Hey guys, I'm back. So school started yesterday (Monday 26), so that means, that I will be posting a chapter every two weeks for a while on Mondays, (I was a little late). Just adding in there that I am going to be starting club volleyball this year, so I might be a little distant, but I have plenty of opportunities to write, (during science, during math, during religion, during history, ect.)
So here's the chapter. And just to answer some of the questions from the last chapter, Mylan is not my priority, so while there may be glimpses of Mylan, there will almost always be glimpses of Fax along with it.
*WARNING: STRONG LANGUAGE AND DOMESTIC ABUSE FEATURED STRONGLY IN THIS CHAPTER. YOU HAVE NOW BEEN WARNED*
Chapter 15: Broken Fang (Yeah, its gonna focus on him)
Fang
Last Time on BROKEN:
""Max, this is, horrible." He whispered.
I shook my head. "No, I can't do anything about it, trust me." He stared at me with a pained look on his face. "Hey, my friend, Kayla, is having a bunch of my friend over to her house, tomorrow. You should come!" I said, changing the conversation.
"Max, your changing the topic."
"Seriously, you should come."
He rolled his eyes at me, and thought for a minute, "No, I don't even know Kayla. Plus, it's too short notice, and-"
"Come." I finally said. He shook you head. "Come on, Iggy and Gazzy will be there, not to mention Nudge."
He sighed, "Fine.""
"Where have you been, dimwit?" She screamed at me. The air smelt of burnt herbs. Marijuana. She hadn't smoked in a while, only drinking. I thought of the reasons why she had smoked; usually she smoked/drunk a certain kind for a reason. Vodka if she was sad. Beer if she was bored. Weed if she was annoyed. Tequila if she was happy. Any kind of whiskey if she was pissed off. Tonight she was smoking pot, which meant she was annoyed, more specifically at me.
I brushed her off, my emotionless brick wall slowly building up, one by one. I wasn't in the mood to be torn apart tonight. I tightened my grip on Juliet's shoulder. She knew that when I did that, she should hide. She wiggled from my grasp, and ran into the small room that she and I shared.
I went to follow her, when the demon's shrill voice popped up again. "And where are you going, shit for brains? We still need to talk." I stopped in my place, knowing she'd make the first move. She stalked over to me, a look in her eyes, saying that she needed the mischief she was going to bring. "Hello nimrod? Did you hear me? Where were you?"
I turned away from her ugly face. "I was studying." I growled in a low voice.
"Oh so dumbass is trying to make something out of himself." She strolled into the small kitchen. "You know that the most you'll ever be is putting pickles on a 'Big Mac'."
"Well, at least it'll be one step up from you."
Her head snapped toward me. "Oh, you think your clever, numskull?" She pushed me to the side. So it was going to be another one of those nights. I was silent. "Well answer, blockhead!" She slapped me hard across the face. This was the way to defeat her, not to react. Though, it was also her motivator. "REACT!" She rammed into me and pushed me into the counter, hitting the small of my back. I could literally hear my spine. I stood still, knowing the more I moved, the more that I would be in pain. "How can you just stand there, while you still haven't apologized!" She screamed.
"Why apologize for something that will get me the hell out of this town, and the hell away from you, Anne."
"FANG!" A female voice screamed, as someone jumped on top of my back. I could feel the bruises that had formed last night. There was only one person who would have the nerve to actually jump on top of me.
"Max." I sighed. "God, what did you eat for breakfast? Rocks?"
She jumped off of my back and run in front of me. "That'd explain why some are missing from your head!"
"Well you're happy. What happened? Did Jeb die in a hole? Did you get into Stanford? Did Iggy blow up Lissa and/or Bridget?"
She laughed, "No, I just found out that Dylan's going to go to our school! Oh my God! This is gonna be the best junior year EVER!" My face immediately dropped. I don't know why I didn't like Dylan. He just annoyed me, the way he thought that he knew Max so well. He probably hadn't talked to her since the move. And what was so special about him anyways. "You're not happy about that? Oh yeah, you think its highly unlikely that you'll ever be friends with him. Well, get used to him being here."
"Whatever, Little Maxikinz." She glared at me and pushed me to the side, hurting my hip. I grimaced.
"Woah, Fang, what happened to you? You never show emotion. Do you need a doctor?"
I rolled my eyes, "I must've just hurt my hip in ballet class yesterday." I joked.
"I'd love to see your recital! See you and a bunch of six year olds running around in little tutus!" She teased. I laughed- or smirked more like.
