Kendall was very distant the following few days and never once did he step out of the mansion. He stayed put inside and if he wanted to go out he would sit on the balcony and gaze longingly out towards the sea.

During the day he'd watch the Tainted Diamond's crew prepare to set off once again and during the night he'd lie in bed and plead James to tell him stories and tell him about the world. The mansion seemed to grow silent with the prince and there was no longer anyone but the two in the large estate.

James grew worried. Kendall seemed unhappy in a way and he wasn't so sure of why. The young prince was ever grateful and excited whenever he'd share the tales of his adventures, looking awed and absolutely dazed by the amazing wonders James had seen and been through. "Tell me about the night you met me." Kendall asked the night before departure and James eyed him.

"You were there, were you not?" he asked.

"Please." Kendall begged and James chuckled and ran his fingertips over Kendall's back, tracing the tree that had started to bloom.

James told him the story once more. "If I only had known what I would find in the fortress." James sighed. "I wish I could go back and see you again for the first time." He said. "Though every time is like the first time." He cooed and smiled when Kendall's cheeks turned scarlet red. "I love everything about you, Kendall."

"You do?"

"Indeed I do." James said softly. "When I am with you am not scared of anything." He murmured. "The only thing I fear is that you might realize who I am, a lousy pirate, and grow feathery wings and fly away to chase the sun without me."

"I would never." Kendall said and hugged James' arm. "I would not ever." He said and nestled in the brunet's embrace. "The day I die will be the day I leave you." He said sternly and James hushed at him.

"I don't want to hear those words, my love." He said. "Spare me those thoughts, would you kindly." He cooed and Kendall hesitated a bit before rolling them over and crawling up to straddle the brunet. The medallion around his neck – that he rarely took off and never let out of sight – dangled from his thin neck and hung down just a few inches over James' throat.

Kendall eyed him intently, scanning every single inch of his lover's face before leaning down and kissing him softly at first but with a growing passion that lapped at them both like hungry flames. James gave a moan and let his palm flatten out on the blond's back.

The young prince radiated a certain warmth and smell that left James intoxicated. Many times had James felt himself craving it. It would make his head feel light and his chest buzz delightfully. James could swear that his heart was humming whenever he felt the prince's scent.

"I want to give you something." Kendall then said and pulled away. James blinked his eyes and gave him a confused look. "A gift."

"You've given me yourself. The greatest gift of all." James said and Kendall smiled shyly at him and slid off him and reached over to his bedside table and grabbed the small mirror on it. James watched curiously when the blond ran his fingers over the reflective glass and buzzed silently. The glass lit up in a sharp green color before dimming down. The mirror – that had once been golden – what now pale white and shimmered in the moonlight.

Kendall offered the mirror to James. "A gift." he repeated and James furrowed his eyebrows.

"What is it?" he asked, knowing that it must not only be a mirror. The smaller male smiled at him and turned the mirror towards James to look it.

"It's a window." He said and James looked into the mirror. "It is a window into my heart, James. You will always be in my heart and you will always be loved." he said. The brunet stared into the mirror. Sure enough the mirror was still a mirror and he saw his reflection, but a warm and joyful feeling filled him when he saw himself.

He turned to his lover and smiled. "Thank you." He murmured and Kendall smiled weakly and laid down, letting his head loll down onto the pillow. "Are you alright?" James asked and wrapped an arm around him.

Kendall nodded and scooted closer, leaning his head against the brunet's shoulder. "Call me insane but there is nothing I would not do for you." He cooed. "I have realized that my fate is intertwined with yours..."

"Have you now?" James chuckled lowly. "In what way?" He asked and Kendall turned to smile at him.

"Our two fates become one." Kendall said softly and tangled his fingers into James' velvety hair. The brunet's lips twisted into a crooked smile and let Kendall play with locks of his hair. "You will never leave me, James."

"I don't want to leave you." James replied silently. Kendall smiled.

"Good night, James." He said and leaned back and closed his eyes. James stayed awake for many more hours and ran his fingertips over the blond's cheek before falling asleep and dreaming of his divine lover.

