Two weeks. It's been almost two weeks and it feels like it's been two years. I've been following Brutus's orders and staying away from Spitfire like he said but I can't take much of it anymore. Hopefully in two days at the Feast I can say something, anything, to her that can put me on her good side. We don't have to be friends but at least talk to each other if we wanted to. And not argue all the time. I need to do something, something that will make her see that I'm not the bad guy and that she can talk to me. But because of Brutus I can't say anything to her or do anything for her. I have to look my best for this Feast because the next day the scholarship Trainees get on a train to go back home to their families and Districts. I would say that I wish the students got on the train based on order of District or they get on the specific cars dedicated to their District, but one, that's not the case and two, I've now told myself that I'll let her tell me when she's ready. And if I have to wait until after we are both too old for the Games or when she trusts me enough then so be it. I just hope she trusts me first.

Luna, Clove, and I sat in the dorm room two days before the last Feast before the games to figure out what we want to wear before the day of so we aren't running around like a chicken with no head. Luna and I stood in front of our closet in front of our own half whilst Clove stood at my bed looking at the dresses she hadn't worn yet. I was trying to decide between my gold dress or my black dress with a sort of halter neckline. Each one requires a different shoe. I had no idea what Clove was thinking or what Luna was thinking for that matter. But I was the first to speak up.

"Hey which one? The gold or the black?" I held both of them up next to me and they looked at both of them.

"The gold, it's the last Feast before we go home, make a statement that says remember me." Luna said and I turned to Clove to get her opinion as well.

"I agree, the black one can wait." Clove agreed and I nodded, putting the black dress back and grabbing the gold heels. I walked over to my bed and set the stuff down at the very end on the little bench at the foot of it, keeping it out so I don't forget.

"Did you decide yet?" I asked Clove and she shook her head vigorously.

"No. I'm torn between the black and bronze dress, or the white one." she said and I looked from each dress to her and back at the dress.

"I think the black and bronze. What do you think Luna?" I asked her holding it up and turning to her. She looked at it and agreed.

"Definitely. Now can you help me? I can't decide between this pink dress or this dark brown dress." she said holding them up. The pink dress was short to the knee with thin straps, the chest was covered in sequins while the skirt flowed around her. The brown dress was long to the floor, thin strapped, and had an intricate pattern of rhinestones from the chest to the hips area, it was a form fitting dress that complimented her natural curves, and lastly had a slit up between her knee and mid-thigh.

"Hm tough choice." I commented and turn to Clove. "What do you think?" I asked her and she stepped next to me and tapped a finger to her chin.

"I think the brown one." she said, I looked at it and studied it for a few moments before answering as well.

"Yeah I agree. Go with the brown." I said and Luna smiled at us before setting her dress and matching brown shoes on her bed. We cleaned everything up and sat around and talked for a while but soon it was time for Clove to go home.

"Well it's time I better get going. See you two tomorrow. Bye!" she said and walked out of the dorm to her home. It was quiet for a few minutes then Luna finally said something.

"So we have one more day then the Feast, then we go home. What do you think is going to happen?" she asked and I looked at her confused.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean at the Feast, Cato has been following orders and leaving you alone, I doubt that he's gonna pass up the opportunity to try something, and if he does try something it's gonna be at the Feast." she pointed out and I laid back on my bed.

"I hope he doesn't try anything. I want to be in a happy mood when I get back home to my sister. Brutus has been working me really hard lately because of the Games and I just want to have a nice evening before I go home." I said looking at the ceiling. We talked a while longer after that, about home what we are going to miss from here when we are gone back home, just random stuff. It was probably around eleven at night when we finally went to bed, and I know I would be feeling it tomorrow.

It was the day of the final Feast before the 73rd Hunger Games and I was currently outside on the track running laps while my Trainer was working with Spitfire before lunch. This Feast was different than the rest. They actually wanted us to get in as much training as possible last minute before the Games. As I was running I saw Luna walk out to the track and up to some other student, say something to him before he pointed to me, and she walked over. She stood waiting for me to come to her by the benches and when I got there I took a swig of my water bottle.

"What?" I asked her and she rolled her eyes.

"Are you planning anything for tonight?" she asked boldly and I raised an eyebrow.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean are you planning on doing anything to her tonight that might upset her?" she asked expectantly crossing her arms over her chest.

