Chapter 14-The Three Powers Summit Begins...Almost

"So, you're really Vale's mother?" Rias asked the beautiful blonde Vampire seated next to Vale, across the table from her as Akeno poured tea for their guest. They were back at the clubhouse, and Evangeline had changed into a white dress shirt and a functional black skirt as she sat with her legs crossed and her hands folded neatly in her lap as Vale sat stiff-backed next to her, looking mildly terrified as he did. Sweat poured down his face as he fidgeted nervously next to her. After the situation at the pool had been resolved, Rias had invited Evangeline back to the clubhouse so they could all get acquainted.

"Yeah, not to be rude or anything, but how can you be his mom? He's a Devil and you're a Vampire, how does that even work?" Issei asked quizzically from across the table.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't exactly get to have a hallmark family like yours! So what if my "family" aren't related. So what if my "brother" is the great-grandson of Lucifer and my "mother" is a Vampire? Or is it a race thing? Are Vampires just invisible to you, you racist bastard!" Vale said venomously as he almost lunged across the table to attack Issei, but he was stopped by Evangeline gently laying a hand on his shoulder.

"Vale it's okay, I'm sure the foolish boy didn't mean anything by it. After all, we are quite the pair." Evangeline said serenely as Vale lowered himself back onto the couch.

"But to answer your question, I raised Vale for almost 2 full years after I found him dying in the backstreets of London several years ago. Unfortunately, as I am a Vampire, I have precious little knowledge of healing magic so I had to use other methods to nurse him back to health. After which, I took him under my wing, teaching him to hone his demonic powers as well as teaching him in magic and hand-to-hand combat. Not to gloat, but I'm probably the only reason he's still alive." she said as she folded her hands in her lap once more.

"Well then, I must give you my thanks. Without Vale, my life would probably be radically different. But, that still leaves one question. Why are you here now?" Rias asked as she sipped her tea gracefully.

"I'm hear for his class observation, among other things. He thought he could keep it from me, but I found out. Naughty boy, you should have known Chachamaru would tell me about it if you told her." she said as she pinched and pulled Vale's cheek with the creepiest smile on her face as Vale did his darnedest not to cry.

"I'm sowwy mom, pleashe shtop. It huwts" Vale said through tear-filled eyes as Evangeline mercilessly pulled his cheek once more before releasing him. Vale rubbed his still sore cheek as Evangeline asked,

"Would it be too much of an imposition to let me stay with you while I'm here in town? I'm afraid in my haste to see my son once more, I arrived without a place to stay in mind."

"But of course, any friend of Vale's is a friend of ours." Rias replied elegantly as she sipped her tea again.

"Thank you so much. Now, if you'd be so kind, I'd like a word alone with my son."

"Of course, let's go my servants. It's time you met my other Bishop anyways." Rias said as she stood up and escorted her servants deeper into the schoolhouse. Vale dismissed Kanda and Mil-tan with a wave of his hand, who both wandered back to their respective apartments for the night.

"First things first, this belongs to you." Evangeline said as she handed Vale what appeared to be and oversized tarot card decorated with magic circles and glyphs and words written in Latin. But by far the most obvious fact about it was the picture of Vale dressed in a jacket and blue jeans surrounded by a double helix of books holding a bookmark decorated with a black horsehair tassel inscribed on the front.

"Oh wow, haven't seen this in forever! Does it still work? Is the pact still valid?" Vale asked excitedly as he took the card and turned it over in his hands to examine it.

"Indeed it is, for now anyways. It's been collecting data through your experiences and your Drain Zero ever since you left, though. By now I'll bet even "that man's" one probably doesn't have as much data accrued as yours. Though his probably has more data on more powerful people." Evangeline said as began to sip her tea.

"Well, that's only normal considering the people Al traveled with. But still, I'll bet I've got a few surprises cataloged. So why'd you bring this with you?" he asked as he pocketed the card.

"Are you kidding? A meeting between these three factions, trouble's bound to pop up. You need to be prepared, and let's face it. This is your strongest tool you've got."

"This is true. But, I have a question mom." Vale said as he turned to face her as she sipped tea from her cup.

"What is it, my boy?" she asked with a smile.

