Trouble or…?
"What should I do with this?"
Nami was sitting inside her car. She tapped her fingers against the box on her lap thinking what she would do with it. She let out an audible sigh massaging her forehead.
Couple of hours earlier
She was typing her report when a voice greeted her. Turning around she knitted her brows as she saw the person. "You're back. How's your trip?"
"Firstly, yes I am. Secondly, it wasn't a trip, a business travel." She waved toward the older detective before looked back at Nami.
"Whatever." She took a chair for her best friend to sit. "What brings you here? Did Morrison Co. involve in any case again?"
Hinata took the chair and sat down. "Of course no. I miss you."
She lifted an eyebrow. "Knock it off. What brings you here?"
"I want to give you this." Hinata took the bag and handed it to the detective.
She knitted her brows slightly eyeing the other woman and took the bag. "What's this?" She looked inside the bag, there was a black box.
"You'll thank me." She gave Nami a wink.
She narrowed her eyes when she saw Hinata's lips turned to a bright smile, or grin. "From my experience you never give me something I want to thank you." Hinata only shrugged still grinning. She took the box putting it on her lap. "If you give me another stupid thing I swear I'll arrest you this time."
"We'll see."
She opened the box and as soon as she saw the content she jolted up throwing the box on her desk. "What's THAT!?"
"Nami man what's wrong?"
She quickly closed the box and turned around to Owen. "Nothing." She shot a glare toward Hinata before looking back at the older detective. "Hinata just showed her vacation pictures."
"No, I just gave her…"
She quickly covered the lawyer's mouth with her palm. "Yes, she did." She gave a nod toward Owen hoping he would buy it and sat back to her seat. She pulled back her hand glaring at the woman. "Seriously!? You gave me that…thing," She said in low voice and glanced at the box. She shivered a little and turned her gaze back to Hinata.
"When I went for shopping with Shane I saw it and thought to buy it for you." She said proudly.
"What kind of shop did you two go anyway," She shook her head. "No, don't say it. The point is, why the hell did you give me that…thing?" She pointed at the box and crinkled her nose.
"Well it's useful, you know," She winked at Nami and giggled as Nami eyes widened in horror. "Okay then, I should get going. Have a good day Nami." She stood up and leaned down whispering. "Good luck detective."
"Hinata!" Her cheeks blushed. "Take it back," She said but the other woman just gave her a light pat before turning around. "Hinata!" She cleared her throat when Owen lifted his gaze. She turned her head and saw her best friend waved toward her grinning before disappearing behind the wall. She turned her gaze back to her desk and let out a sigh looking at the box. 'What should I do? Hinata is so dead for this.'
Present
She let out another audible sigh and looked at the box on her lap. "Maybe I can throw it, but where?" She let out a groan. She couldn't hide it inside her car. She thought to give it to Leon or Jason, but Asahi would kill her for it. Besides give it to them would just embarrass herself. She had no choice maybe she could hide it inside the house and send it back to Hinata. She looked at garage and let out another groan. Ray was home already.
She pushed the door slowly and after made sure no one inside she tiptoed toward staircase. Luckily she didn't meet Ray or servants in living room. "Okay, where I put this? Think Nami, think." Living room, no. Kitchen, better not. Laundry room, not good. Library or work chamber, absolutely no. It meant their bedroom. She sighed and headed staircase. She put the box on floor first before pulled off her boots and took the box again heading upstairs.
She eyed the second floor and found no one. 'Where's Ray?' If her wife was inside their bedroom it meant she better think another place. Maybe guest room, but Ray would ask her for she didn't usually enter the room. She took a deep breath before open the door. She slid her head first inside to look for Ray. She let out a breath in relief and pushed the door wider. Ray wasn't here. It seemed the other woman was taking bath. She looked around and decided to put the box under her drawer beside closet. There was small space under the drawer. After made sure the box was hidden under the drawer she stood up.
"Wait, what if someone find it?" She then quickly ran to kitchen and took the tool she needed and ran back to bedroom. She took scissor from drawer, cut the plastic bag and put the tool under the drawer, in front of the box. "This way no one can find it. Hehehe…you're genius Nami."
"What are you doing there?"
She quickly stood up and let out a cry when her head hit the open drawer. She forgot to close it.
"Are you alright? What are you doing there?" She let out a laugh approaching her wife.
