Sweet Serendipity
Chapter Six : Silent Cries
Despite every fibre of her being that begged, pleaded, and prayed with her to just let the entire thing go, the smallest sliver of humanity and sensitivity made her second guess her morals.
What if he was dieing? What if he was hurt? What if there was nothing bad that was going to happen to her and she was just meant to help him? What if she left him in fear of what could not happen, and he died for her mistake? What if he had a family he needed to take care of? What if his wife was at home with his baby worrying about him because he'd come home late from work?
Or what if he was a criminal? What if she would have been doing a good thing just leaving him there? What if he'd been beaten up by someone he'd tried to rob? Or someone he'd tried to rape? What if he deserved to lay there and die? What if he was just another scumbag?
So many questions and doubts plagued her mind at once as she finally succumbed to the death sentence that rang through her ears and dashed across the road to the alleyway where the man lay face down on the cold cement.
Kneeling down by his side, she cringed slightly before slowly extending her hand to prod his shoulder. He was solid, strong… his shoulder felt like it'd been carved from stone. He was obviously well built, and tall… if it was true, she'd been right and he had been beaten and left for dead, then the perpetrator of the crime was definitely not someone to be messed with.
"Sir?" her strained voice choked out as she prodded him again, as once more he failed to move under her attempts. Pressing two fingers to the vein just behind his jaw bone and his ear, her panic increased when she felt no pulse beneath her fingers. "Please don't be dead sir. Please, please, please for the love of all that is holy don't be dead…" she begged as she used all her strength to flip the man over onto his back. Ignoring the unnerving feeling she felt at the sight of his pale skin and blonde hair, dread pooled in the pit of her stomach as she finally got him onto his back to irately recognize the face that belonged to the man that had plagued so many of her restless nights.
The same strong jaw, smooth skin, and devilishly handsome face greeted her that constantly haunted her dreams. With that realization, her breath caught in her throat as she gasped and fell back, landing on her tail bone as she scattered away from the stranger until she hit the brick wall of the building behind her. Tears fell from her eyes as she tried to stifle her sobs beneath her hand so as to not wake the man lying before her. How could he, of all people, be the one she'd find? Looking so handsome and innocent when every thought that entered her mind would just lead to feelings of fear and dread? How could he be such a monster, when he looked so innocent with his eyes closed and peaceful before her?
Swallowing her sobs and wiping away her tears, she took a few deep breaths before slowly pushing herself up to her feet using the wall behind her as leverage. The fear was choking away her breaths, and what air she could take in entered her lungs in ragged gasps. Terrified that she would wake the sleeping tyrant, she tried to silently depart from the alleyway back to the public street. After only advancing a few feet, she turned to check on the body behind her as she practically broke down then and there when she turned to find the body no where in sight.
It couldn't be a dream. The terror, the fright, the panic, the body… it was all too frightening, it was all too life like and real to be an illusion.
Without another thought, her legs instinctively pushed her body hurtling towards the main road until she crashed into a rock solid body standing directly in her way.
Petrified, her head whipped towards the source of her blocked path only to find herself thrown backwards in fear as her legs practically collapsed beneath her.
Once more her body crawled backwards away from his figure as she took less than a second to size him up in person. He was lean, well built beneath the coverage of his clothing, and he was even more attractive in person that her dreams ever could have imagined. He was tall, towering over Alice at around six and a half feet tall compared to her pixie like four-eleven frame, and she could practically feel his blood red eyes pierce straight through to her soul. "You- you…"
"Alice Brandon…" he stated as she shivered while her name rolled off his tongue, a disconcerting smirk etching it's way onto his face as he watched her reaction to his voice.
"Who- who are you?" her quaking voice asked only just above a whisper as she tried to get to her feet, her legs feelings like jello beneath her as he watched her with his piercing gaze.
"Don't stutter darlin', it's not flattering on ya." he practically ordered as he stalked towards her, taking a sick sadistic pleasure in watching her panic in fear and shrink back away trying to escape him. Her smell was even more so intoxicating in person, the pulse of her blood was alluring and addicting underneath that soft skin that covered her body. He grinned as his eyes raked over her small cowering body. Peter was right, she was beautiful. Despite being wrapped in unflattering clothing, and trying to hide herself from the world beneath the visor of her baseball cap, her eyes tired and her skin slightly drawn from lack of nutrition… Jasper was sure he'd never seen someone so beautiful.
