Aliens and Dragons
A new chapter. Yeah that's very obvious at this point but I still have to say it. Sorry if it took me so long. Mixing the two universes isn't easy at all. Specially keeping things mostly leveled and at the same time changing important facts for the future parts of the saga.
Anyhow, let's read!
Chapter 6: Alien Power
The next day, the two Kryptonian relatives and their Saiyan friend were looking over the new satellite pictures, though Goku was having some trouble in knowing what they were looking for. Scratch that, he had no idea what they were looking for. He wasn't a detective or anything like that.
"Um, sorry but I really don't understand what we are trying to discover here" The palm-haired alien commented in confusion rubbing his punk-haired head.
"A lead in a Zoner's warpath" Kara explained, her eyes darting into her blood cousin exasperation written all over her pretty face "Remind me again how you could let the Phantoms escape with you"
"It was an accident Kara" Clark explained "The escape portal was obviously unstable and some prisoners went after me"
"Only Jor-El would actually create a way out of a prison" The blonde commented to herself. As Earthling said, she wanted to facepalm. With a brick. She could accurately say that his uncle had quirks when he lived. But that would be an insult to all the other quirks in the entire universe.
The Saiyan looked at one picture in particular, that indicated the particular zones where there have been registered accidents. Weird accidents that were too much of a sheer coincidence. Goku was no genius but his mind wasn't that of a fool either.
"Sorry guys. I'm no expert at this tracking Zoners thing but aren't we here?" Goku said and asked, pointing to the Kansas place where Smallville was located.
"And these attacks over these cities, aren't they making a straight line into us?" The Saiyan kept on, suddenly getting the two Kryptonians to widen their eyes.
"Whoever attacked these places knows how to track Jor-El' scent" Kara stated grimly. She knew some prisoners were psychotic murders, who made those psychopaths from Earth look like sweet cuddling puppies.
"That scent being me, right?" Clark asked to his cousin and the blonde beauty nodded. Of course, Kara didn't say that she also had that unique scent.
Kara and Goku heightened their respective senses, Kara her super hearing and Goku in energy sensing. An ambush wasn't something they were going to simply idly wait until it happened to them. There was an incoming thing heading their way.
"There!" Kara and Goku yelled at the same time, both aliens hastily turning around the Kryptonian firing her heat vision and the Saiyan firing his yellow ki blast. The two attacks hit the accurate mark, sending a blur motion of a body flying away by the combined power of thousands of tons of dynamite. The three aliens quickly went after the knocked back intruder.
She was a young female, almost as old as Kara or maybe younger. She had light brown hair and was dressed in common Earth clothes. She was pretty no doubt but she was also familiar to the two Kryptonians of the House of El.
"Raya?" Both Kara and Clark asked in shock after recognizing the new stranded alien female.
"Kara?" The new woman looked at the blonde girl and then at Clark "Kal-El" The Saiyan's head moved back and forth, trying to get a clear picture of what was happening around him.
"Wait, you know each other?" Goku asked to both Clark and Raya, his eyes going like a tennis match between the Kryptonian team.
"Raya helped me escape from the Phantom Zone" Clark explained towards his alien friend.
"And you two know each other as well?" The Saiyan asked Kara and Raya now.
"We were on Krypton. We even went to the same academy before the planet was destroyed" Kara explained to Goku. The blonde helped her old friend get back to her feet. Her clothes had no damage except for some dirt spots here and there.
"I later become Jor El's assistant" The new Kryptonian in the farm explained. Her eyes darted into the funk-haired man "I am sorry but who are you?" The Solar alieness asked to Goku.
"The name's Goku" The Saiyan said, shaking hands with the new female "I'm from Earth. But not the Earth you know"
"He means he comes from an Earth in another dimension" Kara explained towards Raya in a more scientific language.
"Jor-El theorized the existence of other universes but he never got to prove it" The new female Kryptonian stated, remembering the theories back on the advanced planet. She couldn't help but feel intrigued about the countless possibilities of finding more dimensions.
The Saiyan twisted his head something heading their way at great speed.
"Look out!" Goku exclaimed, his open palm shooting a concentrated air blast towards his fellow alien friends that moved them away from an incoming purple energy beam. The unexpected blast kicked up a storm of dust and shook the entire barn to the core.
A black-skinned man showed up. He was barely a teenager. But despite his look and physical appearance, he was no human at all. Goku could feel a bizarre ki emanating from him.
"What do you want?" Clark asked, obviously knowing the answer from the Phantom assassin.
