"Jellybean? Huh? Do you want a jellybean? D'aww you're SO cute! God damn it! Here you go you little-"
"Cove, you're creeping me out."
The doodle chewed on the small jellybean that Cove handed him.
"Roll over!" Cove exclaimed, and the red pet looked at him with a perplexed expression. Mildew snorted.
"Looks like he didn't have enough time to train it. Where did you get those jellybeans anyway?" Cove looked down at the rainbow-colored beans.
"Raven gave them to me. And Mutant had given them to her." Mildew considered this.
When he noticed a flicker of movement, Cove looked outside the window of the medical center. He saw a large crowd of people- some obviously in the military, and others that were poor and not taken care of.
"Crap. Cove, take Ravioli back to Raven. Make sure they're both safe," Mildew ordered, and stood up from his spot on a seat. He straightened out his clothes and blew a piece of red fur off of his arm.
"Do I look professional?"
"Beautiful as ever darlin'!" Cove joked.
Mildew rushed to the door and quickly swung it open, revealing the dusty land of Kimbara Outback. Brave was the first person to approach him.
"Whisper while we walk," he quickly said, then they both started to make their way towards the gallows.
"They're using Astro to test for his 'loyalty.' Major wasn't able to get the other position, so they're going to be taken by surprise. Wiggle will give him misleading information, and then I need Cove to take them away immediately. Straight to Neopia." Mildew nodded.
"Got it. He's with Raven right now. I'm not sure if he knows we should hurry." Brave briskly nodded.
"Alright. I'll send Baron to inform him." Brave suddenly grabbed Mildew by the shoulders.
"Mildew, fuck this up and we're all dead, understand?"
"I've understood that since the beginning," he said, shrugging Brave off of his shoulders.
"Mildew, you would be the first to go. You know that right?" Mildew hissed at Brave.
"Brave, just shut up!" he yelled, and stomped over to the steps of the gallows. He bounded up the three wooden steps and greeted Crouching, the grey-haired higher-up that Brave had talked to the night before.
"How long before the suspects arrive?" Crouching asked, his blue eyes squinted at Mildew.
"We have men picking them up as we speak," Mildew informed him with a smile.
"Tell me, how do you plan to discard the bodies?" Crouching asked him.
"I have an acquaintance that owns a ship. He has agreed to dump them into the sea. Near Neopia, of course. We wouldn't want the Jamaa waters to get anymore contaminated, do we?" Mildew carefully said.
"Acquaintance? And he is just doing it for free?" Mildew shook his head.
"Ah, no. He does require a small fee of 7,000 gems. I will gladly pay that out of my own pocket, sir," Mildew answered.
"Nonsense, I will pay the fine. Getting rid of scum is worth the gems."
Hell yes, Mildew thought. Free gems!
Sir Astro walked alongside Knight, who was possibly the scariest, most neurotic guy he had ever met. He was 10x worse than Sir Astro himself, which kind of scared him.
"Then I shot her right in the eye!" Knight exclaimed, holding up the gun that had been giving to him. When Knight erupted with laughter, the only thing Astro could think was, who the hell would give him a gun?
"Very funny," he absentmindedly commented.
"Wish we could kill them right now. I hate that we have to string out the death."
"Really? That doesn't sound like you," Sir Astro muttered.
"Hey! There they are!" Asto felt a sudden jolt of fear. He couldn't let Knight get to them first.
Sir Astro located the patch of blue that belonged to Mutant and started running towards it. He hated having to do this. He hated everything about the situation. Why couldn't Club Penguin leave them alone? Toontown was so small that they could've shared the land together. But no, they needed it all to themselves. If Astro ever saw a black-haired Penguin member again he would need restraints to stop himself from killing them.
"Sir Astro?" he heard Mutant call. God damn it. He hated this.
Knight hit Clark in the head with the back of his gun and he fell to the ground. Sir Astro cringed at the sight.
"I'm sorry," he lightly mouthed to Mutant, then did the same to him.
Mildew lightly smiled at the sight of a limp Mutant. He was obviously slipping in and out of consciousness, which Mildew found amusing. Clark, on the other hand, was completely unconscious. Mildew thought he vaguely resembled a dead person, which was frightening to him. He wasn't that used to death.
"Today you are here to witness the hangings of Clark and Mutant," Mildew suddenly announced to the crowd that had joined in front of the gallows.
"Not only are they illegal immigrants, but they have also come here to start a war."
The crowd gasped.
"But Jamaa is stronger." He paused, trying to add a dramatic affect. Mildew loved theater. "They also caused great damage to Jamaa's economy when working in the mines. When they were sent into slavery that wasn't good enough either, as they caused a suicide and great fines to their master."
Several people started to discuss the problem. Some were very bitter, while others appeared to talk about it rationally. Mildew was disgusted by all of them.
Sir Astro and Knight brought them up to the platform, next to Mildew. They were both collapsed on the ground, but Mutant showed some sings of movement.
"Since we have these gallows, we will use them to our advantage. I know it has become common to use the standard drop method, but we will be using the suspension method today. Helping us is Sir Astro and Knight."
As Knight and Sir Astro brought them up around the back steps to the noose, Crouching stood up from the front of the crowd.
"How long will they be suspended?"
Mildew gestured to the shorter, sienna-haired guy next to him.
"We have Professor Wiggle to tell us the specifics. Wiggle, go ahead."
Professor Wiggle cleared his throat.
"The standard drop would work instantly. However, since you are so inclined to use the elongated and painful suspension method, they will have to be suspended for 3-5 minutes to ensure death," he lied.
Crouching squinted at him.
"Knight, Astro, leave them suspended for 8 minutes," he ordered. At Professor Wiggle's gasp, he corrected himself. "Make that 9."
Sir Astro gingerly put the noose around Mutant's neck. He tightened it, not all the way, but just enough to not look suspicious. Knight, on the other hand, had tightened the twine so much that Clark appeared to be choking already.
"Is that necessary?" Astro asked.
"Nope." He cringed at how cold Knight was. Everything about Jamaa was awful.
Mildew examined the two toons in front of him. It was disturbing to see them so… Helpless. He didn't enjoy seeing people be tortured.
He cleared his throat, then continued, "Crouching will remove the blocks from underneath them," he ended, not feeling the want to drag it out anymore.
He saw Mutant struggle out of the corner of his eye. God damn it, he thought. Of course he had to fight it.
Couching slowly made his way up the stairs and approached them. They had been standing on two wooden blocks. Once those were taken out from underneath them, they would be suspended only by their throat. For eight whole minutes.
Crouching didn't waste any time. He quickly lifted the boxes out from underneath the toons. First Clark, then Mutant.
Mildew cringed at the sight of the suspended blue-haired boy.
For the first four minutes they struggled. Then, they were completely still.
