That Night
Ace's past is finally gonna get shown, and this also shows a few more changes to some characters. Although Ace is the one telling the story it's in 2nd person or is it 3rd? I always confuse those… anyways Enjo-
Ace: Oi! Who said you could talk about my past?
I made your character so I can talk about it!
Ace: No you can't it's mine!
Wren Punches Ace and knocks him out.
Wren: Just start the story already.
Ace was sitting on the cliff edge over the bay watching the sunset when Lucy and Wendy came out and sat next to him. He ignored them until Wendy grabbed his shoulder.
"Ace it's time, you have to tell us what happened back then." She said.
"I don't have to tell you anything. Any of you. I won't…" He trailed off as Natsu and Gajeel approached with Wren.
"Kid, you should. Or do you want us to beat it out of you?" Gajeel asked cracking his knuckles.
Ace grinned.
"Now that's something I can agree to. Me against all of you. I'll have a way to let it out." He said.
"5 on 1 that's not my style." Natsu said walking away.
"Really the son of Igneel walking away from a fight? Wow weakling." Ace said as Steam started coming off his skin.
Natsu clenched his fist and electricity arced off his flames. He swung at Ace but the Ice Dragon Slayer was gone.
"Where you aiming?!" Ace said appearing behind him.
"So fast…" Natsu said turning to face Ace who punched him in the stomach.
"Ace no! Your body needs to rest!" Wendy cried as Ace disappeared again.
Lucy summoned Loki and pulled out her whip. Gageel turned on his Iron scales.
"If you want me to stop then stop me!" Ace yelled as steam shot off his entire body.
He threw Gajeel into the air and then smashed him into the ground. Wren watched all of this with mild interest but didn't react in any other way. Wendy clenched her fist as Ace appeared in front of her.
"I… SAID…STOP!" She screamed.
Ace stopped slightly stunned and in that time Wendy delivered a crushing blow to every mans weak spot. Ace lay writhing on the ground for twenty minutes while Natsu Gajeel Wren and Loke all grimaced at his fate.
After he recovered he sat on the cliff edge with his legs dangling over the edge.
"All right but I'm only gonna explain this once so listen up…"

"Come on boy you can do it! Get angry!" Glacial bellowed as he poked Ace with his claw.
The boy mustered all his anger and his body liquefied into water but retained his general shape. He lashed his arm out like a whip at the dragon. The whip hit Glacial and exploded into a fine mist.
"Very good but you need to maintain your concentration. Let's try it again!" Glacial grumbled.
Ace fell over breathing hard.
"But dad! I can't stay angry at you!" Ace said.
"You need to learn to channel your anger Ace. Then you will be worthy of being called an Ice Dragon Slayer." Glacial said.
Ace caught his breath but stood up.
"Imagine that someone hurt your mother! What would you feel?" Glacial roared.
Ace was silent for a moment then steam curled off his body. He looked Glacial in the eye.
"What kind of question is that Father? I would kill them!" Ace roared.
Glacial chuckled. Ace had been studying Dragon Slayer Magic since the dragon had found him wandering the forests aimlessly with no memories of his past. Now he was a true warrior. He had enough power in his body to slay a dragon but only when his rage was unbound.
Ace suddenly stopped emitting steam. He fell over on his face.
"Ace! Are you alright boy?" Glacial asked nudging him.
"So hungry…" Ace mumbled.
"Of course. Well I suppose we have been training all day. Let's head home." The dragon said setting Ace on top of his head.
The Dragon took flight into the sky and soared effortlessly through the mountains. When they reached a valley that was larger than the rest with a lake in the center he landed. Another dragon, leaner and with darker blue scales than Glacial was curled up watching a deer roasting over a fire.
When they landed Ace jumped off Glacials back and ran over to the other Dragon. He jumped on her nose and smiled.
"Did you have a good day of training?" She asked.
"Yeah I almost got Steam! Then I ran out of Magic…" Ace said looking slightly embarrassed.
"Well then you'll need to eat quite a bit to get your strength back for tonight." She said nudging the boy.
"Iglunica, what is this?" Glacial asked nudging a small orange ball of fur with his nose.
"I found it today when I was hunting. It looked like it had been injured. I couldn't just leave it to die." She said Letting Ace off her nose.
"Well is it alive?" He asked as Ace picked it up.
He stared at the small cat while it looked at him angrily.
"What're you lookin at?" It asked rubbing its eyes.
"You. You seem like a strange cat." Ace said.
"I can beat you up! Just let me down!" The cat yelled.
Ace looked at him skeptically. Then set him down.
"Well come at me." Ace said taking a defensive stance.
