Welcome back to Dovahtwiins, everyone!
I know the last chapter was totally random and stupid, basically because I had to finish it before the day ended and I hate keeping you all wondering where the chapter will appear.
So to make up for my failure in the last chapter, here is a chapter that I hope you like.
Chapter 17, Enjoy.
Law & Dovah
Four Days Later, 11:04 am;
"Hmm, where the heck is Glacier?"Marine inquired as she walked around in circle outside the gates of Windhelm. "I texted her yesterday to meet me at Windhelm outside the gates, and now I've waited three hours for her to show up!"
Marine rubbed to arms to keep them warm.
"Where the hell is she?!"
"Behind you." Someone said behind Marine.
The enthusiastic girl of thirteen turned around to see her cousin, Glacier, standing there with her arms folded. Glacier had on a Novice robe instead of leather armor.
"What took you so long, Glacier?!"
"Calm down, it was a long road from Whiterun to here. Also I encounter some wolves and other animals on the way here." Glacier explained.
"Why isn't Lydia with you?"
"I told her to stay with Lucia." Glacier said. "Give Ysolda a break."
A cold wind blew past the twins making Marine shiver.
"Do you need a robe or other winter clothing?"
"I-I-I'm f-f-fine."
"Don't bullshit me, Marine. I can tell when you're lying to me."
"Whatever, let's just get inside the damn gates."
With that said the cousins entered the city of Windhelm.

Marine & Glacier entering Windhelm
Once they were inside, Glacier turned toward the three people by the pathway. The two Nords were having an argument with the Dark elf woman. They accused her of being an Imperial spy and say that her races are doing nothing to help them in the war. When they were done, the Dark elf woman approached Glacier and Marine.
"Are you girls like them? Do you hate the Dark elves?" She questioned them.
"No." They answered in unison.
"Well this is not the city to be in. The Nords here have a disliking of us and the Argonians here." She told them.
Glacier was curious of why they hated them.
"Why is that?" Glacier asked her.
"Because they believe that we are Imperial spies sent by the Thalmor to watch them. We are not I keep telling them, but they won't hear a word about!"
"So Nords here are racist is what you're saying." Glacier concluded.
"Yeah." Marine answered. "But not all Nords are racist."
"That's partly true, child. I should get back to the Grey Manor now, don't let those Nords get your spirits down." The Dark elf went on her way leaving the brown skin girls.
"Well now you know that Nords hate people that not Nords, let do a side mission." Marine said.
"You just now informed me that Nords are sometimes racist to others and you want to do a side mission?!" Glacier scowled.
"Pretty much." Marine smiled at her.
"…Fine."
"Awesome, and I know just the mission."
Marine grabbed onto Glacier's wrist before dragging her to the Windhelm cemetery. When they arrived a small crowd of people was stationed around a stoned coffin. Marine and Glacier walked closer to get a better view of the crime scene; there was blood splatter on the coffin, blood the snowy ground, and the victim was a woman in her under garments with cut marks on her body.
"Marine, wh-what happened here?" Glacier asked in shock of the scene before her.
Marine was about to answer, but then one of the guards came and interrupted them.
"You two, keep your distance away from the body." The guard said to them.
"Sir, what happened here?" Glacier inquired him.
"Another girl was killed that's what. Her name was Susanna, who worked at Candlehearth Hall. Severed me a drink or two there…but I didn't know her well." He answered her.
Glacier stared at the body of Susanna as Marine jumped in with the questioning, even though she knew how the quest goes.
"Another girl? Who was the other victim before her?" Marine questioned next.
"There were two other victims killed before her; she's the third and killed like the others, killed at night and body torn up."
"How was the victim killed?"
"I assume it was a dragger, from the strange cuts on the body." He replied.
As Marine was interrogating the guard, Glacier examined the uncommon cuts on the body.
'Four cuts on the right side of neck going down the biceps, one large cut on the left thigh, more on the right leg, one deep cut on the left shoulder, and a very deep open cut on the lower back area going through the front. This murder is very creative to cut women like this." She then searched the body to find some gold and an iron dagger on the body. 'An iron dagger? It may be hers or the killers.'
"Glacier, you find anything?" Marine asked.
"These cuts on the body are indeed eccentric like the guard said. I found a dagger on her person."
"Maybe she fought back?" The priestess said with uncertainty.
"No, there's no blood on the knife." Glacier turned toward the priestess. "Did you see anything strange when this occurred?"
"Ehh no, sorry. However I noticed her coin purse was still on her, so whoever did this wasn't after gold." Helgrid the priestess informed. "I should prepare the body, excuse me."
The old priestess left the scene. Glacier drew her attention to the dirty, female beggar, Sildo.
"What about you? You see anything out of the ordinary?" The logical twin questioned.
"I heard screaming and came running, but when I appeared she…was already…like this." The beggar told.
Marine hummed in question, and then she turned to the last witness at the scene, Calixto Corrium.
"What about you?! You see something! We found a dagger, is it yours?!" Marine yelled at him getting all up in his face.
"Marine!" Glacier yelled at her.
Calixto raised his hands in surrender before answering the crazy teen.
"No, no the dagger is not mine. But I saw the fellow run off, didn't get a good look at him." Marine narrowed her sapphire eyes at him. "I swear!"
Marine backed away, but not before giving him the 'I'm watching you' hand gesture. Glacier did a face-palm as the guard tilted his head at her.
"We asked all the witnesses', but nobody saw anything." Marine told him.
"Damn, just like all the others. That bastard got away." He said with venom.
"That maybe true, but I have a feeling there is something me to this case than we know. That is if you allow me and my cousin to help." Glacier offered.
"You kids want to help solve this crime, be my guest. But you you'll have to talk to Jorleif in the Palace of the King. If he agrees then we'll talk."
The girls nodded then stepped away from the scene to talk in private.
"Let me guess, you want me to spoil the murder to you?" Marine asked Glacier.
"No, cause this quest is too good to spoil. This like Law & Order expect Skyrim mode." Glacier smiled.
"Got that right, Glaze. Alright let's solve this murder…Law and Order style!" Marine exclaimed.

