Hey guys, sorry for the wait and all, got so many things to do.
Here's chapter 19 for y'all.
Enjoy!
You got the wrong killer!
Glacier's POV
"Hmm…" I groaned while moving my head; I was still asleep, but half awake.
I wanted to go back into a deep slumber, but for some reason something seemed…off and menacing in the atmosphere. Thought I may be half asleep, I can tell when "There's a nip in the air". And the creaking in the background is an obvious sign that I am no longer in Candlehearth Hall's guest room.
My eyelids slowly lifted up from my aquamarine eyes, but my vision was a little blurry. I could make out a dark-brown wood wall and a chest near it. Then my eyes wondered to the barrel, sack, and bookcase on the other side. My vision was fading in and out as I looked around, but it stopped when I gazed up the bookcase to the bright light and…is there someone on the case?
'Who is that?' I pondered as I stared at the mysterious character in black and red attire near the candles.
Good thing my vision is back to normal so that I could see the figure better.
"Sleep well, princess?" So this character is a woman, that's unexpected.
"I was…until I woke up in this," I looked around to analyze the place. "…cabin, correct?"
The woman chuckled for a short while.
"Close, but don't dwell on where you are for now." She tells me.
"Why not?! You're the one who brought me here for no reason!" I yelled then added. "And I don't even know who you are? Mind giving an explanation?!"
The woman glared at me as I did to her before answering.
"No good reason, child? Does the murder of Old Grelod the Kind sound like a no reason? Hmm?"
My throat felt dry and no words would come out of it. How did she know about that? Does she know that Marine was the one who killed that old woman? I have to know.
"How-How do you know about that?" I inquired.
"Half of Skyrim knows about it. Old hag gets cut up by a teenager in her own orphanage? Rumors like that tend to get thrown around." She says. "I have to admit that was a great kill. That Old Grelod had it coming to her. However, there's a slight…problem."
"What kind of problem?" I asked.
"A steal kill problem. The little Aretino boy was looking for the Dark Brotherhood; for me and my associates. Grelod was, in all rights, a Dark Brotherhood contract. And you stole her death from us!"
So, she's accusing me of killing the old woman? That's absurd, Marine was the one who killed her not me! Yes, I stopped the woman from hitting my cousin, but Marine is the one who plugged her sword into her carcass.
Wait, that's it! She must have miss token me for Marine because we almost look alike.
"I think you got the wrong killer." I reassured.
"What?"
"I was not the one who killed the lady; it was another girl who looked like me."
The woman was silent for what seemed like forever.
"You mean that other girl that was in the same room as you?"
"…Yes." I answered.
Again the strange woman was silent for some time.
"Well it doesn't matter now, that just means you have to pay the price for the other girl. You must repay a kill."
"You want me to murder someone for Mari-I mean the other girl? Who am I killing exactly?" I don't like the idea, but I need to know what I'm up against.
"Funny you should ask. If you turn around you will notice I have 'invited' some guests." She informs me.
I turn my head around to see the 'guests' she has brought. There is a Nord, a woman, and a Khajiit; tied up and their faces were covered by black hoods. After examining them, I turned back to my captor.
"Why are they here?" I asked, narrowing my eyes at the woman.
"Another funny thing you would ask. My dear child, there is a contract on one of them and that person can't walk out of here alive…but which one is under the contract?" She says. "Make your choice, your kill, I just want to observe…and admire."
I stormed off of whatever I was resting on and stormed up to the dark minded-twisted woman; anger displayed on my face.
"Fuck you, lady! I'm not killing anyone just because my cousin stole your kill! And she probably knew that this would happen because she's the 'Skyrim video game expert'! Also those people that you kidnapped, who are under this 'Death Note', could be any of them. In fact, it could be all three of them and it wouldn't matter because it's just for your sick entertainment! But as I have said, I'm NOT killing any of those innocent beings! I'm not a killer, not a murderer, not an assassin, and definitely not Michael Myers or O.J. Simpson!"
After ranting for so long I forgot that I need to breathe. The woman didn't say anything for a while, which I believe that's good for my part.
"So you won't kill my guests because you are no killer. And you figured that there is no right or wrong answer, correct?" She inquires.
"Precisely." I said.
"Interesting, but something…stood out in your inspiration speech, which I have to say it bored me to the brink of death. What do you mean by Skyrim video game?"