"Where are Chachamaru and Chachazero? It's not like you to leave home without them." he asked with a concerned tone. Evangeline froze in place, her cup halfway to her her plate. The immortal woman, just for one second, totally frozen in time, in that moment she was so still that Vale couldn't be sure she was even real. The instant passed and she finished placing her cup on her plate with a small clink.

"Oh, you know Chachamaru's been so busy helping boya out with his work on Mars, remember before you left she was hardly ever around to begin with." she said casually as she nonchalantly flipped her hair.

"And Chachazero, your oldest companion. What about her?"

"... It's not important. Anyways, I think I'll go find myself a room." Evangeline said as she stood up and headed towards the door of the clubroom. Vale watched her go, he knew his mother well enough to know pushing the matter was a lost cause, as it would probably end up physically hurting more than it helped. He was about to waste some time and chase after her when his phone rang.

"Hello." he said as he flipped open his cellphone.

"Hello, Vale Beleth?" a voice said from the other end. It belonged to a man, but other than that Vale couldn't tell.

"Speaking." Vale replied warily, he knew the number of every person he'd ever given his number and this wasn't one of them. Which means they had tracked him down. People did this for one of two reasons, revenge or they needed something. He sincerely hoped this person's reason was the latter.

"Hello, my name is Ajuka Beelzebub. Are you at the Occult Research club's clubhouse right now? I have some pressing matters to discuss with you." the man said.

"Uhhhh... yeah, I am." Vale replied uncertainly.

"Excellent." "The man said before hanging up. Seconds later, a blue light appeared in the center of the room. The source of the light was a magic circle with unfamiliar markings. Shortly after its appearance, a handsome young man appeared inside the magic circle. There was nothing especially odd about him, but he gave Vale the same feeling most people said that he himself gave them. Which made him very uncomfortable, he knew people like that weren't to be trusted. But... then again, he was trustworthy enough to be made a Satan so there was that going for him...

"Hi, Sirzechs should've told you I was stopping by. I'm here to examine that little contraption you debuted against Riser Phenex-san." Ajuka said, clearly in no mood for small-talk, this caught Vale off-guard, he had always assumed the current Beelzebub was an eccentric hikkikomori, due to his reputation of not concerning himself with Underworld affairs.

"Oh... Okay, do you wanna see the others too?" Vale asked as he stood up and summoned the Abyssal Draining.

"There are others?" Ajuka asked with interest as a magic circle appeared in his hands and he began moving it up and down the black tail, completely ignoring the man it was attached to.

"Well, yeah. I wasn't just gonna make the one then stop. I copied both of Kiba's and I'm experimenting with making one that make's a fusion of holy and demonic power but it's pretty tricky. They don't stabilize well after they mix. But, I'm confident that I'll get it eventually. Currently also messing with a Twice Critical, but it's on the back burner." Vale said as Ajuka continued to scan him.

"Really? How do you find time to that and keep up with homework?" Ajuka asked as he continued to manipulate the magic circle..

"Hah! Homework, that's funny. You're funny." Vale said with a chuckle. Ajuka frowned at the comment, but said nothing.

"Well, enough scanning. Time for some tests." Ajuka said as he summoned a larger magic circle.

"Alright, I got time." Vale said with a casual shrug.

Over the next few hours Vale demonstrated the capabilities of his Abyssal Gears to Ajuka as well as informing him of a few ideas for modifications he wanted to make to them. They both agreed that it would be greatly beneficial to the Devils if they could find a way to mass distribute them as well as making Rating Games much more interesting.

"Yeah, but how are we gonna find a way to distribute these? We can't very well just let people line up to receive one. We need some way to randomize the process like the way humans get their Sacred Gears." Vale said thoughtfully as he rested in an armchair.

"Hmm... What if we implanted them in random Evil Pieces? That way some people could get them and others wouldn't. Like Mutation Pieces." Ajuka replied as he tapped his chin pensively.

"Hmm, well what if they react to a Sacred Gear? Or what if they don't play well with Fallen Angels, Yokai, or Dragons? We have no idea if they'll interfere with the Evil Pieces, I've got a King Piece so none of my abilities are affected by them. But what if they mess with the boosting abilities of a Rook, Bishop, Knight, or Queen?"

