Chapter 14

It was nearly sunset by the time Touma awoke from his slumber. The elder pureblood was once again trapped in the form of a child, a handicap he didn't enjoy having. Yet tonight was different, he would be expecting an important visitor soon and thus his plan shall commence in recapturing the heart of Zero.

As it was there was unwanted company, in Touma's standards, surrounding Zero. This made the probability of getting close to Zero undoubtedly very low. The younger Kiryu twin was unpredictable in terms of what the other thought in his mind. Then there was another mixed within Zero's company who stood apart as the figure of a prince, who unfortunately happened to be his pupil and the one Touma was most uncertain about.

Kaname Kuran, whose family led the vampire world in the shadows. He was a prince by nature yet he withdrew himself from the family business to become a singer. Undoubtedly he did possess amazing vocal skills since he was young. Yet why his younger pupil would seek Zero, Touma could easily guess that much since it was the same pull that drew Touma in many years ago.

Zero was as interesting as he was beautiful, but there was also an underlining reason to why specifically purebloods were attracted by him. But that was a revelation for another time. Right now, the top priority Touma harbored had many tough obstacles to overcome. It would not be so easy to be the first person to capture the very affection of the object of his admiration and love.

But this was no time for regrets or giving up. Touma was determined to make his objective, no matter what he had to do. If trying to do it in a manner that respected the rules and boundaries Zero had established was impossible, then Touma had no choice but to break them in order to get what he wanted.

So a plan was made, a daring one at that. Yet once the decision was made, Touma would let nothing sway him. After all, he was in a decisive battle between two others.

Touma sighed and leaned his body against the cushioned seat in his hotel's living room. The room was quiet for he was alone, so to hear footsteps here at this time of day was rare but they were coming closer toward his hotel's suite room door.

Touma waited for the knock at his door before using his powers to unlock it before it opened. A young male with soft blonde curly hair walked hurriedly into the room after closing the door behind him.

"Forgive me Touma-sama for being late." The young man apologized, his head bowed.

Touma eyed him before speaking. "Usually such things would irritate me, however, I only just now woken up myself. So your tardiness is forgiven."

"Oh thank you Touma-"

Touma raised a hand to silence the boy. "Please sit."

The boy nodded and sat in the single chair before Touma.

For a while Touma remained silent as he observed the young male. He was handsome Touma would give him that. Standing at about 5'11 with a stocky toned build and beautiful platinum blonde hair on top his head. The boy's eyes were a light golden color with a hint of bluish-green in them that nearly matched Touma's hazel ones, which was the proud possession only the relatives of the Touma clan had.

Yet the color of the eyes wouldn't really matter once the transition of bodies was made.

It wasn't uncommon for purebloods to switch bodies with other's of their own clan or with a member of their relative gene pool. Touma could name a few off the top his head that did this. Shizuka Hiou and Rido Kuran being the top two. While his body slumbered, his soul and subconscious would posses another who carried his genes, it was the only solution Touma had to get close to Zero.

His only other option.

"My lord, excuse me for asking but what if we were to get caught and be punished?"

The boy was clearly afraid of the outcome since it was against the vampire society's rules to take possession of another's body without a proper hearing approving it. However, Touma didn't have time for that, he needed to be in a body that could protect Zero from a distance.

Despite the anguished expression on the young man's face, Touma did not hesitate. And without paying the slightest attention to the words of the younger individual, Touma sighed deeply again.

Touma's sigh seemed loud in the absolute silence that followed.

Touma understood the other's feelings quite well. Respectable young purebloods in general from influential families didn't have the courage to break the rules. Even for him, this was the first time he had ever considered going out of his way for someone. Yet this was for Zero, the man he loved.

"Worry not dear nephew…" Touma reassured. "I will be very careful."

The young level AB mix, nodded his head. Touma could see his nephew's concern over him on his face and he appreciated it. If they were caught, it would not end with just being expelled from the vampire society, but it could also mean that he will be forced into a deep slumber for any x amount of years as punishment where he would not be able to be with Zero.

However, his love for the young silver haired youth made him feel like he was floating on air. Zero was that mysterious being whom Touma could only watch from afar, but would do anything for him. Zero was the most important person to him in the world.

If just once, he could find a way to let him know, that would be sufficient. It was the need to realize that desire which had prompted him the determination to fight for whatever he could salvage from their broken relationship, it was this that led him to do this daring mission. The idea to out smart the rest burned brightly in him.

So for this plan to work it was essential to make it so that Zero couldn't use the charm he had on Touma's body, which was the cause for his small size and the small amount of power he could use, against him.

'I hope it's worth the effort in doing this.' Touma thought.

The distance between the two vampires was far shorter than the young vampire had expected as he stared at his uncle in silence.

The idea of lending his body was frightening but he knew his uncle had his reasons for which he wasn't told, and that was fine with him. He respected his uncle; he wasn't cruel or disdainful, much like his pureblood mother who hated the very sight of him for his pureblood father's affair with a noble woman who conceived him. He was much like an outcast already in the vampire world and the only one to fully accept him was Touma who didn't care about his past or his bloodline and saw him as a person, as an individual.

Reclaiming his courage again, the young blond remained where he was until his uncle finally stood from his seat.

"Are you ready?"

The young mix blood didn't need to second guess himself as he nodded and stood before following Touma into the next room.

Ichiru held the phone to his ear as he listened quietly as the person on the other side spoke. Shizuka's head lay rested on the younger twin's lap as he idly stroked her hair as the two sat on the couch inside the young Kiryu's home.

"Uh-huh, that sounds like a perfect idea." Ichiru answered with a smile on his face. "I'm sure onii-san would love to come."

There was silence once more as the other person on the other line said something that made Ichiru throw his head back and laugh. Once the other stopped laughing there was a toothy grin on his face.

"Of course, there's no way he would refuse."

Silence again.

"You let me worry about that when the time comes."

Shizuka watched as the other's grin grew.

"See to it that it's ready before then. I'll speak to you later then, and don't worry…we'll be seeing you soon."

Ichiru hung up the phone once the dial tone was heard before placing the house phone back in its place on the side table beside the couch he was on and all the while he was doing that there was still a grin plastered across his face.

"Are you going to tell me why it is you are grinning from ear to ear so much?" Shizuka asked once the other was back to stroking her hair again after he had stopped a few moments before.

"I am just marveling at the potential success of my plan B in regaining my twin beside me again."

"What is it that makes you so sure it will work?"

"Let's just say it will reopen some old wounds that will have him crawling back to me in no time."

'And this time, he will belong to me and no one else.' Ichiru thought silently to himself as his master plan unfolded in his mind.
