I honestly don't believe you guys actually like my story….not much people appreciate me in most ways but … meh… hope this little sentence makes you I dunno… laugh? : *me and my friend trying to fix another friend's broken finger (don't ask)* Me: you know (insert name of injured here) it will be hard to explain to my mom why I ran into the house looking for tape and why you are yelling and crying in pain but I guess it will make sense that we are trying to fix your middle finger…" …. Yeah… that happened… so….here's chapter 16.
Nathalia sat in front of her desk. She raised her eye brows while she stared at the map in front of her. She studied it but it was hard for her to read considering the fact that one of her eyes is still covered by an eye patch. Focus as she might but she knew she was going nowhere with studying the map. She shut her eyes for a second hoping that her head ache would go away. She massaged her temples but the pain was still there. She knew she had to take meds but with her injuries going down to the first floor made her wince with every move. When she finally made to the first floor she made a sound between a grunt and sigh. She inspected her injuries 'I should change my bandages now' was the thought that rang in her mind after noticing few spots of red on her bandages. Even though she was practically beaten to a pulp a week ago, most of her cuts and bruises were gone, all that's left is a broken leg, a large gash near her chest and her injured eye. She remembered the details so clearly, the smell of salty blood and tears, the iron-like taste of blood in her mouth, the blurry images of her memories and the incredibly loud ear-piercing sound the gaichuus made, all is still fresh in her mind. She also remembered the sounds of her flesh being torn apart followed by the sound high pitched screaming. She shuddered a bit.
"Did you just shudder? That's new…" She turned her head slightly. In the dark room only illuminated by the light of the fireplace she saw him. His messy hair was still the same color of dirty blond but his signature emerald eyes seemed different. There was a distant look in them, but to her it didn't matter. She smiled widely and made her way to the couch beside him.
Gambit's POV
I watched as Charm clumsily made her way to the couch beside me. Her dazzling smile never leaving her face, she might be covered in injuries but she still looks gorgeous. She is the image of perfection.
"I didn't expect to see you today. I thought everyone at the Manor is missing you too much to let you go again." My lips twitched into a smirk and I know just what to say.
"I thought you missed me as much as they did so I decided to visit." She grinned and I noticed that her breathing got deeper as if she was asleep. She suddenly swayed a little and fell on the floor. I grabbed her and made sure that her injuries wouldn't get anymore damaged than it already was. I love her but sometimes she's a pain in the ass but I guess that's what you call love. I carried her up the stairs, through the many hallways and I finally reached the room at the end of the hall, her room. I gently placed her on the bed and made sure that she was fine before I left her room.
I should give her time to rest. I can't bother her now with… with… the problem. If only I could strangle that Zazie, no. Strangling is not enough, I should skin him alive if the plan didn't work. If, the plan didn't work but if it did, I'd probably cut off my tongue out of disbelief. I rushed down stairs to prepare a meal for her when she wakes up which will probably be in a couple of hours. Knowing her, she will probably wake up at random times then fall asleep again. I can still remember the day when she did nothing but eat, sleep and breathe. I'm dead serious. She really did that. I honestly don't know what she is a lazy cat or crazy dog but I bet she's a mix of both. She is very messed up.
Now that I think about it. She may not look like it during most times but deep inside she grieves and mourns deep in her heart and those feelings cause her to have a sick mentality focused on revenge, killing and destroying those that het in her way. She's a dangerous woman, a sick psycho who is thirsty for blood. At least that's what she is like when she is feeling it but I noticed that the past few years she gradually changed. A lot sweeter, kinder and gentler and she developed a sense of guilt, she was starting to regain the conscience that she lost. She was starting to be human again.
I finished up the plate of food I was preparing when I heard something, a soft knock. Someone is at the door. My heart beat increased by a ton and I ran to Charm's room. She was still lying on the bed in the same position I left her in. I went straight to her balcony and made sure no one would notice me as I jumped.
I landed softly on the floor and made my through an alley that leads to the road where the front of Charm's house is. I sneaked a peek at the person knocking at her door and who it was surprised me. I recognize them, Zazie, Jonathan and Mildred.
I guess my visit is cut short. I'll have to come back another day but I'll make sure that the next time I will, I won't leave her, not even the f****** government can make me part from her.
Thanks for reading this story and for supporting me. See ya all next update.
