Jeremy whistled to himself, silently rubbing in the fact that he was closer to winning in Chad's face. His friend sat on the sofa trying to ignore him by busying himself with his phone, but it was proving to be difficult. The taller was in the kitchen preparing chicken parmesan when he asked,
"So Chad, how's it feel to know that you'll be paying my phone bill soon?" Chad rolled his eyes and smirked,
"A little overly confident aren't you? The game has literally just begun, for all you know I'm going to win." Jeremy snorted, spreading enough tomato sauce to thickly coat the bottom of the casserole pan and retorted,
"I'll have you know that our date went perfectly. She's definitely going to ask me out again," At least Jeremy hoped so, the chick was hot and not a total loser, plus by the end of this he could gain a girlfriend and free phone use. Not that he really wanted a serious relationship, that wasn't his thing, all he really wanted in life was success. Why else did he spend so many years on a computer?
"That doesn't mean anything, especially if she one of those girls. There's a good chance she just playing with you." Chad smiled to himself, leaning back and pretending to entertain himself with Tumblr. He knew that if he could get Jeremy freaked out enough he would flip out, start trying to hard, and then Lacy would be his. The thing with Jeremy was he hated to lose anything, he'd probably do anything to win and lets be honest; most girls hate that. Jeremy scowled,
"I already know her better than you, and she's a total innocent. If anything that just makes things easier for me. And besides, I doubt she likes short guys." Chad had to hold back his laughter, he knew that he was getting under Jeremy's skin.
"Doesn't matter," He stated, eyes going back on his phone screen, "I have a plan." Chad didn't hear what Jeremy said as he slid the pan into the oven, he was too pleased with his evil mind.
High Five Ghost tossed the heavy trash bag into the dumpster that sat behind the snack bar. He, like most of the other park employees, hated worked the snack bar; but unfortunately it was his and Muscle Man's turn today. On the bright side it was almost closing time, only thirty more minutes. When he was about to float back around he was suddenly cornered by a certain egotistical raccoon.
"Dude! I just had the perfect idea!" HFG groaned inwardly, he was the happiest with Rigby right now, and whenever the latter got an idea it usually ended horribly- which is probably why the park had so many problems.
"I don't want to hear it Rigby," He went around him, but as accustomed the raccoon persisted on,
"Come on man! Look, I'm sorry about what I said to Lacy. But I know how to fix it! It works out in both of your favors!" High Five hesitated for a moment; was he seriously considering this? He sighed, might as well hear him out,
"You got three minutes." Rigby fist pumped,
"Awesome! Ok, so everyone knows how bad you got it for Lacy-"
"I do not!" High Five defended. Rigby surveyed him flatly and HFG grimaced,
"Is it that obvious?" Rigby nodded,
"Very. To everyone actually, well except Lacy herself because she's just that naïve." High Five huffed,
"It's not like it matters," He said, "it's not like she feels the same anyway." Rigby groaned ,
"You two are exactly alike. Dude, she does like you! You just never noticed it!" If High Five could blush, he would've; Lacy liked him? She actually liked him? How is that even possible? Then again he was talking to Rigby, this could be a dumb prank. He looked at the raccoon dubiously,
"Rigby, are you serious? Because if this is a prank-" Rigby threw his arms in the air,
"I'm not kidding around! I promise!" Ok, High Five believed him, but why was he so interested in his and Lacy's relationship all of a sudden?
"Why does it even matter to you?" Rigby rolled his eyes and snickered,
"Because, man, you two are quickly becoming the new Margret and Mordecai. And lord forbid we have another pair of them." HFG opened his mouth then shut it, he knew Rigby was probably right, and having to watch Mordecai and Margret interact was painful. He sighed, unsure of what to say or do. On one side he was extremely happy that Lacy felt the same way, but on the other he was still having a hard time trusting Rigby. Rigby could sense this,
"Look, I get that I'm an untrustworthy guy, but even I wouldn't go as far as to mess with someone's relationship. You can either trust me on this, or forever be friend-zoned." High Five thought for another moment,
"Alright," He agreed. He really hoped that he didn't just get himself into awful situation.
Lacy woke up the next morning feeling somewhat better, at least she didn't have a nightmare this time. She sat up in bed and stretched her arms above her head feeling her muscles loosen up slightly. She gently swung her legs over the side of the bed and sat there a moment before picking up her phone. She was surprised she had a message on there from an unknown number. It said: 'Hey this is probably really awkward but it's Chad and I kind of wanted us to hang out sometime, so I got your number of Jeremy's phone. Feel free to call or text me back anytime' At the very end was a emoticon smiley face. Lacy wasn't sure if she should be flattered or creeped out. She decided that latter. Sitting her phone down she thought for a moment. It seemed like Chad really wanted to meet her, was he interested? That could actually make this whole thing easier, but she didn't necessarily wanted to break it off with Jeremy. That could make her look bad.
As she sat there contemplating on what to do an idea popped into her head. People are devastated when they get cheated on, heart broken even. That could play very well into her favor. The problem was though, Chad and Jeremy were friends, roommates, and if she didn't do this very carefully it come out that she was playing both of them to early and they could turn against her. But wouldn't Chad know she was seeing Jeremy all ready? After all, they were friends. Could it be that he didn't care? Ugh she hated backstabbing friends, but then again look at what she was thinking.
She bit her lip, then smirked as her little dirty plan fell into place
A/N: Seems like everyone has an evil plan lately...yay for evilness!
