I am so sorry! :( I know I haven't updated this story in so long, and thank you to those few reviewers that asked me to update. I got major writer's block and didn't even know where I was going with this story. I've tried my best to continue this, I hope it's as good as the earlier chapters. I will try to finish this, I hate leaving stories unfinished.
Hope you enjoy ^-^
Once the door closed Harry turned to Remus. "Since when has Hogwarts had administrators? Has this happened before?"
"This is the first time. Dumbledore thought that it was the time that the school was looked at by outside parties." Remus explained.
"Outside is right." Ron said. "They didn't even know who we were."
Hermione rolled her eyes at her husband. "It sounded like they were from a very small magical community. I've never heard of anything in Wales though."
"They are very small. Not found in any book because there are so few of them and they study different magic." Remus said.
"I noticed that they used spells I've never heard of. They spoke of old magic." Hermione said.
"Yes, it's very old magic." Remus nodded, "Now, I know you didn't come all this way to ask about my guests."
The trio shared a look. "Greyback has escaped." Harry said gravely.
Remus went pale, "That can't be"
Hermione looked sad, "It's true Remus. We fear that he's coming here."
"We are going to stay here and help protect the school. We don't know when he'll be here but we will be ready." Ron said.
"How do you know that he's coming here?" Remus asked.
Harry gave him a skeptical look, "You have a history Moony. I'm sure he's hell bent on getting revenge on you."
Remus sighed, "Alright. I'll keep my guard up. Thank you for coming to tell me."
"Of course Remus. You are family, of course we would help you." Hermione smiled.
"We should go tell Dumbledore what has happened." Harry suggested.
"Then I will see you later." Remus smiled and returned to his rooms.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
A week had passed with little incident. The group of time travelers had made it to every class, fascinated by what they saw and learned.
Remus taught Merlin a few spells and in return Merlin helped Remus finish his education on the Old Religion.
Harry and his friends were often found roaming the castle and got to know the time travelers more. After every meeting, Hermione would go to the library and read for hours. It wasn't until a few days later that they found out what she was reading.
Merlin and Arthur were walking around the castle, talking to the various paintings they came across.
"That Sir Cadogan is teribble. He gives knights a bad name." Arthur huffed.
Merlin chuckled. "I don't know Arthur. He wasn't that bad."
Arthur stared at him, "He wanted to duel me. And if that wasn't enough, he called me a scoundrel!"
Merlin shrugged, "According to the books in the library he was a knight of Camelot."
Arthur froze, he turned to Merlin, "Never let me knight someone like that."
"Come on Arthur, he's not that bad. His heart is in the right place."
When he saw Arthur roll his eyes he continued, "If it's any consolation, he was a lot less eccentric when he was alive. He was a very brave and noble knight. I guess that his age has gotten to him."
Arthur didn't say anything.
They continued walking along the hallways when Arthur broke the silence. "How are you feeling about all of this Merlin?"
"I'm really enjoying my time here." He smiled. "It's so different than back home. Magic is free here, even if it's so different."
"When I am king, things are going to change." Arthur said.
Merlin looked at him in shock, "Arthur?"
Arthur turned to the warlock with determined eyes, "I promise Merlin, when we get back home, things will change."
"Thanks Arthur" Merlin's eyes were wet.
They were silent for a moment before Arthur huffed and punched Merlin lightly on the arm, "You're such a girl Merlin." He walked off.
Merlin merely smiled and followed the Prince. They turned another corner and ran into Hermione.
"Mrs. Weasley, good afternoon." Arthur bowed.
"Oh please, call me Hermione." The brunette smiled. "What are you two doing?"
"Conversing with a few paintings." Merlin replied.
"Oh really" She gave them a curious look, "Meet anyone interesting?"
"Well Arthur didn't really care for Sir Cadogan." Merlin smirked.
"He is quite the character isn't he?" Hermione chuckled.
"I don't know how he became a knight of Camelot." Arthur said.
"I know. What were you thinking?" She smirked.
"I honestly have no idea." Arthur replied without thinking. After a moment, both he and Merlin froze.
"I, I uh" Arthur stuttered.
"It's alright, I did a bit of reading after I met you and your friends. Something wasn't adding up and I needed to find out. I haven't told anyone if that's what you are worried about." Hermione assured.
Arthur and Merlin looked around cautiously and led her to a secluded corner of the hallway. "What do you know?" Merlin asked.
"I know that you and your friends are time travelers. To know about ancient magic means that you are a really long way from home." Hermione said. "I also know that you are King Arthur" She pointed to Arthur.
"Prince Arthur actually. I haven't become king yet." Arthur replied.
"So how did you find out?" Merlin asked.
"I went to the library and looked up some old history books. They were stories of Merlin and King Arthur. It also mentioned his knights. Your names were the same and I couldn't believe that was a coincidence." Hermione explained.
"Please keep this information to yourself. We don't need any more attention on us." Arthur said.
"Of course, it's such an honor meeting King Arthur. Even if you aren't the king we all have heard of." Hermione gushed, then frowned, "There was one thing I couldn't figure out." She turned to Merlin, "Who are you? I couldn't find any mention of a Balinor in the books."
Merlin smirked, "Remus said that history has a way of forgetting a few things. I'm Arthur's manservant. Perhaps if you keep looking, you will be able to find out who I am."
Hermione looked at him suspiciously, "So does that mean that you aren't who you say you are?"
"I'll let you decide that." Merlin smiled.
"Good day Hermione, I'm sure we will see you later." Arthur bowed again and continued down the hall.
When they got farther down the hall Arthur turned to Merlin, "Why not tell her who you are?"
Merlin turned to the prince, "She seems to like a challenge. Why ruin her fun?"
Arthur's response was to playfully push Merlin to the side. "You're full of surprises Merlin."
Kind of an abrupt ending in my opinion…oh well on to the next chapter! Hopefully it won't take me as long to write it ;) wish me luck!