Conversation with Jorleif
The Water-Ice twin cousins walked over to the Jarl's steward, Jorleif, who was standing by the throne. He saw the girls approaching him and greeted them.
"Hello children, welcome to Windhelm. How may I help you?" He says.
"Actually we want to help you and your men find the guy who is killing the women in this city." Glacier told him.
"You two want to help find the guy?" He inquired in surprise. "Aren't you girl a bit young to being looking for a killer?"
"We might be young, but that doesn't we can't help people who are in trouble especially if there is a murder involved."
Jorleif rubbed his face in thought.
" , as much as you depend on your men to do everything right in Windhelm, they can't fight in a war and find the killer at the same time, it's not possible. Also it will save you and your men a lot of trouble if we help find the killer for you. Please?" Glacier reasoned with him.
After a long time of thinking Jorleif had his answer.
"If you girls are that consistent to help out, you have my blessing." He replied.
The twins high fived each other before turning back to the steward.
"We won't fail, sir!" They said together.
Jorleif nodded and gave hearty laugh as the twins went back to the crime scene.

Examining the crime scene again
The twins returned to the scene of the crime. Everyone that was earlier at the scene was not there, except for the Windhelm guard. The body of Susanna was gone as well. Marine approached the guard, while her cousin examined the blood stain on the stone casket.
"We got permission to help find the piece of shit that did this." Marine told him.
"All right, when you two were gone I noticed at trail of blood leading out of the cemetery." He informed the identical twin.
"Tolerable and what of the body?" Glacier inquired.
"Helgrid took the body into the Hall of the Dead for the burial. She may be crazy, but if she knows anything it's dead bodies."
"Glacier," Glacier looked up at her cousin. "I'm and the guard will follow this blood trail, while you talk to Helgrid." Marine says.
"Right, I'll meet you guys where the trail ends."
The guard and Marine nodded in agreement before following the trial to where ever it leads, leaving Glacier to head toward the Hall of the Dead.

Looking for Helgrid
We find Glacier walking through the tunnels of the dead looking for the priestess and the corpus of the victim. After a few of searching, she found the old lady looking at the torn body on the wooden table. Glacier made her way over to them and stopped beside the woman.
"Large diagonal cut from left shoulder." Helgrid suddenly said.
Glacier raised an eyebrow at the woman.
"Excuse me?" She pardoned.
"There a large diagonal cut from the left shoulder." She told the child. "You don't see it."
"I was look at the back of the body earlier; I didn't look at the front." Glacier told the old lady. "Is there anything else strange about the body?"
"Only the shapes of the cut, they are ancient cuts made special tools by the Nords when they cut their dead. But what Nord could possible use embalmed tools, other than me?"
"I don't know, but let me know if you find anything else."
"Don't hold too much hope, child. Now let me get back to the body; have to get it ready for her grave."
"Will do."
With that said Glacier left the woman to her work.

