R- Thank you! That's really nice of you to say!
No Depth- Yes, I know. That is one of the reasons why I am going back and revising this story. There are so many holes in the plot line plus, if your name suggests what you think about it, there's very little molding and depth. Don't worry, I have a huge story behind them that will be revealed as the chapters continue.
NO WAY: How's you know?! *puts on tinfoil hat to hide from psychic powers*
Omigosh: LOLZ! You make me laugh! XD
WOW:Here you go then, for you and Raeda2001! Also, good theory as well.
LeafWishes: Thank you so much! And here it is!
Raeda2001: Chapter with more pov's and answering reviews! It's all yours!
Chapter 20: Blackfur
The dark tom had watched Goldenfur's blasphemous procliomation though narrowed eyes, before hissing and spitting towards the end. How dare he!
Blackfur let out a violent string of insults, cursing the very ground that the golden tom walked upon. His black pelt was spiked with rage, and his claws were readily unsheathed as he let out a yowl of fury.
Many of his clanmates came to his side, hurling harsh words at Goldenfur's supporters. Blackfur felt a flash of satisfaction ignite in his chest. At least half of Thunderclan was with him.
"They are my kits! Greyleaf loves me you fox-heart!" He bellowed, lashing his tail in rage.
The blue-eyed tom glared at him for a moment, before averting his eyes elsewhere, obviously looking for something. Goldenfur leaped down from the deputy's rock, the place where Sparrowclaw now gave out the daily patrols, and started to speed towards the thorn tunnel.
"Mouse-heart! Come and fight me like a tom!" Blackfur roared, launching himself after the large golden cat.
Dust blew up from the wake of his powerful legs, and he easily ate up the distance between them. Blackfur snarled and prepared to leap on Goldenfur's back, but skidded to a stop when he spotted Greyleaf's motionless body.
He froze, fear creeping into his mind and clouding his vision. He stood there mutely as Goldenfur mouthed something and Fernfoot came running to his side. Lilytail and Bramblepelt soon joined them, slipping past Blackfur to get to Greyleaf.
All of his senses were dull. He couldn't hear, couldn't see, was barely able to smell. The world passed in a jumbled blur of colors.
No, not Greyleaf. Not Greyleaf not Greyleaf not Greyleaf...
Chapter 20: Goldenfur
Normally, Goldenfur would've growled at Blackfur's inactivity, but not today, not now. The golden tom had only noticed his dark-furred competitor after he had gotten Greyleaf into the nursery. The normally ever-present nusiance didn't follow him in to see his 'mate,' something that caused Goldenfur's agitation to grow.
Fernfoot laid Greyleaf gently into her nest, licking her head in a comforting gesture, but it was wasted on the grey she-cat's unconscious form. The two had been as close as sisters when they were apprentices, before Blackfur had come along and thrust himself between them.
"I hope she'll be okay," The brown she-cat's anxious voice floated over to him. Her big light green eyes were spread wide with worry in the darkness of the nursery.
"I hope so too," The tom replied.
"Mom!" "Mommy! Are you okay!" "What happened!?" The voices of his kits exploded in his ears, and Goldenfur turned to see the three five-moon-old's stumbling into the nursery. Greyleaf had insisted upon them calling her mother and other deviations of the word, even though clan cats usually addressed their parents by their given names.
Nightkit broke away from his sisters and bounded past the two older cats to reach his mother's side. He nuzzled his broad brown head into her neck fur and started to shake. Sobs could be heard coming from his throat, and Goldenfur was taken aback. The young tom rarely displayed this much emotion.
He pelt two fluffy pelts slip past him to join Nightkit. A gray form padded over to Greyleaf's stomach and curled up there, resting her head next to her mother's heart.
Goldenkit walked over to lick the grey she-cat's head, before turning back to Goldenfur, her lake-like eyes wide. "Do you think she'll be okay?"
Goldenfur just shook his head, unable to respond, before leaving to get Featherheart.
Chapter 20: Greyleaf
The world was hazy and full of mist, with rocks jutting out from nowhere, trying to herd her to someplace. Greyleaf padded along carefully, uneasy in her strange surroundings.
Something brushed up against her back.
Greyleaf whirled around, claws unsheathed, pelt spiked. She swiped a paw into the mist, meeting nothing but air.
The grey she-cat's breathing and heart rate sped up. Where am I? She backed up, only to find her progress cut short by the cold bite of stone. She jerked her head upwards, and realized in anguish that she was trapped. It was either stay here, backed up against the wall, or venture out into the gloom once again. She looked down.
Eyes glared out of the darkness.
Greyleaf froze. It was the eyes, those horrible, odious eyes. As she stared, not daring to take her eyes off of them, they split in to, multiplying until she was surrounded.
Greyleaf backed up against the stone, gasping in terror. The orbs swirled around her, getting closer and closer, the fog hiding their true form.
Greyleaf yowled in panic, trying to strike at the malicious eyes with her forepaws. She shrieked in pain as they crashed down upon her, their bodies shadows of evil.
The shadow-cats erupted into a cloud of black fog as soon as they made contact with the Thunderclan she-cat, battering her form with their explosive force.
She coughed and stumbled forward, bruises flaring up across her body, to fall forward on to her face. She laid there, shuddering, until she heard the sound of pawsteps nearby. Greyleaf lifted her frail head to see the jet pelt of Blackfur stalking towards her from many fox-lengths away.
"Blackfur, help me.." She called out weakly.
The tom ignored her. Flames of hatred burned in his eyes, glowering across the expanse across from him.
Greyleaf turned to pinpoint what he was looking at. Cats emerged from the murk, their shadows melding with the gloom. A bright shape stepped out ahead of them, it's eyes full of scorn.
Goldenfur.
The two toms roared at each other from across the gap, unearthly thunder blasting from their throats. More cats materialized from either side of the gap, snarling and spitting, claws fully unsheathed.
War was breaking out.
And Greyleaf was right in the middle of it.
The two toms let out fierce bellows and began to converge, pounding forward on enraged paws.
Greyleaf yowled in fright and dread, frozen between the two advancing forces. She closed her eyes, waiting for the bodies to collide and the fighting to start.
A brown form barreled into her, knocking her backwards.
She opened her green eyes just in time to see the figures of the battle flying away, growing smaller and smaller until she could no longer see the flash of claws and the sprays of blood.
As the grey she-cat was set back on her feet, she looked up to see her rescuer. Pinestar stood in front of her, his amber eyes unreadable in the dark shadows of this land.
Greyleaf looked around her. They were standing on the edge of a giant plateau of rock, the writhing bodies of the warring cats blurs below them.
"Thank you," She breathed, "You saved my li-" Her sentence was cut off in gasp of horror.
Pinestar's familiar form was transforming into a hideous beast. Long, dripping fangs jutted from his pelt, long and ragged, became clogged with the sticky ooze of blood. Enormous claws extended from his gigantic paws, and his eyes were stained crimson. They glared at her, their bloody depths speaking of nothing but loathing.
With a malicious laugh, Pinestar swung a monstrous paw and struck her across the face, sending her flying over the precipice.
Time seemed to slow down, and she watched his disfigured face howl in triumph as she fell. Down, down, down, down. Until...
Sooooooo, what do yall think? I wrote the Greyleaf part while listening to Comatose by Skillet, so it might seem a bit rushed or more rounded than the Goldenfur or Blackfur chapters.
Question Of The Chapter: What do you think will happen? Why is Greyleaf having these nightmares?
And now, a moment of silence, for those who died in 9/11