"Well, I have enough data to replicate the sword making ones and the Twice Critical. I'll synthesize a few and get back to you. Though, I think this will change the way Rating Games are fought quite a bit in the future. Also, if you'd like I can send you a few other Sacred Gear possessors, and I'm sure Azazel would not mind sending you a few. He's head over heels about stuff like this, which I'm sure you already know."

"Yeah, I know. I'd love to see what a Divine Dividing one looks like. Or maybe what Slash Dog's ability does. Except maybe instead of a dog I could do a Dragon, that's be cool." Vale said dreamily as he rested his chin on his palm and began to stare off, obviously a million miles away.

"Yes... Well, anyways I think that's enough for now. But, before I go, Sirzechs wanted you to know that Michael requested an audience with you tomorrow at the shrine where Himejima-san lives at noon. You should go, I think it will be beneficial for everyone if you do." Ajuka said as he stood up as a transportation magic circle materialized on the floor.'

"What?! Why do I have to talk to that phony? I have no interest in hearing what he has to say!" Vale said angrily.

"Look, go or don't go, I'm just saying he wants to talk to you." Ajuka said as he stepped into the circle and vanished. Vale checked his phone to see that it was nine in the evening and decided he'd call it a night. He'd had a very long day, and at that moment nothing in all of creation seemed as wonderful as laying down in his bed. He pushed himself off the couch and headed back to his room. Once there, he stripped down to his underwear before donning his pajama bottoms before slipping under the covers.

Rias arrived about half an hour later, she was dressed in her summer uniform. She walked over to his bed and lowered herself onto it as she reached out and began to stroke his hair.

"So how was your day? I didn't see much of you after I left to introduce my servants to my other Bishop." she asked as she gently brushed a strand of hair behind his ear.

"Oh and how is Gasper doing? Still not leaving his room?" Vale asked as he slipped one arm around Rias' shoulder.

"Yeah. Wait, how do you know Gasper?" Rias asked, confused. She'd never told Vale about Gasper, and as far as she knew they'd never met.

"What, you think I lived here for almost 2 months and I'd never investigated the sealed room or the extra device on the Wi-Fi that's constantly eating up the bandwidth? C'mon you should know me better than that. Plus, me and his old friend Valerie go way back. Well, not that far back but I've met her."

"Oh... Yeah, he still won't go outside unless we force him. Sometimes I worry about him, I try my best to help him with his issues but I never seem to make any progress. Perhaps Issei can help him get over his fears. But anyways how was your day?"

"Well Ajuka Beelzebub showed up and we discussed my Abyssal Gears. We tried to think of a way to distribute them and make more of them but we didn't really settle on anything. Oh! But get this, apparently Michael wants an audience with me tomorrow at Akeno's place. Which reminds me, can I borrow Asia for a few hours tomorrow. I'm sure she'd love to meet the man who okayed her excommunication from the Church anyways."

"Well... I'll see if she has any contracts at that time. But if she's free, I don't see a problem with her going with you." Rias said after a moment's hesitation.

"Excellent." Vale said with a grin as he closed his eyes and let himself drift off to sleep.

The next morning Vale woke early and slipped out of his bed, careful not to wake Rias as he sneaked off to train. After he finished training he headed back to the clubroom to shower and change. After he finished changing, he went back to his room to grab his wallet. He was just leaving his room when he bumped into Asia who was wandering the halls for some reason.

"Oh, hey Asia-chan. What are you doing here?" he asked the former nun. Since it was still in the final days of the summer holiday, Asia was dressed in a tan, knee-length skirt and a pink blouse with her golden hair let down in its normal fashion.

"Oh, hello Vale-senpai, I didn't have any contracts today so Rias told me you had something you wanted to talk to me about. So, I thought I'd drop by to see what you needed." Asia said with a small bow as Vale closed the door to his bedroom behind him with a click.

"You don't need to call me senpai. Just Vale with no honorifics is fine. But, back to the topic at hand, I do need your help with something. Now, if you'd be so kind as to follow me, we'll be on our way." Vale said with a chortle as he took off for the exit.

"Umm... Okay. So, where are we going, Vale-sen... Vale?" Asia said as she promptly trotted after him. Vale was silent for a long while as they left the school building and began heading for the shrine at the edge of town. Until finally,

"Ah. We're here." Vale said as the massive torii gate came into view.

