Last Chapter:
Eriol smiled as he saw her eased a bit. Then he put his hands on his pockets and pulled out a familiar object. "Remember this?" he said, showing a wishbone.
Tomoyo nodded. How could she forget? It was her gift to him for his birthday. She had a crazy time finding it, but the smile he gave her after she handed it to him made her feel it's worth it.
"I have my wish now."
Curiosity kicking in, Tomoyo hesitated at first. She was afraid what he would ask, but trust found its way and made her reach the other half. 'Whoever would have the longest part will have his wish come true.'
They held each others gaze for a moment and split the bone into two.
Eriol looked at his half. "Mine is longer." he said, pulling up a small smile. "Goodbye, Tomoyo." Then he stepped back and left her in awe.
Final chapter:
Heaven by Your Side
They said, there are two important moments in a man's life. First would be the day he'll meet the love of his life and second would be the day he marry her.
"Ready?" Tomoyo asked, smiling at the stunning man in front of her. It was early in the morning, but she was already busy checking on some minute details for the event they all have been waiting for.
Looking at his adjusted suit in Tomoyo's hands, Syaoran looked up and smiled back. "Are you ready too?"
Tomoyo raised a brow, trying to know what he meant. Then she realized, Syaoran knew. Even though they didn't really became the closest of friends, she and Syaoran shared some moments before and probably, that was enough for him to see through her feelings as well. She scribbled on her notebook. "I am happy if the person I love the most is happy. Even if I am not a part of it."
"No one is going to let you go, Tomoyo." Syaoran said, making Tomoyo remember a certain person who suddenly walked away on her few days ago. She knew her heart broke as she saw him leaving, but at the same time relieved that it was finally over. However, she felt that no one knew about the incident though, since Sakura and Syaoran didn't dare to talk about him and she had no plans of initiating it too.
Tomoyo gave a small smile. "Best wishes for you and Sakura, Li." With that, she decided to leave to check the reception first before she drowned herself in dressing Sakura. She neededed to set up, for she knew that once the wedding ceremonies started, she wouldn't stop filming her best friend.
Three hours to go.
Tomoyo took a deep breath as she hopped in the car. Things would be perfect today. She was sure. Arriving at the place, she smiled inwardly as she saw the decorations. It was the way she imagined it, simple yet elegant. She talked to the technical person first, wanting to watch the movie she made. She opened her bag, when suddenly, she saw a certain auburn haired lady standing by the doorway.
"Sakura, what are you-"
Sakura shook her head, stopping her from writing. "I am not getting married today, Tomoyo."
Eyes widening, Tomoyo was surprised to hear those words. She just checked on Syaoran few moments ago. So what the hell was happening?
Sakura let Tomoyo struggle at first before taking the disc out of her hand. Swiftly, she pulled it in and colors started to appear on the white wall. She dimmed the lights and watched Tomoyo stare at the video before her.
"What are you doing?"
The English man stood in front of her and extended his arm. "Doing something spontaneous." He answered. "I wasn't able to dance you ever right?"
Tomoyo froze on her position, not knowing what on earth was going on. She remembered vividly that day because it was one of the most amazing things that happened to her. It was the day that she was only the person that mattered for the person she was with.
"Let's stop doing something random now, shall we?" Eriol said in a soft tone and she simply nodded in agreement. "Do you really want me to answer your question?"
She nodded.
"Smile for me."
And she did. She didn't know what came into Eriol why he kept on telling her to smile, but it was worth it. Being with him gave her a sense of security and peace.
"Do you want to know more?"
Tomoyo stared at him, not knowing what he up to.
"Click the button on the hand of the bear."
Tomoyo did as she was told. And then -"
I love you. I love you. I love you"
And she could never forget that day when she allowed herself to open up again and him, to first tell the words that he never tried to say before.
Tears found it's way on Tomoyo's amethyst eyes. She knew that the next seconds would mean a lot to her.
"I love you."
