I slowly opened my eyes, adjusting them to the light, and foung myself in a grey room. It was strange really. The last time I remember, I was outside, in the snow, after my battle with the Blizzard Lord.
'Was that all a dream?' I wondered.
"Xion!" I heard someone call me. I turned to see a boy with dirty blonde spiky hair. "There you are. Siax is getting impatient, you know. Said that he has a really important job for you."
"For me?" I repeated. And who is Saix? Sound like he's someone improtant.
"Yeah. And you better hurry. Saix said that he'll turn you into a dusk if you keep slacking off."
"What?! I'll be right there!" I hurried out of bed and ran to where Saix was waiting.
When I got to the lobby, I was met with a glare from a scarred man with blue hair and piercing blue eyes. I remember now. This man here is Saix. He's the one member of this organization who really hates me. He always treated me like a thing, which is actually true. But even though, I have feelings, which is one thing that I doubt someone like him would understand.
"You're late, Number XIV," he growled.
"Sorry, Saix," I apologized. He's our leader's right hand man. It's bad to get on his bad side, though that seems to be impossible for me to not get on that side. Especially due to the fact that HE HATES ME FOR EVERYTHING! I just can't take this guy!
"Anyway, your mission for today is to investigate a new world," he continued. "Not only that, but there's a large amount of Heartless in that world. I want you to find the reason for this and do whatever you can to stop this. Even if it means that you will die doing it." See what I mean by hate?
Not wanting to argue, I accepted the mission. Worst part about this is that it's a solo mission, and everyone else in the organization are busy with their missions, so they can't help me. Not even my own friends can give me a hand. This has to be the worst day of my life.
Arriving in the new world that Siax sent me to, called Drum Kingdom, I can't help but feel a little chilly. I sighed, finding no point in turning back, and went on with my mission in this cold world.
Of what I see so far in this world, there's nothing but snow here. Along with some trees and incredibly steep mountains. It's times like this that I wonder if the missions Saix gave me are real missions. The only reason I thought that is because of the number of Heartless here. There's so many of them on this island, it's like saying that they live here. Makes me wonder if this is actually one of the Heartless's hideout.
"Oi. Are you the witch doctor we heard about?" came a voice. I turned to the source and saw a village. Thinking that they might have some information about this place, I walked over there, only to see some kind of commotion going on.
There was a small group of people looking at an old lady. Well, she looks like an old lady, but she has a body of a teenager, which makes me wonder if her face is actually fake.
"And what if I am?" she asked the opposing group.
"I want you in my crew," said the big, black guy, who's dressed up as a pirate. "I know I already have a doctor, but I need an expert to help him with his disease."
"You want me to join you, little brat? Think again. I already have my hands full with all of these patients on this island."
"This isn't a request. It's an order!" Just when he said that, a group of Shadows appeared. The pirate ordered them all to take the old woman by force, only to be attacked by a reindeer. The reindeer has a pink top hat and a blue nose. "Where did you come from?" he demanded. "No matter. If you want to protect that witch doctor, I'll just have to kill you! There's no need for a reindeer in my crew!"
"Chopper!" the witch doctor called.
As if on instincts, I just jumped in and blocked the pirate's attack on the animal.
"Who the hell are you?" he demanded.
"Isn't it obvious?" I asked back. "I don't know who you are, but since you're the the reason why there are a lot of Heartless here, I'll have to beat you to complete my mission."
"Mission?" the pirate and the old witch doctor repeated. I pushed him back with my Keyblade. Looking at it, I just realized that it looks similiar to my first Keyblade, Starlight.
"I don't know who you're working for, but if you do want to fight me, you have to go through my minions and crewmates first." Just when he said that, more Heartless appeared, surrounding me, as well as the pirate's crewmates.
The battle was long and hard, especially since I'm up against four people, a horse, and hundreds of Heartless. Speaking of horse, what it is doing in a place like this? Shouldn't they be in a warm climate? And why does it and its owner look like they're going to die soon? I'm not kidding. Their faces are really pale and the horse has its tongue out, like it is sick! They shouldn't even be alive right now, in that condition!
After hours of that fight, I managed to take out the last of that pirate's allies. I was really exhausted. Despite this, I still want to take on the leader of this pirate group.
"Hey, you're not bad," I heard him say.
"And what's it to you?" I questioned, hiding my exhaustion.
"I have an offer for you. Why don't you join the Blackbeard Pirates? Surely, someone as strong as you want to be in a strong pirate crew. I'll even make you my right hand man, or girl. So what do you say?"
'What is he? Stupid?' I asked myself. "Screw the position! I'm not going to join your crowd since it has nothing to do with my future! Besides, who would want to be a pirate?!" was my answer to his offer.
"Then I guess you'll just have to die!" the captain of the Blackbeard pirates declared.
That said, another battle began. This time it's between me and the Blackbeard Pirates' captain, who is also the reason for there being a great amount of Heartless in this world. It was hard, fighting him. Especially because he can do long-range attacks. I managed to avoid taking damage, luckily. But the hard part was landing a hit on this guy. He must be extremely weak, since he keeps putting up shields of some sort to block my attacks. So I just need one or two shots, and it's down he goes.
Hours later, we still kept fighting. Looks like I'm not going to make it to the usual spot today. I was extremely exhausted, and it looks like the pirate captain was, too. I had very little chances in using my cure spell on me, since he kept on dragging me over to him with his powers or somehow negated my ability to use spells.
"It's over for you, now," I heard him say. "I'm giving you one last chance to reconsider my offer."
"Again, who the hell would want to be a pirate?" I asked, hinting out my answer.