"Isn't this Akeno-senpai's house? What are we doing here?" Asia asked inquisitively as they arrived .

"It's not important, can you wait here? I'll call you in when I need you."

"Ah... okay. Are you gonna be okay Vale?" Asia asked fearfully.

"Hah! You're adorable, you know that?" Vale exclaimed as he gave Asia's head a pat before heading inside. Upon opening the door he was greeted by the sight of Akeno in her miko outfit.

"Hello, Vale-kun. If you'll just follow me, Michael-sama is this way." Akeno said as she gestured gracefully down the hall before starting in that direction, Vale close behind her. Before long, they arrived in what appeared to be an audience chamber. In the middle stood a handsome young man, with long blonde hair and green eyes with twelve golden wings spread out behind him with two halos resting above his head. He turned to face Vale and Akeno as they entered the room, a gentle smile on his face as he turned to greet them.

"Hello Beleth-san, I am the Archangel Michael. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"I'll leave you two alone to talk." Akeno said with a bow as she turned to leave.

"Actually Akeno-chan, if you'd be so kind as to bring Asia-chan in. I'd very much appreciate it." Vale said with a business-like tone before turning to face Michael.

"Certainly." Akeno said as she bowed out of the room to retrieve Asia. Once Akeno had left, Michael began to speak once more,

"Hello Beleth-san. I remember you prefer a straightforward approach to business, so I'll be frank with you. I've heard of your ability to create fully functional versions of Sacred Gears for Devils, I'd like you to do the same for the Angels of Heaven. Of course we're willing to pay you handsomely for this project, in fact, we are prepared to offer you a down payment in the form of "this". We've placed several seals on it so you should be able to wield it with no problems." Michael said as he extended his hands and materialized a sword between them, Vale recognized the appearance and aura as that of Ascalon, a Holy Dragon-Slayer sword wielded by St. George to slay a dragon. Vale was silent as he brought a hand to his chin and began to ponder the Archangel's offer before finally saying,

"Nah."

"I'm sorry?" Michael replied, obviously dumbstruck that Vale had rejected his offer.

"You heard me, I have no interest in helping you. Plus, I already know how to make Dragon-Slayer swords, All you need to do is soak a blade in dragon's blood overnight to turn it into a Dragon-Slayer. If, by some miracle I was interested in a Holy Sword it wouldn't be that one. I'd be more interested in Excalibur. But, the bottom line is, I have no intention of helping you, now or ever." Vale said. Michael's face wore an expression of shock, as if it had never occurred to him that Vale would decline his offer. He had probably thought that Vale would be so wowed by Ascalon that he'd jump at the chance to obtain it. Michael was in the process of formulating a response when Asia poked her head in, saying as she did,

"Umm Vale? Akeno-senpai said you wanted to see me? Is everything alright?" Asia asked timidly.

"Ah! Asia-chan you're here, wonderful, come in. You know what Michael? If you can tell me who this is, I will help you. Heck, I'll do it free of charge." Vale said triumphantly as Asia walked in and took a spot standing next to him.

"... I'm sorry, I have no idea who that young woman is." Michael said after several quiet minutes.

"This wonderful young lady, is Asia Argento-chan. Bishop of Rias Gremory, and most interesting of all, former Holy Maiden of the Church, not to mention a close personal friend of mine. That is, until you excommunicated her for helping one of my kind." Vale said as he laid a hand on Asia's shoulder. Realization spread across Michael's face like a morning light cutting through the fog before finally, he said,

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that, but a Holy Maiden who can heal Devils threatened the system set in place by my father before he died. I apologize Argento-san, but what's done is done. Beleth-san I apologize, but I beg that you reconsider."

"Asia-chan, would you please leave? I'm about to use some language I don't want you to hear." Vale said flatly as he removed his hand from Asia's shoulder. Asia nodded quickly and scurried from the room.

"Beleth-san, before you say anything else. Perhaps you'll reconsider when you see what else we are willing to offer you to make Sacred Gears for us. Here, take a look at this." Michael said as he passed Vale a small rectangular box. It was only a little larger than Vale's palm, it was made of plain, smooth, dark wood with a clasp on the top. Vale opened the clasp with a click as he emptied the contents into his hand.