"I was looking for the Last Son of Krypton so to pay him back for the treatment your father gave me by sending me to the Zone Hell" The Phantom Zoner replied with malice, his eyes diverted into Kara and Raya. He suddenly smirked like a hungry predator "But a few Daughters of Krypton will also do the trick" He rose his hand aiming for his targets. He would kill them quickly and painlessly. No better way when one was in a great mood.
The next thing he knew, however, his hand was diverted upwards and a sharp uppercut blow landed on his chin with immaculate precision. The Phantom was sent careening backwards although more bothered than injured. He looked at his orange-dressed opponent with freaky hair style.
"And who the Hell are you?" The black-skinned man asked rubbing his chin.
"The name's Goku" The Saiyan replied, his body standing ready for the fight.
"Don't know who you are, don't care either" The Zoner stated honestly while his hands took aim again. The palm-haired fighter did too concentrating his own energy.
The two beams clashed mid air, sparkles going over the farm. Both combatants remained pouring energy into their clash. Until Goku started gaining more ground. His yellow energy was getting closer to the Zoner. Baern sweat. He knew he was in troubles. His reserves wouldn't last long enough to defeat the freak-haired pest.
Goku' shot finally overpowered Baern's, sending the alien flying away for a couple of meters. He stood up again, however, only slightly burned from the ki attack. That mistake was soon corrected by Kara's fast heat vision blast. It made Baern screech in agony while his body flew away into the distance.
"Nice move, Kara" Goku complemented. The blonde smiled by the praise.
"Don't haste in declaring victory" Raya said now, her tone serious "Baern is from a race that feeds on nuclear energy. He was obviously getting weaker during the fight"
"Then where did he go?" Clark asked, not liking whatever answer he would get.
"To recharge, for sure" Kara chimed in with an obvious tone.
"I don't know if there's enough nuclear energy on a power plant to put him on our level" The farm alien commented to his cousin.
"Hey guys" Chloe showed up in scene. She looked around the trashed place, eyes mildly opened in surprise. She had worst living conditions with Lois "Did I miss a party or something?"
"No, but it was quite the blast" The Saiyan commented with mirth. The blonde reporter shook her head from the joke.
"Anyway, I was in the Daily Planet doing my business, when Lois showed up and you know Lois, always doing something reckless and without thinking and that's when..." The hot reporter said all together and without taking a breath.
"Chloe, breath" Clark stopped her while the three other people tried to hide their amusement by the rambling.
"Yeah, breath. I'm spending far too much time with my cousin" The Daily reporter sighed and kept on "As I was saying, Lois was... well, being Lois when she discovered this" The reporter showed what looked like blueprints. The two female aliens from Krypton recognized it. It was the same device Lex had in his office. But not for that fact but for something worse.
"That's part of the Brain Interactive Construct" Raya commented aghast.
"Wait a second, Brainiac is on Earth?" Kara asked towards her cousin and Raya in shock. That machine was a menace. And that was not counting who it worked for.
"You know him?" Clark asked in surprise. The blonde alieness nodded her head grimly.
"Major Zod created it and programmed it to restore Krypton, should he ever die" Kara explained, her tone not very cheering up "Which he did when his body was destroyed and then sent to rot in the Phantom Zone"
"And it's obvious that machine is now on Earth" The escaped Kryptonian from the Phantom Zone continued.
"Don't worry about him. I destroyed him" Clark said towards Raya.
"A machine like Brainiac always has fail safes, Kal-El" The new alien lady said looking at the Son of the House of El "I thought your training would have taught you that"
"I haven't started my training yet" The farm alien raised on Earth said his tone not very happy "The Fortress doesn't work properly"
"Look we have to concentrate on getting Baern's attention" Clark stated towards his friends, going back to the topic. He didn't want to discuss about losing the only thing remaining from his home world.
"But how? I can't feel his energy from this far away" Goku chimed in. The man had gone to far and had lost a lot of energy to be found so easily.
"I know how" Raya stated towards the group.
Now in the Luthor mansion, the bald CEO rubbed his chin in deep thoughts. He had to plan two steps ahead of his enemies and three ahead of his friends. Not that he had any. Only acquaintances and people to use as he saw fit. There was a knock in his door and a man dressed in a business suit stepped in. His face though showed some obvious bad news.
"How is everything doctor?" Lex Luthor asked the doctor in his office.
"Tobias is asking a lot of questions. I'm afraid he might refuse the next time he is needed to find another one of those mutant freak" The doctor stated towards his boss with not a very cheerful tone.
Before Lex could say anything, however, his doors were blasted of their hinges, glass and wooden splinters flying like sharp daggers. Lex was no fool in murder attempts on his life so he easily took cover behind his desk. The doctor, however, was not so lucky and he received the shards into his body killing him in just seconds by blood-lost.
