Moshi Moshi! Ok so I had a really CRAZY New Year's! I had a sleepover with a couple of friends and afterwards I cleaned up. And you know what I did? I cut my hand on a cup and I passed out... Ya... Long story short I got SEVEN stitches on my right hand, with is my dominant hand/hand I write with so it's been uncomfortable to write and type. Plus I've been pretty busy with stuff... and thaaaangs (Walking Dead reference to Rick) so ya. Sorry for not updating for so long. Erase This is on hiatus until my freaking stupid writers block is gone so ya. I got the stitches out so I can type now. I'm coming up with a bit of a backstory to Kadaj and the rest of AVALANCHE that is pretty much my version of the end of Advent Children. Cos I believe that the Remnants deserve a chance at life. ... Ok that sounded a bit cheesy and shit but I don't effing care. So without any further delays... I present to you the next chapter! :) :D

Uniforms, Bomb, and Epic Fails

"Guys! We've got our school uniforms!" I shouted as I closed the front door.

"Finally! That took forever!" Tifa said, coming down the stairs. I wrinkled my nose and shook my head.

"Well actually we were told that we would get them in the second semester," Yuffie said as she opened a box. That was completely true. And it was only January 7th. Thank goodness we got them today and not tomorrow. Jeez that would be hard to explain if we went to school in our everyday clothes.

The next morning I put on my uniform. It consisted of a short navy skirt, a white T-shirt, knee high with socks, black flats, and a yellow scarf thigie. Put the outfit together and it pretty much looked like the Corpse Party uniform. Spooky.

I looked at myself in my bathroom mirror.

"Well... the skirt's a little to short for me but it's the same length as the other girls' skirts," I muttered to myself. I spun around and smiled. I opened my bedroom door just as Kadaj was about to knock. He was standing there with his hand awkwardly raised in other words. The guys' uniforms looked nice. Just a white T-shirt, a black tie, navy pants, and a very pale yellow jacket.

"Hi," he said. I nodded.

"Hi. Nice uniform," I said with a small smile. He cocked his head to the side.

"Thanks. You too," he said. I blushed and he nodded. Just the usual socialization between us. Yeesh.

Right before some major shit hit the fan and all hell broke loose, it was a normal day. We got on the bus, tolerated the bullies (like the Brittany Bitch XD), and suffered through earthquake drills, and classes. In fact, my class was doing chemistry worksheets when the rumbling started. It lasted for a couple of seconds and stopped for a couple seconds before starting again. Greeeeeeeaaat.

"Alright class. Get under your desks," our teacher said calmly. I rose my hand as another big, shake shook the school. It made the lights flicker and shake. I frowned.

"Lyra get under your desk," she said.

"But I don't think this is an earthquake. It doesn't feel right," I said as the light darkened outside. The teacher frowned and frowned and walked over to the windows.

"Oh my... HOLY SHIT!" Seriously if the situation wasn't scary, it would've been funny hearing a teacher swear. Naturally, we all stood up and ran to the windows. And you wanna know what we saw?

...

...

...

...

DeepGround bein' idiots again, that's what we saw. A bunch of freakin' DeepGround planes were dropping bombs everywhere! I mean, COME ON! WHY YOU BE IDIOTS DEEPGROUND?!
Right about then, a big BOOM was heard from the other side of the school. It shook everything so bad that chunks of the ceiling fell around us and the electricity went off. The entire class was thrown to the ground. This amount of shaking reminded me of the giant fighter plane that I was on after I got kidnapped which reminded me of Luke and that made my head hurt more than hitting my head on the metal part of the nearest desk. CONCUSSIONVILLE HERE WE COME!

"Ly come on! We have to find the others!" Yuffie shouted over all the noise as she and Tifa practically dragged me up by the arms and out the door. It was about 2:00 in the afternoon but the smoke and fire from outside was red.

