And on with the show
As always I do not own. Though it would be nice. Very nice.

Thanx Eternal Dreamer for the heads up. Wasn't you. Don't know why that happened.

What type of mission was this, Kurt found himself wondering as they all stood in the Study dressed in the same clothes they had arrived in. On order from Professor Xavier they had all herded into the barely used room instead of getting dressed in their uniforms and heading into the hanger room ready to fly out to who knows were to do who knows what. The only thing Kurt could think about was that they were not fighting the Brotherhood, something that he was quite happy about despite the hour.
So what was so urgent that they needed to be here?
Perk to this late night/early morning mission, however. They did not have to go to class in the morning. Sharing a look with Bobby, the ice mutant had a wide smirk on his face all too aware of this fact. It was soon wiped off when the Professor glanced their way clearly not amused by their train of thought.
Man, there's no keeping anything from that dude is there? Kurt had remembered Evan asking himself out loud at one point or another when it came to the eldest mutant in the room. Truthfully Kurt had a hard time not wondering if the bald male was not partially psychic as well. It was clear he was privy to nearly everything they did let alone thought around the institute breaking up what would have been on multiple occasions some of the best pranks Bobby, Evan, and he could have possibly pulled.
Clearing his throat the small murmur in the room had died down to silence as Professor Xavier spoke.
"I am sure you are all wondering why I called you here so early." Looking from one face to the next Xavier's brown eyes landed on Scott before he continued speaking, the optic blast user standing just slightly taller at the attention. "There are matters that have arisen which need urgent attention. They are all quite delicate matters."
"Whatever you need Professor."
Rogue had to hold herself from rolling her eyes at the older brunet. Leave it to him to play suck up so early in the morning. Personally she would have thought Jean to be the one to speak although clearly by the still visible frown line between the redhead's brows she was still pissed from whatever fight her and Scott had gotten into beforehand. Really, Rogue didn't care just as long as the two kept whatever it was between them.
Professor Xavier motioned to the far wall where Jordan stood leaning against the fire place, a crack appearing just between the wall above the mantle. Seconds later it pulled apart revealing a wall monitor clearly none of them knew existed. The screen flickered on to a dark grey screen where soon pictures of a brain scan and other graphs popped up in the corners. The silhouette of a person appeared on the screen to the left side whilst the bust of a head appeared to the right.
About to ask what was going on Kitty stopped on seeing the silhouette and bust fill in to form the features of the person.
It was just a little girl. A little girl whom could be no more than eight, maybe nine years of age with deep brown eyes and pale skin. She had wavy strawberry blonde hair that refused to stay in the tie her hair was thrown back into, a soft smile on her features. Aw, she's like, so adorable, Kitty found herself thinking before realization caught up with her. This little angle was a mutant, just like them and if she was on the watch list then…Kitty's heart sank.
"Her name is Sarah Bradley," Professor Xavier spoke gaining everyone's attention minus one. Jordan's eyes had stayed locked on the monitor, a hard frown drawn upon his face as he stood with his massive arms crossed. "Nine year old mutant she's been showing signs here and there of a manifestation of her powers but until tonight it hasn't been this strong."
"And you want us to go and meet with the family." It was Scott who asked, their team leader taking charge as everyone's attention had become divided.
"No," Professor Xavier spoke up turning himself to face the team.
This drew confusion amongst the students as they waited patiently for the Professor to continue.
"I received a call from the girl's mother over thirty minutes ago saying she ran away from home. Her father's out at the moment trying to locate her with no luck. Jordan, Rogue, Kitty, and Kurt. You four will be going to the town of Canton and find her."
Kurt could only imagine what was going through Jordan's mind as his face darkened at the news of the child having gone missing. He hadn't so much as moved since Professor X had first started speaking and now that the psychic was leading on this mission he was, if possible, standing stiff enough to be mistaken for a statue.
Almond shaped eyes narrowing to near slits, Jordan's deep baritone voice sounded through the large study. "Do you have an exact location?" He hadn't looked away from the screen yet.
Ignoring Jordan's obvious discomfort about the mission Charles folded his hands together before calmly placing them upon his lap. "It's tricky to say where exactly. She's been moving none stop since I've been tracking her although she is still somewhere not too far outside the city. I have printed out a copy of the directions you can plug directly into your GPS-"
"You've never had this hard of a time tracking someone before Professor."