"Why would I tell you that?" I asked her.

"She told me about when you kissed her and everything you said." she started and I gaped at her. "and if you cared about her at all, in a good way then you wouldn't do something that wouldn't upset her the day before she goes home for a while. And if you don't care about her and have something planned, please reconsider and prove to people that you aren't the big ass hole they think you are." she says clapping her hands together lazily like she's praying. I looked at her shocked. How would she know that I might be planning something for Spitfire.

"How did you know?"

"So you are?" she countered.

"I just wanted to do something so she won't see me as a bad guy or an enemy anymore. That's all."

"Can it maybe wait until after the Games? Because she really wants to be happy and not having anything on her mind except her family back home. She just wants to be happy for tomorrow and I'm trying to help give her that." she pleaded and I nodded.

"I can do that. I'll leave her alone and do that for her." I said and I guess it came as a shock when I said that to her.

"Wow um, thank you." she said perplexed.

"Why the tone of surprise?"

"I just thought that you'd refuse or something, but um thank you." she said giving me one last glance before she walked away back to the TR to finish her training before lunch. I shook my head at the conversation I just had, thinking if it really just happened or not. I jogged a couple more laps around the track before going back into the main building of the Academy to the cafeteria to eat lunch. All throughout lunch I would steel glances at Spitfire. She was just sitting there with the usual crowd but she wasn't really talking to anybody. And the guys at the table seemed to notice, for they stood up and walked away with their unfinished trays of food to a separate table. Clove and Luna seemed to be sympathetically talking to Spitfire and she would just say what looked like one worded replies. Eventually Luna said something to Clove who nodded and walked away as well.

I watched as Luna would say things to Spitfire, she would get her to mile but it was a sad smile. What could be wrong with her? I thought to myself. But then out of nowhere Luna must have said something because it made the girl of my attention perk up and look at her in surprise and disbelief. What could they be talking about?

I wasn't saying much, I didn't want to. I just wanted to get home, to Prim, my mother, my friends, the woods, I just wanted to be home. But I still had to get through today, all of my clothes were already packed since I might get a different room than this year. Everything was ready, why couldn't I just leave now?

"Uh guys can we talk to Spitfire for a bit?" Clove asked them and they got up to leave, taking their food with them.

"What's wrong?" Luna asked but I'm pretty sure she already knows the answer.

"I just miss home, my friends and family." I said glumly and she nodded.

"Well if you go in the Games you'll have to be away from them for a while." she pointed out.

"Not helping." I snapped.

"Just saying sorry."

"It won't be this long in the Games." I said through clenched teeth.

"Clove maybe I should talk to her?" Luna offered causing Clove to nod and she left the same way as the boys did.

"Sorry about her, you know she's just trying to help." she said and I just smiled sadly, not taking my eyes off the chicken on my tray that I keep picking at with my fork.

"It's okay."

"Don't worry you'll be on your way home by this time tomorrow." she pointed out and I just nodded.

"I know." I replied in monotone and just must have sensed that I didn't want to talk much because she didn't say much for a few moments.

"So I talked to Cato today."

"So?" I said egging her to go on.

"I asked him if he was planning anything and he said he was but I got him to agree to back off for the night." I dropped my fork and looked up at her, my eyebrows knitted together in a shocked glare. "Yeah he actually agreed, I didn't believe it either but he seemed genuine." she finished.

"So what did he have planned?" I asked.

"He talked about doing something so that you wouldn't see him as a bad guy or whatever. But when I told him that you just didn't want to worry about anything and wanted to go home happy he said that he what he would do is not do anything, and he'd do that for you." she said and leaned forward, resting on her elbows on the table. "I think he likes you." she said with a smirk on her face and I rolled my eyes.

"You've been thinking that he likes me since the first Feast we had here. And even more so when I told you that he kissed me." I pointed out and she rolled her eyes, keeping the smirk on her face.

"And it was your first kiss and you keep saying you felt nothing when I think you're lying." she said back trying to get something out of me. I looked down at my mangled chicken and made a face that said "I hate it when you're right" and said nothing. She pointed her finger at me and smiled triumphantly. "You see it is that face right there that proves you are lying when you say you felt nothing." I looked back up at her and rolled my eyes.

"It was my first, what was I supposed to feel?" I countered and she slumped her shoulders in defeat.

