February seemed to be flying by. Now officially back in the Warblers - to raucous applause from everyone - Blaine now had the job of learning a whole new set. In recognition of the time restraints, though, the Warblers made an executive decision on their Valentine's day performance: one song, performed at Breadstix on Valentine's day. It seemed appropriate, and exciting enough to snap everyone out of their winter blues for rehearsals. Kurt also promised that all his McKinley High friends would be there, so it wasn't like they'd be short of an audience. All in all, things were looking very promising.
Blaine was still treading water like crazy to maintain his maths grades, though; he didn't want to give his dad any ideas about forcing him to drop out of the Warblers again. He decided that the Lima Bean was probably where he'd get the most work done, and so resolved to go there at least once a week. It was shame, though, that Jeremiah's shift only appeared to correspond to Blaine's school day on a Tuesday, since he was back to going to after-school meetings then. Most days, he and Kurt would swing by after school and work together for a bit on their homework.
There had been a Friday, though, where they'd bumped into each other. Blaine had been heading out on his own when Jeremiah had walked in.
"Jeremiah!" Blaine had called out, sidestepping neatly into the other's path.
"Oh, Blaine, hi," Jeremiah had replied, flashing a smile before frowning. "Were you doing your work?"
"Yeah - I got back into the Warblers, so I'm busy on Tuesdays, so…" Blaine had forgotten the point he was trying to make, so shrugged and smiled.
"Oh, that's awesome, well done," came the reply. "I guess we're done having our meet-ups, then." Had he sounded disappointed? Maybe. Blaine didn't really remember.
"Yeah, I guess so."
Both exhausted of conversation topics, the two had said their "see you"s and parted ways. Blaine desperately hoped it wasn't the last they saw of each other, though, and Jeremiah's genuine smile suggested that he was thinking along a similar theme.
Well, with Valentine's day coming up, maybe there was no better time for Blaine to say so.
Was it too much to sing to someone at Valentine's? Blaine wondered if the Warblers would be happy to throw together a little something at such short notice.
Because he definitely wanted to see more of Jeremiah.