Professor X placed his hand in the air haltingly at Scott who was about to speak out against Jordan's harsh tone. The elder mutant knew very well why Jordan was short with him at the moment accusation clear in his eyes. The psychic was being consumed by worry though he was trying hard not to show it. "She seems to be a different case altogether."
"What has it manifested as?" This question had come from Jean who for the majority of the discussion had remained silent. Green eyes darted between the Professor and Jordan, it clear to Kurt that she was having a quick internal conversation with both males. Jordan visibly deflated albeit slightly as Professor Xavier answered Jean's question.
"Apparently from what her mother spoke of, Sarah has taken on quite the form. A red humanoid lizard from what I gather. It would be best to not spook the child." Turning his attention back to Jordan the Professor nodded his head. "I shouldn't have to say much that you will be acting leader on this mission."
With one last glance at the monitor Jordan pealed himself away from the mantle. Slate-blue eyes wandered to each face of his four man team before they fell onto Charles. "Yes sir." Nodding his head to the younger mutants Jordan began to leave the room. "Let's go."
It was a nice ranch styled house plopped on a flat of land with acres upon acres of yard encompassing both sides. Jordan had made an offhand comment about it reminding him of some horror film or another before pulling into the long gravel filled drive sectioned off by deserted horse pens.
Parking his SUV next to the small red sedan in the drive, Jordan cut off the engine before glancing at the passengers in his cab. "Get
out."
Piling out of the car Kitty, Rogue, and Kurt all followed Jordan to the door wondering why he had decided to stop at Sarah's home first knowing the little girl had been missing for by now longer than an hour. Besides, it was possible she had moved far from the GPS coordinates the Professor had given. Time was of the essence if they wanted to find her at all.
Kurt knew he and the others were still trying to get used to Jordan's style of leadership, the slate-blue eyed male never one for following directions given to a 'T' like Scott and Jean. No matter, he always managed to get the job done.
Bypassing the use of a doorbell Jordan knocked heavily at the door, enough to put a hole in the wood in Kitty's opinion, waiting but a few seconds before banging again ignoring the mixed annoyed look he was receiving from Rogue and Kurt. It wasn't like he was disrupting any neighbors.
The door burst open revealing a graying brunet, probably in his early forties, clean shaven, with narrowed dark brown eyes rimmed in red. He was a large man taller than Jordan by just an inch or so resembling an oak tree, an imposing figure at the door with ramrod posture and a scowl upon his features. Military man. Jordan would recognize the crew cut and posture anywhere though the visible dog tags would be a dead giveaway. He fought the urge to fix his own posture though the scowl settling onto his own features Jordan did not fight. "Who are you?" The male barked out slamming his hand none too gently against the door frame making Kitty jump.
Before Jordan or Rogue could open their mouths, features darkening the moment the male had stepped foot past the threshold, a quieter more feminine voice sounded within the abode.
"I called them honey." Soon a woman appeared, Kitty automatically seeing where the little girl had gotten her wavy strawberry blonde hair, though greying. Pulling her larger husband aside with ease she proceeded to wave the small group into her home, a small yet sad smile upon her face as she closed the door. "Please come in. Xavier's student's right?"
"Yes Ma'am." Jordan's features relaxed on talking to the little girl's mother. "Katherine Pride, An-Rogue," Jordan corrected though he didn't flinch at the heavy elbow he received to the ribs by the amber haired female, "Kurt Wagner, and I'm Jordan Moss. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Clara and Eugene-"
"We don't need you here," Eugene spoke interrupting his wife. Moving towards the door he opened it in sign for the students to leave.
"You or your people."
"Eugene, close the door." Clara proceeded to take her husband once again by the arm, leading him out of the foyer and into the living room. He didn't fight her the whole time as he sat down on the sofa with a heavy sigh running his hand though short grey peppered hair. "Please," she motioned for the group to sit, everyone taking up residence on the opposite sofa except Jordan whom opted to stand.
The house, from what Kurt could see, was well furnished. Little porcelain figures sitting on shelves lined with photos of the happy family. Photos lined the walls leading to what the blue haired male could presume as the kitchen traveling up the wall leading to upstairs with painting breaking up the warm scenes. Amongst all of this were medals and trophies, a flag case sitting on the mantle just to the left of them. Even without the heat going at full blast he could tell this was a warm house.