Still rubbed her head and turned around. "Yeah, I'm okay. Just, looked for…my key. Yeah, my key, I dropped it."
Ray chuckled and rubbed Nami's head. "You better take bath. I'll prepare for dinner." She pecked the other woman's lips before turning around.
"Yeah." She watched as Ray walked out and let out a breath. "That's close."
Finished brushing her hair she got up and walked toward bed. "What are you reading?" She climbed the bed and sat beside Nami leaning against headboard.
"I thought to buy new sand bag."
"Again? Didn't you buy it months ago?"
"Yeah, but, I want to try this one." She showed Ray the magazine.
She shook her head. "No."
"Pleeease," She made her cutest puppy eyes.
She tilted her head narrowing her eyes but when Nami made a pouty face she couldn't help but giggled and nodded.
"Thank you." She leaned closer and planted a kiss on Ray's lips.
"And we'll buy your suits too. You need new suits."
"Okay."
"Your nail," She took Nami's hand. "It's longer." She leaned over, pulled out nail clipper from nightstand drawer and took back Nami's hand.
"When are you going to New York again?"
"Next week." Finished with Nami's left she took her right hand.
"Two days?"
"No, just one day."
"I thought you said two." She turned the page with her left.
"Well I can't leave you alone."
"Why, you're afraid I'll bring someone else in." She let out a chuckle when Ray pinched her arm.
"Bring someone else in and you'll sleep outside."
"I can sleep at that someone else's house." This time Ray pinched her stomach harder. "Just kidding! Ray!" She threw the magazine trying to push Ray's hand away. When the other woman finally pulled back her hand she rubbed her belly. "I'm just kidding geez."
She chuckled. "Okay finish." She released Nami's hand and put the cutter inside drawer. "You didn't put hand cream I bought for you, did you?"
She turned her head grinning. "Forgot." Ray got off and walked toward dressing table.
She took the cream heading bed but the cream slipped from her hand and rolled over before disappeared under drawer. "Oh no,"
"What's wrong?" She looked up and saw Ray kneelt in front of the drawer.
"The cream,"
When she saw Ray stretching her hand under the drawer she jumped off the bed. "Don't!"
She stopped and turned around as Nami ran toward her. "Why?"
"Well, uh," She cleared her throat and Ray knitted her brows. "Let me take it for you."
"I can take it myself." She was about to lean down but Nami grabbed her arm.
"No, let me take it. Why don't you wait while I'm taking it."
She lifted her brows in confusion as Nami smiled and gave a nod with her head toward bed. "Okay, thanks."
"I'm your wife." She winked and saw the other woman giggled walking toward bed. She let out a breath. 'That's close' She then leaned down a little sliding her hand. Unfortunately for her she forgot her trap and the next second she let out a scream. "Goddamnit!"
"What's wrong?" She was about to get on the bed when Nami screamed.
She took a long deep breath gritting her teeth before turned her head. "No," She shook her head trying to hold her tear. "The cream," She cleared her throat. "It went deeper than I thought," She took another breath. "But don't worry, I can handle it."
"Nami, are you okay? You're flushing."
"I'm fine. Ever." She laughed but clenched her fist trying to endure the pain. She wanted to cry right now. "Just wait and I'll take it." She turned around cursing herself for forgetting the rat trap she put under the drawer. 'Stupid! Stupid!' Slowly she pulled out her trembling hand. Put the trap back to its place she blew breaths over her poor hand. Now she knew what it felt to being trapped. At moment she thought human beings was cruel for making this tool. 'My poor hand'
"You okay?"
"What? Yeah, I'm fine, wait a minute." She blew another breath over her still trembling hand and slid her left hand to reach the cream. But carefully this time. Finally could pull the cream out, she wiped her tear before approaching bed.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Was she crying?
"Yeah, I'm good." She offered the cream but kept her right hand behind her back. "I think I forgot something in bathroom." Without waiting for the other woman's reply she turned around and walked as fast as she could toward bathroom. She let out a breath as the cold water cooling down her hand. "Stupid you Nami. Idiot!"
A week later
She pulled off her boots walking inside. She found her wife was sitting in living room. Silently she approached the couch and pecked Ray's cheek. "Hey beautiful, I'm home." She then walked around and sat down beside her wife. Ray still kept her gaze at TV. "I'm hungry."
