unnamed: No, don't do it! You are loved! You are an amazing human being who is special and wonderful and beautifully made! And if your family can't see that, its their loss. You are amazing no matter what anyone says about you! Don't let anyone ever put you down, and don't put yourself down. Taking your own life is something irreversible. If you do it, you'll be gone forever. There is Someone out there who loves you so much that He died for you. He came to this broken, hate-filled earth to give His life so that you could live. His name is Jesus Christ, and I swear by the name of God and all things good in this world that He is just waiting for you to come to Him. You don't ever have to feel like you don't belong, or that you're not perfect because God thinks you're perfect just the way you are. He made you, and He loves you. So please, if not for Him, than for me and those out there whose lives you have and will touch, don't commit suicide! If you do, you'll never know what could have been.
To anyone out there reading this who may know unnamed or others like him/her, please show them the love and compassion that they need! Please don't ignore them or make fun of them, or be mean to them. What they really need is someone to love and care for them, and unnamed, though I don't know who you are, know that I am actually and truly praying for you, and that I'm seriously crying right now thinking that I spoke too late and you're already gone.
Chapter 36: Goldenfur
Time seemed to slow as she fell, the wind rippling her fur. All was silent, the noise muted, as she started to dissapear, bit by bit. He was helpless to do anything, for what seemed like hours to him was only mere seconds in reality. She gave him one last, soft smile and closed her eyes as her head dissapeared over the brink.
A flash of color flew by Goldenfur's vision.
The Shadowclan leader, Pinestar, materialized in front of the Thunderclan tom's eyes, his large-muscled body finding footholds in the rocks with ease. Goldenfur gasped at the sight, for it was a miracle to him. There was only one problem...
He was hanging over the edge.
"Someone grab my tail!" The amber-eyed cat hissed, his voice slightly muffled as he scrabbled backwards on his hind legs, for his upper body was completely over the cliff edge.
Goldenfur, realizing that this cat could die, jumped forward and grabbed hold. Nightpaw, Sparrowpaw, and Goldenpaw quickly followed him, fastening their teeth and claws into his thick-skinned pelt to get a hold before pulling back with all their might.
Blood started oozing from the leader's pelt, but if he noticed it, he didn't care. With a mighty growl, he hoisted a grey form up and over the lip of the cliff, his teeth fastened to its scruff.
Pinestar let go and hissed, "What we're you thinking, Greyleaf!... I—I could have lost you," he softly mewed, burying his broad head into her shoulder.
So this was the disreputable mate Fernfoot had been talking about. Goldenfur opened his mouth to spit a harsh insult at the Shadowclan cat, but he was cut off by Nightpaw's enraged yowl. "What were you thinking, mom! Do you have bees in your brain! You're acting crazier than a fox in a fit!"
"Yeah," Goldenpaw added, her pelt still fluffed up from the shock, "What in the name of Starclan is going on!?"
Greyleaf shook, whimpers and sobs racking her body. "It's all my fault," she whispered, "They're all dead...because of me. If I hadn't...if I had just..." She broke out in more agonizing bawls.
"Shh, shh," Pinestar soothed, gently licking her between the ears. "It's okay. It's not your fault."
"NO!" She shot away from him, tears streaming down her face. "It is my fault! If I hadn't kept secrets, if I just hadn't gone... why did I do it?" She looked at the dark brown tom with wide, pleading eyes, her whole countenance that of a defeated cat.
Pinestar sighed and took a pawstep forward. She flinched back, but didn't make any other move as he took the last few steps towards her. She collapsed her head onto his shoulder as he laid a paw over hers.
"I—I just can't lie to them anymore," she murmured.
Goldenfur watched as Pinestar puled back and looked her in the eyes. "Then don't."
Greyleaf took a deep breath and backed away from him. "Nightpaw, Goldenpaw, Sparrowpaw," she mewed, "Goldenfur isn't your father...Pinestar is."
Nightpaw nodded, eyeing the leader nonchalantly. Goldenpaw let out a bit of a gasp, but shot her namesake a withering glance that made it clear she was glad to not be related to him—which hurt Goldenfur deep down, even though he knew now that she wasn't really his. Sparrowpaw remained a optimistic as ever, and she bounced up and down with a big smile on her face, saying, "Yaaaaayyy! Hi daddy! I'm Sparrowpaw!"
Pinestar chuckled and replied with a kind smile, "Hi, Sparrowpaw, it's nice to finally meet you."
"Hi hi hi!" She answered, still jumping up and down, her plumy tail fluffy and large behind her small, little body.
"A—and Goldenfur," Greyleaf quavered, padding up to him and burying her head in his chest, "You—you've always been more than a friend."
Goldenfur was taken back, and tears started to cloud his eyes. She was telling the truth, and so should he. "Greyleaf, I—I love you," he finally whispered.
Chapter 36: Pinestar
Pinestar saw Greyleaf gasp and her emerald green eyes widen. If he had been with her this entire time, he would be inclined to be angry. But Goldenfur had been there for Greyleaf when he wasn't. Pinestar respected that.
