All of these voices, resounding within his head...they won't dull in the slightest.
He's reduced to clutching at his own bleeding head, as though it'll give him some sort of relief from the pain-from the nightmares. But nothing makes them stop. And they never sleep, never let him rest, and the longer he has to deal with all of those noises, the more he begins to realize that he's got absolutely no control.
...It might not help that the evidence of that truth is scattered around him, in the form of broken plane pieces, burning and sizzling and so utterly broken apart. Each little edge of the remaining engine burns with the pixels of his own powers-one that he was sure he hadn't unleashed. But with Delsin being the only other conduit with the same ability-who was still in the middle of climbing Space Needle, he assumed-he knows that he's got no one else to blame except for himself.
And how that little fact burns a feverish hole in the back of his head, past all the voices and sounds, and noise, and if he thought that he was going insane before, he feels so much worse when a shrill whistle resounds throughout the area.
...Followed by inhuman monsters, with bloody, elongated and jagged fangs, charging straight towards him.
He doesn't even have a chance to try to run; not when his leg's caught under one of those metal propellers. It takes less than a second for them to draw in right around him, two for them to lift the propeller away, and three for him to black out when one shoves his head back against one of the broken seats.
...He had wanted to get his powers back. He wanted to save everyone again. That seemed to be his only calling, the only thing he was truly good at, and now, he's been reduced down to nothing more than a monster that can't run away from his own darkness He had only wanted to taste the power once more. He hadn't even realized that he had touched his hand to his computer screen and drained every last ounce of video he could. And it was enough that his reserves nearly burst, and along with it, the plane...
...Eugene can just feel, throughout his entire being, that he has failed everyone, especially Delsin. And he wants nothing more than to be able to slip back into his hiding, turning his back on the world that had seemingly done the same to him.