Meeting up with Marine & Windhelm Guard
"Marine!" Glacier called as she ran towards Marine and the guard, who were standing outside of Hjerim.
"Hey Glacier, nice to see ya!" Marine greeted her.
"So this trial leads to the house. Who lives here?" Glacier inquired.
"This use to be Friga Shatter-Shield's house, but now it's abandoned." The guard answered.
"What happened to her?"
"She was killed."
"Oh!"
Marine snickered at Glacier's shocked visage; Glacier smacked her on the head for that.
"How do we get in?"
"Tova Shatter-Shield has the key; you'll find her at the Candlehearth Inn."
"Great, cause I am hungry!" Marine said as her stomach growled.

Lunch Time
"Here your meal girls; two loaves of bread, two version chops, baked potatoes, apple pie, one tankard of water, and mead." Elda Early-Dawn recalled the order to the twins.
"Thank you." Glacier handed her the gold before taking a sip of water.
Across from her was Marine, who was chugging down her mead and mashing the meat into her mouth.
"Manners, Marine, manners." She said calmly.
"What I'm hungry!" Marine said as she took a big bite out of her bread.
Glacier let out a soft sigh of frustration then took a soft bite out of her potato.
"I miss her…" Glacier turned toward the voice. "I miss Friga so much."
Tova Shatter-Shield was sitting at another table with her husband, who was trying to comfort his wife.
"I know dear…I know. I miss our daughter too." Her husband said in sadness.
"Maybe I should go over there and talk to Tova about her daughter." Glacier said to herself.
Glacier removed herself from the table she sat at and went over to the Shatter-Shield table.
"Excuse me, Tova Shatter-Shield?" Tova and her husband look at the child that has approached their table.
"Yes?" Tova replied.
"Um…I don't mean to intrude, but I heard about what happened to your daughter. I'm sorry." Glacier said to the sad mother.
"Thank you, I know I have to be strong for the family, but I miss her so much." Little tears rolled down her cheek.
"And I hope you don't mind if I ask you a few questions about you daughter."
"Why?"
"Me and my…" Glacier turned back to her table to see Marine gulping down the apple pie like a hungry pig. "I am trying to find the person who killed your daughter and would like your cooperation."
"What do you want to know?" She questioned the bright blue eye girl.
"Has Friga have any enemies, you know someone who was jealous of her in some way?"
The husband answered this question.
"No, at least not that we know of. Us Shatter-Shields have some enemies, but that's because we have wealth within the city. I have never seen anyone show a disliking for her."
"What about people she's friends with?"
"No, none of them."
Tova got up from the table and went to the windows in though.
"Our daughter was a sweet-heart, a joy to the world like her twin sister. She…she has never done anything wrong to us…or anyone else. And to know…-sob-…that some has hurt…her-sob- it's…it's…" Tova's husband came over and hugged her.
"I understand, you don't have to continue. Sorry if I troubled you." She apologized.
After Tova wiped the tears off her face she went over to Glacier.
"It is alright, hard to let go of someone you love."
"Yeah…it is." Then Glaze asked her. "Do you if I have the key to Hjerim, I don't know what might be in there but there might be some clue about who killed her."
"Sure," Tova reached into her robe to pull out the key and hand it to the smart girl. "here you go."
"Thank you, Ms. Tova." Glacier went back to her table, but turned back to the Shatter-Shields. "I bring down who ever this to your daughter and the others. That's a promise."
The Shatter-Shields smiled at the girl when she promised she find the bastard who killed their beloved daughter. When Glacier returned to her table, it was covered with dirty plates and tankard. And Marine was fast asleep. Glacier's mouth and eye twitched as she stared at the mess before her. After second of silence, she finally shouted.
"MARINE!"

