(A/N: Well this was started right after the posting of chapter 8)
Link's PoV:
I was having a vision dream again, I was looking through someponys' eyes, the pony was running through the streets of some rainy town at the middle of the night, and was running towards a store of some kind.
And when the pony walked in the store the pony, whose fore arms looked like a mares legs, so I assume it was a mare, and she looked through all the various relics, and trinkets, so when an earth pony said "May I help you traveler? Hmm, something drew you to my store. Something powerful," The Pony I was looking through pointed at some sort of Amulet. The Earth pony said "Ah, you have a keen eye. The Alicorn Amulet is the most powerful and mysterious of known magical charms," The pony I was looking through pointed at it again and he said "I am afraid this is far too dangerous." The pony a bag of gold coins and the earth pony said "Would you like that gift wrapped?" the mare walked up to the amulet and smiled evilly at it.
I woke from my vision/dream with a cold sweat as I always do. Rainbow dash was sleeping next to me snoring really, and I mean really loudly. But to not disturb her, I got up as quietly as I could and went to go see what Fluttershy was doing. And it turns out that she and Twilight were getting ready for something, but when I got there, I heard Fluttershy talking to her animals, and then suddenly turned on Twilight and said "If anything happens to them Twilight, so help me!" she glared at Twilight. Spike pushed them apart, and said "Don't worry Fluttershy, Twilights magic has gotten a lot better since she accidentally crush me and Applejack with a giant snow ball." At this, Twilight blushed. "Of course she's good with magic," Said Fluttershy, "Twilights great with magic. I guess I just don't want my friends to be scared. Oh, oh, look how scared they are." And she started sweating bullets.
Though her animal friends were excited for what was about to come. "I promise Fluttershy, nothing bad will happen to them." Said Twilight, "I know," came the terrified whisper from Fluttershy.
"What's going on here?" I asked them, accidentally scaring them. "Well, I was going to practice my magic for entertaining some guests from Saddle Arabia," answered Twilight. I nodded, "Well," I said with a grin. "Let's get this show on the road!" A little bit after Twilight nodded, her magical glow encompassed the animals Fluttershy with a terrified yell said, "Stop! They can't take it!" though, they still looked excited for the upcoming fun.
After looking at Fluttershy worried, Twilight started lifting the animals and making interesting 'shapes' with the animals. And the terrified Fluttershy was biting her hooves off with fear. Spike complimented her and said "Twilight, this looks amazing!" after a couple minutes Twilight's horn stopped glowing so much and the animals slowly descended towards the ground.
They all gathered around twilight and started cheering. "That's all for now little ones," said Twilight "Maybe we can practice again later if Fluttershy says it's alright." Twilight said as she looked at the cowering form of Fluttershy, then the animals went to cheer Fluttershy to goad her into letting them practice later on. "Your magic has really improved since we came to Ponyville Twilight! Princess Celestia's gonna love it!" said Spike "Thank you Spike. I have to be my best when she arrives with the delegates from Saddle Arabia." Thanked Twilight, "Yes, I agree with spike, good tricks you have there." I said "Yeah, I can't believe she's trusting me with the entertainment." Said Twilight before getting rammed by Rainbow, "Quick Twilight, come it's an emergency!" Yelled Rainbow before dragging Twilight towards town, "I guess I'll go to!" Yelled at them,
We arrived at town a few minutes later. There was a large number of ponies standing around the town hall. Then I noticed a pony standing in the middle with the Alicorn Amulet from my dream.
Twilight's PoV:
As I was looking at the scene before me, I felt somepony tap me, I turned my head to see link. "What?" I asked him "I've seen that amulet before, I just had a dream this morning actually about somepony buying it, I think that's her." He told me, "Do you know what it's called?" I asked when I heard a zap from the familiar Pony, he nodded, "It's called the Alicorn Amulet." He said before Rarity said "This shade of brown should only be used by accents!" before fainting and being caught by Applejack and Pinkie Saying "come on Applejack! We need to get her in a nice soothing pink! Stat!" I walked up followed by Link and Rainbow and asked "What's going on here?"