"These are..." Vale said as he rifled through the contents of the box in his hand. He couldn't believe he was holding a set of these, rumor was that no one outside of the Four Great Seraph had these. If Michael was willing to give him a set of them, then the Archangel must be desperate indeed.

"Indeed they are." Michael said with a gentle smile as he watched Vale flip through the items in his hand.

"Fine, I'll do it. But here are my conditions." Vale said as he put the contents back in their container before pocketing it...

Vale was on his way back to the clubhouse with Asia about half an hour later, he had agreed to start work on a set of Gears for Heaven that they had dubbed Heavenly Gears. It was a simple, if uninspired name. Due to his inexperience with Holy objects it was gonna take a while, but Michael had agreed to let Vale set the pace of the project and not to bother him for progress reports. Though, he was going to be getting quite a few visits from some of the Church's best exorcists in the next few weeks, he was not looking forward to that.

"So Asia-chan, I just wanted to say thanks for coming with me today. Is there anyway I can make it up to you?" Vale asked as they rounded the corner onto the street where the school's entrance sat.

"No, I don't need anything. I'm just glad to be able to meet Michael, I read so much about him while I was a nun I never thought I'd meet him. Not even if I lived a million years, so that was enough for me." Asia replied dreamily as she almost skipped down the street.

"Well, I'm glad at least one of us was excited to meet him. I for one, found the experience quite tiring." Vale said as he craned his neck to look up at the afternoon sky. It was a beautiful day, there was hardly a cloud in the sky as the sun shone brightly down onto the beautiful Japanese scenery. As they were nearing the school gate Vale lowered his gaze to see a familiar handsome young man with dark silver hair and blue eyes leaning coolly against the brick wall that bordered the sidewalk. The young man looked up as Vale neared him, flashing him a grin as he said,

"Long time no see, bro. How you been?" Vali said in a cocky tone as he stopped leaning on the wall and advanced on Vale.

"Oh my goodness! Vali Lucifer, how you been man?!" Vale said as he gathered Vali in a bear hug before releasing him once more.

"Bored, that's how I've been. Without you, there's no one in Grigori to compete with. Since, as you know, Slash Dog is no fun at all. Who's your cute friend though?" Vali asked as he turned to look at Asia.

"Oh, Vali this is Asia-chan. Asia-chan, this is Vali Lucifer, my brother from another mother." Vale said with a grin as he gestured to each of them in turn.

"It's very nice to meet you, Vali-san. So how long have you known Vale-san?" Asia asked with a small bow to the Half-Devil.

"Too long, that's how long. Oh the times we've had." Vali said as he turned to face his brother-in-arms.

"Yeah, like remember that time in Albania when we were hunting down Incinerate Anthem? We were looking up at the stars and I asked you what it meant." Vale said with a chuckle, as he reminisced fondly.

"Yeah, I said if every star was a sun, and even a few of them had planets like ours, then logic dictated somewhere out there there was some planet out there with life like ours." Vali said nostalgically as he gazed wistfully up at the sky.

"And I said, 'No Vali, it means someone stole our tent'!" Vale exclaimed as he and Vali burst out into raucous laughter. The laughed so hard they were doubled over clutching at their sides as tears streamed down their faces.

"Ah... Asia-chan you can head home, we're gonna be here awhile." Vale said as he wiped the tears from his eyes.

"Alright, well it was nice to meet you Vali-san. I'll see you around." Asia said with a bow as she took off for Issei's. Once Asia was out of earshot, Vale turned to face Vali,

"Alright spill it, word around the net is that you're about to defect to the Khaos Brigade. Is it true?" Vale asked with a frown as he turned to face Vali. Vali heaved a mammoth sigh before saying,

"Guess I should've known I couldn't hide something like that from you. Yeah, it's true. If this treaty goes through, nearly all the good fights will go away. You know how big a deal for me that is more than anyone. It's not like I'm doing this to get in trouble, but you know why I need to get stronger. I can't do that by sitting on my ass at Grigori." Vali said flatly. Vale was at a loss for words, Vali was right, and no one knew exactly how important it was to Vali to get strong as much as he did. But still, he couldn't let Vali become a pariah like those people. During his very brief stint in the Khaos Brigade, he'd realized that the whole organization was a powder keg for bad plots. Which is why he'd quit two days after joining. But perhaps there was another way Vali could get stronger, he thought as he fished the black case he always carried with him out of his pocket,

