A/N: Hi guys! How are all of you? I so sorry for my absence. School has been tough and I've had a rough time for the past year. However, I'm back and ready to continue this story. :D

Chapter 11

The Stash

"Why are we at your old house?" Jace asked. He took in Clary's old home and remembered that he and Isabelle and occasionally Alec would come over after school to watch TV, finish homework, or just enjoy each other's company. Now the house's windows were shot out, everything was still barren. Jace had gone by this house many times in the past even though it brought back awful memories.

"Because," She didn't continue her sentence and opened the door. The door squeaked and the smell of something sour and a bit sweet circulated in the house. Jace's nose crinkled in disgust.

"By the Angel, what the hell is that smell?" Jace asked her.

Clary covered her nose and said, "I don't know."

Clary went upstairs and Jace followed her. The stairs creaked ominously as they ascended. He followed her to her old bedroom. Clary opened up the closet and cursed when she found it empty.

"Did you lose your favorite pair of shoes?" Jace asked. Clary shot him a berating look and moved past him, out the door and into another bedroom.

This bedroom was neat, like it hadn't been messed with at all. There was a picture of Clary, her mom and Luke on the small desk next to the bed. Her mom was holding Clary in her arms and leaning against Luke. Clary had a big snaggle tooth grin and her mom and Luke looked happy.

Jace watched curiously as Clary crawled underneath the bed. When she came back out, Clary was smiling and holding a small, orange shoe box. Several dust bunnies were stuck in her curling, red hair.

"What the hell is that?" Jace asked impatiently. He was tired and beyond annoyed.

"It's drugs. I don't know what kind, but my brother wants it." Clary said. She looked away from Jace.

"Your brother is having you sell drugs for him?" Jace asked in disbelief. He could almost laugh at this situation. Tiny, feisty Clary has been turned into a drug dealer.

"N-no!" Clary's cheeks turned red. "No, he just wants me to deliver to this box to one of his dealers. I just have to give it to him. After that, Jonathan will never bother me again."

"Clary, don't you see? He's using you! If you get caught with that-" Jace pointed at box accusingly- "then you'll be the one going to jail. Not him."

"I know that." Clary said. "Now, let's go. All I have to do is meet this guy, drop of Jonathan's stash, then we can go back to your house to sleep."

It sounded like a nice plan, but Jace had a feeling it would go terribly wrong. If it came to it, Jace would put his life on the line to save Clary. He didn't want to lose her ever again.

Clary and Jace walked out of her old house and onto the sidewalk. The street lamps illuminated the sidewalk for them as they began their walk. Clary tucked the box under her arm tightly.

After walking for some time, Clary stopped near a bench. A man with pale white gold hair was sitting down smoking a cigarette. He looked up at them and gave a smile.

"Hello, Clary. Thanks for bringing the stash out to me. I really appreciate it." The man said.

"No problem Mark." Clary said.

Mark took the box from Clary and made his way down the street. Clary breathed a sigh of relief and said, "I'm glad that's over." She gave Jace a small smile. "Now, my brother will leave me alone. The police will leave me alone. I'm done."

Jace had a feeling it wasn't over. In fact, he felt it was just beginning. Jace and Clary were silent as they made their way back to the house. They snuck in quietly. Clary was about to go back to Isabelle's bedroom until Jace grabbed her by the hand.

"Jace?" Clary asked. His gold eyes seemed darker than usual.

Jace brought Clary's small hand up to his mouth and kissed it. Clary felt heat course through her body at the sudden contact. Jace put her hand down and walked back to his room, leaving Clary in the living room.

( The Next Morning)

"Wake up, Clary! Pancakes! Sausage! Bacon! It's all awaiting you."

Clary opened up her eyes and saw Tessa right in her face. Her gray eyes wide and a huge smile plastered on her face. Clary groaned and tried to pull the cover over her head, but Tessa ripped the covers from her. Cold air hit her exposed legs and arms causing Clary to shiver.

"Come on. This is one hell of a breakfast, Clary. Get up." Tessa giggled and left the bedroom.

Clary sat up and raked her fingers through her tangled, red hair. She was glad that she was able to give her brother's stash of drugs to Mark without incident. She was more surprised that Jace let her do it. Thinking about Jace caused Clary to think about him kissing her hand. Her face heated up again.

After she watched her face and combed her hair, she went into the dining room where breakfast was set up. Clary sat down and began to pile pancakes onto her plate. Jace stole the last piece of sausage from Alec and Tessa stole the last piece of bacon from Maia. Eventually, everyone began to steal food off of each other's plates.

After breakfast, everyone got dressed and went out carousing in the city. They spent a lot of their time at the park, the mall, and at Takis. Around six o' clock, Maia announced that she needed to go home. Everyone went back to the Lightwood residence.

Once she was done saying her goodbyes, Clary walked back to Simon's house. She hummed a happy tune as she came to Simon's porch. Clary was about to open the door until she spotted a box on the porch. It had her name on it. Clary picked up the box and opened it.

Locks of red hair and a pair of broken glasses laid inside. Clary dropped the box and screamed. The red hair was her mom's and the glasses belonged to Luke.