"Ok seriously, the phrase, 'Set the world on fire' is just a saying!" I yelled. We ran through the halls trying to stay upright as DeepGround dropped more bombs. I ran by a window right as a bigger boom shook the school and shattered the windows. We screamed and covered our faces but still continued towards everyone else's classrooms. We turned a corner right as Kadaj and the rest of the guys and Shelke turned the corner.

Translation: Kadaj and I were in front of everyone and just went BAM! and ran into each other.

"SON OF A- EVERY DAMN TIME!" I shouted as everyone started talking at once and were thrown to the floor when another damn shake made us drop the floor. We all jumped to our feet and ran to find an exit that wasn't demolished. Quite a few classes seemed to be outside already.

"Wait! We should check the elementary school. We could check to see if it's fully evacuated," Tifa said. We found and exit and ran out. Kadaj and I were the first ones out and we ran our to the road. There weren't any cars out. Which is strange for this time of day.

Suddenly, there was a screeching of tires and before I could react, Kadaj yelled "Lyra!" and I hit the ground. We sat up and I rubbed the back of my head.

"Seriously people! Watch the head!" I groaned. Kadaj scowled as stood up and brushed off his pants.

"Well would you rather be dead or alive?" He asked as he helped me up. We watched the blue Ford speed off into the smoke as everyone else caught up to us. Another giant boom reminded us of the situation at hand... and it just happened to come from the elementary school.

"Oh crap NO!" I screamed. Ok, so for New Year's, I made a resolution to NOT swear out loud so much... So far I have actually doing pretty damn good. And saying crap and hell and damn don't count as swear words. It says so on the Resolution Sheet on Mrs. Sims fridge. And this happy (sarcasm) situation that's happening really liked testing my willpower. Honestly, I'm about to go on a swearing rampage. Anyway, I just got really off topic.

We ran into one of the closest side entrances as the main entrance was pretty much demolished.

"Ok how about we split up to look for survivors. Meet back at this door when we can't look anymore, right?" I suggested. The rest of AVALANCE shrugged and split up. It was better than nothing I guess. Most of the building was on fire and that was really bringing back some very unpleasant memories.

Kadaj and I were our own group like usual. But we're used to it. It usually ends up like this.

"Mommy! Mommy!"

We stopped running and found the room were the yelling was coming from. A little girl was stuck under her desk in one of the kindergarten classrooms. The room was full of smoke and the ceiling wasn't on the ceiling anymore. Lets just say that the ceiling was on the floor. And on the desk the little girl was under.

"Kadaj-"

"I see her," he interrupted. We ran over and started to take off the boards and sheetrock that had been dropped on her when the giant bomb went off. Honestly, the desk pretty much saved her life. Well, maybe not her left leg. It was pinned under some giant pieces of rubble and looked bloody and broken.

When we got the poor thing out, Cloud and Tifa were yelling for us.

"Hey sweetie, what's your name?" I asked with a smile. She sniffed and rubbed her eye.

"Seiko," she said. "Where's my mommy?"

"You can find your mommy later, ok? Right now, we need to get you out of here," Kadaj said, picking her up.

"What's your last name, Seiko?" I asked as we opened the door... aaaand practically dog-piled Cloud and Tifa.

"Where have you two been? Everyone's already outside!" Teef said. I rose my eyebrows and pointed to Seiko.

"We were-" I started.

"We found a kindergartener pinned under a desk," Kadaj finished.

When we finally got out of the school, a teacher took the kids that the rest of AVALANCHE found and Seiko to an EMT vehicle.

"Ok. Does anyone know what to do next?" Yuffie said as we all stood there awkwardly.

"I say we try to find someplace safe," Cloud said. We all tried to make our way deeper into Midgar- Edge. Emphasis on tried. Seriously. It was pretty bad. At least those Avenger people we met earlier were doing something to help.

"HEY AVALANCHE! GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE!" We looked around until we saw Aphrodite standing by Darius and waving her arms like crazy. We ran over to them. Aphrodite wrinkled her nose.

"Jeez, you guys look like you had a fight with a dust bunny and lost," she said.

