A/N: Make sure your read chapter 39 first, if you haven't already! I posted these both on the same day!

P.S. After this, there are only 3 more chapters left of part 1!

Chapter 40: The Diaries: Thirteen and Fourteen

Sunflora's "Oh My Gosh" Diary: Legends

Oh my gosh! This is so unbelievable! Today we had so many surprises! First of all, we learned that Mason and Laura are legendary beings known as the Golden Child and the Rainbow Child, and that they—or, rather, their past lives—helped Relatia, the goddess of time and space, bring the Time Gears to our world! Then—oh my gosh!—Relatia herself appeared! As if that wasn't enough of a shock, she then proceeded to tell us that it was the Rainbow Child who first charged the Time Gears!

As soon as she heard that, Laura took Mason and Paula with her to the Eastern—oops! I mean Timeless—Forest so she could do it again. But when they came back a few hours later, Laura was unconscious and had turned back into a treecko! Oh my gosh! Everyone is really worried about her, but Relatia assured us that she would be fine. I hope she's right…

P.S. For a goddess, Relatia is certainly… odd. Also very scary. Just thinking about what she must have done to make Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf that frightened… Eek! It gives me shudders!

Bidoof's "Yup, Yup" Diary: More Than Meets the Eye

Oof… There's a lot more to Laura and Mason than I realized, Diary. It turns out that they're part of a legend about the Time Gears! Golly! I certainly did not expect that. I also did not expect Laura to be the one who charged the Time Gears the first time, but what do you know! It turns out she was! She even did it again today! But… oof… I can't be entirely glad about it, no-siree. You see, Diary, it turns out she sacrificed a lot to do so. She even turned back into a treecko! She's also unconscious again… I hope she wakes up soon.

P.S. There's a lot more to Relatia, the goddess of Time and Space, than I realized, too! Actually, she reminds me a lot of the Guildmaster… serious one moment, and silly the next. Also slightly terrifying… I don't know what she did to the Spirit Trio after hearing what they did to Laura, but based on the way they were acting… gulp! I'm not sure I even want to know…

Sunflora's "Oh My Gosh" Diary: Secret

I don't think I've had a secret this big since we came back from our expedition to Fogbound Lake! It's so big, that I'm even contemplating tearing out the last entry into this diary in order to make sure it stays extra safe. You see, it has to with Laura's role in the Time Gear Legend. Laura finally woke up earlier today… but she can't remember a thing past Relatia showing up in the guild! She has no idea what actually fixed the Time Gears… and Relatia and Mason have forbidden us to tell her!

It's going to be so hard having to lie to her… I'll have to practice. What was it that they told her happened…? I think it was something about hitting her head… Okay! Tomorrow when she wakes up, I'll go ask her, "Laura! How is your head feeling from when it got bashed against that Time Gear?" ...Or, wait, maybe they told her she hit it on the wall…? Eek! This is horrible! If I can't even remember the lie, how am I going to make it believable to Laura?!

Bidoof's "Yup, Yup" Diary: Secret

These next few days are going to be the hardest of my life, I reckon. I've never been good at lying to my friends, but in order to protect Laura… well, I'll just have to learn, yup, yup. You see, Diary, Laura can't remember anything that happened when the Time Gears were fixed, so she has no idea that she's the one who—uh, actually, on second thought, I'd better not finish that sentence… I don't think Laura's the type to sneak peeks at other people's diaries, especially since she used to have one herself, but you never know. …Actually, maybe I should go back and edit the last entry too…

Anyways, Diary, I think I'm going to need some help if I want to learn how to be a good liar. Maybe I could go talk to Sunflora, since she's always been so helpful in the past. Yup, yup! I think I'll go do that now!

P.S. …So it turns out asking Sunflora was a bad idea. Wouldn't you know it, she's having just as much trouble with this as I am! So then I thought about going to ask Croagunk for advice, since he's always so mysterious, but Chimecho told me that amnesia is a real sore subject with him, so I should ask someone else instead. She suggested Mason, since, "He and Relatia came up with the lie in the first place, so he's got to know what he's doing, right?" I reckon she's got a point, there, Diary. I'll ask him tomorrow!
