Chapter 14
It's Nearly Time To Go

.:Nya:.

She watched as the warm sunrise glow shone on Jay's sleeping face. She knew she had to go soon but she doesn't want to leave. She leaned down and kissed Jay on his forehead and she got up. She made her way around the coffee table and picked up her bag. Nya then slipped her feet into her boots and she grabbed her jacket off the coat hanger. She placed her hand on the door handle when she gave Jay one last look. With a heavy sigh exiting her lips, she opened the door and stepped out into the cool morning breeze. She went to her bike which she rested against the fence and she hopped on it. She quickly programmed her GPS back to the palace but when she heard the front door open, she saw Jay running out.

"You're leaving?"

"I have to before Lou, Kai and Cole finds out I snuck out to see you." She said softly and she dismounted her bike and slowly walked up to him.

"When can I see you again?"

"I-I'm not sure… It's really hard to tell."

"Will it be over a month?"

"Jay…" She sighed. She then felt his arms encircle her waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his chest. "Sometimes I wish I can just run away with you, somewhere where no one know us and we can just live like normal people. But of course everyone knows my face and I can't have my life the way I want to have it."

"If that's what you really want, we can do that." She heard him say and she looked up.

"B-But how?"

"Well I still have lots of money left over from when I was working in the shed so I can buy a house in a small and remote village. We can change our names. That's only if you want it."

"Jay… I would love that but it means I have to move away from my brother. But won't people there still know me? And I'm sure you don't have enough money to buy a house and to get us over there…"

"How about next time we discuss about it alright? This will also give you time to think over it."

"What about your parents?"

"I'm okay but I'm sure they won't mind… I'll just tell them I got a job there. It'll be fine. You should better get going. Do you want me to drive you nearby?"

"I would like that very much." She smiled.

When she got back to the palace, she went through the back gate and she quickly dumped her bag in the bush that had the rope. She then darted bush to bush, dodging each guard and she made her way to the creek behind the shed. She went over to the rose bushes and she lay down. She tucked her knees to her chest and tried to fall asleep since she didn't sleep at all. She was sure she had four hours of sleep before she heard shouts and panic arise in the palace.

"Someone find her! She can't be missing!" She heard Lou shout. She tried to put on her best sleeping face when she also heard the guards in the gardens shout out.

"Come on lads, the princess is missing!"

"Wait, I've found her!"

She tried not to smile or frown but just stay asleep. She snuggled her head into the nook of her elbow making her face down towards the grass. Nya then realized it was a bad idea since there was a rather long grass that tickled her nose. She heard heavy footsteps crushing the grass but she kept a relaxed face. She then felt a hand on her cheek and softly, she pretended to stir and awake from her slumber. She groaned and opened her eyes. Nya made sure to blink a couple of time and she could see Cole's face.

"C-Cole?"

"Nya, what are you doing out here? You gave everyone in the palace a heart attack." She heard Cole said softly and she then felt him brought her body towards his and he gave her a hug. "Are you hurt? Who took you?"

"Nobody did. I just wanted to be out in the gardens and I think I fell asleep…" She slowly trailed off and she then felt him hug her. She knew Cole still deeply cared for her and it kills her that she can't return the feelings.

"Your brother and I thought somebody kidnapped you since you weren't at breakfast or in your room. My father thought you went to see Jay."

"But I don't know where Jay lives so I don't see how that is possible. I just needed some fresh air since nobody even let me into the gardens so I thought last night I can do that and I avoid every guard so they don't send me back into my room." She sighed and she allowed him to cradle her in his arms. "But I still feel sleepy."

"Well for starters, sleeping on the ground without a pillow is probably why." She heard him chuckle and she laugh along with him.

"Nya!" Both of them turned their heads to see Kai running through the gardens and towards them. Nya took this time to sit up. "I'm so glad you're safe."

"I didn't mean to cause trouble, I only just went out to get some fresh air and *yawns* I must have fallen asleep."

"But you know you're not supposed to go out. Come on, let's get you inside." Her brother said softly and he and Cole helped her up. When they got to the door, there stood Lou with his arms crossed and his walking stick nowhere to be seen.

"Would you care to explain yourself?"

.:Jay:.

Jay sighed as he finished washing the dishes and he placed it on the drying rack to dry. He picked up a tea towel and wiped his hands before leaning against the bench. He was beginning to believe that last time he saw Nya is his last time seeing her. He didn't know if she got caught or not. Three weeks and a half have passed since the last time he had saw Nya but he made sure to drink tea with a teaspoon of honey for the first week. Already he was better. But he was serious about moving to a small and remote village. He would do anything to make Nya happy even if it won't make him happy but that's impossible since all he could wish for is to have Nya by his side.

Knock knock.

Instantly, Jay's heart leapt up and he ran to the door. When he opened it, a small frown was on his lips. It wasn't Nya. It was his Aunt Lucinda. She was his aunt from his father's side although she was adopted into the family. She was at least sixteen youngers than his father but her face tells her age differently though. She actually looks like she's in her twenties even though she's thirty-seven. Her hair was a warm shade of red; it flowed down in waves around her round face. Her cat-like green eyes were framed by thick lashes. Lucinda was also shorter than him by a head.

