Naruto X

AN: Let's keep on rolling.

It was around noon when the team from sand had shown up in the hokages office. He called Jiraiya and Naruto to the office and once they were there, the boy expressed his thanks to Jiraiya, who quickly dismissed it and told him that it was Naruto who had even brought the issue to his attention.

That was when the boy decided to drop some bombshells. "I wish to become a ninja of the leaf." He said, taking the two with him by complete surprise and nearly making the hokage drop his pipe.

"Gaara, you can't be serious?" Temari asked him which he only gave a nod too. "I am serious. Sand viewed me as nothing more than a monster and tried to utilize me as a tool for their purposes. I'm barely in this village for more than a week and I've been given more help than I could have possibly wished for. As far as I'm concerned, that place can rot." He said, making his siblings look nervous.

"You two might want to leave after this." He said, and they looked at each other before nodding and then turning to the hokage. "Fine then. Sign us up too." Kankuro said, shocking Gaara and the leaf ninja as well.

"Gaara's our baby brother. Where he goes, we go." Temari said and the redhead had the decency to look slightly embarrassed about that. The hokage looked surprised for a moment until he nodded and began to go about the paperwork. After all that was taken care of, Gaara, Temari and Kankuro tossed their headbands into the garbage can and were now sporting new ones with leaf symbols on them.

"Now the next part. The sound village is planning to attack the leaf during the chuunin exams and the sand village is in on it." He said, making the others frown. "I knew it." Sarutobi said as he turned and gave a nod to Jiraiya who pulled out his notebook and began to write some things down on it.

"They planned for me to transform in the middle of my fight and wreck destruction. I can give you a few of the other plans they had in mind." The redhead said and the hokage gave the boy a nod as he and with the help of his siblings, began to speak of what they knew of the plan.

-Sakura-

Hayate knocked the girl down and her sword flew out of her hands as she fell into the water, she was panting heavily and the weights she had on her limbs and body made the previous ones look like an absolute joke. They were fighting on water and Sakura was forced to use the weights while they trained. Honestly she thought she was going to die a few times. Hayate frowned at the girl. "You were too slow on the reaction and not only that, you let go of your weapon." He said. She managed to get back up onto the water and retrieved her sword, but now it was worse for her. With her weights getting wet, they were heavier and Hayate wasn't going to give her the time to dry off.

He had been informed by the hokage that war was upon them and while he was told to not tell Sakura, he was told to train her as best as he could within that one months time, so Hayate kicked it up faster than he normally would have and was pushing the girl beyond her limits. She was catching on fast, but there were still some obvious kinks. The first was she was still a bit weak despite her previous trainings and her stamina was pitiful.

It was only day three but they were making some good progress. However, she had a bit of an issue. If she got extremely annoyed or pissed past a certain level, it was as if she changed personalities entirely and while she showed almost master level progress with the training while angry, she was way more aggressive and bloodthirsty than he was comfortable with.

The girl honestly freaked him out the first time she got angry. Her emerald green eyes turned a dark red and she got white streaks in her hair before she began to move around as if the weights weren't affecting her. Hayate was honestly hard pressed fighting her when this change had happened and the two of them had nearly landed some good killing blows on one another.

But after he defeated her or fought her for an extended period of time, she would calm down in the same manner like she always did. Let out a huge sigh, her features would change back and she was hunched over and breathing deeply.

He never really pressed the issue, taking the girl for some kind of berserker and kept training her and hoping she wouldn't flip out from stress. Thankfully she only had two episodes so far and hadn't had one today which was a good thing in his book. The more control she had, the better in his opinion.

Just as he thought that, he countered her and knocked her down again, only this time she remained on top of the water and when she sat up, her eyes were red and her hair had the white streaks in them. He groaned inwardly before shifting his stance and getting serious. Though he had to hand it to the girl, he hasn't had an actual challenge in a long time and even though she was technically very new, her berserker side was providing him with a much needed worthy opponent in the way of the sword.

However, today things went too far. As they were fighting, she completely managed to shred his sword apart and a piece of the shrapnel hit her left eye which completely reverted her and she began to freak out.

Now he was at the hospital and once she was cleared, she had a bandage around her eye and was told that it would never function again. With a heavy sigh, he told her that training was done for the day and she needed to adjust to life without the use of her eye for the rest of the day.

As she was trying to decide on what she was even going to do, she ran into Naruto who freaked out over her eye and took her with him to the command center and practically begged Paramedic to help her.

The reploid agreed but said the operation would take some time and asked Naruto to leave while he prepared Sakura for surgery. That was the last Naruto had seen the girl since when he returned later to check on her, Paramedic said the operation was a success and she had left on her own.

Naruto shrugged and went back to his own training.

-Sasuke-

To say Sasuke was in hell would be an accurate description of the training Kakashi was putting the boy through. He had more than doubled the boys weights, had him take on an insane course of training that would have made Might Gai proud and Kakashi told him that to even start learning the basics of the new jutsu he wanted to teach him, he needed to be comfortable with the current level of training he was doing.