"Vali, your right. Sitting around at Grigori won't help you with your dream. I completely agree that your time at Grigori is coming to a close. But, what if I could offer you the chance to fight several of the strongest opponents out there, and the chance to get strong enough to beat you-know-who, all without becoming an outlaw. What would you say to that? Just you and me, like we always talked about while we worked at Grigori. Doesn't that sound fun? Plus, after you get strong enough, there's nothing saying you can't go your own way afterward." Vale said as he pulled out his most powerful piece.

"Why do I get the feeling this is too good to be true?" Vali asked suspiciously as he narrowed his eyes at Vale. Vale held up his Queen piece as he replied,

"That's the fun thing, it's not. As the last heir to my clan's line, I have total autonomy when it comes to my affairs, seeing as how I have no actual parents to tell me what to do or to pull my funding. So, what do you say? Your only other option is you join the Khaos Brigade and I hunt you down and kill you." Vale said as he offered the piece to Vali. Vali was silent for a long while, until,

"Hmm... Sure, why not? Besides, we're pretty great together anyways." Vali said with a grin as he took the piece from Vale...

Before anyone knew what had happened, summer break had ended and it was Class Observation day. The day was already half over, and Rias, Akeno, Sona, Tsubaki, Vale, and Vali were on their way to lunch. Vali had enrolled at the beginning of the semester at Kuoh Academy as a third-year student. Azazel had been a little disappointed at receiving Vali's resignation from Grigori, but was glad that he had elected to join Vale instead of the Khaos Brigade.

Rias was wrapped around Vale's arm as they headed to lunch, her face wore an empty expression due to the fact that her dad and brother had made an enormous scene, fawning over her during the Class Observation. Vali was sulking, as Azazel had arrived for the Class Observation and had decided to takes his queues from Rias' parents. Sona looked mildly relieved, but continued to glance around furtively as if she was expecting an attack at any moment. Tsubaki, Vale, and Akeno were acting like there normal selves, as their parents had elected not to come or in Vale's case had comported themselves with a fair amount of dignity.

"Ara, ara, looks like Buchou has reached her limit for today." Akeno said as she examined Rias, who was clutching Vale's arm muttering to herself.

"No more. No more. Must go to my happy place. Far away, away from the antics of Onii-sama and Otou-ue." she muttered to herself as they headed to the cafeteria. Sona placed a sympathetic hand on Rias' shoulder as she said,

"Rias, it's okay. You'll get through this. Once we're out of here, this won't seem so ba-..." Sona said as her voice trailed off mid-sentence as she caught sight of a large mob of people with cameras taking pictures of a person that Vale couldn't get a clear view of. Saji was on his way over to the crowd to get it to disperse, if Vale had to guess. Vale turned to Sona and watched as all color drained from her face.

"No... It can't be..." she said fearfully as she began to visibly shake. Vale turned to look at Saji, who was now in the process of clearing the photographers away from a beautiful girl dressed in a Mahou Shojou outfit. Vale's eyes widened as he identified the familiar white and pink outfit, the twin tails of shiny, black hair, and the magic wand capped with a star. He recognized it because he'd spent many an afternoon after school watching it for close to a decade when he was younger. Vale was about to dash over to her, and if he was totally honest, probably fanboy harder than he had ever fanboy'd before. He was half way through his first step when he heard it. It was small at first like a drop of water from a faucet but it grew in pace ind intensity to a massive thudding sound as Vale just barely managed to get Rias, Akeno, Sona, Vali and Tsubaki out of the way, as a massive blur of purple and white sped past towards the figure in pink.

"OH MY GOODNESS! Mil-tan never thought he'd run into a fellow magical girl here of all places-nyo! I love your costume-nyo!" Mil-tan exclaimed giddily as he skidded to a halt in front of Serafall.

"Wow! You watch Magical Girl, Mil kiss Viral 7, too! Didn't you just love how the last season ended?!" Serafall replied enthusiastically as she clutched her wand to her chest.

"Oh, it made me cry-nyo. I can't believe Sakura-chan died-nyo."