"Hahaha so funny I forgot to laugh," Yuffie said, crossing her arms and rolling her eyes.

"Whatever. We found a place to hide and before you guys can argue, Reeve talked to us. He says that DeepGround actually wants you to fight this time and it's kinda why they're acting like idiots. But if I'm right, which FYI I always am-" She said. Ok I've had enough.

"OK! We get it! Just try being useful and get people someplace safe or something! Jeez Louise you're annoying," I yelled. She made a bitchy face at me and led us to the hiding place that was conveniently riiiiiight across the street from the Seventh Heaven. Greeeaaat. We ran into the basement of a building. Underneath that basement was another one filled with bunk beds and food and medical supplies and was really unorganized. Ya let's just say that the citizens of Midgar/ Midgar- Edge had gotten used to the fact that people keep being idiots so we have little hidey-holes littered across town. Sam and Dean Winchester and Helga Sims and Soul and Maka and all those people were already there with our pets and extra supplies.

"Ok, I think we are safe," Cid said. I sighed in relief

"HEAD COUNT!" Dean shouted. Sam got up and counted silently.

"Uh-oh," Sam said. Dean frowned,

"What do you mean 'uh-oh?'" Dean asked.

"Uh-oh as in we-are-one-person-short-uh-oh," Sam said nervously. Oh no.

"Oh shit," Barret said.

"Um Lyra, don't freak out," Yuffie said. Thanks I didn't feel panicky at all until you said that.

"Why would I freak out?" I asked, feeling nervously suspicious. I looked around and everyone was there except... "Oh no," I said as I felt my stomach drop.

"Lyra calm down," someone said. Ohno ohno ohno ohno! I started feeling like I was going to hyperventilate.

This cannot be happening!

"Where-where's Kadaj?" I asked in a shaky voice.

"I swear the kid was right behind us," Cid said, looking around. Maka smiled.

"Lyra, he's probably upstairs. We got lost on our way down here. Maybe he did, too," she said nicely. Black*Star scoffed in his arrogant way.

"No he isn't. I would have been able to sense his soul with my awesome meister powers of awesomeness," he said. I felt sick.

"Oh no," I squeaked as I started hyperventilating a little bit.

"Thanks Black*Star. That helped out sooo much," Yazoo said sarcastically, rolling his eyes.

"Lyra calm down-" Cloud tried to say.

"Don't you f*cking try to tell me to calm down," I said through my teeth. Oh great now I'm going a little bit demon.

"Lyra! Language!" Tifa scolded. I got reaaally angry then.

"WHY THE EFFING HELL AREN'T WE FINDING HIM?!" I screeched.

"We'll find Kadaj when this is over. It's too dangerous to go now," Yazoo said.

"He could be dead by then! Don't you care?! He's your F*CKINGN BROTHER!" I screamed, making the lights flicker. Well there goes my New Year's Resolution.

Yazoo put his hands up like he was surrendering.

"No I care. It's just that-" Yazoo tried.

"IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT, YOU SARCASTIC ASSHOLE!" I screamed. "I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE DYING ON ME!"

I turned around and ran to the door through the basement, up some stairs, and into the hell outside. Really I had no idea where to look first and I am really fed up with people dying on me or dying for me and shit. UGH!

"Kadaj," I yelled as I ran up the street. A bomb hit a building behind me and I tripped. I jumped right up and continued running and screaming his name. Then I got a brilliant idea that made me feel stupid immediately.

What if Kadaj went to the Seventh Heaven instead?

I doubled back right as the Seventh Heaven burst into flames.

"NO!" I screamed and ran as fast as I could to the front door. I ignored the burning on my hand as I yanked it open. I covered my head as flames and smoke rushed out above me.

"Kadaj?" I called as I ran into find him.

I ran into the archway that led into the living room from the barroom and you know what? THE DAMN CIELING COLLAPSED ON TOP OF ME!

I cried out as something sharp sliced the scar on my back in the exact shape of the it. Yip. Ee. Fun times. Ya. NO.