"Are you awake?" Carlos asked and glanced over at the bed on the other side of the room. A pair of chocolate brown eyes twinkled in the dark, looking back at him.

"I am." Logan replied and shifted in the bed, turning to lie on his side. Carlos smiled briefly and Logan couldn't help but return the smile. "We're leaving this island tomorrow morning." Logan said silently. "I do wonder if I am to ever see it again."

The latino chuckled lowly and turned to face the former servant. "If you stick around you will." He said. "Will you?" He then asked. "Will you stay with me?" he asked and didn't even care that the question was blunt and daring. Logan peered over at him in the dark.

"Yes." He replied silently. So silently that Carlos just barely heard it. "If you'll let me." Logan added and the latino nodded.

"Come here." He whispered and for a few seconds neither of them said anything. Logan silently got out of his bed and tiptoed across the small room and laid down on the space Carlos had made for him.

The latino wrapped an arm around him and Logan laid still. His breathing was slightly faster and Carlos wasn't sure of what was going through the raven haired boy's head. Logan seemed to be in a mental battle with himself and it took a long time before he leaned his head against Carlos' shoulder and wrapped his arms around the latino's muscular arm. Carlos smiled to himself and Logan strangely felt right at home.

Kendall sat up on the top of the mast when they left the next day. He sighed and looked down at the crew members, watching them kiss their lovers goodbye, embracing their children and waving at them when they boarded the ship.

The young prince gave another sigh and slid down the mast and strolled into the captain's cabin and had a seat by the table. When James stepped into the cab to check on him Kendall was deep in thoughts. The pirate captain kissed the top of his head, snapping Kendall out of his little bubble of thoughts. "What?" James chuckled when the prince looked up at him.

The blond stayed silent and turned away. James frowned a bit. Kendall continued to avoid him for the rest of the day and mostly lingered in the cabin or up on the mast. Carlos also noticed and one of the crew members had sworn on that he'd heard the prince chant silent inaudible words.

When the sun began to set and the crew was giving in for the night James found his lover in his cabin, sitting on his knees in front of the bed with his palms pressed together as if in prayer.

"Kendall?" James asked warily. The blond was definitely chanting something. "Kendall?"

The blond grew silent and then stood up and turned to the brunet. James couldn't help but feel like something was different but the feeling wasn't unpleasant. The blond smiled lovingly up at him and brought a hand to caress James' cheek.

"James." He murmured and James shook his head in confusion. "Lay with me." Kendall pleaded and leaned back and sat on the bed. James hesitated before laying down with the blond that felt warm to the touch and seemed to radiate his own light.

"Am I delirious or are you only growing more beautiful?" James asked.

The young prince smiled at him and climbed to straddle him. "I want you tonight, James." He said softly, voice like velvet. "Not like any other times. Tonight it will be different." He cooed and the brunet gulped nervously.

"What do you mean?" He asked and Kendall leaned down and kissed his neck and then his jaw and then his lips.

"Make love to me like tomorrow was not." Kendall purred into his ear. "Own me like I someone is threatening to take me away." He murmured and kissed James' chin and nipped his way to his neck. "Taint me so that I will never forget."

James shuddered at the words and gulped again, his breathing suddenly felt strangled and he felt... nervous. James Diamond had been all over the world and slept in all of its beds but never had he been nervous in one.

He laid there and tried to force air into his lungs while the blond unbuttoned his shirt and slid it off him. Dragging the soft fabric down his arms and letting his lips create a feathery light trail down his chest.

"Claim me." Kendall demanded and crawled back up and kissed the brunet's lips. James nodded before returning the favor, capturing his lover's lips in a kiss. The blond squeaked and sighed in content.

The brunet held his lover tight and kissed him once more. "If you want me, you shall have me." He said and Kendall's head lolled back and let the brunet kiss his neck and collar bone. The young prince didn't answer with words but with mere whimpers and moans. That time it really was different because somewhere beneath the love, affection and warmth there was a certain desperation. It was warmer, longer, deeper and more than they had ever had before. It felt like the first time but only a million times better.