The cat launched itself at the boy and delivered a kick with a decent amount of force. Ace was caught off guard by the attack and stared then his training reflexes kicked in and he punched the fur ball. It went flying and skidded on the ground grinning up at Ace.
"Your strong I can fight you seriously." He said.
"What can a mere cat do?" Glacial asked mockingly.
The cat took a deep breath and their was a burst of smoke. When it cleared their was a six foot orange and black striped cat man standing before them. He was thin and wiry but he had muscle and the look of a soldier. Six inch black claws emerged from his finger tips.
"I am Tiger-Stripe. Formerly of the Exceed Royal Guard and currently a rogue wandering the land of Edolas." He said.
"Edolas? You certainly are a long way from home. This is the world of Earthland." Iglunica said.
"What? What do you mean?" Tiger asked.
"You must have been transported here like that healer woman, what was her name? Porlyusica?" Glacial asked aloud.
"So how do I return to Edolas?" Tiger asked dropping his fists.
"As far as we know, you cannot. Not that she has tried…" Iglunica said.
Tiger stood for a moment pondering his options. Then he bowed his head before the dragons.
"Please allow me to stay here! At least until I can find a way home!" He begged.
Glacial shrugged and curled up to go to sleep. Iglunica inspected the cat-man closely then nodded.
"Very well. But harm anyone and face my Wrath." She growled.
"Yes ma'am. I was once a protector of Queen Shagot herself. I will do my best to remain unobtrusive." He said with a bow.
Ace rolled his eyes then faced him once again.
"Enough talk. You and me. Before we eat." He said.
They spent the next hour sparring until their hunger could no longer be ignored. After they ate, with tired bodies and full stomachs they quickly fell asleep.
Before dawn a great roar woke them up. Tiger shot to his feet and looked around. Glacial and Iglunica were up as well staring across the valley. The roar came again as a massively built dragon entered the valley. It had short legs and locked as if it had been chiseled out of the earth with two tiny golden eyes glaring forward. It flew up to the dragons and landed, crushing many of the trees.
"Cragsiane, why are you here?" Glacial asked obviously angry at the other's presence.
"I have merely brought you a challenger. My own Dragon Slayer." He said as a human appeared on top of his head.
"I will not fight humans. That time is past." Glacial said putting himself between Cragsiane and Iglunica.
"Oh I don't expect you to fight. I expect you to die." The human said.
"A woman? You cannot harm me girl." Glacial growled.
The girl leapt onto the ground. She was stocky but not fat and her long brown hair flowed in the breeze.
"Now don't move. I would hate to prolong your suffering." She said smashing her hands into the ground.
Stone spikes shot out of the ground and rammed into Glacial's stomach. Blood flowed out onto the ground as the dragon roared in pain and outrage.
"You've sealed your fate girl!" Glacial roared shooting a stream of ice at her.
She smirked and raised a shield of earth which deflected the the blast. Iglunica shot past Glacial and tried to smash the girl but Cragsaine knocked her aside as the girl drove a spike through Glacial's heart. The great dragon went into shock then his head fell to one side with unseeing eyes. Ace knelt watching. His initial shock turned to rage and steam began flowing off of his body. He climbed to his feet and launched himself at the girl.
"I'll kill you!" He roared.
She grabbed his arm and threw him into the lake. Cragsaine had Iglunica's neck under his claws and the girl dealt the finishing blow. The water dragon's head fell into the lake and she whispered something as she died. Ace began sucking up the water and moments later he stepped onto the beach facing the girl and her dragon.
"Good work Terra. Now finish off the boy!" Cragsaine said triumphantly.
Ace disappeared in a cloud of steam and smashed his hand into the earth dragons head. His stone skull cracked and he bellowed in pain as he tried to swat the boy. Ace dodged the strikes and his steam solidified into a massive icy hammer.
"DRAGON SKAYER SECRET ART: ICE DRAGON CRUSHING HAMMER!" He yelled as he Smashed it into Cragsaine's head.
The dragon collapsed and glared as he died. Ace then stood atop the dead dragon and glared at Terra. She was shocked at his power but simply grinned.
"Well then! Come at me!"
Ace rocketed towards her enveloped in a cloud of steam. She blocked his attacks but couldn't counterattack. Then one of his punches landed and broke her arm. He tried to attack her again but she launched spikes at him out of the ground. One caught him in the side and he instinctively jumped back. Another sliced across his back and he collapsed as the pain from the injury and his steam rocketed across his body.
Terra stood over him ready to finish him but Tiger stood in her way. He was in cat man form and had his claws extended.
"Just leave. Or I will kill you." He threatened.
They both knew it was a bluff but Terra turned and vanished into the forest cradling her bleeding arm. Tiger carried the unconscious Ace into the forest and stood guard the whole night. After that they began their hunt for the Earth Dragon Slayer.