"I know, I almost died when I saw that! The Satan Serafall Leviathan, but you can call me Levi-tan. What's your name?" Serafall said excitedly as she jumped up and down while holding one of Mil-tan's massive hands.

"I'm Mil-tan-nyo. It's nice to meet you Levia-tan." Mil-tan replied enthusiastically. Serafall opened her mouth to reply, but closed it when she caught sight of Sona.

"Sona-chan! Found you." Serafall said as she sprinted over and threw her arms around Sona in a very yuri-esque hug.

"Aah, Serafall you came as well..." Sona said uncomfortably as she blushed while Serafall rubbed her face against her.

"Ah, hello Serafall-sama. It's been a while." Rias asked as she regained her composure and bowed to Serafall.

"Ara Rias-chan, it's been a while how are you?" Serafall asked as she released Sona and turned to face Rias.

"I'm fine, did you also come for Sona's class visit today?"

"Yeah. Sona-chan is really mean. She didn't tell me about today! Geez! Because of the shock, Onee-chan was going to attack Heaven." Serafall responded with a pout. Sona was about to say something when Vale cut in,

"Hello Serafall-dono, I'm Vale Beleth, and I just gotta say, I'm a huge fan." Vale said as he bowed to the Satan.

"It's nice to meet you Vale-chan. Sona's told me so much about you. You're lucky Sirzechs told me how you defended Rias-chan or I would've attacked you in anger for running out of your engagement with So-tan. Good thing I didn't, because it sounds like Rias-chan and So-tan are very attached to you." Serafall replied in an adorable, cutesy tone. Everyone in the hall was silent as they tried to digest this disturbing new piece of info. Until Sona spoke up,

"Serafall, are you all right? Your demonic aura feels a lot weaker than it normally does." She was right Vale noticed, he could definitely feel an aura of demonic power, but it was far lower than what he had always heard people describe Serafall's as. It seemed more like it was another devil's aura but was pretty far away. In fact, now that he was paying attention, he could feel several other auras in the distance,

"Hmm, I'm fine. Azazel-chan was nice enough to loan all the Satans these bracelets to suppress our power so that the humans, wouldn't be able to tell we're Devils." Serafall said as she presented her wrist for inspection. On it, there sat a plain chain bracelet with magic symbols engraved on it.

"Huh, that's odd. I never heard of him inventing anything like that. Have you, Vali?" Vale asked quizzically as he turned to face his Queen.

"No, I haven't." Vali said warily. Just then, Saji called from over by the hallway window,

"Um Kaichou, you might wanna check this out." Saji said uncertainly form the window. Sona headed over to the window, followed closely by Vale and Rias. The arrived just in time to see several arcane magic symbols spreading across the sky, zigging, zagging, and criss-crossing across the sky before resolving themselves into a barrier, the type that kept things in, not out. At the same time, transportation-type magic circles began to spring up all over the campus. There was mayhem everywhere, as hooded figures in magician's robes began to pour out of some of the circles, the rest of them spewed out Devils of varying ages, sizes, and houses . They swept out of the circles like high tide on a beach and wasted no time in hurling fireballs and lightning bolts all over the schoolyard. One of which was headed for the three Kings in the window...

"Get down!" Vali shouted as he tackled Sona and Saji to the ground, while simultaneously Vale grabbed Rias by the collar and hit the deck. Milliseconds later a fireball collided with the window, shattering it and sending flames and debris flying into the hallway with a mighty CRASH and the smell of singed hair,

"Thanks for that Vale, I owe you one." Rias said as she pushed herself to her knees and dusted herself off,

"No problem." Vale said as he fished the oversized tarot card from his pocket and pressed it against his forehead.

"Hey! What gives? This bracelet won't come off!" Serafall exclaimed as she frantically tugged on the bracelet, to no avail. It seemed the bracelet was held on by magic of some sort.

"I knew it, I knew those weren't made by Azazel! Someone must have impersonated them an gave you them as a way to keep the Satans out of the fight." Vali said as he stood up and dusted himself off.

"Right, will do! Alright everyone, Mil-tan, you take Serafall back to Azazel. Get those bracelets off and ask him to begin evacuating people. Fallen Angels have several spell for memory modification so it'll be better if he does it anyway. After that, grab Kanda and go raise some hell! Vali, come with me. We are gonna go confront the mastermind of this attack, my mom saw her appear and we're gonna go back her up." Vale barked curtly as he got up and headed over to the opposite side of the hallway.