She took a breath and stood up. "Wait here."
After Ray left couch she grabbed remote and turned the channel. She took off her jacket suit and her gun belt, after made sure the safety was locked, putting it on the table. Leaning against couch she watched evening news but looked up when Ray stood in front of her. "I can't see if you put your sexy body in front of me."
She lifted an eyebrow. "What is this?"
Her grin vanished and eyes widened as she saw the black box.
"So you know this?"
She smacked her forehead. "Oh my God, I forgot, Owen said we have investigation tonight." She stood up and put her hands up. "Sorry Ray I think, I need to go."
"Nami,"
She shook her head curling her lips down.
"Sit."
"Okay." Reluctantly she sat back on couch. If Ray had that tone she was better obey it. She would kill Hinata for this, but after she dealt with her wife.
"You'll tell me what this is?"
She licked her lips before replied. "That's not mine."
"Not yours? Then why this was in our bedroom, under your drawer?"
She stood up but when Ray motioned toward couch with her eyes she sat back. "That's Hinata's, Hinata gave me last week," She added quickly when Ray crossed her arms in front of her chest. "I thought to give it back, but forgot it."
"You forgot?" Nami nodded. She opened the box ignoring Nami's gasp and took the DVDs out "You watch this?"
She shook her head quickly. "Of course no."
"Really?" She put the DVDs back in the box narrowing her eyes. "Nami,"
She bit her lip. "Maybe a little?"
"Nami!"
She stood up and approached her angry wife. "Just a little," She had watched it actually. The curiosity took the best of her and she watched it after Ray was asleep a couple of nights ago. Well she was a detective after all. 'You have any better excuse?' She ignored her inner thought. "I swear, just a little. Five minutes or so."
Ray narrowed her eyes.
"Fifteen."
Ray crossed her arms.
"Thirty."
Ray cocked her head.
"Fine, I watched it all. But just one, I swear just one. I'm sorry."
"You didn't…" She cleared her throat. "Did you?"
Nami knitted her brows. "Didn't what?" Her eyes widened when Ray gave a nod toward the box. "Of course no! I swear Ray, I didn't."
"Really?"
She put her palm up. "I swear, I didn't."
"Fine, but since you weren't honest with me you'll skip your dinner,"
"Ray," She pouted.
"Because," She approached her wife and took her shirt pulling her closer. "You have another punishment waiting for you."
She tilted her head aside a little knitting her brows, but when Ray's lips turned to a sly smirk she grinned nodding. "My punishment huh?"
She put a finger under Nami's chin lifting it as their face come closer. "You'll show me what you've learned."
"Whatever you wish."
She laid her head on pillow feeling her body flushed from head to toe. She threw an arm over Nami's back as the other woman laid her body down on her. She let out a giggle when Nami started to plant kisses over her jaws.
"How did you find it by the way?"
"The servant found it." When Nami stopped the kiss and looked at her in horror she let out a laugh. "I found it."
She pinched the laughing woman's cheek before added. "How did you know?"
"You may be a detective but you can't deceive me." She tapped Nami's nose and the other woman grinning.
"I guess I can't." She pecked Ray's chin and lifted her gaze to look at the other woman. "So?"
"So?"
"What do you think?" She trailed her fingertips over Ray's jaw-line and to her flushed cheek.
"Seventy."
She crinkled her brows. "Seventy?"
"Your score." She giggled when Nami dropped her jaw.
"Seventy? Only seventy?" She shook her head. "No, it should be better than that."
"Well I think that's your score."
She narrowed her eyes as the other woman pressed her lips together to hold her grin. "You're bad at scoring."
She let out a chuckle before taking Nami's cheeks pulling her into a kiss. Pushing her head off the pillow she trailed her lips to her chin and down to her throat. Nami let out a hum when she bit the skin gently.
Closing her eyes she pulled the corner of her mouth up as Ray's lips traveled over her skin. She snapped her eyes open when the other woman switched their position so she was lying on her back on the mattress while Ray straddled her.
"My turn," Leaning down she whispered in Nami's ear. "You need a real teacher."
A pleasant shiver ran down her spin hearing Ray's low husky voice. She grinned when the other woman moved her head claiming her lips. She felt Ray's hands slid over her arms and intertwined their fingers as their lips dancing together. She thought she would thank Hinata this time.