"Hey, you guys!" Iggy said, running toward us. Behind him was Kayla and Lauren, talking. "I just found out the news! Dylan's back?!" He screamed. The entire school courtyard looked back to him.
Max nodded and began talking about how excited she was. "Yeah, he even said that he's coming to Kayla's house tonight!"
"What?" I asked, shocked. I didn't want to see him again tonight, let alone ever.
I walked up to Kayla's door, with Juliet at my hand. "It's gonna be all awkward, I don't even know them!" Juliet whined. "Even if Nudge is there, what about everyone else? What if their mean to me? What if they push me around just like the other 6th graders! What if-"
"Juliet, stop, you'll be fine." She sighed in relief. "There's only one mass murderer going to be there." She hit my arm, in anger. "Come on." I knocked on the door, and who else opened it but Dylan.
"Oh, hey you guys, it's Fang." He yelled through the house. "Who's this?" He asked.
"Juliet, my sister." He nodded off into space as we walked past him. I could feel the glare as I stalked away from him; I smirked at the thought of it, though Juliet wasn't too amused. "Play nice." She grumbled. I rolled my eyes and softly pushed her.
Max came up to me, "Hey Fang, why the stupid face? Oh yeah, that's just normal." I rolled my eyes.
"Why the lame insults? Oh wait, that's just normal." I retorted. She laughed and hugged me. Then, Nudge came over to us. "Hey, Nudge."
"Hey Fang. Juliet wanna hang out over there? Max says that we can't be bothering them too much."Nudge addressed to Juliet. She nodded and followed Nudge over to the couches in the house.
"It's nice that they're friends. It'd suck if they hated each other." Kayla said, coming up to Max and me.
"Thanks for having her over." Max and I said at the same time. We looked at each other and bursted out laughing. Or, Max did, I just chuckled.
"It's weird how you guys do that." Kayla blurted out, staring at the two of us, weirdly.
"So, then I'm sit down in the chair, and the giant bag of honey comes gushing on top of me. I was mad at Iggy for the rest of the week." Dylan laughed, explaining the story. "I couldn't get it out of my hair for a month."
The rest of the group laughed, while I just rolled my eyes. It wasn't a good story, but everyone couldn't stop laughing.
"Hey, let's play, 'Never Have I Ever.'" Nudge exclaimed.
I was confused, "How do you play?" I asked her. Dylan turned to me, looking amused. I knew that trouble was going down.
"You've never played, 'Never Have I Ever?' I would think that everyone who has ever been thirteen years old had played it." He jeered at me.
Max's face dropped a bit, "Dylan, don't be mean." He rolled his eyes. "What you do is you hold up your hands. Everyone goes around in a circle saying what they have never done. If you have done what the one talking hasn't you put down one of your fingers. The last one with some fingers up wins."
"Okay, I wanna play!" Juliet said.
"Juliet-"
Max scowled, "Fang, just let her play." We all grouped into a circle. "I'll start." She announced. She thought for a minute, "Never have I ever built or set off a bomb." Iggy, Gazzy, and Dylan all looked at each other, as each of them put down one of their fingers.
The next one's turn was Nudge, "Never have I ever been in high school!" She said triumphantly. Gazzy, Kayla, Dylan, Max, and I all began to argue with the accusation, but Nudge cut us off. "Hey, it counts!" We all reluctantly put a finger down, leaving Dylan, Iggy, and Gazzy with eight fingers; and Max, Kayla, and I with nine.
Juliet went next. "Never have I ever drawn a sun in the corner of a piece of paper." We stared at her looking for an explanation. "You know when you were like five-years-old and you used to draw the sun in the right-hand corner of a piece of paper. I've never done that!" That left Dylan, Iggy, and Gazzy with seven fingers; Max, Kayla, and I with eight fingers; and Nudge with nine fingers.
Kayla was next. "Okay, um, never have I ever- um, gotten stabbed? I don't know. I'm not good at this game." I glanced at Max, and slowly we both put down a finger. We stared at each other, confused. When could she have actually gotten stabbed? It wasn't likely for a teenaged girl to get stabbed. "You've actually been stabbed?" Kayla said, surprised. Max and I didn't answer, but I gave her a look, as if saying that we needed to talk later.
And there we go. Are you on your seat, begging for more? Good.
Oh, and this story is getting near 200 reviews! (Inner Valley-girl coming out right here) OMG YOU GUUYS! I just- I can't believe how totes amazballs you all are! LOL, #awesomereaders!
