Percy Jackson and Camp No Blood Book 3
Chapter 4- The Guitar
Hey guys its been a really long time since last upload but I wont talk about that I will just focus on writing this story.
I don't know if it is possible to save everyone at camp. I am currently writing this in my cabin at Camp No Blood. I am alone and staring at my clock which reads "Night" on it telling me that its safe to walk out if I want to. But I don't. I'm sorry If I am confusing you because I left off with me following a hooded guy carrying a guitar through New York City. I'll try to explain what happened the best I can.
I flew after the guy and transformed from bat form back into my human form. He halted as he heard my feet hit the ground. Turning around the man looked at me and stared. Not saying anything. I tilted my head and then used my night vision to try and see his face better.
It was Lex. Or at least it looked like Lex. The only problem was Lex should be flying overhead on the other side of New York City right about now. I shrugged it off at said "Hey Buddy".
"Hello, I flew over here hoping you would notice me. I found this." Said Lex holding out the guitar.
"What's so special about a guitar?" I asked.
"I'll show you. Follow me." Lex said as he turned around and started walking away.
I followed behind him until we eventually reached a store that had light and music coming out of it. It read ALIQTYU SMUIC. At least that's what it looked like with my dyslexia. (If you can guess correctly what it said I will put a character you create into the story)
I followed Lexington into the store and turned around as the door slammed quickly behind me. Lex turned around and said,
"This is where I found it. Notice anything?"
I glanced around and eventually saw a group of people huddled into a corner fast asleep.
"Whats wrong with those people? Why are they sleeping?" I asked
Lex looked into my eyes and said "Because they can't wake up. Trust me I have tried to shake them awake. I think its the first half of the spell. When I came in here I noticed that music was playing from every instrument except for this. I picked it up and played just one note. Everyone in the store just collapsed."
"I thought the first half was stolen." I said.
"It was. I'm just confused on how it ended up here." He said as he looked over my shoulder outside the shop and started to smile. "You should watch the time more often." Lex said. "Don't worry I didn't expect you to realize what was going on. This guitar isn't important at all as a matter of fact. It's useless."
I turned around and looked outside. The sky was starting to get lighter meaning it would soon be daytime. "Who are you?" I asked.
Lex laughed and said "I was sent to distract you while Vulgnum made the trade!"
I stepped back shocked. "Who's Vulgnum?" I asked. "Is he that thing? Who did he make the trade with?"
Lex laughed again and smiled even wider. Then his face literally disappeared. In its place there was a very smooth face. No eyes, hair, mouth nothing. Now I don't get scared often but this thing gave me the uncontrollable urge to run as fast as I could. As I ran out of the shop in panic of the thing that was behind me I didn't stop to look back. I could hear its creepy laugh getting louder and louder as I flew away from the shop. When I got far enough away from the area the laughter stopped and I had the ability to control my movement again. I was alone flying above New York City. I dove back down to street level and flew into a subway entrance to get away from the fast approaching sun. I sat down on the floor and thought about what I just saw. Something in the back of my brain reminded me of when we had to research Japanese history in school. We came across a creature called the Nopperabou. It was a mischievous creature who would imitate someone you knew to play tricks on you or just try to ruin your day. Then at the right moment its face would melt away revealing the head of Slenderman and then it would laugh much like the Happy Mask Salesman. It would send the person into a state of fear and cause them to run away.
Of course, none of this mattered now. Vulgnum now had the complete spell and would have the entire world at his control in a matter of hours. I had to find him and fast.