"A-Aunt Lucinda? What a surprise."

"Jay! I knew I would find you here!" She squealed and she hugged him tightly. Sometimes, she felt like a sister or a cousin to him. She doesn't act her age at all.

"Did mum and dad give you my address?"

"Yes but the house number was written rather messily so I had troubles trying to figure out which one was your house. I knocked on four other houses and they weren't happy to see someone visiting eight at night." She exclaimed and she let go of Jay and looked around. "You have a really nice house."

"Thank you."

"How about we walk over some tea? I'm extremely thirsty."

"Sure." After he prepared some tea, they sat at his dining table and she said telling him her stories. Even though she wasn't born in the family, she talked a lot.

.:Nya:.

She rolled over in her bed to find that it was nine-thirty-two at night. For the past three and a half weeks, she made sure to stay in the palace so she doesn't get Lou suspecting anything but tonight will be the night she would go and see Jay again. She threw off her blanket and she went to get change into something more comfortable since boots weren't ideal to wear for riding a bike. Instead, she wore sneakers. She went to her safe that was hidden underneath one of her dresses and she entered in the combination. 10-06-14. The date she first met Jay. It opened it with a click and she see took out the cash that was in there. She stuffed in her bag which also had the rope –the same ones she used last time- and she climbed out of the window. This time, she placed the rope in her bag and she ran to the back gate and missed the guards. She opened it and slipped out. This time, she placed the bike next to one of the trees so it wouldn't take forever to get it.

She didn't bother to take out her GPS since she still can remember where Jay's house was from last time. She couldn't wait to see him again because they can plan their getaway. When Jay's house was in view, she placed her bike next to his fence and she walked to his front door. But when she got there, she could hear chatter inside. She couldn't hear the words but she heard a woman's voice. Nya ducked underneath the window and she slowly raised her head. She couldn't believe her eyes. Jay was sitting at the table with a girl. Nya had to admit, she did look beautiful. She then gasped when she saw them both laugh and the girl's hand reached to Jay's cheek. She didn't understand. She wondered if Jay moved on but she remembered him telling her he loves her.

Suddenly, the girl stood up and she left to go somewhere else in the house. Nya watched as Jay leaned back in his chair. She quickly stood up and knocked on the door. There was no way she was going to lose Jay to that other. There was no way at all. She loved him and he told her he loved her. She risked everything to see him and she didn't want to believe that he's seeing another girl. When the door opened, she fired her question at him.

"Who is that? Your new girlfriend?" She asked grumpily.

"Whoa, this is my hello?"

"Don't change the subject. Is it just because we can't see each other you decided you have another girlfriend?"

"Nya that's my aunt!" Jay exclaimed and she felt heat rising to her face.

"Oh my god… How stupid can I be?" She sighed and she just wished a hole would open up and shallow her so she could run away from this embarrassment.

"Did you actually think she's my new girlfriend?" She heard Jay asked and she looked up to see an amused look on his face.

"This isn't funny." She muttered and she heard Jay laugh. "But she looks so young."

"She was adopted into my father's family. She's sixteen years younger than him. She's actually thirty-six but she acts and looks different from that age." She heard him sigh. Nya instantly went to hug him and she felt him hug her back. Of course Jay would never go and stab Nya's back like that, how stupid could she be? Next time, she really needs to make sure she doesn't jump to conclusions.

"Ooh Jay, who's this?" They both heard his aunt's voice and Jay drew his lips near her ear.

"She not really into politics; she lives in the country so you're safe." He whispered and she nodded. "Aunt Lucinda, this is my girlfriend Mabel."

"Awwww, she's a beautiful girlfriend for my little prince! It's such a shame, I would love to get to know you better but I have to leave now…" Nya heard Lucinda sighed.

"I'm sure we will meet each other again in the future but it was nice having to become your acquaintance." Nya said with a smile and bowed down a bit.

"She's super kind Jay, I reckon she's a keeper."

"Aunt Lucinda!"

"Oh well, I'll see you two soon!" And Lucinda walked towards the open door. She planted a kiss on both Jay's and Nya's cheek and she left the house. She heard a sigh from Jay as he closed the door.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry; she's a lot like my parents… She can be really embarrassing sometimes…"

"I think she's great! But if she didn't know me, why did you tell her my name is Mabel?"

"Well she loves to gossip so if she let out that my girlfriend is called Nya, everyone would know it's the princess and Lou will find out. Plus she would also tell my parents."

"But then wouldn't it mean your parents want to meet me?"

"Which is why we should plan this quickly." And Jay grabbed her hand and led her into his study.

"But Jay… Do you really want to move away from your family? I feel like as if I'm forcing you to move away."

"Nonsense Nya, I'll make sure I'll visit them but you're important to me Nya and I don't want to see you upset."

And at that, Nya's heart melted that Jay cared that much for her. With tears gathering in her eyes, she threw her arms around Jay's neck and she crashed her lips onto his.

What do you guys think? I sort of rushed the ending but I hoped you guys like it anyway. But the story is going to wrap up soon. I'm not sure if I'll write a second story or not…
