Now that Jane was the one setting the pace they moved a lot faster. She set off at a fast jog that the knights had to keep up with, which normally they could easily but after being captured by the bandits and morgana their muscles had gone stiff from lack of youse.
Mary trotted behind easily keeping up with the pace that Jane had set now that she had turned into a horse. Witch Elizabeth was grateful for. Now she didn't have to run witch made her fell so much better, the painkillers couldn't completely block all the pain and they did nothing for her rolling stomach.
Although she was slightly worried that now the men knew that she was a shape shifter. They had seemed very suspicious and nervous when she first changed, facts they still did. But then most people were there were so many vicious rumors about magic spread by Uther and other like him.
They arrived at their hide out in good time; there were still a couple of hours before it would be dark. Elizabeth slid off Mary's back but landed a little too hard and jarred her injuries.
"Are we there?" Asked Leon looking around not seeing any kind of shelter, fire pit, belongings or anything to indicate that this was a hide out.
"Look up" Jane said walking up to a tree and beginning to climb.
The men all looked up and to their amassment up in the tree tops they saw the bottom of a wooden platform.
Merlin and Arthur dismounted from Mary before in a flash of light she changed back to human.
"We needed to get something ready for dinner" Mary said putting her pack on the ground, before holding out her hand to Percival who had Elizabeth's pack.
"I hunt, you forage and check traps?" Jane called down
"Ok" she agreed
"What about me" Elizabeth asked on wanting to just sit around while they worked
"You're on food prep" Jane yelled now at the platform
"Come on" Elizabeth moaned "I am not that hurt"
"Yes you are, you're just drugged up on pain killers" Mary snapped back. Then turning to the men she asked "who wants to come with me and who wants to go with Jane?"
After some debating, as no one wanted to go with Jane it was decided that Gwaine and Leon would go with Mary, Percival would go with Jane and Arthur and merlin would stay with Elizabeth as they there injured, which Arthur was rather unhappy with.
The two groups set out leaving Elizabeth alone with merlin and Arthur. She opened the bag that Jane had brought down from the plat form. Inside was a pot, flint, some kindling, water and knifes for cooking. She began to set up a fire so that when everyone returned with food the fire was already hot.
"Do you want me to find some larger pieces of wood?" Arthur asked
Elizabeth looked up from her work "yes that would be good thanks"
"I'll help too" merlin said trying to get up
"No you won't" Arthur protested gently pushing merlin back down "you're not doing anything for a while"