She was young, seventeen. Understandably celibate, which was detectable based on the sweet after taste of her blood. Her body was thin, he could tell based on her tight spandex pants, and the bagginess of her sweater. Her chest was small, but remembering the pictures Peter had shown him before, he grinned at the perfectly proportional size of her chest and hips to her size, noticeable in her previous high school's cheer leading uniforms. She was well formed, not overly curvy for her size, but enough so she didn't resemble the twelve year old figure most thin and short girls did.
Alice, on the other hand, shivered under his gaze, and felt her lunch threatening to make a reappearance as his cocky smirk only widened slightly.
"What do you w-want?" she asked backing up even further down the alleyway as the stranger continued his stalking towards her.
"I've been looking for you for a while now, darlin'. Had everyone I know searchin' for your pretty face." he stated as her breathing caught as images of Charlotte and the man that had taken her family award from her clouding her vision as she tried to find even a lick of courage in her overall being. "For a little human, you were quite difficult to track down, love…" he stated with a small scoff while shaking his head.
"Who are you?!" she all but yelled at him as his previous grin turned to one of malicious intent while his red eyes shown painfully crimson in the setting sun's last rays.
"You, sweetheart, will not speak to me using that tone." he hissed as Alice's heart jumped in her throat.
Between the shock, panic and fear, something familiar coursed through her as her body protested with her brain at every thought and decision she made. Like some internal battle was practically ripping at her very core.
But the only logical thought that seemed to process in her mind, was the decision to make a run for it.
Scouting the other end of the alley, in a split second she took off running towards what she only prayed would be her salvation as her breathing became laboured.
The lack of footsteps behind her only fuelled her hope for escape as she was within stepping distance from the road when an ice cold rock hard grip dragged her back and slammed her against one of the brick walls lining the alley. Hard enough to make a point, but not to hard to do any real damage.
Before she even had time to register what had happened, he was there, standing less than four inches away from her as his body pinned hers to the wall behind her. She could feel ever part of his muscular body pressing against her, and she fought the bile rise in her at the thought of what could follow. Despite her best efforts to escape, nothing she did loosened his hold on her as she froze when she felt his ice like lips and nose graze over the skin at the nape of her neck while her breathing hitched. Taking a deep inhalation of air, Alice squirmed beneath him as he groaned in pleasure at what she assumed was the scent of her.
She remembered vividly the dream she'd had before. The painstaking feeling of him drawing the life from her veins as he mouth attacked her neck.
"And here I thought this was going to be easy. Oh I'm so glad you don't dissapoint darlin'… you're just as feisty as they said you'd be." he smirked against her as her eyes shut and her head jutted away from his cold lips.
"Let me go! What do you want from me?!" she demanded as the tears began to leak from her eyes.
Shushing her like a lover would quieten his sweetheart, he rose a cold hand to wipe away her tears as a low chuckle vibrated through his chest. "Oh love…".
"Please…" she begged as he chuckled darkly once more and leant down to stare into her eyes. His deep red ones, now pooling with lust, hunger, and possessiveness, meeting her deep pooling brown orbs.
"I won't hurt you darlin'… at least not yet….. I've got big plans for you sweetheart."
OHHHH SHIT!
so Jasper finally got to his little la tua cantante... it was harder than I thought would be to figure out how to write them meeting. and the explanation as to why he ended up in the alley will be provided later.
hope you enjoyed!
let me know what you think!
deltagirl74 - lol... soooo not so nice when they first meet. but maybe things will change? you just never know ;p lol hahaha
TheVioletContradiction - aww, thanks! really sorry you're not okay with the swearing, but regretfully that's how I've envisioned this story. It's kind of the back bone to Jasper/The Major to prove how he's not just gonna be walked over. Sorry you don't like it, and if you choose to discontinue reading I'm sorry, but I respect your decision and I understand
Guest - why thank youuu!
FallenAshe - ohhh... not the tracker but the MAJORRR! what whaatttt! hahaha hope you enjoyed it ;) and much more to come
A.N. - so I'm considering changing this story to M for Jasper's... select language. what do you people think? I'd hate for people to read it as a T-rated story and get the wrong idea thinking that there'll be no swearing, but I'd really like my reader's opinions if you guys could let me know!
Happy Olympics 2014!