"Then die! Black World!" He used his power and blocked my vision. All I can see is darkness, which leaves me wide open!
Despite this, I didn't give up. I chose to keep my ground, so I can see tomorrow, and so I can still be with my friends. Plus, I wanted to show Siax how wrong he is about me, about everything he said about me!
'I... WON'T LOSE!' I encouraged myself. Out of instincts, I used my Zantetsuken, the attack I used to take out the Darkside back in Twilight Town. I heard a groan and a thud. My vision was coming back to me and I saw the last of the pirate lying down on the snow. I took steps closer to him and was ready to behead him. I was stopped by the look in his eyes. They were begging for mercy. They showed me how scared he was of me. That's the first time someone looked at me like that.
"Leave," I spoke, confusing him. "I'm giving you a choice. You can either leave or die here. If you choose to leave, promise me this: No matter how much time pass, you will never come back here. Understand?" The defeated pirate just stared at the me in shock. "Also, give back all the food and money that you stole from this place, now! Or I will have to kill you!"
Whether it was fear for death or wanting to protect him, I don't know or care, but his pirate comrades took him and ran to their ship. Of course, it was obviously from fear, since they actually gave back everything they took from the villagers back to them. To be precise, those pirates just left them on the island.
"Girl! This isn't over! You hear me?!" I heard the captain shout, as they sailed, or rowed, away. "Remember this! I, Blackbeard, will not accept defeat like this! The next time we meet, I WILL DEFINITELY KILL YOU!"
Once they were out of sight, my body felt heavy. My legs just gave up on me and I felt myself falling. And then, I fainted.
I regained conscious, but didn't open my eyes. I didn't feel like getting up, and my body felt sore.
'What happened to me?' I mentally asked myself. Recalling the events that happened, I remember going on a mission Siax gave me, if I can call it that. Then I fought against a bunch of Heartless, and fought against the source. And now... I do not remember returning to the castle after that.
Realizing that, my eyes snapped open and I shot out of bed. "I have to go back!" I shouted, as I did so. As I did, I heard a scream that sounded like a child's. Turning to the owner, I was looking an animal that looks like a tanuki. Of course, noticing the antlers and hooves, I knew that it wasn't a tanuki.
After a few seconds of silence, the tanuki-like creature hid behind a high chair... the wrong way. Instead of hiding most of his body, he only hid on of his eye. Meaning he did a mirrored version of how a child should hide behind a chair. And I truthfully found it cute.
"Uh... Hi?" I greeted in an uneasy tone. "Say... You do know that it's suppose to be the other way around right?" The yound creature seemed to have just noticed that. "Well, it's too late anyway, since I can still see you."
The next thing that happened was unexpected. "Shut up, human! And how do you feel?" it, or he, asked.
"You talk?!" I gasped in shock. My small outburst seemed to have surprised the tanuki, for it accidentally hit his head on the desk behind him. Worried for the little guy, I went over to his side. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah... I'm fine," the creature replied.
"That's good to know."
"Chopper. I thought I told you to-" I turned to see the old lady from earlier. "Oh. I see that you're awake."
"How long was I out?" I asked her.
"A whole day."
"A whole day?! I have to go back!" I was about to run out of the room, when the woman kicked me back to the bed. Yes, you heard me. She kicked me. She didn't stop me and brought me back to bed; she just kicked me. I thought she was a doctor, not a fighter. And I thought she's an old lady.
"You're not going anywhere. Not unless you're all healed up or dead," she said. "Chopper, go into my room and get more medicines for our patient."
"Yes, Doctorine," the tanuki-like creature, now known as Chopper, replied, leaving the room.
"Please, ma'am. You have to let me go," I begged, trying to reason with this woman. "I'll be just fine."
"Not while you're in my castle," she argued. "Look here girly, I only let my patients go if they are completely healed or if they die. And as a doctor-"
"But I'm not a human," I interrupted, thinking that once she knows this, she'll just let me go.
"That's what I would also like to talk to you about. What happened to your heart? How is it that you're alive without one?" I flinched when she asked me that.
"I'm a puppet. A live puppet."
"That's ridiculous. How can a puppet be alive?"
"Well I'm one and I'm alive. Now I have to leave or my boss will get mad at me for not returning. And I don't want to give him any more reason to hate me."
"... All right. I'll let you go," I was relieved that she would let me go, until the doctor added a condition. "After I study your condition."
"But I-"
"No 'buts' or I will give you more injuries. None of your wounds have healed yet, and I'm the only doctor on this island, aside from my apprentice that is. And just because I'm a doctor, it doesn't mean that I can't fight. I'm actually really strong, so choose your choice wisely."
"... Okay, fine. You win," I sighed in defeat.
Chopper came back with the medicines that Doctorine asked for.
As I stayed in that world, recovering from my battle, I was telling Chopper a lot of things about me. Of course, I didn't tell him everything, like how there are many other worlds or that I'm not really human. The curious creature, whom I found out was really a reindeer, was amazed when I showed him some of my magic. Of course, I would've used my cure spell, but for some reason, I can't use it. It's almost like that Blackbeard guy took away my ability to heal. And I didn't bring my potions either to quicken my healing process. Though I could've sworn I had some of them with me, unless if those pirate had anything to do with it.
During my short stay, Chopper taught me how to communicate with animals. I insisted him to teach me, really. This one time, when I wanted to go for a short walk, I saw him negotiating with a few other animals. I thought that somehow communicating with them would work to my advantage against my opponents. And so, I convinced him to teach me. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I feel like I'm at home here.