A twinge of longing hit in the bottom of Kurt's stomach as he thought of his own family back in Germany. He hadn't written or called them at all the past month what with everything going on. Looking around the room, it made him want to take out his phone and call right now but it wasn't the time. He'd do it later.
"Do you ah, do you want something to drink or…" Clara trailed off nervously pushing some of her hair behind her ear. It was clear the mother was distraught with good reason. Her daughter was out who knows were by herself in the cold. Any concerned parent would be worried.
"No thank you Ma'am," Jordan spoke, his usually gruff voice toned down into something less like the rude male he tended to be but not at all warm and jovial. It was by far different listening to him talk to the parents over Scott, Jean, or even Sawyer whom would be as sympathetic as possible.
"Why are you here? Now of all times?"
Kurt could hear the accusation in the elder male's voice. As if them, mutant instead of the police, coming sooner would have made any small difference in their daughter's life. That maybe if they hadn't come the reality of what their daughter was wouldn't seem so real. But life couldn't be that easy or that fair. The German male knew this as he played with the watch around his wrist.
"We got the call from your wife Sir. And personally it's a good thing she did so. It ensures that Sarah's found. No offence," Jordan continued effectively cutting off the emotionally driven male whom looked ready to blow a fuse. "But if she's as scared as we think then not even a search team will find her. Not in the time it would take to make sure she's safe."
"And what makes you think you can?" Standing up Eugene brushed off his wife's hand, obviously trying to calm him down, before making a step for Jordan. The psychic didn't back down.
"We already have her location pinned to about a few miles away from your house, about ten away from the city. And by the look on your face you didn't get that far."
"She's nine. How far can she walk?"
Turning his attention to Clara who posed the question, the soft look entered Jordan's features yet again. "With the proper motivation about thirteen miles. And she ran."
Kurt, Kitty, and Rogue all looked at Jordan at this bit of information. He hadn't said anything to them about that. Then again he hadn't said anything directly to them other than telling them to get out of the vehicle since they made the little trip.
"Psychic," the male supplied to the curious look he was receiving from Clara.
Bringing the conversation where it needed to go Rogue spoke up. "Mutations generally allow one to do things none mutants wouldn't normally be able to." She could see there was some lingering confusion as to how their daughter could have gotten so far in such a short time. If she began to wonder about just what her daughters mutation was then she'd be barking up the wrong tree. Professor Xavier hadn't given much as to what Sarah could do clearly not sure himself.
"How exactly do you expect to find our daughter?"
Cutting in before Jordan could rile up the father more than he was already, Kitty spoke forward with a reassuring smile plastered onto her face. "Can you walk us through what happened?" It wasn't much answer to his question but they needed to stop whatever battle Jordan and the father were adamant on having before someone got hurt.
Brown bloodshot eyes flashed to Kitty, the upbeat female internally congratulating herself for not jumping clear out of her skin at the look. "How is that going to solve anything? She's out there-"
"Sir," Kitty said in a placating manner doing her best to keep her voice level. She could see Rogue and Jordan were getting visibly short with the male which was never a good sign. Both her friends were known for their short tempers though Rogue at least knew when to reel it in at most times. "I can understand you're frustrated and scared but the longer you fight us in giving answers the longer she-"
"What do you know? What do any of you know? You're just a bunch of kids yourself?"
Jordan's face went blank as he stared passively at Eugene. "I have a five year old daughter." Eugene's mouth snapped shut as he scrutinized the twenty one year old in front of him. Taking the male's silence as a sign to continue Jordan did so placing a hand on the back of the sofa he stood next to. "I know you want to be out there looking for her but you are going to have to trust we will bring Sarah back to you. Safe, and unharmed. Now what. Happened?"
Clara went into the tail of earlier that night. How they had just put their two children to bed hours before when they heard a commotion from upstairs. They had found Sarah half transformed and wide eyed trembling in the middle of the hallway. They had thought it was a nightmare, trying to coax the little girl back to bed ignoring the change in her appearance as not to startle her further. It hadn't helped any as she went into a full blown panic changing the rest of the way into her humanoid form.
"That's our little Bumblebee." By now Eugene had made his way back to the sofa sitting down next to his wife. He had gathered her into his arms resting his chin on her hair as she recounted the story, their hands clasped together.
Everything had snowballed from there as the frightened child proceeded to escape the house though she had apparently injured her mother accidently on the way out. Kurt hadn't noticed till now the bulge in Clara's shirt just at her bicep. "Sarah didn't mean to," Clara spoke trying to keep the tears that collected at the corner of her hazel eyes at bay. "She was scared, I don't know about what but my baby…I've never seen her so upset before."