A dark-skinned man walked in, feeling the beaconing of the amazing well of alien power.
"Who are you?!" Lex bellowed, pointing at the intruder with a handgun he retrieved from beneath his desk. The invader never said anything simply looking at the Kryptonian device. Lust for power ran through his beady eyes. He walked forward, Lex's bullets bouncing away from his hard skin. Even weak the Phantom was still too strong for any normal human.
Grabbing the alien device, the nuclear-powered alien absorbed the Kryptonian energies amplifying his own abilities beyond the limits. His eyes shone purple while he grinned with malice.
Now the Children of the house of El will pay. He dashed away leaving a confused and angry Luthor and a turned-to-dust alien device.
"Wow" That was the honest statement that came out of Goku while his eyes traveled all over the gigantic Fortress of Solitude. The crystal-made building was marveling the Saiyan's senses to the fullest. The place had an aura of grimness. It was a rather cold environment, been placed in the Arctic but non of the aliens were suffering by that fact.
"Don't get too excited, Goku" Kara declared with mirth by looking at her friend going frantic. It was quite a rudimentary technology left from Krypton. But still ages ahead of anything Earth had developed so far. But not good equipped "It's obvious that Jor-El picked up the lousy furniture" Clark would have laughed by the accurate joke but his mind was more focused on defeating a prisoner.
"So what do I do Raya?" Clark asked to his prison friend "Because as far as I know, the Fortress is dead" Raya didn't seem to think that, as her eyes scrutinized every little detail around the ice structure. Her sight found what she wanted.
"There" She pointed at a particular set of icicles "If you activate them, Baern will be able to detect the signal of the Fortress and bring him here" Clark did so. He stepped forward into the icicles changing their place into a different pattern. Then a high-pitched sound echoed all over the globe. Clark, Kara, Raya and Goku had to cover their sensible ears from the annoying noise. It almost made their ears bleed.
"So this is the last Fortress of Krypton?" Baern declared, looking around with scrutinizing eyes of condescending "I thought it'd be better" Goku stepped into a fighting stance. The power increment from their last fight had been massive.
"Don't worry, you won't see a lot of it" Kara stated with her knuckles cracking.
"Kryptonians speak a lot of bullshit on these days. Maybe the power of the yellow sun only fries your brains!" The Zoner stated with a conniving tone. Kara would have non of that and flew straight into her enemy. Baern's eyes shone with his newly-obtained power, his eye blast sending the female alien careening into another room like a fright train. Goku's body flared up five times normal with the red power-up technique, his dash getting him near his enemy in no time. The Saiyan rose his foot up to almost ninety degrees, his ankle ready to land with an axe-strike.
The Phantom, however, only shot his hand up to stop the blow.
"Not this time monkey!" The Zoner bellowed, quickly using Goku's leg as a pole to whip him into a crystal-made wall with the strength of an artillery missile. With two pests out Baern set his eyes on the remaining two aliens.
"And now the Son of El" The phantom declared, his purple blast aimed perfectly from his hand. Even for a Kryptonian's super senses, Clark's never saw the attack coming his way. Until someone pushed him out of the way and took the blast for him.
The purple beam went straight through Raya's body, her body flying backwards like a rag doll to crash against the crystal wall.
"Raya!" The male Kryptonian screamed, running towards his fallen friend.
"Apparently I killed her" The Zoner stated with barely-hidden evil mirth, his hand releasing some smoke.
Kara walked out of the debris, her clothes a bit ragged and her head pounding a bit. She saw the Zoner looking at her.
Baern aimed his hand towards the female Zor-El but a devastating knee blow crashed his skull from above, Goku powered up seven times arriving from the sky. The frozen ground caved in a bit by the onslaught of pressure. Baern recoiled in pain, his head cracked and bleeding. Kara attacked with deadly fury, her fists a blur that knocked the shit out of the escaped Zoner. A monstrous hook sent the prisoner spiraling away almost beheaded by the superhuman strength of the deadly blonde beauty.
The Saiyan shot his hands forward cupped together.
"Haaaa!" Goku's yellow blast encompassed the escaped alien, destroying him down to the last atom. The Saiyan catched his breath after using a bit more power than he first wanted.
The farm alien was on his knees tears falling down his face. His friend form that hell of prison was gone. Next to Clark, Kara was just as devastated. Losing a friend and a member of their scarce race was just a hard blow to take.
Goku hunched his head eye-closed to show his respect. While he didn't know a lot of Raya he still knew how the pain of loss could burden once's mind.
The dark atmosphere of the Fortress suddenly came alive, like if someone had switched the lights on. Clark knew what that meant. And he wasn't in the best mood for his bullshit.