My voice felt like sinking to the back of my throat and my eye becoming wide like plates.
"Oh wait, I have a better question than that one. Are you and your cousin from Skyrim, or from anywhere in Tamriel…at all?"
Oh God, now I really can't speak.
'Damnit Glacier, why did you have to add video game to the mix? That's completely irrelevant and suspicious!' I lectured myself in the brink of panic. I have to think of something, quick! "O-Of course we are! My cousin and I were born in…uh?"
Oh no I forgot that place Marine said we were from!
"As I suspected, you don't know where in Tamriel you're from, do you?"
Why she giving me so much Q & A!
"Well your answer won't matter; it'll be a lie. How do I know that? Most of my associates are from all over Tamriel, girl. And I'll be certain if I were to show them this," The lady reaches into her pocket and pulls out…my IPhone. "they'll say they have never seen a thing anywhere in their homelands."
"Give me that back." My voice came out squeaky.
"Let me think, oh I got it…no." She says.
I pull out my bow on her, which I'm surprised I still have it on my person.
"Give. Me. It!" I demanded, aiming my arrow at her head.
"Or what? You're gonna shoot that arrow at my head? If you shoot me, little girl, I won't hesitate to kill you." She warns me.
"I'll take my chances!" Then I fire my arrow at her, which hit her in the shoulder.
I continued to shoot arrows at my captor as she descends from the bookshelf. She pulled a dagger from her thigh before charging at me. Arrow after arrow, she still wouldn't go down. Raising her blade high and then brought it down towards face. Fortunately, I moved out of the way, but it did cut my hand.
"Aaah!" I cried, blood dripping down my fingers.
The lady tried to cut me again, but I countered it with a shout.
"Fus Ro!"
My shout threw her back a bit, which gave me enough time to use frostbite and flames. Her body was being consumed by fire and ice. Then she fell to the floor, and unmoving.
"Did I kill her?" I moved over to the motionless body to check for movement, but there was none. "I…I killed her."
The room felt cold and silent as I stared at the body, which felt like forever to me.
"Hey, what's going on here?" I heard the Nord say.
"Let me out of here!" the woman demanded.
"Please, release me." said the Khajiit.
I ran over to the hooded victims to cut their bondages and remove the hoods. They all got up and looked around to conclude where they are.
"W-What happened here? Where are we?" questioned the frightened Nord.
"You were brought here by that woman over there."
I point in the direction of their assailant on the ground.
"What in the Nine Divines happened to her?" asked the middle-age woman.
"I…I killed her." I answered, earning a gasp from each of them.
"You, a little girl, killed the Dark Brotherhood leader?" inquired the shocked Khajiit.
"Yes."
"Hmm, Vasha is very impressed by such actions."
"Thank you, for killing her! But we need to get out of here!"
I went back to loot the corpus of this Dark Brotherhood leader. I took the unique dagger, my IPhone that was low on battery life, and a key. Then I went to the door and unlocked it. The Nord man and woman exit the room, leaving me and Vasha behind.
"Shouldn't you be going as well?" I asked him.
"Yes, but I would like to repay you. By the way, your hand is bleeding." I use my healing spell to close up the wound on my hand. "Is there something you would like from Vasha?"
"Well, I don't know where we are."
"We are in a shack."
"Thank you, but I mean I don't know the area or if there is a town nearby."
"Come, child."
I followed Vasha outside the shack into the crisp-cold afternoon air. From what I can gather we are in a swamp? But what's a shack doing in the middle of a swamp? Vasha moves around the shack and then stops.
"There," He points up to the mountain, and I think I see a palace or something on top. "on that mountain is the Imperial town, Solitude. Vasha will escort you to Solitude, if little girl pleases."
"That would nice, thank you. And my name is Glacier." I acquainted myself.
"Pleasure to meet you, Glacier." Vasha says.
After introducing myself, I follow Vasha to Solitude. As we leave, my mind couldn't help but wonder if Marine knows that I'm gone. Does she know? Is she coming for me or nah? Only time will tell. Or when I charge up my phone and check my messages and phone calls.
Sorry everyone that this took me so long to finish, but you know. Thank you guys for reading, give me some feedback. I feel like this chapter is bad, but that's my opinion on it. See you guys next time on Dovahtwiins!