"She didn't say a word," Eugene spoke up after a moment. All fight had left his voice as he squeezed his wife's hand rubbing her wrist with his thumb. "Just ran away. I've been looking for the past hour but-" Eugene stopped suddenly overcome with emotion. Stealing himself he continued. "She could be hurt out there. People. They're not open. The police wouldn't understand."
"Why did he send you?"
Why not come himself? Kurt heard in Clara's words.
"Kurt here knows what it's like to look different from others."
Kurt whipped his head towards Jordan direction, a dark scowl on his face. He wanted to tell the male to shut up but Eugene had already spoke, skepticism back in his voice.
"I'm sure-"
Jordan cut the elder male off. "He'd relate more to your daughter. Holographic watch."
Kurt, for the first time in a while wished the sofa would open up and swallow him whole as he felt everyone's eyes on him. He felt slightly if not fully betrayed by Jordan for putting him out there for the parents like some side show. Despite what they were going through he was not comfortable revealing himself to strangers and the psychic knew this. He didn't like being pushed into 'accepting himself with all his fuzzy glory'. He already did. It was everyone else whom had the problem.
Apparently he wasn't the only one on that thought path as Rogue's voice entered everyone's head. She did not sound happy in the
least. /Jordan why would you-/
Rolling his eyes Jordan crossed his arms over his chest. /The only person who's freaking out right now is the elf./ He nodded his head over to Kurt who only scowled harder.
/What if they-/
/They won't./
/You don't know that./ This was Kitty whom spoke now having turned her body to get a better view of her friends. "Excuse us for a moment," the preppy teen spoke to Clara and Eugene before returning her attention to the matter at hand.
/Do I?/ Jordan raised a brow not amused in the least.
Rogue crossed her arms over her chest raising her brows in challenge. /Your premonitions aren't always correct./
Turning to look back at Kurt, Jordan placed a large hand on the male's shoulder. It was by far less comforting than when any of the others did so but this was Jordan. He didn't actively touch anyone less he wanted to convey an emotion he rarely showed. /Do you trust me?/
Blinking back in surprise Kurt cocked his head to the side. /What has that got to do with the price of tea in Japan?/
Jordan's expression went blank yet again. /Would I really let anything happen to you?/
/No…/ Oh. /Fine. But if they come after me with pitchforks I'm teleporting you into the middle of the Atlantic./
"I learned how to swim over the summer," Jordan said out loud with a smug smile on his face. "You're up."
Swallowing hard Kurt returned his attention back to Sarah's parents both with looks of mixed amusement and annoyance, more so Eugene, as they patiently waited for well. They didn't know what but it had to have been important if the students had taken a little intermission to talk amongst themselves.
Kurt would like to believe that they were more open than most about things as sensitive as oh say, a young man sitting in their living room that was covered from head to toe in blue fur. Their daughter apparently turned into some form of human lizard yet that meant nothing when it was someone who wasn't your own flesh and blood.
Taking a deep breath to steady his heartbeat, ramming staccato into his chest Kurt reached over to press the button on his inducer. And paused.
"Before I…Just remember that it's still me just more…me." Taking another deep breath this time Kurt pressed the button not allowing himself the time to talk himself out of it.
"Oh, my," Clara said dropping her husband's hand. "You're…blue." Though the husbands eyes were unreadable Kurt could see something in Clara's that eased his racing heart. Kurt was hoping he wasn't reading her emotions wrong, hope shimmering in her eyes.
"Do all mutants do that or is it just…Well…" She looked from Kurt to Kitty, Rogue, then back to Kurt.
"Some," Jordan spoke up clapping Kurt on the back as he pressed the button once again on his inducer. "I'm sure the Professor explained everything the last time you met about genetics."
"Yes. Something about an X-gene."
"The mutation will manifest itself in different ways and sometimes not at all. When it's triggered normally there's a high stress occurrence-"
"You saying we caused this?" Eugene's anger was back in full swing for just a second before Clara took a hold of his hand rubbing circles into his palm.
"No sir," Jordan spoke, Kurt finally able to place the tone behind the honorific. It was sarcasm, which to Kurt's credit was always hard to tell when the male wasn't being his usual self. "What we believe is that she could have just been upset over something, anything. And right now she's frightened."
