Chapter 15
A Mother's and Brother's Wishes

.:Nya:.

Tomorrow will be the day she and Jay will leave to go to Esterlyn Village. It was a small and remote village that's near the mountains. Barely anyone knows about it. She and Jay didn't find it on the web but in a book about the history on Ninjago. It was a beautiful village that was perched near a waterfall that was surrounded by a thick yet beautiful floral forest. Somehow Jay managed to get in contact with one of the villagers and he asked about available homes and jobs. As it turned out, the person they talked to was the chief named Sohma. He was more than happy to allow them to enter in and they're desperately looking for a mechanic who can fix taps and other technical issues. But of course, they have to change their names. Nya's would be Mabel whereas Jay's would be Isaac.

But today she has a lot to do. She and Jay agreed they would let Kai know on this but Nya was beginning to wonder if he actually hated Jay like Cole did or not. If he hated him, she wouldn't let him know but if Kai actually liked him then she'll tell him. Nya used the back of her hand and knocked softly on the door to Kai's personal study chamber.

"Come in." She heard Kai called from inside the room. She opened the large oak door. Kai was sitting down at his desk with his elbow on the surface and his head rested on his hand. His right hand was scribbling down on a note book and there were books scattered around his desk. Then she saw a loose tear fall from his eyes.

"What happened in here?"

"Oh Nya hi!" Kai exclaimed and he stood up, wiping his face. "Sorry about the mess."

But Nya bent down and she picked up one of the books but that's the thing, it wasn't a book but a journal. It was their mother's journal. She looked up teary at Kai and he looked away. "Where did you find these?"

"I was going through their old bedroom and there were at least ten books underneath the mattress so I took them and read them… I thought you would want to read that one."

Nya looked down at the book and saw a red tab sticking out of the book. She opened to the page and found neat writing on the white yet dusty pages.

I'm now seven months pregnant and it won't long before our daughter will be born into the world but it makes me wonder what life would have in stock for her? Would her life be like mine where I was forced into an arrange wedding? It's not like I didn't like Logan, I did love him but he wasn't the one for me… Kids, I don't know but if you happen to be reading this, please don't let this change your view on us. My wish for my daughter is for her to live her life the way she wants it, I want her to have a chance of living a happy life that it may seem like a dream for her. I'm not sure if Logan would have her to be put into an arrange marriage but that won't happen on my watch. I want her to love whoever she wants to love; I want her to be in an environment she would love. If that means she would move away from the palace, I won't say no.

Nya, if you happen to be reading this now and for whatever strange reason I'm not there; I want you be happy and live a life with the man you truly love and not put into an arrange marriage. This is just my wish for you. I really hope you'll grow into a beautiful and kind woman.

But she couldn't anymore. Tears were making it hard to continue reading. With one hand, she roughly wiped her tears away and she looked at Kai who just had a tear drop.

"Can we talk for a minute Nya?" She heard him asked gently and she nodded. Kai sat down on his chair and she sat on the other one on the opposite side. "I need you to answer me truthfully, I won't tell Lou or Cole or anyone else alright?" He asked and she nodded as an answer. "Those past five nights when we found you in the gardens sleeping… You weren't sleeping there the whole night; you were seeing Jay weren't you?"

She couldn't meet Kai's eyes; she stared down at the book which was on her laps. She only nodded her head as a response. "I-I still love him. I can't leave him Kai… I really hope you understand." She sighed with more tears rolling down her cheek. She then heard the chair scrap on the wooden floorboards and she then felt Kai hugging her tightly.

"I do Nya and I'm sure mum do." She heard him muttered and she sniffed.

"So you don't mind at all if I'm with Jay?"

"Of course not, after reading what mum wrote, I want to make her wish come true. I know I told you that if you want to love someone, make sure they're of high status but I don't see why that really matters anymore. So I don't mind at all."

"Oh, okay then… I have something to confess, it was the main reason I came to see you first." She muttered and Kai pulled apart. "I'm leaving."

"What? D-Does Lou knows? Does-"

"No, I haven't told anyone else but you. The past three times I've been at Jay's house, we've been discussing to move to a small and remote village where I could restart my life and be with Jay; no more Princess duties and no more feeling guilty whenever Cole is nearby."

"Nya, have you thought this through?"

"Yes we have… Kai, I really love you but I can't stay here. It's not the life I want to live in and I think mum knew that before she died. She probably knew I would take after her…"

"Which is why I'm not stopping you." When she heard this, she looked in her brother's eyes and saw that he wasn't lying but telling the truth. "What's your plan because obliviously you must have thought about Lou sending out search parties."

"Well, Jay and I found a place in the mountains; the Esterlyn Village. Barely anyone knows it location. Jay somehow spoke to the chief and he's allowing us to live there. Jay already got a job as the mechanic there. We're leaving tomorrow evening. I thought I could wreck my room and make it seem like I was kidnapped. If I say this, people won't expect to see me wandering around the streets and paying full attention to my face. Jay and I thought you can come and visit us."

"Hold up, kidnapped? That means Lou won't stop."

"But he doesn't know about the place. We asked the chief and he said no one from the Royalty knows about this place… Well you and I know now. What other plans do we have? If I just run away, everyone will look poorly on me and that would wreck my status even more. Even if I do come back to the palace, Lou will be even madder at me and won't ever let me leave! If I get kidnapped and return, I could just say I've escaped and in theory, he would understand the harsh years I've probably been through and let me go. Plus even if the news comes to the village, Jay and I made ourselves fake ID's cards. I'll be known as Mabel and he would be known as Isaac."