Looking for clues
"We are here at Friga Shatter-Shield's house, Hjerim, which has been abandoned since the day she died. Private detective Marine Water-Ice and her partner, Glaze donut, will now enter the house of the dead victim to find clues of the killer's whereabouts." Marine narrated.
"Why are you narrating like you're a journalist?"Glacier asked her cousin. "And why the hell are calling me Glaze donut?!"
"Cause that's what detectives do when they're on a murder case." Marine answered.
"No they don't! And they don't give their partners names like that!"
"Yes they do, and the reason I called you that is because whenever we go to Dunkin' Donuts you always order the glazed donuts."
"Oh shut up! Let's just scrutinize this house before you give me a headache."
Glacier opened the door with the key Tova gave her and entered the derelict home. Once they were inside, debris and bright light floated through the house. Glacier saw another trail of blood on her left going from the floor to the chest toward the corner. She sprint to the blood covered chest, examined the dry blood stain, and then opened the chest. Inside were 'Beware the Butcher' posters and a red journal. She first read the poster before reading the butcher's journal.
Marine on the other hand went to the back of the house into the lone room. Just like in the game, she picked up the necromancer amulet and then when to the nailed wardrobe, opened it, and knocked on the hidden panel. When the panel opened, she looked inside and sure enough a hidden room behind it.
"Glacier, come over here!" Marine commanded.
Glacier was by her side within two seconds.
"What is it?" She asked, but then she jumped and gasped when she saw the bloody alter and the bones in the room. "Oh my God. Marine…who did this?"
Marine picked up another journal from the alter before she responded to her cousin.
"Spoiler alert again, Glacier?"
"As much as I like to see how these events will turn out, I need to know who to look out for." Glacier exclaimed. "That and I want the case to be over soon."
"Good because I don't want to follow all the steps in the mission, too long and too much time."
"So what do we do now?"
"We go to the court wizard, Wuunferth the Unliving."
"Wuunferth the Unliving? That's an odd name for a wizard."
"Ehh, it fits him." Marine stated. "Come on let's go."
The girls exit Hjerim and headed for the Palace of the King to see the court mage.

Talking to Wuunferth the Unliving
The Water-Ice girls entered the Mage's quarters and sitting at the desk near the wall was Wuunferth. He looked up at the girls before putting down his book to talk to them.
"What are you doing here, children?" Wuunferth inquired.
Glacier spoke up for the two of them.
"We're investigating the case of the Butcher." She told him.
Wuunferth quirked an eyebrow at the brown skin girls.
"You little girls are looking for the Butcher?! Hahaha, next you'll tell me that you girls will join the Stormcloaks!" The wizard laughed.
Then suddenly Marine pushed past Glacier to get to the wizard, and then slammed the necromancer amulet on his desk. The court wizard stopped his laughter to look at the amulet that was slammed on his desk.
"We found this amulet and two journals at Hjerim! And one of them declared YOUR name in it! So how about you tell us what you know about him and tell us how to catch this fucker!" Marine demanded.
"Marine, please!"
Wuunferth narrowed his elderly at the odd hair girl before him. After a few seconds of silence, the mage spoke again. This time he smiled at them.
"Heh, you girls are in luck."
"How so?" Glacier inquired him.
"I've been keeping a pattern on him since the murders started. And I believe he will kill another so by…" Wuunferth mumbled to himself for a second. "Soon, very soon."
"What do we do so that he doesn't kill another?"
"I suggest you girls patrol the Stone quarter during the night, but seeing that you both will be asleep during patrol take shifts." Wuunferth recommended.
"That seems reasonable." Glacier said.
"Yeah, thanks for the info old man." Marine said as she walked out of his quarters.
"Yes, thank you and sorry about my cousin's behavior earlier."
"Go find the killer, girl!" Wuunferth yelled as Glacier rushed out the room.
As Glacier left the room, Marine devised another plan for them.
"I have a plan." Marine said suddenly.
"Of course you would because you're the 'Skyrim expert'." Glacier said sarcastically. "What's you so-called plan?"
"We sleep till morning."
"Wait how does that-"
"I've done this mission remember. You know back before we transported into the game."
"Right, but how does-"
Then Marine grasped her arm.
"Let's just go to bed!" Marine shouted.

