So as it would seem, I will be continuing this story. Had a change of heart so I apologize to anyone that I am upsetting for my going back and forth with these stories of mine, but water under the bridge now.
Dark Descent Ch. 4
"What is he doing?" Asked Ruby, it had been nearly a week since they had gotten the mission to find what was causing the Grimm in the Emerald Forest to act more aggressively. And from what Goodwitch and Ozpin told them, this teenage boy was the source of it.
"I don't know, but should we call one of the teachers, or maybe one of the nurses?" Weiss asked as they were watching the boy who seemed to be sweating and was muttering out broken words every now and then.
But before anyone of them could say something, the sleeping teen slowly raised his hand as if reaching out for something.
They saw this pained expression appear on his face as he broke out in tears.
"He must be having another nightmare." Yang said as moved over to his side and she lowered his hand put it back underneath the blanket that covered him.
Weiss gave the blonde and questioning look, "And how would you know that?"
Yang glanced over at Ruby went unnoticed by all but Blake who saw her partner do this and decided to step in.
"Whatever the reason it's almost time for our next class, we should leave now before we get in trouble for being late again." She said as the others agreed but Weiss gave them this look before following them out of the room.
But while walking out of the room, Yang cast one more look at the sleeping teen. She didn't know why, but there was something about this guy that gave her this strange feeling.
They had told them that he wasn't normal. For some reason the Grimm reacted to him in a way they had never seen before. And that he could be a threat to them all since he attacked them without warning.
But Yang remembers how he protected Ruby from that Death Stalker. If he was a threat then he wouldn't have put himself in harm's way for her.
"Something wrong Yang?"
Yang turned around to see her partner standing there with a look of concern on her face.
"Oh, it's nothing." She quickly closed the door and they continued off to class.
But if she had waited just a few more seconds she would of seen the teens eyes slowly opening up.
It was strange. He couldn't move his arms or his legs. It felt like his entire body was being weighed down by something, but what?
He opened his eyes to find himself standing in what looked to be a room. It was dimly lit but he could make out these scrolls on the walls. The writing on them was blurry and hard to make out but he clearly remember that this room was a scared place from his once families home. He didn't understand why he was here until he heard a voice whisper to him.
"You need to hide in here Emil." He knew that voice, and looking towards it he saw his sister, just as he remembered her.
Her reddish dark hair, her small frame and the most memorable thing, her silver toned eyes that they both shared.
"But why? If they find you then they'll hurt you!" A voice cried out, it seemed different but Emil knew it. It was his very own voice.
And before his eyes a new body appeared, it was his own only he was younger, much younger than he was now. He was still a child.
He watched his sister comfort him before placing her forehead against his own, he recalled this. It was her way of calming him down which seemed to work as he saw his younger self more relaxed but still panicked for some reason.
"Now listen to me Emil no matter what happens this is going to hurt but only for a second, ok." She told him as she took out this knife that looked to be very old and cut the palm of her hand before taking his, and while he was still a child, he trusted her.
She cut his palm as he let out a small cry from the sudden pain just before she locked fingers with his and looked down into his eyes. And Emil couldn't tell if his eyes were playing tricks on him but his sister's eyes were glowing. Then this light slowly flowed from her body and into his own before she let him go.
"No matter what you hear don't leave this room for any reason." She told him before wrapping up his hand but for some reason his younger self started to cry again.
It was feint but he could hear these shouts coming closer as he watched his sister quickly close the door while his younger self tried to open it but it was of no ale.
He placed a hand to his head as he felt something off.
'Why is it I don't remember this? I don't remember any of this happening? Just what is Valentine hiding me from? And what did she do to me?' Emil thought as looked down and saw that he had that a scar exactly where she had cut him in this dream, which meant this really happened. Or was it just his mind playing tricks on him?
But while he was trying to figure things out, he suddenly heard this scream, it was Valentines.
He watched his younger self lose it as he started pounding in the door before in finally pulled back and for a spilt second he saw this dark mist surround his fist before he punched the door blowing it clean off the hinges and opening a path to what he saw.
It was his bastard of a father, only he wasn't alone. There were others, his uncles and aunts. They were standing around someone and for some reason when they turned to see him. Few of them had this look of complete anger on their faces.
When he looked down at himself, he didn't just see himself only it wasn't just himself. There were these tendrils wrapping around his younger self's body almost as if it was coating over him and changing his entire body into something else.
Emil didn't understand what was happening or why he suddenly felt this pain in his chest, but when he looked ahead, just past his so called family he saw what was making his younger self lose it.
There sitting on the floor was his sister Valentine, only her clothes were ripped and dirty and there was blood dripping down her face. But despite that she didn't seem afraid just disappointed.
"I told you not to come no matter what." She said as she was slapped in the head and let out a painful yelp as his younger self and he both glared at the one that struck her.
"Don't touch her!" Both of them shouted as he ran towards his family to stop them but just as he neared them the world around him shattered like glass breaking away what he saw and showing a world that was completely engulfed in darkness.
No it wasn't complete darkness, but it was getting there. Emil watched as the world around him started to slowly be engulfed by this darkness that was surrounding him until it had taken all the light from around him and left him in the dark.
He tried to look around but he couldn't even see his own body at this point, but he could feel something was near. He couldn't see it but he felt something, if was giving him this strange feeling, like this pressure had been put on him and it was getting harder and harder for him to breath as his entire body went cold.
It felt as if he had jumped into a frozen lake and he was losing all his senses as his body was numbing over.
'It's so cold…' He thought as the pressure got so intense that it felt like his head was being split in half.
But just as he felt he was losing himself, something wrapped around his body embracing him.
As he opened his eyes, he noticed a flicker of light in the distance. It wasn't strong enough to cast away the darkness around him but it was like a beacon of hope that he wanted to get to, but it was two far from where he was.
And then, the two arms that were embracing him slowly let him go as he felt them push against his back as his body was floating towards the light.
He turned his head to look behind him at the darkness and he could make out the silhouette of someone, he didn't know why but he felt tears slowly falling off his face as he drifted further and further away from that person.
He saw a smile appear on the persons face as he knew who it was. He stretched his arm out and tried to stop him from moving but he couldn't.
And just as he reached the light, the world around him was engulf by it and he saw her body disappear.
But just before it did, he heard her whisper something to him, something that she had always told him for as long as he could remember.
Opening his eyes, he felt the tears falling off his face as he placed his wrist over them as if to hide that he was crying before he opened his mouth and said.
"I won't cry."
