"Well, well, well," Mr Anderson said, looking over Blaine's latest maths test.

Blaine shifted from foot to foot anxiously. He knew what the test said, but he didn't know what his father would say.

"It appears that you've got yourself back into your beloved choir," Blaine's father continued, dropping the paper with its shiny red A on the coffee table.

Not even Mr Anderson's lack of enthusiasm on the matter could dampen Blaine's spirits. He was back in the Warblers!

Without a word, Blaine flew upstairs and shut himself away in his room. He wanted to sing from the rooftops. Back in the Warblers! He sat distractedly on his bed and silently celebrated, before trying to decide on his next move. Should he call someone?

At that moment, as if on cue, Blaine's mobile started buzzing. Blaine glanced down at the caller ID and smiled. Of course.

"Why, good evening, Mr Hummel," he greeted, barely containing his excitement.

"Hey, Blaine." Kurt sounded worried.

"You alright?" Blaine asked, suddenly concerned.

"Yeah, yeah, fine," Kurt replied, before laughing nervously. "Listen, I wanted to ask you - "

Blaine guessed where this was going. "I know what you're going to say," he said excitedly.

"You do?"

"Yep, and the answer is yes."

Pause. "Really?"

"Yeah!" Blaine couldn't hold back the great grin that was forcing its way out between his teeth. "My father has spoken - "

"He has?"

" - and I'm officially back in the Warblers! I can perform for Valentine's and everything!"

Kurt sounded surprised. "Oh, wow, Blaine, that's excellent!" There was a short pause. "I can't wait to see Wes' face when he finds out."

Blaine laughed. "Oh, man, Kurt, I've missed you guys; I can't wait to be back."

"Yeah, we all missed you." Kurt sighed. "So no more study sessions?"

"Nope," Blaine replied. He didn't mention how much he'd miss Jeremiah. "I'm all yours."

"Good." Another pause. "Carole's calling me - I'd better go."

Blaine sighed. "Okay."

"But it's brilliant news, Blaine," Kurt enthused. "Text you later?"

"Of course."

After Blaine hung up the phone, he thought about how stilted Kurt had sounded. It had been almost shifty, Blaine pondered. Had Kurt been wanted to ask him something else? He dismissed the thought: if Kurt had wanted to ask him something, he would have - that was just the sort of person Kurt was. Maybe Pavarotti had started kicking up a fuss or something. Either way, he decided not to worry about it. He'd see Kurt tomorrow for registration and the again in Warblers rehearsal (Blaine smiled at the thought of the Warblers), so they could sort anything that needed sorting out then.

Blaine rubbed his eyes and considered messaging some of the other Warblers to tell them the good news. He resolved to let it be a surprise.

He couldn't wait for tomorrow.