Stone Quarter
9:05am
Catching the Butcher
After a long night of rest and a good, balanced breakfast the twin cousin walked to the Stone quarter. Once there, Glacier's bright blue eyes surveyed the any suspicious action at the markets. To her dismay there was nothing much going on except people shopping for supplies.
"I don't see anyone acting strange here. Are you and Wuunferth sure the killer will strike here?" Glacier inquired with doubt.
"Yeah…he'll be here and will attempt to murder that high elf over at the veggie stand." Marine pointed to the high elf, who as Marine foretold was standing at the exact stand. "Until he comes I'll be at The White Phial."
"Fine, I'll keep an eye out for the bastard." Glacier said.
"Good, see ya." Marine then went to the alchemy store, but she turned back to Glacier. "One more thing, if the guy is about to strike and I'm not present…stop him the best you can."
Glacier nodded as her cousin entered the store. She kept a close eye on the tall, golden elf and the people around her. Other citizens were coming in and out of the stone quarter, but none of them looked like a threat. Then out of the blue, something caught the thirteen year olds eyes. A man was silently sneaking up to the elf, who didn't notice the man coming behind her. Glacier pondered on why the man was coming behind her, but when her bright blue eyes caught the iron dagger in his grip, it clicked in her head like a light switch.
"The Butcher…" She said in shock.
She took action by shooting the killer with the frostbite spell; the spell hit the butcher and stopped his advance on the High Elf. The man turned to Glacier with shock and fear in his grey eyes. Glacier saw the face of the killer and was shock to know that he was one of the witnesses at the crime scene.
Without a thought, the Butcher ran out of the stone quarter; Glacier ran after him. They ran past the Candlehearth Hall to the Grey Manor, as they did the killer was pushing people and guards out of his way to get some distance away from her. However, Glacier wasn't far behind from the killer.
'Damnit, I need more speed if I want to catch this guy! I should use whirlwind sprint to get some momentum.' The logical twin pondered. "Wuld!"
Glacier was now closer to the murderer; she jumped on his back, knocking then to the stony ground in the process. The man struggled to get the teenager off his back, as Glacier struggled to get his arms behind his back. With enough strength the girl can muster she pulled his arms together and bonded them with the leather strap from her knapsack.
"Glacier!" Marine called as she ran to the two with guards following behind. "You got Calixto Corrium."
"Wait, Calixto is the murderer?" one of the guards inquired.
Marine answered for the two.
"Yes, he's the murderer, who's been playing the 'witness' ever since this started."
"And he almost killed a woman at the market." Glacier added.
"Yeah that too."
Glacier removed herself off the old man, as the guards came over and pulled the old man.
"Unhand me!" Calixto demanded, but the men ignored him.
"Thank you girls, now the streets are safe. Go tell the steward that this Butcher has been arrested." When that was said, Glacier and Marine followed the Windhelm guards to the Palace.

Case Closed
The twins, guards, and the captured Butcher entered the thrown room of steward, Jorleif, was sitting at the King's table eating breakfast until he saw the group coming towards him. He got up as soon as they approached him.
"Sir!" A guard called.
"Yes, what is it?" Jorleif questioned.
"These girls have found and caught the bastard that's been committing the murders." He told him.
"They did!?" He looked at Glacier and Marine before looking back at the guards. "Who is it?"
When he asked that stupid question, Glacier face-palmed herself and Marine shot him the 'are you kidding' visage.
'Really, the old man who has his arms bonded and being man-handled by guards does not give you the hint that HE'S the murderer!' Marine pondered.
"This bastard right here, Calixto Corrium!" The other guard said.
"Calixto, you have a lot to answer for." Calixto didn't respond aside giving him a dirty look. "Take him to the jail cells; he'll be in there for a long time."
The guards obeyed and left the steward with the Water-Ice twin cousins. Once that happened, Jorleif smiled at the girls before he spoke.
"Thank you, both of you for your help. With the killer behind bars, the streets are now safer for our citizens." Jorleif said.
"Heh, it was nothing." Marine stated, rubbing the back of her head in a cool fashion.
"I'm just relieved that the man was caught before any other women were killed." Glacier stated. "I pray for people who were those women, like the Shatter-Shields. Drowning themselves in liquor believing that it would erase the pain, but it don't do much but put them in more melancholy."
"Yes, it's hard for them and everyone else." Spoke the steward.
"But at least they will know that the asshole is in jail. They'll feel a lot of weight off their shoulders to know that." Marine added.
"Your right. Oh and here is your reward." Jorleif took out a big poach of gold and gave it to the two teens. "5,000 gold for both of you. Windhelm is in your debt."
"Thank you." They said in unison.
Then they walked away from him to leave the Palace.
"So, how did it feel?" Marine inquired her cousin.
"It was…surreal in a way. Basically because this is first murder case I've been on." Glacier answered.
"Believe me, there is more cases like this; however we can't do them like right now."
"True, so what now?"
"Let's enjoy the rest of the day, I can give you a tour of Windhelm and meet the other races in this city."
"I like a lot."
"Of course you would."
Before they exit the throne room, Marine said one more thing.
"Case Closed!" Marine shouted before leaving the Palace of the King.