Cursing under his breath that there was no way in hell he could ever get accustomed to this, he continued training every day until he was ready to collapse and the next day would get back up and do it all again.

However there came the issue that Sasuke was ignoring the curse seal on his neck. Kakashi hadn't fully sealed it off and it kept whispering to him and urging him to use its power.

The boy was ignoring it and fighting it as best as he could but quite honestly it was getting on his nerves. He told Kakashi about this and the man gave a sigh as he took him to the hokage who had Jiraiya look at it. While the man was unable to remove the seal, he was able to block it off better than Kakashi had and Sasuke finally had some peace of mind and with renewed vigor, went to his training.

He finally began to get the hang of his training when finally Kakashi broke him out of his musings and had the boy test his elemental affinity, the boy was lighting and fire. While Kakashi was tempted to teach the boy the chidori, but he did not have his sharingan or the speed to effectively make use of it. So instead he began to teach the boy other jutsu as best as he could.

That was when Kakashi had a moment of insight and asked the hokage if he could get in touch with Naruto. After having Iruka fetch the boy, he asked Naruto different questions such as if Megaman X was really from the future or a different world entirely and once those were answered, he wanted to know if there were any unique fighting styles that they had that would be unique to Konoha.

After getting clearance from X, he brought Kakashi with him and the two studied the database for two days until Kakashi had finally found something and thanks to his sharingan, copied down everything he could and went back to Sasuke.

That was when he began to teach the boy about a style known as boxing, where he would only use his fists that focused on speed and power. Sasuke thought the name was incredibly weird, but he went along with it. Soon Sasuke's entire style had changed completely to work on this new one and he had to admit that he liked it. The speed and raw power was amazing and he felt great compared to the other style Kakashi had him learning.

Though this style required him to be way faster than Kakashi intended and also made him increase his upper body training nearly tenfold, he thought it was worth it. That was when Kakashi began to teach him elemental control and pushed Sasuke hard into learning it.

-Zero-

The maverick hunter stared at the hologram in front of him. The pale man with long black hair was chuckling darkly as he pulled a sword out of his mouth and Zero pulled out his z-saber and the two charged at each other. The two were evenly matched for some time until the man reached forward and some snakes flew out of his sleeve and attempted to bite down on Zero's arm, only for the hunter to fire his own buster which destroyed the snakes and made Orochimaru jump back.

The man suddenly summoned an enormous black snake and Zero quickly began to fire at it in key points of its body before it lunged at him. He moved back out of the way and then quickly charged in once the snakes head got closer to the ground and he slashed it across the face.

It reared back and let out a loud hiss before swinging at him with its tail. Zero quickly jumped onto the tail and began to charge up it as Orochimaru rushed down to attack him. The snake sennin swung at Zero who quickly parried and with a slash, had taken the other mans hand off.

Using his other hand, he made the sword fly at Zero from behind and he got impaled. He stared down at the sword in his chest before frowning and lunging at the guy whose eyes widened before Zero pulled his sword behind him and aimed his buster forward which suddenly shot out another saber made of electricity that impaled the man through the chest before he vanished and a log was in his place.

Suddenly he turned his body and sliced downward, catching the man trying to attack him and cutting him down the middle. The hologram flickered before everything vanished and Zero was standing in the simulation room and smirked. "Heh. If that's all he's capable of, then this will be a piece of cake." He said aloud before he turned and gave a nod to the control room. Sarutobi emerged dressed in his combat armor and the program re-launched. Sarutobi and Zero got into a battle stance and charged the simulated Orochimaru.

X watched with a small tinge of sadness. He hated fighting and war, while he would prefer to not have any part in this, he had given his word to take Naruto if things got too heated. It wasn't like he didn't want to help either, he couldn't.

The enemies they would be fighting were other humans. X couldn't kill a human, no matter the circumstance, but after some thought, realized he didn't need to fight to help out. So he had agreed to help even further by offering medical aid if needed and would even help evacuate some of the civilians.

A few other reploids thought this was insane of their commander, but relented and prepared themselves by getting training in areas where they could possibly help.

Paramedic was doing his best to try and pass his knowledge of medical arts to other reploids as best as he could, but he feared it would not be enough. Especially since his knowledge on humans was limited and others just lacked the skill.

Areas were being cleared out and room was being made for the influx of humans they would be receiving. Everyone was pretty much busy and frantically going about their assigned tasks.

While Zero and Sarutobi trained in the other room, Naruto was in a separate simulator run by Axl who was letting the boy finish up on some more of his training. Once that was finished however, Axl informed the boy that he was going to take on a much harder training than before.

Seeing the boys confused look, he launched a familiar looking training simulation and noticed that these were the enemies he first encountered. He was wondering what Axl meant about this training being harder but he noticed it immediately when he didn't have any of his previous upgrades from before and Vile was hitting him for even more damage than he remembered.

And then the nightmare began. Vile had his battle walker hold one of its arms forward and machine gun fire rained all around. Naruto was very hard pressed to dodge and almost got himself hit quite a few times, but he managed to defeat the purple reploid.