Tomoyo blinked and felt her chest tightened. The screen before her disappeared, giving the place more darker in appearance. She was scared of the dark before, but hearing his voice with those three perfect words were turning it all around. She stood still, feeling her heart beat faster. There was no mistaking it. Eriol was behind her.
"I love you." Eriol repeated, this time softer. He saw her close her eyes, as if comprehending the simple words he gave. "I know you want to leave or to run. I won't stop you though, because I already saw my answer the last time I saw you."
Finally, Tomoyo turned around and let herself be lost to the sapphire eyes that were searching for her amethyst eyes. She thought that he already left her alone but he was here, looking at her lovingly. The part of her that died when she saw him leave was coming to a blur, and all the memories on them together were flashing back to her.
"I know you lost your voice." Eriol said, soft. "However, believe me that it wasn't enough for me to walk away. I know you don't want me to endure. But being with you doesn't mean that I need to sacrifice. I know you are not perfect. We both are not. I made a promise before and I don't intend to stop. I love you, Daidouji Tomoyo and I want to spend the rest of my life protecting you."
Tomoyo's heart raced, as he saw him took out a small box and knelt down.

-Tomoyo's POV-
You and I cannot hide
The love we feel inside
The words we need to say
I feel that I have always walked alone
But now that you're here with me
There'll always be a place that I can go
Sometimes, the best moments in life would come unexpectedly. It would come to you without warnings, without even a single clue. And sometimes, you couldn't know that it is the best moment until you are already there, petrified.
"I told you I wasn't getting married today." Sakura greeted happily, as I entered the room. With the look on her face, I could tell that she knew Eriol's plan all along. I wasn't sure when it started, but it looked like everything was perfectly set. "Congratulations, Tomoyo."
I smiled, but teary at the same time. Now I know why Sakura wasn't freaking out like a bride should be. Being her best friend, I didn't occur to me that the her simple questions for me regarding the colors and the design would lead to the wedding I new thought I would ever be at. "Thank you."
"Hey!" A Chinese accent entered the room, revealing Li Meiling. "What are you girls still being dramatic about? Let's get the bride ready shall we?" She smiled.
And suddenly our destiny has started to unfold
When you're next to me I can see
The greatest story love has ever told
Now my life is blessed with the love of an angel
How can it be true?
Somebody to keep the dream alive
The dream I found in you
I always thought that love would be
The strangest thing to me
But when we touch, I realize
That I found my place in heaven by your side
Few hours after all the sudden preparations and knowing how did Sakura and Syaoran explained to the elders that the wedding they have been preparing for was not actually for them, I found myself standing on a closed door of a church. There, I realized that having this moment was too much. Everything happened so fast that I didn't have time to comprehend, to stop and to feel that it was actually happening.
Slowly, the door opened, revealing the long aisle, the people and the soft music playing on the background. I felt my hand shake, but a soft hand touched my elbow.
"You can do this, Tomoyo." Sakura said. "He's waiting for you."
I could fly, when you smile
I'd walk a thousand miles
To hear you call my name
Now that I have finally found the one
Who will be there for me
Eternally my everlasting sun
With that, I started to walk. My steps were slow, trying to cherish each moment. I looked straight, but also saw the important people in my life. Li Yelan was also there, smiling at me supportively. Then I saw him. I saw the man who made me believe in myself and in everything I do. Honestly, I didn't imagine getting married after all that has happened to me, but seeing him made me realize that bad things happen because they lead you to the right places.
Suddenly our destiny has started to unfold
When you're next to me I can see
The greatest story love has ever told
Now my life is blessed with the love of an angel
How can it be true?
Somebody to keep the dream alive
The dream I found in you
I always thought that love would be
The strangest thing to me
But when we touch, I realize
That I found my place
I gave my hand to him, and Eriol smiled and gently took mine into his. I looked at him only to see him mumble another I love you. I wanted to answer, but was unable to. However, it didn't matter. We have eternity to learn. To discover. Now, I just know that I found my right place—by his side.
Heaven by your side.
