Hi everyone all around the world.
Sorry I've been gone for so long…again, but I have an announcement.
I plan to update this story every Monday, if I can.
So…that's it. Enjoy!
Joining the Thieves Guild, part 2
"We're just retrieving debts the shopkeepers owe you?" Glacier asked in disbelief.
"Yes lass, they have been a thorn on my side for a while and need to be taught the errors of their ways." Brynjolf stated to the intelligent twin.
"Who are the targets?" Maine inquired him.
"Keerava, Bersi Honey-Hand, and Haelga. Are you girls up to the task?" Brynjolf questions them.
"We didn't come down here for nothing, yes I'm in!" Marine says.
"I suppose collecting debts won't be that troublesome, I'll give it a go." Glacier answered.
"Good, Mintr and Cils will be supervising how well you girls do."
Mintr snapped his head in Brynjolf's direction.
"What?!" He said in shock.
"You heard me, lad. You and your brother will look after these girls."
"Why?!"
As Brynjolf and Mintr Firestone were have their 'conversation', Marine and Glacier were planning on what to do in their task.
"So what do you want to do, Marine?"
"Well let's see, there are three shopkeepers and two of us. So each of us can 'visit' one of the targets and then we meet with the last of the shopkeepers. Because if we deal with two of the shopkeeper the last one will just willingly give us the money." Marine planned.
"That reasonable, but who gets who?"
"You can deal with Bersi in his shop, which I forgot the name of it. And I can deal with Haelga."
"That leaves Keerava to be last."
"Hell yeah."
The Firestone twins walked past the Water-Ice cousins then Cils called out to them.
"Hey girls, you coming?" He said before skipping after his brother.
"Yeah, we're coming!" They said as they ran after the boys.
When the group of teenagers was out of the Ratway and into the city of Riften the girls went toward their destinations like they discussed at the Ragged Flagon. Mintr followed after Marine to Haelga's bunkhouse, as Cils went after Glacier to Bersi's shop.
Glacier and Cils entered the pawn shop and went to the counter. Bersi smiled at them once they got there.
"Welcome to the Pawned Prawn, how may I help you?" Bersi greeted.
"Nothing, sir. Well actually I do need something, but it's something you owe." Glacier says to him.
Bersi raised an eyebrow at her.
"Which is what?"
The black-sky blue head girl looked over at Cils before turning back to the shopkeeper.
"Umm…you owe the Thieves guild some debt and I'm here to retrieve it." She told him.
Bersi happy visage changed to an irritated one.
"Is this what the Thieves guild is doing now? Send kids to do their dirty work for them? That's low even for them."
"It's nothing like that!" Cils said.
"I don't care what it is I will not pay those lowlife thieves!" Bersi yelled.
Glacier stepped back away from the counter, unaware that there was a dresser with an ugly urn on top. But little too late, she bumped into the dresser and accidentally knocked over the urn with her elbow. The urn fell to the ground and broke into pieces. Glacier covered her mouth in shock and surprise at what happened.
"No! That urn was priceless!" Bersi cried.
"I-I-I didn't mean-" Glacier stuttered.
"Here take it!" He hands Glacier the money he owes. "I-I will make sure to pay my debts next time!"
"Um…"
"Thank you!" Cils said as he pushed the girl out of the store.
Meanwhile with Marine and Mintr, they entered the bunkhouse to meet Haelga. She stood at the counter as she watched the two teens come over to her. The blond woman didn't like it one bit.
"What do you brats want? If you want a place to rest go to the Bee and Barb because this is not the place." She told them.
"Yeah, I'm not here for that shit. You owe the Thieves guild some money, which by the way you forgot to pay. So I'm here to get, now hand it over!" Marine demanded Haelga.
"Not on your life. I'm not giving money to you or your guild, so you can go fuck yourself and get out of here!"
Usually, Marine would have beat the hell of people who say that kind of crap to her, but no she has something different in mind.
"Hehehe, you should really watch what you say to a youth madam." Marine gave a malevolence grin at the woman.
"Oh yeah, why don't you make me, bitch!" Haelga raised her fists ready to fight.
"Bad move, Haelga." Mar whispered.
Haelga was the first to swing her right fist at the girl, but Marine dodged it with little effort. Then the woman swung her other fist and again Marine dodged it. Next came fist combo, but again her attempts didn't hit Marine at least once.
"Come on, show me what you got!"
"I thought you never ask."
Marine delivered front kick to her midsection, which caught her off guard and hold her stomach. Then did an uppercut to her chin knocking her teeth out. And lastly she tackled her to the ground, gripped both of her wrists with her left hand, and pulled out a dagger to Haelga's throat.
"Now that I have you in my grasp I will tell you one last time. Give me the debt you owe the guild or I silt your throat and watch your blood color this wood floor."
Mintr and Haelga's niece watch the two in shock and amusement as this scene played out like a movie. The shopkeeper was breathing heavily under the young female as sweat ran down her face like a marathon. With little choice she had left she made her decision.
"Fine, I'll give you the debt I owe. Just get the dagger off my neck and let me up." Marine nodded her head before removing herself off the older woman.
Haelga went behind the counter to get the huge pouch of money then threw it at the girl.
"Thank you!" Marine said, and then walked out the shop with Mintr following behind her.
Once the group was back together after confronting the two shopkeepers, they went into the Bee and Barb to meet the last shopkeeper. Mintr and Cils leaned against the wall to watch what the twin cousins will do the Argonian. The twins took their seats at the bar and about to talk to Keerava.
"Miss Keerava-" Marine stared to say, but then Keerava slammed the money pouch in front of the girls. "Uh…thanks?"
Keerava ignored the athletic teen. The girls shrugged at each other before leaving the inn with the boys and back to the Ragged Flagon. Once they returned to the Flagon, Brynjolf greeted the teens.
"Hello lasses, how did it go?" Brynjolf inquired the girl.
"I had to beat that bitch out of her money! Fucking hype!" Marine said enthusiastically, Brynjolf and the other members chuckled at her.
"Brynjolf, if you were there you would have seen her beat the Oblivion out of Haelga." Mintr stated.
"You have to tell me about it, lad." The master thief turned to Glacier. "And what about you, lass."
Glacier was about to answer, but Cils beat her to it.
"She did fine, Glacier knocked over Bersi's stupid urn to get him to pay us." Cils said.
"Fine work, both of you. Now for your memberships, follow me." Brynjolf said.
The Water-Ice girls followed the grown man to back room of the Flagon to the secret passage. When they went through the passage, Brynjolf opened the hidden door that led to the man base of the Thieves guild. The inner base was larger than the Ragged Flagon and it had more people here. Brynjolf directed the girls to the large center in the middle of the enormous pond, a man stood on the platform with his arms crossed as if he was waiting for someone, which he was.
"Mercer, these are the lasses I've been telling you about. Our new recruits." Brynjolf informed his boss, Mercer Frey.
Mercer looked over at the girls and he didn't like that they were young-lings just like Mintr and Cils.
"What the hell is with you recruiting these…little girls? You wasted our guild's resources on these children." Mercer was displeased.
"They are not a waste Mercer; these girls have the skills and knowledge of a perfect thief. Mintr and Cils can tell you that."
'Mercer's an asshole!' Marine pondered.
"Fine, but before we can continue I need to make sure you girls understand one thing. You play by our rules, you will walk around rich. If you don't, then you are no use to us. Both of you will do what we say, when we say it." Mercer tells them. "Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, sir." Glacier answers.
"Hell yeah!" Marine smiled at him.
Mercer rolled his eyes at the wavy hair teenager before continuing.
"Good, now it's time to put you kids to the test." Mercer says to the twins.
