Think I should start putting in warnings... So, warning! Death! Hints of abuse! Mildew!

"Don't cry," Mildew told the kid next to him.
They hid behind the large marble column, and Mildew found himself quickly breaking his own rule. "Don't cry," he repeated, although this time it was more for himself than for his companion.
"Mildew!" a voice had boomed from somewhere nearby.
The blonde-haired boy named Mildew threw his hand up to his mouth and crumpled down to the floor, sliding against the pillar as he did so. In just seconds his bare feet turned numb against the cold marble floor.
"Please come out. What did I do wrong?"
"Cover your ears," Mildew whispered to the boy at his side.
Footsteps pounded closer, closer, towards the two brothers, and with each second Mildew's heartbeat increased.
He mouthed the word follow and headed for the nearest pillar, making sure to stay low and walking toes to heel, toes to heel.
He swung around the column and made eye contact with the scared boy that was still at the previous pillar.
"Come on," Mildew whispered, and waved his hands towards his chest.
"Come-"
Mildew was about to repeat his previous sentence, but was interrupted by a shriek.
A single arm raised his brother upwards, and Mildew felt a sudden, terrible sinking feeling.
"Comet!" he screeched to his brother, but Comet's mouth was already covered by a large hand.
"I have your precious brother now, Mildew. Come close- nice and easy- and he lives. Stay there and- SHIT!"
He suddenly threw his hand forward, and Mildew could see a tiny red dot on his middle finger.
"Don't come Mildew!" Comet yelled. "Don't co-"
His mouth was covered again, and Mildew felt a choking feeling inside his throat. Had Comet really told him to not save him? To not save the only person that mattered to him- his brother?
"No!" Mildew yelled. "I can't! We'll figure it out!" He began walking slowly towards Comet, but his brothers muffled yells stopped him in his tracks.
"Go Mildew!"
Comet was thrown against one of the marble columns, and a sickening thud sounded as his forehead nearly split against the structure.
"Stop it!" Mildew exclaimed. "Stop it! Kill me, not him! He doesn't deserve it!"
"I'll kill you," the man responded coldly, "but he isn't going to be saved."
With a single, sudden movement, Comet's neck was broken. Mildew expected him to be dead instantly- to suddenly drop and stay still- but it was even worse.
His brother's disfigured body lay squirming on the floor and he felt tears building in his eyes.
He wanted to cry out; to stay and help Comet. And he wanted to beat the living shit out of the man that murdered him.
Those thoughts disintegrated as he remembered his brothers last dying words: Go.
Go, Mildew.
Run away.
Save yourself.
Don't worry about me.
At that moment he knew he had to run away. Not because he wanted to, but because Comet wanted him to. After all, Comet was the only thing that mattered to him.

"Alright, but how are they not going to be killed instantly?" Captain Cove asked the sienna-haired professor in front of him.
After releasing a sigh, Professor Wiggle responded: "a cervical fracture is not going to result in death immediately. In fact, with short drops, it should take about 10 minutes for the victim to die."
"And how do we get past that?" Mildew asked, wanting to get to the point.
"Simple," Professor Wiggle said with a smirk. "I tell whatever dumb ass that's running the whole thing that it only takes five minutes. That way we can assure Mutant and Clark's survival," Wiggle explained.
"That is a pretty good plan," Cove said thoughtfully.
"Wiggle's always been the best at plans. He'd send Mutant on elaborate missions to deliver something to me without actually seeing me," Sir Astro butted in. "I'm just such a dangerous guy," he added sarcastically.
"Alright, enough with the games. Astro, Brave, get out of here. Someone's going to be suspicious if they
realize military people are in the most notorious place for Jamaa rebels," Mildew quickly said.
"As you wish, Lord Mildew," Sir Astro muttered as he made his way towards the wooden door.
"I'll leave too," Wiggle offered. "I'm not even supposed to be here. Make sure he doesn't get killed, alright?"
"That's all you," Mildew replied flatly.
Once they were alone, Cove took the opportunity to speak.
"Mildew, what's with you?"
"I just don't like talking about 'cervical fractures.' Doesn't seem like a topic anyone should dwell on."
"I see. Well, I'm going to get Raven and Ravioli. Maybe then we'll have something to do besides mope around."
"You never mope around, Cove. It's all me," Mildew said with a wink.

I'm so glad to be writing this story again! Man, every time I hear Lead Me Home by Jamie N. Commons I think of Mildew and I really want to write this story.

Also, whenever I hear a Queen song. For some reason I always imagine Sir Astro being voiced by Freddie Mercury... (Seriously. Listen to Somebody To Love. I can't not picture Sir Astro singing!)

I'm pretty sure the next chapter is going to be the last chapter.

But whaaat? How would that be a satisfying ending?

;D