"Jor-El, show yourself!" The male alien stood up in defiance.
"You see now Kal-El?" The voice of Jor-El stated out of nowhere, sounding ominous but devoid of emotions or empathy by the recent events. Kara and Goku looked around. They weren't expecting that "Because of your foolishness and arrogance, a great Kryptonian has died. Can't you see Kara can not be trusted?" The AI said with unempathic voice.
"Hey I'm right here!" the blonde alien said out-loud with anger in her voice. Her tears stopped flowing from her blue eyes, replaced by sheer wanton desire to rip Jor-El's throat. Her uncle wasn't that bad alive but as a body-less voice he was more annoying than ever. To the point she wanted to kick his nonexistent ass into the afterlife.
"You are just a nuisance, Kara. Like your father was to my family line. Your fate can not be alongside Kal-El" The AI's voice kept saying without emotion or regret. His comment could only get the two Kryptonians angrier than they already were.
"Kara is my cousin!" Clark said in anger "And I trust her even more than you!" There was a long silence after that.
"You disappoint me, son" The AI finally replied.
"If that shuts your fucking yap then I welcome it!" The solar alien insulted, now lifting Raya's corpse. He would make sure to give her a burial. That was the least he could do in her honor.
Goku gulped hard on his throat, going alongside his friends and leaving the ice place. If Kara and Clark went ballistic again, he hoped to not be on the other end of their wrath. As powerful as he was, his limit was only that much.
The bald Luthor was sitting in his chair, pondering the things around him. Apparently he was now short on alien devices. He had had one. Now he had none. But he at least had one living alien. As useless as he had been, having one was better than having nothing.
Besides, Lex still had that kid Tobias. He would keep tracking meteor freaks for Luthor to experiment on. And one day, the CEO would have his ultimate soldier.
It had already been a couple of days since Raya's passing away. Kara was flying around Kansas at great speed, her blonde hair flowing with the current. Out of all her powers, flight was the most liberating one. It felt nice going through the air at high speeds, the Sun giving a permanent supply of energy.
The blonde beauty descended on the Kent farm. Her eyes saw Goku going through one of his usual training, firing quick jabs and kicks to an invisible opponent.
"Hey" Goku greeted Kara stopping his training with a final roundhouse kick.
"Hey" Kara greeted her friend, landing on the ground. She had to admit, Goku had a unique body. Most of the injuries he got from fighting her had disappeared without leaving scars. "Is Clark here?"
"He went out with Chloe" The Saiyan answered sitting on the ground and resting for the day.
"Goku, can I ask you something?" Kara asked to her alien friend from another dimension. She had been wanting to ask her friend about something.
"Sure" The Saiyan said in his usual cheerful tone. The blonde Kryptonian sat next to him.
"Would you help me... train?" The blonde Kryptonian asked towards her male friend.
"Train?" Goku asked almost a bit confused "Like my kind of training?" Kara nodded to his statement.
"Yeah. I just think that since last fight with Baern, my solar powers aren't exactly enough to handle a situation" The blonde beauty explained. Goku took a couple of seconds to think.
"Well, you could use some extra style in your stance" The palm-haired alien said, smiling with mirth a bit "You and Clark are mostly street brawlers wasting energy in wild punches" Kara rose an eyebrow.
"Excuse me, but didn't I kick your ass just a couple of days ago?" Kara asked back like trying to make Goku refute that truth.
"Kind of irrelevant" Goku kept on knowing that her victory over him had been because he had run out of steam. But maybe now, Goku could keep the fight for longer "As long as you are under the Sun, you always win. But what if it's dark or your powers are gone?"
"Point taken" Kara replied. As much power as she could absorb from the sunlight, it would be useless if she were continuously fighting in a dark place. And after experiencing how been near a piece of Kryptonite felt, she knew that she would need a shield to protect herself from it.
"Okay, I'll train you" Goku said now looking at Kara, who smiled back "But don't think the Sun is going to save you from getting hurt"
"I already assumed that" Kara retorted with a grin. Goku was certainly going to have fun. Kara was much stronger than Clark and could provide him with the challenge he always wanted to face.
Things would get interesting around the farm for sure.
Notes from Chapter 6:
Sorry for the Raya fans.
I don't exactly know how powerful Baern was (in power level) so I just put him equal to a Kaioken times seven, more or less.
Okay, Goku will train Kara. Who didn't see that one coming? But this doesn't mean Goku and Kara will be together. Only that they train and become closer friends. There are still chances for them getting together, but only if I see that fit.
It seems our heroes had a casualty on their job. How will they properly adapt to it? And what is Lex planning for Vegeta and the meteor freaks? Check the next chapter!