That's when I heard an all too familiar voice say "Well, well, well, if it isn't Twilight Sparkle!" said Trixie as she took off her hood. I gasped "Trixie," I said angrily "What's she doing here?" asked an irritated Spike. I heard a Rainbow Dash ask "You call that great and powerful?" before she got hit by a ray and had disproportionate wings, one was two to three times her size, the other was normal sized. Only for a second beam, this time green hit her and her wings were back to normal, I turned and looked shocked at a mad Link. after Trixie looked at link, she looked back at me and said "We have some unfinished business you and I, my magic has improved since the last time I was here, and I'm gonna prove it. Me and you, a magic duel, winner stays, the loser is banished from Ponyville forever!" "Forget it! I would never make a deal like that." I said "Hmm, your choice." She said and turned spike into a ball while he yelled in distress, and bounced him next to me "Trixie, put him down!" I said she then bounced him away from me and mad a barrel without a bottom appear, and put him through it. "Why are you doing this?" I asked with anger in my voice. "Why?" she asked just as angry as I was "Because you humiliated me!" She created a screen of some kind to show what she was talking about, "After that case you showed me up with the Ursa Minor, I became a laughing Stock. Everywhere I went I was laughed at and ostracized. I even had to take a job on a rock farm just to earn a living! A rock farm!" she yelled the last bit. And Pinkie yelled "Hey! You're lucky a rock farm would takes the likes of you!" after that, a red arrow pulled off her mouth and put it in a trash can of some kind. But soon after, the trash can returned, this time with a green glow and a green arrow pulled her mouth out and put it on her.
Trixie Glared at Link before looking at me and said, "And I'll keep casting spells till you agree." She then picked up my library, and started pouring out the books. But they were all caught by a green light and then were heading back to the now righted Library. She turned to link and fired a beam, angered that every time she tried something, he corrected it, his eyes widened for a split second before he took a stance and shot a green beam that completely destroyed her red beam.
"Stop interfering! This has nothing to do with you!" She yelled at him, he looked taken back by her orders but nodded. "I won't interfere, but, if you do anything that directly affects me or my friends, so help me, you will face a fate worse than Gannon's!" said Link as he turned around and he said "If you two decide to duel, so be it, I won't interfere, I will leave it to you two to fight." I turned to Trixie as she said "Draw!" and shot a beam at a cart and it flew and the ponies it was going to hit all ran, but one that tripped and waited for an end, but I caught it all right before it crushed her and set it down, I looked over in time to see her fling pie at me, I thought for a second and summoned a parisprite to eat the pies, after it ate all six pies, it barfed out a child, I quickly sent them back to where I got them from. This time a shadow enveloped the area, and I looked up and there was a lot of snow I barely registered this before I was buried, I melted the snow and fired my own beam at her, and she grew a mustache, she cut it off soon afterwards and the she said "Snips! Snails! Step forward." "Yes, oh great and powerful Trixie," she then fired a red beam at them, and they floated and were enveloped in a red swirl and when it dropped them one was but an infant, the other was an old stallion, with a graying mane. "An age spell? But… how could you do an age spell, that's only for the highest level unicorns?" she cheekily rubbed… her… amulet… and she asked "What's wrong Twilight? Give up?" I shook my head and tried to perform the spell but… I failed.
Trixie had won.
I… was… no, come on, she could have actual- "Trixie is the Highest Level Unicorn!" she bragged. She laughed and said "Now it's time for you to leave Ponyville FOREVER!" as she said that, her eyes turned red. My friends got in front of me and Applejack said "That's enough!" and Rarity continued and said "That's enough, you've proven your point, but you can't possibly expect Twilight to leave Ponyville." "You fools, she's already gone." Said Trixie. She grabbed me and through me towards the Everfree Forest. When Trixie's magic let go of me, I bounced on the ground for a little bit, and when I turned around, a large glass fish-like container went down around Ponyville. They got to the edge just a second to late, "It's alright, I'll figure something out, just… keep an eye on Trixie, something's strange about her."
