. "How about a fighting style?" he asked and the blonde shook his head. "I don't use taijutsu and it wouldn't be effective with me." He said, making the man narrow his eyes. "Not effective eh? That's a new one. Well then how about you tell me what kind of training you want and I'll hook you up." He said and the blonde shook his head again.

"I have the best training I can get from Megaman X and Zero. They're the only ones who can help me." He said and the man snorted. "Really now. What are they teaching you that I can't help you with?" he asked and Naruto came to a stop, turned around and let his hologram flicker and showed his body without the armor, his flesh and metal body made the mans eyes widen. "How to use my new body." He said and with that he turned and continued walking. The rest of the trip was spent in silence.

Once they arrived at the hotel where Naruto claimed Gaara's energy was coming from, the toad sage went in first and once they made it to the boys room, he opened the door and to his surprise, all three genin from the competition were in here. At their questioning looks, the toad sage raised his hands in a placating manner.

"Relax kids. I'm here to see the one called Gaara." He said, making two of them widen their eyes before the redhead stood up. "I am Gaara. What do you want?" he said, and Jiraiya smirked. "So the word is you are a container." He said, and he could tell the kids in front of him immediately were on edge.

"I am the container of the one tailed raccoon. What business is that of yours?" Gaara asked as he turned to look at Jiraiya. "Well it sounds to me like you've been having some trouble. I'm a seal expert and was offering my services to take a look at it." He said. The redhead stared blankly at Jiraiya for a moment until he walked up to the man and exposed his stomach, showing off the seal.

"Hmm, let's see here…" Jiraiya muttered as he knelt down and began to look at the seal. He frowned after a bit. "Whoever did this seal was an amateur and did it all wrong. I can fix this and your little friend there might finally give you some peace." He said.

"I can sleep?" the redhead asked with an actual hint of hope in his voice. "Yeah, you'll also stop hearing voices too. So are you interested?" he asked and Gaara immediately grabbed his head as if he were in pain. "Shut up…SHUT UP!" he yelled as some sand flared around him.

Finally he looked at Jiraiya with an annoyed expression on his face. "Do it. If you are trying to trick me however, I will kill you without hesitation." The boy said, making the man nod before he had Gaara take off his shirt and lie in the center of the room as he began to go about drawing seals everywhere.

Temari, Kankuro and Naruto were enthralled with how quickly the man was going about his work. After what felt like hours, the man had finally finished drawing and after a series of hand seals, the seal began to glow and the ink seemed to pop off of the floor and walls before it flew onto Gaara's stomach. The redhead let out a scream as this was going on and finally after a flash of light, the sealing was done and the boy was panting on the ground.

His eyes widened however after a few moments. "The voices…they're gone…" he whispered before he closed his eyes and soon the sound of snoring was heard, getting a gasp from the other two teens in the room.

"He should be fine, for now let him sleep. Once he wakes up, bring him to the hokages office and tell him to call for Jiraiya." He said, and with that both he and Naruto left. As they made their way back to the office, Jiraiya gave a small hmm.

"So that explains everything." He said as they walked, Naruto was mainly ignoring him again. "With your body in that condition, you can't channel chakra. I thought it was odd I couldn't sense any chakra off of you. So I take it Megaman X and Zero have similar conditions?" he asked and Naruto sighed.

"They aren't human, they're androids. Robots made to look and act exactly like human beings. Another android by the name of Sigma attacked me and sliced me apart. They're the ones who saved me by giving me this body." He said and the older man hummed again.

"So I don't see why taijutsu won't work, unless your body is too heavy." He said, but Naruto aimed his hand, which turned into his buster gun and he fired it at a nearby tree that exploded apart making the older man jump in shock. "It's not that my body is heavy, but I have other methods of fighting. Long range with my buster gun, close range with my z-saber. I have no chakra so genjutsu doesn't work on me. Ninjutsu can be pushed off thanks to my armor and taijutsu has to be really strong to be able to even hurt me through the armor as well." He said, and the man nodded before he pointed at Naruto's face.

"But what about weapons? Say you took a kunai to the eye or something." He said and the boy shrugged. "One is fake, even if they hit the real eye, I wouldn't die from that." And the sennin continued. "But what about being stabbed somewhere else?" and the boy chuckled.

"There's nothing for you to be concerned about. With my armor, the only exposed part of my face is my eyes and I can't be killed from that. Honestly, I'm a ninjas worst nightmare next to a samurai." He said getting a chuckle from the other man.

"You're amazing kid. I can't wait to see what you're fully capable of." He said as he gave the boy a pat on the shoulder.