It took some time but Naruto eventually managed to make his way through this training, allowing his memory to serve as a guide. Although the capsules were in different locations, he still found them and he did have to admit, it was way harder this time around. All the mavericks had new tricks up their sleeves and were much more aggressive, but what really shined was Axl actually enabled their dialogue tracks and he got to listen in on what they said to each other before the fight began.

But then things got weird. After he defeated Sigma, Axl put him back at the main screen but suddenly Naruto found himself wearing Viles armor! When he looked at Axl in confusion, the hunter shrugged and said "Trust me. This will be good." and launched the training.

It was quite different than using his buster gun. He had three different weapon types and had unlimited energy, but he didn't have the dash ability, so he felt a bit naked. Then he had to fight X. It was rough going but he figured out that he could abuse the grenade launcher in his leg and that was how he beat X before Zero came in and saved him.

Deciding that this entire thing was going to be strange, he just remained silent and rolled with it before going to Chill Penguins stage.

After he defeated Chill Penguin, he noticed that Vile had very different upgrades. He actually got armor from defeating Chill Penguin instead of having to find a capsule, but after that he was stumped on what to do and just began to wander around.

As he was listening to the dialogue, he found out that Vile and Spark Mandrill used to be friends. Aside from his upgrades and fighting style being drastically different, there was no real difference to what he actually had to do for the training. Although there were quite a few secrets that really took him a long time to find such as the heart tank in Sting Chameleons base or the sub tank hidden in Storm Eagles base.

Then the thing that completely threw him for a loop was him having to actually fight Megaman X and Zero, at the same time. X was wearing his Light armor and using the upgrades he got from the mavericks, Zero was using his buster and his saber along with being able to shield himself from small attacks.

Then the two began to pull off combination attacks or attack at the same time as X was using his powers in ways Naruto had never thought of (or knew he could do actually) and it took everything he had to finally take one of them down, only for the other to destroy him.

It was an ongoing struggle honestly and it took Naruto almost a full two hours to finally defeat X and Zero. At first it was on account of him not wanting to actually fight them, but seeing them not pulling their punches and remembering it was a hologram, began to fight back just as hard.

Although the boy was no match for the more experienced hunters and it was due to him finally deciding that he needed to take one of them out before they started doing team attacks which is what was giving him the most trouble. So whenever one was out, he would go full burst and attempt to take that hunter down.

The strategy worked finally and he took Zero down and barely dodged a charge shot from X before retaliating with a shot from his shoulder cannon and he defeated X. Naruto fell to his knees panting and sweating as the simulation faded.

Once the room cleared, X was standing next to a nervous looking Axl and he didn't seem all too pleased, Naruto didn't look their way however and moved to a sitting position. "Remind me to never fight X or Zero for real. If I want my butt kicked, I'll just try to fight Vile in his combat walker again." He said, which made the blue reploid smile before he turned and walked out of the room which caught Naruto off guard and Axl to let out a sigh of relief.

"What was that all about?"

-Fast forward to the end of the month-

The day was finally here. Sarutobi was going over final preparations with some of his ninja, Hayate had given Sakura a katana of her very own, Ibiki and Anko smirked evilly at a jounin named Baki as he was restrained in a room with three white walls and a giant one way mirror as the fourth.

He had come back to talk to Gaara, Temari and Kankuro regarding the invasion and when he demanded an explanation for them having leaf headbands, the redhead wrapped the man in sand and had deposited him in the hokages office.

Kakashi gave a nod of approval at Sasuke as he changed into black shorts, a near form fitting t-shirt, some boots and had taken to wrapping his knuckles in cloth. Jiraiya was talking to some ANBU in the outer section of the village while Iruka with the help of some reploids, went about evacuating civilians and academy students to the command center.

Zero checked his disguise over once more to make sure he looked like a regular human as X issued orders to different sections on what to expect and how to go about it while Naruto put on his combat armor, checked the panel on his arm to make sure it was operational before he gave a nod to Axl and warped out to the arena.

Several ninja were now occupying the streets and the arena disguised as regular civilians come to see the show. What stood out to a few of the ninja and even took the hokage by surprise were the samurai that had shown up and were positioning themselves in buildings and hiding in other locations.

The fire lord had spared no expense and had recruited mercenaries to help defend the village while he and his personal guard took their seats. The contestants had shown up and quite a few of them looked shocked at everything going on around them but were shocked the most when team 7 had shown up.

Sasuke's new look had garnered lots of unwanted attention from his fangirls. Sakura had shown up and had changed out of her red dress. Instead, she had on a dark blue armored shirt, spats (biker shorts for those who don't know), and she had cut her hair down to be shoulder length, but what really stood out the most on her was the dark blue clothe hung around her face acting as an eyepatch.

When Naruto did a scan on it, it was revealed to actually function like millions of eyes that gave the girl perfect 360 degree vision. Honestly he was a bit jealous of her and Naruto had dropped his hologram and was showing off his dark silver and gray armor.

Gaara had shown up and surprised everyone yet again when he gave a nod of acknowledgement to Naruto and showed them his leaf headband wrapped around the straps in front of his chest.

With a quick fist bump to each other, team 7 grinned and looked out towards the field. They were ready.