"And how exactly are you supposed to help?"
"As mentioned earlier, I have a daughter a few years younger than Sarah. I'm pretty sure she knows all about stranger danger so it'll be a bit hard to talk to someone as young as her. I'm even more sure that the stuffed animal you have sitting next to you would help even that much more. Association with something familiar can be key. Mr. Mumford?"
"How did you know that?" Clara asked looking from the stuffed animal on the sofa's arm rest to Jordan. It took a few seconds but then the woman finally understood. "Psychic. Right."
"It's her favorite toy," Eugene supplied reaching over his wife to take up the orange stuffed toy, its bow slightly frayed from age.
"She hardly goes anywhere without it," Clara added, a sad wistful look morphing onto her face. "Even at her age."
"Reminds me of Ileana," Jordan spoke reaching for his wallet. Taking out the black leather money holder he produced a picture from its folds before walking over to the couple handing it to them. A warm smile spread across Clara's face, even Eugene relaxing for that moment.
/It amazes me how human he can be./ Rogue spoke to both Kitty and Kurt her grey eyes on Jordan the whole while he interacted one on one with the parents.
/I know what you mean/ Kitty spoke through the link.
"She never leaves the house without this stuffed whale her uncle bought her."
Kurt just continued to watch the scene. Jordan's face had lost all hardness as he had taken the picture back from Clara.
"She's beautiful." Clara clasped her husband's hands just a bit harder, words that she wanted to say not reaching her lips.
"Thank you."
"Do you…Do you ever worry?"
About what she may become?
"If that time ever comes she'll have the best support system anyone could ask for." Jordan turned to face his friends before continuing, his eyes drifting back to the parents. "And so will your daughter if and when she wants to come to the school. Professor Xavier really does help. May I?" This question was directed at Eugene whom clutched the stuffed fox in his large hand before holding it out to Jordan.
It was like some secret agreement had been passed between both males, two fathers before Jordan stood and headed to the door. He didn't bother beckoning his group knowing they would soon get the hint. It was time to go.
"We'll find your daughter Ma'am."
"Just bring her back home. Please."
-xXxoOoxXx-
"How's that coming for you?" Rogue asked trying for once and failing miserably at keeping her annoyance at bay. It wasn't Jordan's fault that they were out in the middle of a town she would rather not be in at an ungodly hour whilst freezing. Okay so it was his fault that they hadn't taken the SUV he opting to ditch it just as they had gotten into city limits, but everything else could be pinned on the little girl, well no. More like the horrible situation Sarah found herself in, for whatever reason choosing to run instead of letting her family help.
'We don't need you here.' Rogue could hear the male speak in her head his gruff voice filled with pent in anger. 'You or your people.'
"It's a work in progress."
Falling in step with her fuzzy companion Kitty bumped her shoulder into him gaining his attention. "You, like, going to be alright?"
"Yea," Kurt spoke although by the look Kitty had given him he could tell she was unconvinced. "Why do you ask?"
"Jordan didn't mean to put you on the spot like that with the parents."
"I know he's just trying to get me more comfortable in my own skin."
"They didn't react the way you thought they would."
"No. They didn't. But they could have."
"You don't know that until they do." Kurt nearly jumped as Jordan spoke having not noticed the taller male stop walking in favor of scanning around the quiet part of town. Fixing his gloves Jordan proceeded to take the stuffed fox from his pocket turning it over slowly in his hands. Kurt and the others knew to be quiet as the older mutant concentrated on the toy only going halfway into a trance like state. His eyes remained open though the intensity of his iris's dimmed to a near milky white before they returned to normal. The psychic looked about their surroundings again before nodding his head forward. She hadn't moved again.
Catching Jordan's slate-blue eyed gaze for a second Kurt quickly turned back to the front, his eyes downcast onto the sidewalk as he talked. "That's pretty easy for you to say."
"Hey," Jordan spoke, his voice a strange mixture of annoyance and reassurance. "I may not look like an oversized stuffed elf but I do know what it's like being judged on appearances."
Rogue could agree with the relatively large male's point. He was thankfully nowhere near the same size as Frankie, the male as tall as he was round but that didn't mean Jordan wasn't an imposing figure. He was tall, towering over most people he came across and the bulk of his frame never helped any either.
Many people, if they didn't know him, gave the black male a wide berth and though, now thinking about it, Rogue could say that even knowing the guy she gave him a wide berth as well. He was a jerk, most of the time. That and his near permanent resting asshole face was a pretty good deterrent.