Link's PoV:
Just as Twilight was galloping off Spike murmured sadly and said "Twilight?" I put a hoof on his shoulder and said "Do you want to get out?" he looked at me shocked but then nodded his head, I nodded back and said "But we have to wait till the time is right." He seemed sad but nodded.
Twilight's PoV:
I was standing at the edge of the forest and was focusing on a flower trying to think of it turning into a bud, and it did for a second, and I gasped but then it turned back and I had a restrained yell. "It's impossible, how does Trixie know such advanced spells? And without Spike, I can't get a letter to the Princess in Saddle Arabia, who else do I know who knows about strange and powerful magic?" I asked myself, and then thought of Zecora and walked towards her house within the ever free
~~Zecora's Hut~~
"Your tale of woe, upsets me so. No wonder your dower, it's an abuse of power." Said Zecora, "I don't know what to do Zecora. I feel like I've abandoned my friends. But I can't take her on horn to horn." I told her. "If you train with me, so good you'll be. I'll show you the way, to make sure she won't stay." Said Zecora. "You'll train me in magic? But she was doing Age spells, Weather spells, you name it." I said, spilling her tea. "If it come to magic, it would be tragic, if somepony could lick me, especially Trixie." Said Zecora in her usual Rhyme. "You really think I can beat her?" I asked "Mhh." Came from Zecora, "Okay, when do we start?" I asked spilling her new cup of tea again accidentally. I gave her a bashful grin.
Link's PoV:
We were in the town hall with Trixie lording over us, I wanted so bad to just go over to her and decapitate her, but I was restraining myself.
Rainbow and Fluttershy were putting up a banner of Trixie. "You two, Hurry it up with my thrown!" She yelled at the cakes, I was absolutely boiling. She turned on Applejack and said. "And you, how long do I have to wait for my apple sauce facial?" Trixie asked "Forget it Trixie! I ain't doing nothing till you let Twilight come home." I was about to agree, but had to look away and slow my breathing to control my temper, all I saw was the red surround her and she… started laughing?
I turned around to see her getting tickled "Okay, okay, I'll do it, just make it stop, woo." When Trixie stopped tickling her, she launched her at some barrels. "And you! I thought I told you to dance!" and with that, Trixie Took hold of Pinkie and forced her to dance.
Fluttershy and Rainbow picked up another banner, as Rarity started another one and said, "Trixie's magic is ruining Ponyville! Ow!" right after she poked herself with a needle. "Oh. Somepony has to help us!" Rarity whined
Twilight's PoV:
I was standing on water focusing on the balls of water in the air that I was making float. "No noise, no sound, no din, no fuss, must interfere with your focus. Unlearn what you have learned, only then can victory be earned."
My mind started to slip "Trixie is the highest level unicorn! Mwhahaha!" I looked up and lost all focus, the water balls fell, and I fell through the water. "There is much, much that I can teach, but the answer you need may still be out of reach." Said Zecora "Sorry Zecora, I'm Trying my best, it's just that I can't stop thinking about Trixie." I apologized to her. "There was something different about her, she's gone from High and Mighty, to mean and nasty." "You're thinking needs a readjust, total concentration is a must." Said Zecora before walking off, leaving me alone in the pond.
Link's PoV:
We were sitting in the Library, looking for a book on the Alicorn Amulet. Spike looked out the window, and then he walked back to our group that was looking through the magic books. "Uh, this really doesn't seem to be getting us anywhere." Said Rarity, "You're right, I can't find anything." Agreed Pinkie 'I hear ya'h Pinkie, I can't find anything about the magic Trixie's using." Said Applejack "Well," I said "We can narrow it down to Amulets, or something called the Alicorn Amulet to be specific." Spike nodded and said "Well, There's gotta be something, Twilight has every book on magic." A little bit afterwards Fluttershy Found it, so I brought it to the others attention. "Guys, Fluttershy found the book with the Amulet."