And it wasn't like it was hard to fall in love with her.
The light grey she-cat took another deep breath and backed away from Goldenfur to stand by her kits. "I—I'm sorry I never told you," she sobbed, sitting down in front of them.
"It's okay, mommy," Sparrowpaw mewed, snuggling close to her.
"I understand why you didn't tell us," Goldenpaw said, sitting down as well, "I don't know what I would've done if I'd been in your place."
Nightpaw, silent since his previous outburst, just shrugged. Pinestar couldn't help but notice how much his son acted like himself. He caught the younger tom's eye and smiled questioningly. The gray-brown apprentice just raised a brow as if to say, "What're you asking me for?"
Pinestar took that as a sign that he could speak. "No, Greyleaf. It isn't your fault. If I had just followed the rules and left you alone, then none of this would've happened." She turned around to look at him and protest, but he cut her off before she could say a word. "It's my fault, and I take full blame."
"No," Goldenfur suddenly mewed, "The whole reason we're in this mess is because of Fernfoot."
"Fernfoot?" Pinestar, Greyleaf, and the apprentices exclaimed at the same time.
"Yeah, Fernfoot," Goldenfur spat, rage lacing his voice, "She poisoned Greyleaf with herbs that would make her unstable and slip into a coma. She's been watching us this whole time. She knew everything."
Pinestar thought back to that night in the hollow, when he thought he'd seen a flash of eyes in the darkness. There apparently had been someone watching him that night, and that someone had hurt Greyleaf!
"Where is she now!" He growled, unsheathing his claws and looking around the wide, bush dotted cliff-top.
Goldenfur smirked. "She's probably trying to figure out how to walk around, now that she has no whiskers."
Greylef gasped. "You—you cut her whiskers off?!"
The bright-pelted tom furrowed his brow and gave her a look. "Would you rather I'd have killed her?"
The she-cat shook her head, eyes wide.
Nightpaw hissed, lip curled. "The dungfaced she-cat got what was coming to her."
"Agreed," Pinestar said, walking over to his son and mate. He put his tail around her and asked, "But what do we do now?"
"We could go back home!" Sparrowpaw meowed, not even really paying attention to the gravity of the conversation as she pawed at her tail playfully.
Goldenfur shook his head. "No, we can't. Fernfoot's there."
Pinestar paused for a moment before saying, "You could join Shadowclan, I would make sure that my clan gives you the best treatment possible—"
"YOU'RE BRINGING THEM TO SHADOWCLAN!"
An enraged yowl suddenly broke through their conversation, and a calico she-cat jumped out of a nearby patch of bushes.
Cedarheart.
In all the panic and commotion, Pinestar hadn't noticed she was there.
"Cedarhear—" he tried to explain, but she cut him off.
"You fox-hearted fool!" she screamed, "Your the leader, and you broke the code! And for a mangy Thunderclan she-cat!" She glared him down, claws unsheathed and teeth bared. "How dare you! And to think I loved you!"
Before anyone could so much as open their mouths, she was speeding off back towards the clans.
Pinestar had no choice but to follow her.
As he scrambled down the slope of the cliff and ran after his clan-mate, he heard five sets of paws thrumming behind him. The others apparently thought that following was a good idea. Pinestar agreed. They needed to hear what Cedarheart was going to say.
They chased her as far as the twoleg bridge, only stopping to hide beneath it where they could hear the voices of the clan cats at the confused gathering.
"Pinestar has betrayed us!" The broken voice of Cedarheart yowled, "He's broken the code and taken a mate from Thunderclan!"
Gasps of horror and disbelief rang through the crowd. A few, "No"s and "It can't be"s could he heard, and then Cedarheart made it even worse.
"And they've had three kits! They're almost warriors! This could ruin the clans!"
"EXILE!" Ravenclaw's deep voice howled, and Goldenfur visibly stiffened beside Pinestar, his blue eyes narrowing dangerously.
"Traitor!" another cat yowled.
"Imposter!"
"Hypocrite!"
"Deserter!"
The cacophony of angry clan cat voices rose higher and higher until it was an discordant uproar of fury. Paws started pounding on the bridge above them, and the group knew that they had to run, or they'd be trapped.
They took their chance and bolted.
"GET THEM!" Cedarheart screeched, and dozens upon dozens of cats were soon on their heels, snapping and hissing furiously.
Pinestar ran for his life.
The clan cats—who, by the sound of things, were mostly comprised of Shadowclan cats—pursued them all the way into the mountain territory, chasing relentlessly until the five cats were well out of the clan territories.
"AND STAY THERE!" Ravenclaw roared at them, the sun rising behind his dark back, before turning to his clan-mates and ordering, "Let's go."
The enraged Shadowclan cats followed him, huffing and puffing, with the cats from other clans accompanying them as well.
"Well," Pinestar said, looking out at the looming mountains, "I guess going back is not an option."
"We can only go forward," Nightpaw mewed, taking the first step. The others followed soon after him, preparing themselves to brave the unknown lands beyond.
