Author's Notes: Ok. You probably want to kill me for leaving you just like that. haha. Forgive me, but I have anatomy, biochemistry and physiology plus neuroanatomy that are torturing me. However, good news is I am going to end this story before 2015 or the final chapter will be on the first week of January. haha. This chapter is short, but I hope I get to hear from you. Who knows? maybe your review will change the fate of this story just like what I did in my first fic for Tomoyo and Errol entitled "Dreaming of You." hahaha. Enjoy and review guys!

Last Chapter:

Tomoyo smiled weakly, for she was glad to see her best friend once again. "Hi Sakura." She tried to say, but no sound came out. Her heart raced in terror, but she repeated once again.

Sakura and Syaoran held their breaths, surprised on what was happening.

"Tomoyo what's wrong?" Sakura asked, worried.

Tomoyo struggled to speak, but nothing came out. With that, a tear fell from her eyes. She couldn't believe it. For some unknown reason, her precious voice simply wasn't there anymore.

Chapter Fifteen:

Runaway

Sakura and Syaoran simply stood, but felt their chest tighten with the scene before them. Tomoyo continued to struggle for her voice, even if each second she spent was taking away her energy. Nobody would have prevented it though, every surgery has its own complications. They knew from the start, but of all things that have to be taken away, it was one of her precious possession.

It took few more minutes until Tomoyo finally stopped. She surrendered, but the tears kept on flowing. Sakura approached her, deciding to hop in the bed with her to hold her. Since they were kids, Tomoyo had always been the strong one. However, this time, Sakura knew that it was her turn to do the job.

Closing her eyes, Tomoyo let her emotions flow.

It was midnight when she woke up, and she thank God everybody was asleep by then. At least for the mean time, she could sort her thoughts without seeing the sad eyes of everyone around her. She heard that the condition maybe temporary, but who knows?

Ring-ring.

Jumping in surprise, she looked at her bedside table. Her phone was ringing, and she knew very well the person behind it. She shivered, not really knowing what to do. One moment everything was okay and now, everything is collapsing.

Eriol sighed heavily, not believing that it had already been three days since he last talked to her. Yes, he had been busy at work too, but having no word from Tomoyo was a bit odd.

"Missing her already?" Kaho teased as she entered the library.

Eriol gave her a playful glare. "Don't start on me, Kaho." He set his phone beside the table and gave his full attention to Kaho. "How's Yumi?"

Kaho smiled, knowing very what he was trying to do. This man in front of her had always been in control until Daidouji Tomoyo came in and broke every wall that he got. Yes, he was the love of his life years back, but Kaho knew Eriol was searching for something more. And thank Kami he found the right woman. "She's asleep." Kaho said simply. She was not going to let go of the moment now. "I am so glad for you, you know."

"I know." He said, also trying to look back. Years ago, he thought it would be Kaho or it would be Sakura. Him being a magician would entitle him to be bound to people with the same magic. Nobody saw him and Tomoyo coming, but he was thankful that somehow it did. He was thankful that things were finally falling in its right places. "I'm glad too that there are some things that even a powerful magician like me can never predict. She's perfect Kaho."

"Why don't you just save your sweet words and tell her that personally?" Kaho said, feeling the sincerity in him. "You'll be in Japan in a few days right?"

"Yes." Eriol answered and smiled further. "And yes, I miss her already."

It was past midnight, but Tomoyo still found herself widely awake. It had already been three days since she lost her voice, which meant that it had also been three days since she didn't have a word with Eriol. Gazing at her hospital room, she caught the sight of Sakura and Syaoran in the couch. They were asleep comfortably, especially Sakura who was secured on Syaoran's arms.

Tomoyo smiled sadly at this. Sure, she was happy for her, but she couldn't help but notice that somehow Sakura was enduring for Syaoran. Few months from now, Sakura would have to give up everything for Syaoran –her family, her comfort zone her life. Being the leader of a powerful clan in Hong Kong, she knew Syaoran has to live in his own home and the marriage with Sakura would mean her being dragged along too.

And on her part, she could never let Eriol sacrifice that much. It was not his responsibility to endure and it would never be. With her condition, she didn't need Eriol to be dragged again.

She was afraid, but she knew the right thing to do.

"I'm home!" Eriol announced cheerfully as he opened the large doors in his mansion.

"Uncle Eriol!" Yumi greeted back happily as she ran towards him. She gave him a smile. "Welcome home!"

Laughing at the bubbly girl, Eriol kneeled down to scoop her into his arms. "How was your day, princess?"

Yumi smiled futher. She lifted her hand, showing the price she got in school this morning. "The teacher gave me a star." And that began the series of stories from the child.

Few minutes after, Kaho finally decided to show up and let Eriol take a break from her cute, and sometimes even too enthusiastic kid. "Dinner is ready." She said, taking the attention of the kid. Immediately, Yumi left Eriol's side and ran towards the dining area.

"You don't need to stop her." Eriol said as he stood up and smiled at Kaho. "I'm going to miss moments like this with your daughter, you know."

Kaho gave him a confused look.

Eriol grinned. He was planning to hide it from everyone in the house this morning, but he could not contain his happiness anymore. "My transfer…" he began. "My transfer was finally signed today. I'll be going back home to Japan, Kaho."

Eyes widening, Kaho took few seconds before she understood. Then she smiled and hugged him. "That's wonderful! Things are really going in your favor. Did you tell her?"

Eriol laughed. "Not yet," he said, "Tomoyo loves surprises. I want to tell her at the Sakura's wedding myself. With that, can you not tell Nakuru at first? I want to keep her from alarming everyone in Japan."

"Oh, speaking of Japan…" Kaho suddenly said and walked towards the kitchen. She signaled Eriol to follow then took out an envelop from the cabinet and handed it to him. "It arrived this morning after you left."

Eriol mumbled thanks then decided to go up stairs. He knew who sent the letter just by judging the handwriting on the envelope. He smiled. Finally, things were going well. He only need few weeks at least and if fate would be in his favor, he might as well decide to be in Syaoran's situation now.

Opening the letter, he read each word slowly until he came across those words he never thought he would see.

Goodbye, Eriol.

"You what?!" Sakura blurted out in disbelief. It was just early in the morning and was supposed to be a quiet time. Unfortunately, Sakura didn't get any sleep after she received a phone call from England at three am in the morning. So once the sun rose, she decided to go to Daidouji residence to ask for explanation.

Tomoyo sat by the window and continued to stare outside. She watched the Cherry Blossom tree play with the wind, trying to avoid the conversation Sakura was initiating. Her world was flipping upside down again, and this time there was nothing she could do. Her voice would not return anymore.

"Seriously Tomoyo, what did you do?" Sakura said, suddenly piping down. By the look Tomoyo had on her face, she knew that there was no use of screaming or attacking her. Even though she was frustrated that Eriol dropped himself off the guest list for her wedding, she wanted to know the cause. Tomoyo had been avoiding Eriol since her day one in the hospital, which meant she was the sole reason for Eriol's decision.

Finally, amethyst eyes turned to meet those emerald ones. Then Tomoyo looked down to write and lifted the notebook, "I let him go."

Sakura remained silent for a moment, understanding what was happening. "Are you sure?"

Tomoyo sighed inwardly and gave a soft smile. "I'll be okay, Sakura."