"Well whoever wears the Amulet is blessed with untold power," Started Spike, "Even though it provides great power, it also corrupts the user." Continued Rarity, "But you can't just take it off her neck, it has a magical lock, so Trixie is the only one that can take it off." Finished Spike, "We need to get this information to Twilight she'll know what to do." Said Applejack "But if any of use try to get out, Trixie's Magical Force field will tell her." Argued Rarity, "I got it!" yelled Rainbow dash as she "Trying to sneak passed the magic Force field will be impossible without help. But I know who's got the goods to get into those woods. Fluttershy!" "What!" yelled Fluttershy all scared. "What do you say Fluttershy, you up for the task?" asked Applejack.
"No!" 'yelled' Fluttershy. "Umm, guys?" I asked to get their attention. They looked at me, I turned into a wolf, "We can all go, I can just, I don't know, dig under the force field. Though, we need a distraction, maybe some sort of animal, trying to get, that should distract Trixie for long enough." We all looked at Fluttershy to get her to send some animals to distract her. She still looked scared, but then nodded and sighed, "Alright." So we decided to send Beavers with a log to one end of the Force Field, and we would go out the other. "And I know the right design for some dangerous mission outfits." Said Rarity
~~The Next Day~~
I turned into a Wolf and dug as fast as I could and got to the other side just as a red glow over took the force field, and it shifted slightly, I said "Now's your chance!" and they came through wearing their various costumes, though, I think they had to Blackmail her into wearing hers. "Now, where would Twilight most likely be?" I asked them. They thought for a second and Applejack said "Zecora's!" I looked at Applejack oddly for a second but nodded and asked "And where's that?" Pinkie answered by saying. "The Everfree Forest,"
We started walking towards the forest and set way for Zecora's place
~~Zecora's Hut~~
"I can't believe I forgot what the Amulet did to its user!" said a frustrated Twilight. "I told you what it was, you should have rethought the duel." I told her. She glared at me for a second, "Well, I don't know how I'm going to be able to beat Trixie, my magic isn't good enough." Said Twilight "Twilight Sparkle, much work have you done, you learned all of my lesson's all, but one. If Trixie's tricks have you in a fix, you must mix your magic and use the six." Said Zecora, "Mix your magic and use the six, mix your magic and use the six." Murmured Twilight. "Mix your magic and use the six! That's it! Zecora, you're a Guinness!" praised Twilight, and looked at us, "okay, here's the plan." Said Twilight.
Twilight's PoV:
~~Outside the force Field~~
Me and Zecora were standing outside of the boarder hitting hit every now and again "-or the Great and Powerful Trixie will-! You! What's the matter Twilight Sparkle? Not enjoying your exile?" asked Trixie cockily. "I know about the Alicorn Amulet, I know you Cheated!" I told her "Cheated? Mwah?" she asked as she faked innocents "Yeah, and I thought you might want to know what a Real Amulet looked like. Zecora gave it to me, it's from beyond the Everfree Forest. And it's way more powerful than that measly little Alicorn Amulet of yours." I lied to her no problem, good thing I wasn't Applejack. "Ha!" she scoffed. "Nothing's more powerful than the Alicorn Amulet, and nopony is more powerful, then the Great and Powerful Trixie!" She boasted, so I had no problem giving her this next bit of bait. "Care to put your amulet where your mouth is? How about another duel," "Why should I? I already beat you." She bragged at me "That's up to you," I guided her "But I guess you'll never see the totally awesome magic from beyond the Everfree Forest." I continued to guide her and started to slowly walk back towards the Everfree, "Come on Zecora!" I said just to push her over the edge.
"Wait!" yelled Trixie, so I stopped and turned around in time to see her teleport to me and say "Okay, okay, you're on!" she said "A second duel,"
~~In front of town hall~~
It was gray and depressing, Trixie banners all over and Mayor Mare was in a bird cage, as I stepped forward, so did Trixie followed closely by Snips and Snails.