"Yeah you're right."

"And don't say a word to him that he was my first." I said in a threatening tone.

"Don't worry I won't, I told him that you told me about the kiss but I said nothing about it being your first." she confirmed and I sighed in relief. "I'm still surprised that he agreed not to do anything." she said and I nodded with a thinking expression on my face.

"Yeah especially after he said that I meant nothing to him and never would." I said remembering the day in the streets.

"You still haven't forgotten about that?" she asked.

"It's not something I'm going to forget any time soon."

"But even after all the stuff he said at the track and then kissed you. You obviously mean something to him." she pointed out and she's got a point.

"Yet he kept doing things that put us in the predicament of not having any contact if we can help it."

"Yeah I guess you're right." she reluctantly said and I glanced at the clock and sighed.

"Looks like I better get back to training, see you later." I said bidding her a goodbye and making my way through the hallway to the weight room.

I had finished my lunch and was with the rest of Enobaria's Trainees throw knives, something I liked doing and of course was really good at. I had just thrown a long shining blade when I felt a presence beside me.

"We need to do something." Luna said and I looked at her confused.

"What are you talking about and what did you and Spitfire talk about when I left?" I questioned her.

"We talked about going home and I told her about my conversation with Cato, how he said he would do something for her by not actually doing anything."

"Okay, what did she say when you told her?"

"She was surprised like I was. She said she was surprised about it after he said she meant nothing to him even after he kissed her." I listened to what she said and kept thinking.

"But he kissed her, so she means something to him." I pointed out, trying to figure out the current problem with two of my friends who are clearly in denial.

"That's what I said but she just went on about how he kept doing things that made them the way they are now, not allowed to have any contact with each other." she continued and I sighed, nodding in agreement.

"It's partly his fault but it's partly her's too." I said and Luna looked at me confused so I went on. "I mean if she just gave into him and kissed back or something or just talked to him in the first place they wouldn't be arguing all the time."

"Yeah but if he wasn't much of a jerk to her to begin with she wouldn't have a reason to be so cold to him." she was right, that he started it to begin with. I looked around for the certain boy we were talking about and I couldn't see him anywhere.

"Speaking of which, where is he?" I said looking at her and she looked around then pointed to the other side of the room.

"There he is, on the rope course." he just jumped down from the rope when he looked over at us. We quickly looked away but he didn't buy it, instead he headed over in our direction with a confused glare etched into his face.

"Care to tell me why you two were staring at me?" he questioned with a raised eyebrow and his arms crossed.

"I was just wondering where you were that's all." I said to him but he didn't quite buy that either.

"There's something else though, what is it?"

"I was just telling Clove that I was surprised when you said that you would leave Spitfire alone at the Feast tonight." Luna said standing next to me and his face softened slightly, but only slightly.

"Don't get to used to it. Cause things will be different after the Games this year." he said before turning to the table of many knives and started throwing them at the target two dozen feet away. He wasn't hitting the bulls eye every time but he was close. I have a feeling he wanted to be here to see if Luna and I would talk about tonight or Spitfire. Time to test my theory.

"Hey Luna when do you and Spitfire leave tomorrow?" I asked turning to her catching a glance of Cato who paused at the sounds of her name.

"Noon sharp." she said with a knowing nod. She and I both glanced at Cato who had stopped throwing knives and was "examining" on in his hand. "Why did you want to know?"

"So I could say goodbye to my friends of course!" I said nonchalantly and she rolled her eyes laughing.

"It's a good thing that we all have to get on the train through one door and not our District cars. That's be bad for Spitfire." she said.

"But it's be good for those who want to know where she's from. Do they get on in order of District?" I asked partially hopeful and partially trying to get more of Cato's attention into the conversation. Every now and then he would turn his head so he could hear it better.

"Nope which is another good thing." Luna said catching on to what I was trying to do.

"I have to admit, I'm going to miss her for the next couple weeks."

"Yeah without her attitude it's going to be weird a little, and not rooming with her either." Luna said sadly.

"Are you guys still going to be roommates when you come back?" I asked curiously. I hope they are cause then we'd have no place to hang out after training hours sometimes.

"Yeah but I don't know if we get the same room since we'd be second years." she said and I nodded. That's true, they might not get the same room. But I guess we'll have to find out when they come back.