I tried pushing the burning wood off of me but it pushed me back down.

"No please," I whimpered. I hadn't caught fire yet but I would if I didn't get out now! I started coughing from all the damn smoke inhalation from throughout the day as I continued trying to escape.

Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no...

I'm gonna die.

I gave up and closed my eyes. Well then. This is going to be a painful death. But at least it's better that some other DeepGround nasty killing me. Besides, in about 20 minutes after I die, I come back. Just on of the perks of being a Time Lord... and an angel... and a demon... and Sayion. Basically, Hybrids are immortal and hard to kill. But thinking this really doesn't make me feel any better.

But it's all true.

I started crying but my tears were evaporated from the heat. I was about to panic some more when I thought I heard a voice. WAIT WHAT?!

I stayed as quiet and as still as I could and listened.

"Lyra!" I could hear the voice clearer now. I coughed.

"Help," I tried yelling.

Kadaj smiled when he ran in through the other doorway.

THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE OK-wait is that blood?!

He dug me out. "Ly what were you doing-" he started. I threw my arms around him and started crying.

"You damn idiot! where the hell were you?!" I sobbed.

"Uhm... I got lost and when I tried finding you guys, I got stopped by Rosso. I knocked her out but she scratched me with this board. It had a nail on it," he said. He helped me up and put a hand on my back.

"AGH!" I fell back down and Kadaj jumped back.

"Are you ok?" He asked. I gave him a thumbs and smiled.

"I'm fine," I said trying not to cough. He rolled his eyes and helped me up again.

"Whatever. Let's get out of here," Kadaj said.

The next thing I know we're being brought inside by a screaming Dean.

"You idiot! Are you insane?! Wait, no don't answer that. You almost got killed! You almost got this entire group killed! You can't just run out there without a plan and expect everyone to be ok and live!" Dean yelled. He yelled so loud that he turned red. I rolled my eyes as Kadaj and Tifa made me sit down.

"Isn't that exactly what you and Sam do? Run out there without a plan and expect everyone to be ok?" I asked. Dean stammered a bit.

"Well... that's different," he finally got out. Kadaj's eyebrows rose... at least I think they did. Everyone was covered in soot and ash.

"Well she's got a point. I've been hunting with you two and it's exactly what you do," Kadaj said. I looked up at him. He had a scratch on his left cheek that was bleeding like crazy. Ok why wasn't he taking care of that? And why do I have to be given First-Aid?!

"The only thing that went wrong is that Bug hurt her back," he was saying. Everyone looked at me. Oh thanks. Just... GAHHHHH!

"Lemme see your back," Stevie Rae said. I stood up and backed away.

"No," I said, sounding like a two-year-old.

"Lyra, she's a healer. Let her see," Yuffie said. I shook my head and stomped my foot.

"No!"

Tifa rolled her eyes.

"It doesn't even hurt that much anyway," I said.

"Lyra, please-," Tifa said as Kadaj tapped the back of my left shoulder.

"AGHH!" I fell down and tried not to cry. I heard people sigh and facepalm.

"OK. You got me," I said in a shaky voice. Yuffie handed Stevie Rae some Cure Materia and Stevie Rae quick used it.

"There. You see? That wasn't so bad now wasn't it?" She said with a smile. I rolled my eyes. Reno snickered.

"That's just priceless. First Dean and then Lyra proven wrong! Just priceless!" He laughed.

"Oh shut it," I snapped. Yuffie smacked him on the back of the head.

...-...

"Ugh! I need a shower!" Aphrodite whined as everyone wiped themselves off with Wet Wipes. No one looked like themselves until they wiped off their faces at least. Yucky.

I looked around as everyone went to different rooms and started organizing. Sometimes the ceiling would shake. I guess DeepGround was still dropping bombs. I sighed. I had some shit to do.

I walked up to Yazoo and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Um Yazoo? I'm sorry for calling you a sarcastic asshole earlier. I was kinda sorta maybe freaking out a little bit," I said, looking at the ground.

