CHAPTER 34 - SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT DAY 1
Mission Log Day 1 - The first day did not go as well as I'd hoped though I did discover why the Rangers seem to avoid most Earth beverages and drink those fruit smooths exclusively. With the other beverages these human ingest, I've learned one must take great care with the substance you accept from them.
We might need a new location tomorrow.

Scorpina entered the arena for some sort of sporting event all the local teenagers were gathering to watch. For the first half hour, she wondered in silence, simply taking in the different interactions among the gathering. Very few seemed to actually be paying much attention to the event.
After awhile, a group of girls standing near a concession stand saw her. One of them smiled and asked, "Hey, you new here?"
Scorpina said, "My family just moved here."
"You can join us. I'm Cassie and this is April." Scorpina stepped beside them and stood for a moment. Cassie waited then said, "Uh, what's your name?"
"Jane Doe," she responded, wincing slightly at the alias. Lord Zedd might not be too happy if he knew she used a name Tommy mentioned in one of their discussions. But what other name was she to use? Almost every name she'd heard of this world seemed so strange to her, so alien, Tommy was the only source she or any of them really had for what would 'work' here. Tommy had said the names were very common, refering to that girl as 'just another Jane Doe', so it was unlikely that he'd connect it to her even if she did use it later.
The girls stared at her. "Jane Doe?" Cassie said after a moment. "I, um, never knew someone really named Jane Doe. That's different. So, uh, Jane, will you be going to our school?"
Scorpina nodded. "Yes. It should be interesting. The Ra- … I mean, they all either love or hate it so I'm looking forward to the comparitive experience."
"Huh?" The girls shared a confused look. April tried, "Where are you from?"
"Out of town."
"Way outta town," Cassie murmured.
A strained silence fell. April tried again. "What do you parents do?"
"Parents?" Scorpina questioned, then, remembering the Wraiths acting the part, "They work."
"O-kay."
After another painfully long silence, Cassie said, "I need a drink. Want something. I'm buying." Without waiting for a response, she stepped up to the concession and purchased three sodas. She handed April and Scorpina their drinks. Scorpina watched as Cassie and April each began drinking theirs and, seeing both girls seemed to enjoy it, she took a big drink herself - which she promptly spit out, tossing the still mostly full cup on the ground in disgust. Cassie and April cried out and jumped back as the soda covered their legs, spilling their own drinks in the process.
"That's disgusting!" Scorpina spat over their cries. "Only a complete idiot would poison their body with this vile liquid!"
When Scorpina finally managed to get away from the angry teenagers and back to her house, she calmly suggested to her Wraith companions that a different location would be advisable. As she made her way to her room, she made a mental note to not mention the minimal use of Power in escaping the crazy humans. After all, she doubted even the Rangers (except maybe Tommy himself) would have noticed such minor use of Power even if they were looking for it. There was no reason to get herself in trouble for a non-issue. She did decide she should research humans more. The only ones she'd ever paid any attention to were the Power Rangers, and then she was only looking for the best ways to attack or watching Tommy.
She turned on the television, figuring that was as good a place to start as any. She had seen every one of the Rangers watching the device at some point.
