My Besties
"Steady breaths, do not strain yourself." Hayaden instructed.
"I know, I know." I said through my panting and gasping. My wound, for the most part, was good to go expect still sore and to be checked every day. I needed to get training and building my skills again, but, being of the female sex, I was frowned upon by the "superior" sex, the males, and shot down chances of training: sum up, no dude would train me and the women didn't know how to wield a sword for their lives (where's Eowyn when you need her). Luckily Maewyn to the rescue as she told her son, Hayaden, and they worked out that he would train me (or she'd box his ears).
"If you know, then why do you strain yourself anyway?" He demanded, sure he's training me, but deep in his typical-male-mind I know I'm 'below' him. But he kinda made sense, so I shut up and listened.
So far we focused on using my left hand to throw, strike, and defend since my using my right side aggravates the wound and god knows I don't need any other horrible thing (God knows, he just doesn't care).
So it went on with training and training and training and oh, did I mention the training? By the time I get to sleeping I feel like a wet hotdog roll. Then I sleep. And it starts all over again.
But I had people to look forward to, not just Maewyn, let's see… there was Aric, the youngest city guard and bestest friend of Faida, but this tragic love triangle (love isn't found when you're thirty apparently, it happens at like fifteen) puts the absolute jerk Dallin as her arranged (future) husband. Faida is a great person but she's very shy and doesn't really have any outbursts. She's really only comfortable around Aric but since she was given to Dallin from the moment she was born… well, screw Middle Earth and arranged marriage. They suck hands down.
What was I blabbering on about? Oh yeah, Faida and Aric. There's also Gwendolyn, a very pretty, very confident girl. She was the first to catch Faida and Aric together (just talking, mind you) but since she, the gossip girl, kept it to herself, she became a part of us. Lastly there was Lucian; he was the pranking sort of guy but funny and awesome to hang out with. I was once caught in his net-rope trap meant for Dallin.
Now, you're probably wondering, how do I know all these rather insane but amazing and fabulous Rohirrims? Well… you know how I said I was once caught in his trap? Yeah…
God, could that man ever give me a break? I asked myself after a painful day of working and training thanks to that Hayaden. I was so tired, I didn't watch where I was going or I would have notice the poorly placed rope work that even my brother could have done a better job of.
Suddenly the world was dizzy again and I wondered if I was tied upside down, hanging from a tree.
Again.
But no, I was just trapped in a net in which Lucian came out blushing and apologizing and saying it was made for Dallin but honestly I didn't care. It was sloppy rope work but the rope itself, as I learned it was handmade by Lucian's mother, was thick and sturdy, perfect for any really needed use (but where are you going to find that?).
Anyway, we basically became friends, Lucian introduced me to his cousin Gwendolyn who brought me to meet Faida except that it was only Aric in the rose garden but eventually we met Faida and somehow God stuck me with this crazy pair of friends.
Today we're doing horse riding, I thought it would be easy considering the fact that I ride Aleece but damn it's hard with all those jumpy thingies that make you want to cry. Aleece refused to do it but then when I went to ride a different horse and complete the course, Aleece started whining and it got annoying so I was stuck sitting on top of an inactive horse; for three freaking hours.
I do not own LOTR. Ruth finally meets that one group you can't live without. Next she's going to meet a certain princess of Rohan... not to spoil of course.