"Can't help the face you were born with."
Eyes going wide for a fraction of a second Rogue completely ignored Jordan as she continued walking down the sidewalk. Though she didn't know the exact destination there was no way she was going to be in arms reach of the older male, especially after he had heard, been projected, her thoughts. How long had she been doing that anyway? The southern bell wondered as she grumbled to herself, Kitty and Kurt snickering behind her.
Rogue was still getting used to the idea of being able to hold onto her friends, as well as others, abilities longer than before, not having to touch them as often to use their powers. They were already well stored in her body at this point. Didn't mean she was used to turning them on and off at will. Much like now.
"It's this way," Jordan spoke not even bothering to hide the smirk from his face. Grumbling, Rogue doubled back making the correct turn glaring all the while at Kitty and Kurt as they continued to laugh down the street. She was so going to kill the three of them in their sleep.

"We're here ladies and gent."
They were at the back of an old gun mill having taken the side streets and a back alley to get here. For a second Kurt had no clue where they were going not wanting to believe a little girl would even begin to venture off into the less desirable parts of town and this was starting to look like they were there.
They were on the city's south side, the buildings they had passed looked just like those of most city he'd seen on that part of town. Two family houses run down through years of neglect, busted sidewalks, weeds growing to imaginable heights as trash slowly rolled about picked from the gently blowing wind. Potholes littered the dimly lit streets darkened by yellow flickering bulbs, Jordan silently thankful they had left his car at the family's house. Should something happen to his vehicle on this mission Professor Xavier would be footing the bill for it to get fixed.
The gun mill was beyond run down in appearance, what was to be expected of an abandoned building. For the last fifty plus years nature had been taking back the plot of land the fire arms manufacturing building sat upon, the weeds ran over into the adjacent lawns who were either in equal or lesser states of decay. Kurt was least impressed with the vines deciding to crawl around on the outside of the building covering up boarded windows, dirt caked over on broken glass. Tags marked the dirtied bricks fading with age the swirling colors resembling car oil mixed in rain water.
If it had crumbled to the ground Kurt was sure it would have been less of an eye sore. This is where Sarah had decided to hide? The wind blew opposite the direction it had been previously causing a shiver to run down the furred male's spine. He was just glad that they weren't required to wear their uniforms on this mission. What with the weather dropping down well into the thirties some nights there was no way he could just comfortably walk around even though he was covered in fur.
Stopping on the far west wall Kurt and the others stood by as Jordan scanned the outside of the building finding a broken window on the third level. They had passed a lot of broken windows on their surveillance around the building but for some reason Jordan had picked this side as the one Sarah had come through.
"She broke in through here."
Petite brow raised Kitty crossed her arms over her chest. "How do you know?" Personally she didn't care either way which entrance the little girl had used, Kitty was more for finding her and getting someplace that had actual heat. She was freezing.
"I know things."
With a crowbar he had procured from, wait, where had he gotten that from? Kurt wondered sharing a look with both brunettes as they watched Jordan go to town on the rest of the wooden boards. It had taken the psychic little to no time to take down the rotten wood before he placed the crowbar to the side of the building and climbed through the hole. Reaching out of the window Jordan proceeded to help haul the others through.
Rolling his eyes Kurt teleported into the abandoned factory popping up right next to Jordan whom unknowingly mimicked the much shorter male, rolling slate-blue eyes. Taking a look around at the inside of the abandoned factory Kurt made note of a few things fascinated by the urban decay.
It was no better than the outside as nature seemed to want to decorate the interior with weeds climbing up onto the walls and in between broken slabs of concrete. At some point Kurt was sure there had been a fire much of the surrounding area showing signs of having been scorched at one time. Dirt, grime, and dust coated the metal beams and posts as well as an unhealthy amount of rust making Kurt wonder just how the building managed to stay standing despite the decay. The ground was littered with all sorts of odds and ends from beams that had already succumbed to their fate to pieces of ceiling and wall other unrecognizable pieces of junk on the floor.
"This way, and we stick together."
Catching the faint whiff of smoke against the breeze Kurt stopped in his tracks for just a moment before shaking off the phantom smell. He had to keep his head on straight. Catching up with the others Kurt couldn't help the shiver that ran down his spine as they moved about the first floor of the factory.
There was barely even an echo as they walked through the factory.

End scene