"But what if the villagers know about you?"

"Well it's a four day drive so we'll be stopping at hotels along the way. I'll dye and cut my hair, I'm going to use a spray tan can and I've found a new method on how to get dimples." Nya replied and she smiled.

"They're really faint."

"They should be fine… But since I've told you, you need to somehow change the guards' rosters for tomorrow night so I can sneak out and you must also act along to my kidnap."

"So how do I change the roster?"

"Just make sure they're not constantly by my room and the back gate to where the old tree house is. But like I said before, both of us are happy for you to come and visit us. I'll give you the address but you can to make sure no one can find it."

"Alright I will Nya." She heard him said. She didn't know she was standing up now but Kai brought her into another hug. "I'll miss you and to act like you're missing… This will drive me insane."

"I'm sorry but it's the only way."

"Well I'm here to help you alright? I want to make mum's dying wish true. Now, I'm sure you guys will need more money."

"Yeah, maybe a little bit more but there's also one more thing."

"What?"

"I need you to deliver four suitcases to Jay tonight as well."

.:The Next Night:.

After dinner, Nya went up to her room and she let tears fall down her face. That would be the last time she would be seeing Kai for a while. She'll miss Cole as well but she's not sure if she would miss Lou at all. Yesterday when she made Kai take her clothes and toiletries stuff to Jay, she made sure she didn't take too much otherwise when police will go through her stuff for evidence they'll know some things are missing and why would kidnappers take shampoo? Sure she had plenty bottles but she only took one pair since she can buy some later. Now comes the hard bit. To wreck the room and make it look like someone is trying to kill you at the same time. She tried thinking how would a kidnapper steal her. First she would be sleeping and he would drag her. She lay on her bed and threw off her blanket to the side where the window is since he would pull it off. She then pretended to be dragged off the bed and fall on the ground. She groaned but she stood up and saw her bed sheets weren't messed up enough. Nya pulled in the middle of the bed sheets to create wrinkles. She then moved her pillow so it was near the edge of her bed.

Next in her mind, the kidnap would try to bring her to the window. Of course she would fight back so she will wiggle and maybe crashed into the wall. She then figured where her head would hit the wall. She then pushed with her hands to get a dint in the wall. She put a glove on her right hand and she grabbed a new pocket knife from her pocket. Shakily, she opened it with her hands carefully not to get any fingerprints on it. She held the knife over her left forearm and she closed her eyes. She wince when she felt the tip of the blade pierce her skin. The princess removed the blade and flipped it closed and placed it in her pocket. She looked back down at her arm and saw blood falling from the wound, Nya placed her arm against the dint before placing it against her body. Next she could imagine her crawling to the door. She crouched down and dropped drops of blood on the floor. But then the kidnapper would grabbed her from the leg and slap her. The princess looked next to her left and saw her white piano. She threw herself at it and she landed on the stool which broke from the force. She stood up slowly and saw that the keys and the music sheets had a bit of blood. Next she carefully walked over to her night gown and she tore a piece from it and made it look like it got caught on the side of the stool. She wiped it on her forearm and made a smaller cut so it would stay on the stool. Next, she would be pinned on the ground and he try to stab her. She got down and pushed the knife onto the tiles where a small scratch was created with a bit of blood. She tucked the knife back into her pocket and she squeezed her arms so more blood would spill on the tiles.

Now she didn't know what to do. Nya looked around her room and went into her wardrobe and swung the doors open. She tossed dresses onto the ground and dropped more blood. She then scattered her shoes and she walked towards the glass cabinet that held many prized memories to her. She took it off the wall carefully and she made the corner stab the wall. She then punched the glass and she slid it along the marble floor. She dropped a little bit more blood on the tiles and she kicked the back of the cabinet and a huge crack appeared in the back. She then made her way to the bathroom and she pulled on the door so it came off the top hinges. It made a loud crack and she hoped no body heard it. She then swung it open and she threw a bar of soak at the mirror. Where the soak hit, small cracks appeared but then larger ones. She softly pressed her arm onto the mirror and let the blood trickle into the cracks and down the mirror. She then pulled down the curtains so half was it was loose from the rails. She then knocked some of her cleansing products off the shelves and she wiped the blood from her arm and onto the shower curtain. She tossed the rug upside down. She then forcefully hit the tap with the palm of her hand and it broke, spraying water at her.

She then walked out of the bathroom, admiring her wrecking skills. She then looked at her room. It wasn't up to her expectations so she made quick arrangements. Once she was done, she dropped the pocket knife on the floor near the window and she tossed rope over the window. Nya looked down at her arms to see more blood dripping. She made it drop on the window sill and she looked out of the window just to see the last guard walking around the corner of the palace. They're changing rosters and she only has a couple minutes to leave. The princess also made sure to smear blood on the walls. She looked at the back gate where she could see Jay on the other side. Once she touched the ground, she made sure to crush the bushes as she ran. When she figured she was close enough, she screamed in agony and she sprinted to the gate that Jay opened. She ran through and Jay picked her up and closed the gates and ran through the forest. She never knew Jay could run this fast.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine."