He was quiet for a minute or two. And then he started laughing! Like WTF?!

"Um are you ok?" I asked. He nodded.

"Ya. It's just that Kadaj was kind of acting like that when you got kidnapped and you were all panicked and scared that he was going to die and it was the same then..." He trailed off and laughed some more. I turned red.

"Heh heh heh ya that's really funny," I said as I backed up a little.

After awhile we sorted through the rooms and made them somewhat neat. Kadaj and I were in one room when I noticed that his arm was hurt. He could hardly pick up a bod it hurt so bad.

"Hey what's up with you're arm?" I asked. He looked at it and shrugged.

"I ran into Rosso, remember?" He said. He went back to trying to move the box. I nodded but still walked over.

"Ok so I'm not the best Healer, but I think I can somewhat fix it up," I offered. He sat the box down and nodded. He sat down on some boxes and I poked the shoulder of his right arm. He winced.

"Sorry," I mumbled. His right arm sleeve was soaked with blood. Oh boy...

I blushed when I realized what had to happen.

"What?" Kadaj asked. Oh great. Well isn't this just fine and dandy! :O

"Y-you need to... take off your shirt," I stammered. I looked at the ground as we both turned bright red.

"I'll... I'll be right back," I said as I speed-walked to the other room to get a First-Aid kit. I walked back in and his damn school shirt was off. Basically, I stopped blushing when I left the room but started blushing again when I entered the room. And saw him shirtless. Ooooooooooooooooooooooooookaaaaaayyy...

I forced myself to walk forward and look at the cut- oh please don't make me throw up... The cut on his right bicep was in a spiral-shape. It looked pretty deep and was extremely bloody... And KEEP OFF THE BARFMOBILE! Oh boy...

"That looks like it hurts," I squeaked. I tried not to stare at him as I looked at his cut. Oh boy this is really awkward...

"Are you ok, Ly?" Kadaj asked.

"W-what?" I looked up at him as I got out gauze and peroxide.

"You look a bit pale," he said. YA NO SHIT. I jerked a shrug out.

"Blood makes me dizzy," I said. And apparently you do, too.

I poured some peroxide on a piece of gauze. Oh this is gonna suck...

"Sorry," I said before putting it on his cut.

"HOLY SHIT!" He yelled. He surprised me so much that I fell back.

"I said sorry!" I hissed.

"It hurts like hell!" He said back looking at his arm. I rolled my arms and smiled.

"Oh, don't be a baby," I said as I got up. I quick cleaned up his but and bandaged it.

"Hey your hand's red," Kadaj mumbled. He grabbed my right hand before I could back away and turned it over to look at the palm. I kinda forgot that it hurt until he mentioned it. I shrugged and tried tugging it away.

"It's fine," I lied. He game me a look that told me he didn't believe me and looked through the First-Aid kit. He fixed my hand and I remembered something.

"While we're at it, your cheek has been bleeding and it's bugging me," I said. I got out a piece of gauze and put a Band-Aid on the back. Since there wasn't any space to stand in front of him, or of the left side, I had to lean over him. Bad idea. That was just awkward.

"Here. This might be easier," he half-joked and scooted me over to sit on his lap. WHOA WAIT WHAAAAT?! Well actually it is a little easier.

"Um...?" I put the gauze and Band-Aid on his cheek. It fell off a couple times but I got it on. I smoothed it out on him and smiled.

"There," I mumbled. I realized that our faces were inches apart. And then he kissed me. That really surprised me. What surprised me even more was that I actually kissed back...

...

...

...

...

...

HOLY F*CKING SHIT!

I realized what I was doing and pulled away. My arms were around his neck.

...

...

...

I blinked a couple times. He smiled a little.

"Oh my goshness," I squeaked. I jumped down and ran out.

...

...

...

...

I don't think I should have left the room actually...

...

...

...

...

..

OH

MY

GOSH.
