Lucy just stood there and watched as the Red Guard cards grabbed the maniac called the hatter and slam his hands into metal chains and to his feet and one last chain to sit around his neck. Tears were gathered in her eyes as she made eye contact with the hatter himself. His eyes weren't as you'd think they would be, instead they were awake and more alive but also had a hint of fear; Lucy just stood there and stared after him. What could she do? She was only small; if she tried to swim across she would surely drown. All she could was just stand there and stare.
"-Sniff- Why –sniff- Why would –sniff- would you –sniffs- do something so stupid? –Sniff- Hatter! Why?!" Lucy screamed her heart out at open space, to where all that remained was the fog that stuck to the lake. In a quick instant Lucy fell to the ground and let her head fall in to her hands; after a few wimps she looked up to the sky and let out a loud scream.
"DAMN YOU! DOWN WITH THE BLOODY RED QUEEN!"
Back at the red queens palace the queen felt a very cold presence which caused her nose to tickle and let out a quite frightful sneeze.
"Are you alright your majesty?" The queen turned to her left to see who had spoken out of line to her.
"Excuse me?" she straightened up and stared daggers into his soul. The butler hesitated and began to quiver.
"Umm, Umm-"
"OFF WITH HISS HEAD!" Three card guards came through the grand doors and grabbed hold of the butler dragging him down the hall as he struggled and screamed.
"Hmm! This is getting us no where!" The queen climbed down from her throne and walked over to the window. This window was huge! You could nearly see the whole land from there, the only places you couldn't see was behind on the other side of the castle, the window stretched up to the highest point on the ceiling and reached all the way down to the queens feet. And the width was just as big! Reaching from one wall to the other; taking up the whole of one wall.
Back at the lake were Lucy now was curled up under the hat, that the idiot had left behind, the blonde had curled herself up in to the tightest ball she could and just laid there. Crying to herself.
"If only I hadn't come to this stupid place. Then he... He...NO! No Lucy, stop saying that. It isn't your fault. He chose to save you, he chose to hand himself in." Giving herself words of wisdom, Lucy crawled out of the hat and stared in the direction were a giant red heart shaped castle was standing. Or it may just seem giant to her due to her size. Looking up with determination Lucy was not gunner waste her time any longer.
"I'm coming Hatter, just you wait!" Looking back at the hat she realised it will take her a while to pull it along with her.
"If only I had that cake. Even though it tasted like salt." All of a sudden something fell on top of her pushing her towards the ground.
"Oops! Sorry! That wasn't meant to happen!" Looking up Lucy could see a half bird half human type girl with short white hair. Once the girl had landed on the floor Lucy could see her from head to feet, from the orange like beak down to the purple out stretched feathered wings to the orange/yellow bird like feet and legs.
"What are you?!" Lucy was stunned but the bird just look disappointed.
"Ugh! How rude! You should ask, who are you? Not what are you?" she had said the last part in a mimicking tone that sounded croaky.
"At the moment that's not my issue." Lucy replied.
"Any who. My name is Lisanna and my queen has asked me to give you these." She picked up the thing that was on Lucy's back squashing her to the ground and a pile of cloth.
"What do I want with that?" Lucy said looking at it like it was something off her shoe.
"Just remember you are the size of a worm and I will not hesitate to eat you." The two had a little stare down.
"Go ahead eat me." Lucy was trying to challenge the bird to show that she had more guts.
"..."
"That's what I thought." Looking away Lucy's eyes widened in recognition to what had fallen on her.
It was that cake! How did the queen know that she wanted cake?
"Well you seem cocky enough to know what you are doing so... bye" before Lucy could reply and gave her thanks Lisanna had already left and was on her way in the opposite direction to the red castle. Looking at the cloth Lucy was questioning why Lisanna and brought it to her.
"Oh well." Lucy had taken a bite out of the cake and squinted at the saltiness of it, after this she would never eat anything like it again. Second by second Lucy stared growing and as she grew the clothes she was originally wearing began to feel tight and rip ravelling parts of her skin. The flushed blonde quickly jumped in to a nearby bush to hide herself just in case someone or something decided to stroll past.
"Oh so that's what the cloth was for?!" reaching out for the cloth Lucy realised that it was clothing not just the fabric. When she un folded it Lucy had a green vest top and a cream coloured combat skirt with knee high brown boots; of her parents saw her now she would have been grounded for life.
Once Lucy had changed into the cloths that were giving and stood over the bush and was about normal size again. She looked up to the hills again with determination.
"Down with the bloody red queen!"