"Alrighty, let's do it." Vali said with a fiendish grin as he met Vale over next to the opposite side of the wall,

"Wait, Vale what's going on?" Rias asked as she ran over to meet him as a magic circle began to form underneath him.

"Sorry. Gotta go, stay beautiful." Vale said with a wink as he disappeared into the magic circle.

Vale reappeared moments later inside the gymnasium with Vali. He turned to see his mother standing there, looking quite bored, with a girl with long, white, fin-like ears and long, flowing, green hair and a small green haired doll wielding a large butcher knife standing to either side of her.

"Ah, you're all finally here, now if you'd be so kind. Kindly take care of that pest over there." Evangeline said lazily as she gestured to the other side of the gymnasium. Across the blackened, charred, and scorched gymnasium floor stood a beautiful, well-endowed with tan skin, brown hair, purple eyes, and glasses, wearing a low cut dress. She stood there with a confident smirk on her face,

"Well, if it isn't the renegade traitor and the half-breed. It's a shame no one has killed either of you yet. I guess if you want something done, you have to do it yourself." she said with a lazy sigh. Vale recognized her as Katarea Leviathan, one of the leaders of the Old Satan Faction of the Khaos Brigade. He had met her once, very briefly, it had been one of the worst experiences of his life. The woman was such a stuck up racist, aristocratic bitch it wasn't even funny.

"Skip the Old Satan faction schpeal Katarea, no one gives a damn. You attacked the human world, a school no less. You've gone too far. And you know what?" Vale said as he held up his card and with a flash was surrounded by a double helix of books, each adorned with two seemingly random letters, in his hand instead of the card was held a book mark with a horsehair tassel at the end of it.

"What?" Katarea sneered back at him.

"You all think you're so great because you're related to the original Satans, let's see how you fair against the current ones. Vali, if you'd be so kind. My money is on eight minutes." Vale said knowingly as he glanced over to his Queen while a book labeled SG flew to his hands.

"Way ahead of you. I'm betting six though" Vali said as two dragon wings of cyan light appeared from his back,

"VANISHING DRAGON BALANCE-BREAKER!" the wings called as Vali was covered in a blinding white aura that resolved into a set of gleaming white armor with blue jewels covering his entire body.

"Alright, here's the play. Chachazero harry her like normal during combat. Chachamaru, you and Vali will be responsible for engaging her in melee combat. Now let's do it." Vale said with a grin as he opened the book, inserted the bookmark into it before closing the cover once more and yanking the bookmark out shortly after. There was a blinding light as Vale was surrounded by a swirling column of light. When it dissipated Vali and Katarea were surprised to see the person standing in the column was wearing the same clothes as Vale was when he activated his artifact. Except, he now stood a few inches taller and had long crimson-hair, a handsome face, and blue-green eyes.

"Now, let's begin. Ruin the Extinct!" he exclaimed as countless orbs of the Power of Destruction materialized around him and zoomed toward Katarea, who had conjured a powerful defensive circle in front of her as Vali launched himself at her, visible as only a white streak of light, followed closely by Chachamaru who had activated the thrusters on her back and legs. Chachazero leaped high into the air as she grasped her large butcher knife in both hands and prepared to strike...

Author's Note: WOW, THAT WAS A DOOZY! SEVEN THOUSAND WORDS, THAT'S LIKE TWO CHAPTERS RIGHT THERE! Anyways, here it is. Be warned this'll probably be the only time you see Vale's artifact in action, you will understand why next chapter. Please review, I worked really hard on this chapter and I'd love to hear your feedback. Little side note, after the summit is over updates will slow down a little, as I wanna get back to my old projects, Rise of the Warrior, Death Walks Again, and A Champions's Journey. I'm also working on an Ah! My Goddess! and Star Trek: TNG crossover. Along with a Haruhi Suzumiya and Doctor Who Crossover, so things are gonna be a little slow for a while, though reviews get me inspired and that helps updates, so... yeah... Also, a little gift from me to you(Happy Hannukah/Christmas/Kwanza/Saturnalia or whatever),