I took my pose ready for the great trick about to take place. "Let's start with simple age spell shall we?" she asked "Let's." I responded. "Snips! Snails!" yelled Trixie, they came up and Trixie shot them with a red beam and a red swirl circled them and dropped them and they were both month old colts. "An oldie, but a goodie. Now, let's see what your charm can do." She said. "No problem." I said. "Applejack, Rarity, can you help me please?" I asked them, and the feigned surprise. And walked up with fake caution, Trixie gave an exasperated movement.
I took a stance and shot at my friends a smoke screen. And they used this to switch place with their younger siblings. But they made it appear as if they themselves had been transformed from an adult to a filly. Trixie looked over shocked but said "oh, ho hum, so you can do an age spell, big deal." I shot multiple smoke screens letting them change and turn, making it look like I was doing it. "That's, that's impossible!" Exclaimed Trixie. "That's nothing," I said as I turned to look at Rainbow dash, and shot a screen, Rainbow made what looked like was an attempt to block, but then she looked up and Fluttershy disguised as Rainbow, made the act of Rainbow. "Hey!" said Rainbow in fake shock.
But did the act of starting to like this clone, "How did you-" started Trixie "Duplication spell," I cut her off, "Ever see one pony play ten instruments?" I asked and didn't give her time to answer before firing a smoke screen at Pinkie and let her play her 'one pony band' instrument device. And Pinkie was getting close to the shell shocked Trixie, forcing her towards the ground. "This… this can't be!" exclaimed Trixie, but I then said "Ooh, two more. I can turn a mare into a stallion, and a pony into a beast." And I looked at Applejack and she feigned terror and 'tried' to bolt away, but I shot my smoke screen and after it cleared it showed big mac in Applejacks place "Eeyup." Said Big mac in a semi girly voice. And then I shot the screen again and a, slightly dizzy looking Applejack stood back in her place.
I then looked at Link and shot him with a smoke screen, and when it cleared it showed him in his wolf form and the ponies nearest to him started quivering. "Well Trixie, it looks like my Amulet is more powerful than your! Hey! Give it back!" I yelled at her. "With this Amulet, I shall now rule all of Equestria!" yelled Trixie and took off the Alicorn Amulet, and put in its place, Zecora's Door stopper. "Witness my subjects, gaze upon an ever greater and powerfuller Trixie!" said Trixie. Rainbow then dashed down and away the Alicorn Amulet "Hey!" then she scoffed, "I don't need that old Alicorn Amulet, I have this." She boasted showing off her Door stopper. She then tried to shoot some kind of lighting at Rainbow "Ha-has! Stop it! That tickles!" laughed Rainbow Dash "Tickles?" asked a confused Trixie "That was supposed to make you writhe in agony; this Amulet is defective give mine back!" said Trixie angry about the Amulet "Sorry, but this is going back into hiding where it belongs." Said Rainbow, "By the way Trixie, the amulet around your neck? Is one Zecora's door stoppers." I told her, "But how did you do those spells, nopony can do those spells!" asked a confused Trixie "Your right. Not even me. Zecora taught me so much about magic while I was in exile, she even taught me when not to use it. My magic alone wasn't enough to take the Alicorn Amulet head to head, so I needed to use a different kind of magic. The magic of Friendship. I also knew the only pony who could take the amulet off your neck was you." I told her "What about the pony with the ten Instruments?" she asked me "oh, that isn't magic, it's just Pinkie Pie." I told her as pinkie started playing polka music. The towns' people started cheering Pinkie Pie on, and Trixie awkwardly left.
~~At the Magic Show~~
I was moving the animals in the air and when I came to the Fireworks went off, I looked down to see Trixie, "Trixie?" I asked her "It's the least I could do. I treated you and your friends so horribly when I was wearing that Alicorn Amulet. I just couldn't control myself. You can forgive me, can't you?" she asked pouting at me. I pretended to think it over "Hmm… Sure." I said with a smile, "Oh, good." Said Trixie "Don't you think the Great and Apologetic Trixie is the most magnificent humble pony you've ever seen?" she asked playfully. I rolled my eyes and shook my head at her, afterwards she ran off.
